Not a full feature request as this is available in the browser version. Having the ability to tag other users in fields when using the Android app would be extremely helpful.

Your mobile app supports barcode scanning in the search/find field via use of the camera. We’d LOVE to see this functionality extended to your desktop app. Being able to scan barcodes via the built-in cameras in our laptops and iMacs would be HUGE for users who don’t have a dedicated laser-scanner. I am a bit mystified as to why the share option for files in an attachment field does not yet contain support for the use of the iCloud files folder, a native service of the OS. If I want to download a file from Airtable to my iPad (other than to Dropbox I think…), I have to take the option to open it in Safari and then I can use the share services of Safari to add to my iCloud folder. Not at all intuitive and imho, clumsy. Very happy to be set straight as have no mortgage on Airtable insight! :blush:

I would like the Airtable Android app to log my texts and calls.And my emails for that matter. I want to use this to auto-fill records in my Airtable powered crm

I think some tables requires that the new records are on the 1st row not the last, I know there are sorting options that could do that but I would like to see that as an option (top to bottom or bottom to top)

I love the Page Layout block, but would like the option to edit my data right in that view. Is that possible? Or an already-established feature request? Sorry if this is posted somewhere else.

I have a table with “projects” which are linked into a second table with todos, when filtered, and I add a new item, the linked column value would be the value that matches what would allow the new row to be seen in the filtered view.

I searched but did not find anything mentioning this particularly (if I missed it, apologies!). I love the ability to open a linked record from a different table, but finding the one you want when there are many choices is an annoyance. Example: a basic address book Table of companies with a companion Table of contacts. Each contact name field has been linked to a ‘contacts’ field in a specific company record. When the company table is viewed, the contacts listed in that field show in the order in which they were linked to each company record. Adding & linking a contact for new Joe Salesdude, bumps the person you talk to the most, Alice Viceprez, from the top of the list. Currently the only way (I have found) to control which contact record is foremost for any given company record with multiple contacts is to: open the contact desired to show first; unlink it; re-link it I realize this is likely due to the same issue holding up the requests for persistent sorting I saw mentione

It would be nice to be able to set a custom tool tip in the dashboard/card view so that if I hover over a card, it show’s the text/value of a selected field attached to the card.

It would be nice to apply groupings based on whether a certain condition is met. My main use case here is keeping track of music releases where some entries have only one main recording artist/band, while others have multiple (splits). While I’m referencing each artist’s side of a split as a separate entity, I’d like to still be able to keep each release grouped together if possible. Something as mocked up in the image below where entries are first grouped by their release type (LP, Split), and then if it’s classified as a “Split” release, apply a grouping by the release name: While there are a number of ways I can think of to get around the appearance side of this issue, most don’t cleanly (if at all) address any needs I may have to compare artist C’s data vs artist D’s data on their B split release, all the while looking at all other releases I’m keeping track of as well. Currently I just stick with the simple format grouping as shown below, which works okay, and I get by with that

Have you considered a Wordpress plugin to display data from bases on web pages? I know I could embed a web page view in a Wordpress page, but a plugin would be cool.

So for a ton of our views on our main Base we need to constantly sort them to keep everything in order and fresh. I would love autosorting, and I’ve thrown my hat in for that request, but this would be a much more straightforward stopgap to autosorting: Have a button next to the “↑↓ Sort” button that says “Sort NOW” or whatever that instantly applies whatever the current sort is for that view. That’s the dirty way. However, I think it would be waaaaay better to just keep the “↑↓ Sort” button but make it into a split button dropdown where you click/tap the main button to sort using that View’s current sort settings and clicking the disclosure triangle opens the sort options modal window. I can’t even express how happy something like this would make me! It seems like a tiny detail, but having to open the sort options window every time you need to sort adds a surprising amount of friction.

First off, I really love Airtable and am rooting for this company to progress and be able to serve up a more finished product. But I am starting to get worried with the lack up updates and lack of progress on important feature requests we all want. Most of all, I am concerned with the lack of feedback from Airtable staff on what is happening. They used to comment in this forum all the time and provided great feedback. What happened? There are a lot of examples where tech companies, I’m calling you out Microsoft and Google, provide a great new product idea. But they end up leaving it 80% complete and eventually abandon the product altogether. I would love to use Airtable for literally everything, personal and professional, but I am reluctant to put more into Airtable until I see that Airtable is committed to providing a finished product and listening to user feedback. Specifically, what I am waiting for are the following: Better back up options that let us automatically back up to Drop

Would it be feasible to have optional spell checking for fields? This needs to be optional to allow for columns which would regularly have values which would not pass a check.

Where there are a large number of images in a single attachment field in Expanded view, the user has to do a LOT of scrolling to get past them - would it be possible to improve the UI here? For example, provide display of, say two rows with an option to expand or scroll the image display area?

Would it be possible to scale images in expanded view so that the whole image is visible in the box - here’s an example of where it does NOT:

Pull the items closer together, move the check boxes right next to the items, and remove the grid lines. Make it available on mobile. I already have a checklist View using grouped fields. But it’s visually too much. And it’s not in mobile.

The current shortcut menu show the command on the left and the action on the right. People don’t look up an action to see what it does. Rather, they look for the action they want and its related shortcut. I want to know, for example, how to toggle the table switcher not what CMD J does, but the current keyboard shortcut table doesn’t help find that. You have to search for the action. That is, the left hand column should be an alfa list of actions and the right hand column the keyboard shortcut.

Hey, it would be nice to change the box size from the “find an existing record” box like the windows in a normal OS.

Is full Sharing Permissions at Table level on the product roadmap? If not is this something that can be considered? Creating a separate Base is often not ideal as it limits linking functionality. Thanks, L.

Date entry in date fields always require the date to be specified exactly. I’d like to see a possibility to enter dates relative to today, e.g. “Tomorrow” and “In 7 days” Today is Sep 7th, when I enter “Tomorrow” the date entered would be translated to “Sep 8th” and so on.

I would like to know what Airtable’s priorities are so far as features are concerned and I would love to see a wish list voting system such as the one webflow runs. There is a big feature request list. I realise blocs must be a big focus for now.

As we ramp up this product for our team, it’s becoming increasingly evident that a better messaging/commenting tool would make Airtable MUCH more useful. The current commenting system (which is oddly mashed together with the revision history) is too hard to get to… and sometimes a conversation isn’t specifically related to just one record. The ability to “send record” via email is just too cumbersome for repeated conversations with fellow collaborators, especially since the recipient has to be manually entered every single time. And though products like Slack can help, it’s just not as seamless as we’d like. I’d love it if there were just a Block or something that allowed collaborators to @mention each other AND tag/link specific tables, records, and fields.

My team uses Airtable for project management. It’s literally been the best, most flexible piece of software we could ask for, to create our own pm system. However, a feature that is sorely lacking is the ability to group by computed fields and still drag and drop records. This would allow our pm system to automatically change the status of “Individual” to “Team” if more than one assignee is added to a project or task, but allow us to move it back to “Individual” if one team member finishes their part of the project/task. My recommended solution is: When a user drags and drops a record from one group option to another group option, Airtable prompts the user in a modal to select/deselect an appropriate option from the field(s) that controls/effects the computed group field for that record.
