Currently the 3D Space block only supports COLLADA, gLTF, and OBJ/MTL. It would be very useful to have two additional formats supported: FBX and USDZ. USDZ is Apple’s format of choice for 3D on iOS and wraps geometry and texture data into a single file which is really nice for attachment purposes. FBX can also embed texture data. OBJ/MTL is a really old format, and the external nature of the texture files in gLTF makes it cumbersome to work with in attachment fields. Since this feature seems to be mostly for interior designers, I imagine that many of the models that an interior designer will be using in the short term will be USDZ.

Can this please exist? Thank you.

Yo Airtable Dev! You guys are doing amazing stuff… I’d like to request, as the title suggests, adding ‘weekdays’ as a DATETIME_DIFF ‘unit’ My Use-Case I’m writing a simple PTO log and request form, in the longer view, to track annual PTO usage blah-blah-blah. I know, PTO is so anachronistic… Anyway, right now I use a request form with a begin date and end date query fields but in this case it is also necessary to ask, ‘how many work-days will you be gone?’ Which is kind of weird. I would automate this process with a DATETIME_DIFF() formula field in the log if I could but I’ve not been able to come up with a way to eliminate weekends from that duration. Which could always be user error. Admittedly This is really the equivalent of a function in Excel called NETWORKDAYS(), which if that’s easier to implement, I’m all for that too.

I want to have my attachment open in a block, so I can refer to the attachment AND update data in my record at the same time.Right now it seems all I can do is load attachment in a popup window, which is good, but when attachment is visible, my base is obscured and I can’t access or edit it - my usecase is to inpout data from the attachment into my base. Very frustrating to have to load attachment into an external viewer when those blocks are right there!Am I missing something?

I just got asked to add a “Comments” field to one of our tables. This struck me as off since we already add comments to the card for a field on a regular basis. It would be useful if one of the field choices was either “User Entered Comments” where the field is a reflection of any user comments added to the card or vice versa anything entered in generates a new comment that can be viewed in the history or for the field to be a straight lookup of any comment (or last activity0 that was entered into the card. This would reduce the duplicate nature of the request and be highly useful for surfacing comments (or adding them as an input). Thanks

This subject may have been discussed in the past but I haven’t seen any solution. Now, I desperately want to share a dashboard (blocks) with a crowd of contractors, or at least single blocks which I may group as a dashboard on our website by embedded code. BUT: as long as the people I share the blocks with have full access to all tables I cannot do it. It must be possible to have the option to share a block where the “settings”, “show data”, etc. is simply to be enabled/disabled to protect the database. At the moment the share option for blocks seems totally contrary to the shared view option, where you can limit access to the data you really want to share. And limited access makes sense for blocks, too, doesn’t it? Help, help, as this issue is soooo essential in our projects where data is shared with thousands of people. Thanks & best regards, Kai

I am trying to manage somewhat small scale inventory/supply management. I need to receive supplies that have details attached, consume some supply to a process (linking some of the details) and also calculate the reduction in supply from on-hand stock. In order to do this I am finding I need at minimum 2 tables. I have been able to get everything to work except scanning the consumed item to process. The consumable is the linked field and is the barcode (primary field on source table). The only way to add the record, however, is with text. The same function in the search field would be very helpful for the entry ui of the linked records (little camera icon opens the camera and acts as the input device)

It would be extremely helpful if you add the export and share features to the area of the blocks. Currently, a screenshot is not helpful since numbers are not displayed in the graphic, so it won’t be captured by a screenshot.

I am trying to make a recipe database. However, the inability to create circular references prevents me from doing that. What I want to create is a recipe database which calculates nutrition value of the recipes, and accounts for the fact that recipes can include other recipes. For example, a recipe for a Burger can contain a Cheese ingredient, Bun ingredient and a Patty, which itself is a recipe containing Beef,Salt,Pepper and Onion ingredients. However, that would be a circular reference, if I want, for example, to calculate nutrition value of the recipe. In the example above, I want all ingredients to have nutrition values - Onions, Beef, Salt, Pepper, and Bun, and be able to calculate Burger’s nutrition by summing up nutrition of its ingredients. So, Burger’s nutrition is equal to sum of Cheese, Bun and Patty’s nutrition. Patty’s nutrition is equal to sum of Onions, Beef, Salt and Pepper’s nutrition. But I cannot do that, because if I try to reference Nutrit

