Wondering if there’s a way for columns to appear/disappear or gray out depending on a column selection. For example: I’m creating an inventory of fountain pens and inks. Some columns are specific to other answers. In this sample, the # of cartridges column is only relevant when “Cartridge” is selected under the Type column. Is there a way to gray it out or have it automatically display an answer?

Weighted Average is a critical formula for most “summary bar” type reporting and data table summation. For example, if we are calculating the percentage over or under budget a handful of tasks are in aggregate, we need the Weighted Average formula to ensure that tasks of different cost levels are properly reflected in the summary bar for percentage over or under budget. This would be a nice step in expanding the usefulness of the summary bar. Thank you, Tony

It would be really nice if you could hit something like ctrl+shift+enter to insert a new row, and then start in the first column to speed up data entry. I find myself having to shift+tab all the way back to the first cell to start on the next line.

I’m not finding a current solution to this, so I’m wondering if there’s a way to do this now. If not, please consider this a feature request. I’d like to be able to export a calendar event from my outlook calendar into Airtable in order to populate a few fields, like name, date/time (Begin), date/time (End), location, and description. Is there a current solution or work-around for this?

When I view my attachment docs, they no longer appear large enough to read. They used to open to fit the screen. This is no longer the case, and I’m seeing no way to expand the size of the view. This problem appears in both Chrome for Mac (V. 62.0.3202.94) and Safari.

Showing the total sum of the selected cells (not each column)

Something so simple to do in Excel, but is lacking here without writing complicated formulas, and even then it won’t autosum the column as it doens’t recognise the data type. I would like to be able to enter a duration I spent on each task as HOURS:MINUTES. Each record is a task I’ve completed. I will then be able to Invoice the Client based on the addition of each tasks duration.

I setup a air table to manage our rented equipment. I have one table with all the items we rent which links to our Rental table listing which items are out. I would love if i could add linked item using my iPhone/iPad by just scanning the barcode on the item. I know i can search for an item with the barcode but it would be great if i can add multiple items to a linked column via scanning the barcode. In that same vain it would be great if the calendar view we could show duration. Say something was out for two weeks or 2 days it would be great to see that in the Calendar view.

The ability to add a new filtered view to quickly access it just like the grid, calendar and other views.

I would like to reorder my teams so that the most frequently used teams would be on top and then everything else would be below.

I think the title says it all lol, it would be really nice to be able to print selected rows without having to filter the ones I want

Some of my bases are used for logging (i.e. logging meal times). It would be great to have a widget that quick adds a record, or just opens a specific filterview in a base’s table.

I love Airtable! I have a feature request. I created a form for my family to add gift/wish items for Christmas and Birthdays. I created a view for each member so they can’t see their gifts requested so they will not know if someone purchased a gift for them, you know keep it a surprise. My request is to allow people who receive private links of table views a location in the iOS app so they can quickly find their shared links. This particular gift base has three private link views for each person in my family. A view of all the gifts requested - minus their gift requests. A form view to make gift requests. A form view to record a gift purchase (still working on this one - I need to figure out how to filter only the gifts not purchased) It would be nice if this view of links was set up like the bases. So as a user I would see the name of the Base and then under it the views I have access too. Thanks for your consideration! Lisa

Linking records seems to me to be the least exploited, most powerful feature on Airtable. I love the feature, but it seems to lack some continuity, IMO. Almost a head-scratcher to neglect. If I can say so respectfully. :confused: I’m looking for three very closely related things: If you can set a record link column to ‘single select’, why can you not arrange Kanban views by that column? This would make things amazingly easy in several of my boards. (For example, I have an phylogeny studies board where I group animals into a separate table of families; currently, I have to have a separate single-select list, and frequently update them to match so I can view and organize in Kanban view.) It makes a lot of sense to be able to group by self-joins in a sort of hierarchical or nested view. This is basically the number one feature I’m feeling the need for. Similar to here. Hierarchical views? If this needs to be a dedicated ‘parent’ type of link for that to work, or if it requires singl

Please add a car icon, or perhaps multiple (car, SUV, truck, sports car, etc)

We have customers that we need to share data with, but Airtable’s app is too confusing; they have to navigate bases and tabs to find the right one. I want to just present them with a view directly to the base & table they need. I can only embed a read-only view, and the app doesn’t have a way to deep-link to a specific table that I know of. Would love a way to do this, so I don’t need to create a whole separate database application to re-implement Airtable using Firebase.

It would be great if the field name displayed at the top and/or the bottom of the screen so I could see what is supposed to be in them as I cursor across a table. I see the tool tip when I mouse over the name, but if i’m just tabbing through, it’s hard to know what’s there. A related idea: I’d love to see an Excel/Sheets style input box in the title bar to make it easier to edit cells where the contents are not entirely displayed.

There are many feature requests for the Galley View and I hate to pile on, but my request might help some of the others. I wish we could “turn over” Gallery and Kanban cards to reveal other fields. I often tweak a certain view just so, arranging columns just right and getting superfluous cruft out of the way and wish there was an easy way to apply that arrangement to other views, but there isn’t. I expected the option in ‘Copy another View’s Configuration’ but didn’t find it. Actually, the options that are offered to copy, I don’t think I have ever had a need for, but arranging and hiding I have wanted often, so I’d like to see those options added if possible!

The CREATED_TIME function is very useful. I think UPDATED_TIME would be just as useful.

This would be a super useful thing… unless i’m completely blind and it already exists? eg. i’ve built a custom base, but having trouble sorting out how to approach a certain data set and there is a simple template with just a couple tables that has it figured out already,… it would be awesome to be able to import that template into the base i’ve already spent hours working on…

I would like to see some Table Formatting options. For example, having every other line be slightly colored makes it easier for the eye to track across a wide table. If you sort the table, the formatting should be reapplied so the table stays “striped”.

When clicking on a record URL that shows up in the iCal feed of a table, it should directly lead to the Airtable app so we can edit the records directly. Now these links lead to a view where the records are non-editable.

I have a base where I am using a checkmark to show a task is completed. Since there will be multiple people with access to the base, I would like there to be an option where if you check the checkbox you will have to verify using your own pin. This will create a digital signature with time stamp so I can verify who did what. There are other ways to show that a task is completed and by whom, but none of those are really secure or effective the way I want to use my base.

I would love for there to be a way to filter out the options that appear when linking a record. For example, if I have a table for monthly events and a separate table for RSVPs (with a form view to RSVP), I would want to be able to link to an event record to associate that person’s RSVP with that event. But if an event has passed, it will still show up in list of available records to link, both in the grid view and form view. I would love to be able to filter by a checkbox (event completed) or filter by a date field (everything today or in the future). Thanks!