I want to create a template that I can share with my clients, one that they would then own and I would not see the results of. For example: I assign each of my clients a social media audit spreadsheet. They fill it in with their profile information (including usernames and passwords) and move forward using it when working on their training. There is no reason for me to have access to their information, thus I’d love to make it a template they would use (and BONUS begin their relationship with airtable through)

Hi guys, is it possible to make the chart rows scalable? A smaller font and / or less / selectable spacing between the rows would be great! IMHO there’s way too much spacing by default (almost two rows when you add top & bottom space for each row!?)…

So I don’t need to add the Last Modified Time column to every table.

Windows have the database in a spreadsheet format, but not on Android and ipad. This is so important because I can see more information on the spreadsheet format. Should be able to switch easily between spreadsheet and card format for viewing.

Please consider adding the option to upgrade to a permanent record activity record - I am using the system for HR management and a permanent record would be VERY useful.

It would be helpful if the rating field becomes a scale field where we will be able to set the numbers on the scale and add text for example.

Hello, I have a percentage column it’s works well on windows for example display 90% and with the android application the display is 1. When you update on Android to 90, then in the windows it’s displayed 9000. Can you correct this bug? Thanks.

Would be helpful it be able to group and color code views in the drop down menu for easier visibility.

Read-only, Commenters, and Editors should NOT be able to see another user’s personal view. The only people who should have this access are Owners and Creators. I don’t care if they can edit the data or not, I don’t want them to see the data. I set up a read-only account, and I can select to hide or view personal views, but that should not even be on option on the RO, Commenter, and Editor levels. Thanks for your attention to this!

I understand the conditions you don’t allow - referencing record links in primary field formulas - but it it far too limiting. This is a huge, very frustrating issue for me. I’ve gone at length looking at solutions to get around it, but honestly, they’re all so much more data entry and work that it’s not worth the time or effort. All I want is for the record name, in other tables, to be searchable and addable by a formula-able name, or there’s no point. And I’m never trying to do anything that would create a circular reference anyway. (That I’m aware of) It would make things so much simpler if you just threw an error in the field when it tried to calculate and it actually created a circular reference, instead of refusing any situation that might possibly create one. Please? If not… I need a simple solution/tutorial, that actually fits those needs, and doesn’t require 6 records for every record I want entered and searchable on other tables by a formula-based

I find it strange that with the release of the blocks platform, users cannot create personal block views/dashboards. I think it diminishes the brilliance of blocks, and is definitely killing adoption for us. The single blocks view isn’t very useful when we have dozens of people using our base, all needing to look at different facets of the data. One of my co-workers said … “until blocks have personal views, they’re dead to me”

The Last modified time is a game changer and exceptionally useful. I was wondering if there are any plans (or is there any way just now) to obtain the name of the collaborator who was last to update a record. I fully appreciate with API integrations on the increase and updates coming from more than just the airtable front end itself, but I’d really like to be able to determine who last updated a record in airtable if possible…thanks

It would be helpful to get a daily digest of changes via Slack, rather than getting a notification whenever ANY change is made. Currently, we get a notification when someone fixes a typo, which is making our Slack channel too crowded with update notifications. Wouldn’t even have to be a full breakout of everything that changed. Every 24 hours, see if any records have changed, and, if so, provide notifications about those changed records only.

If I have a lookup field for a date, it loses its data type as a “date” and I cannot create a timeline block or place events on a calendar. The only solution seems to be making a new column with the data type of “date” and copy/pasting the lookup field info over… manually, every time there is a change or new entry.

When I double click in a date field i a record, it brings up a calendar with the current date highlighted. It would be fantastic if at that point, if I just pressed the enter key, then the current date would be be popped into the field. As it is now, I have to lift my fingers and move the cursor over the calendar to today’s date or the Today button and click it. If entered lots of new records, this gets tedious. And I’d think entering the current date is what people are doing quite often.
