"Add/delete records inline" option split into two options

It would be useful to have the "Add/delete records inline" option split into two options: Add records inline and delete records inline.There are scenarios where it is convenient to be able to delete records but we would like to limit inline addition.

Conditional Visibility for Interface Fields

What is the proposed idea/solution?The ability to define a condition for an interface field to be visible How does is solve the user problems?I have a table that includes one record type. However, the table is populated by two different sources that contain different types of information. The current interface page, with all fields visible, looks noisy and can be confusing to internal users. If I had the ability to hide empty fields, it would be a major UI/UX improvement. How was this validated?It has been requested internally by several users.Who is the target audience?Internal company users.

Allow sorting into columns on day view in calendar

What is the proposed idea/solution?When viewing an individual day in the Calendar view, it would be helpful to apply a sort so that the records are aligned in their own "columns" within the Calendar view. For example, if we sort by "Executive," it would be helpful to have all records with "Executive A" aligned to the left of the daily Calendar view, then "Executive B" aligned to the right of that, then "Executive C" aligned to the right of that, and so on. See the attached image for how Airtable currently sorts the calendar--each executive is color-coded but the records are scattered across the calendar rather than aligned neatly into individual columns.How does is solve the user problems?It is difficult to track records linked to specific fields in a calendar view, especially if there are multiple events happening on the same day that occur at the same time. Allowing users to sort into columns based on specific fields (in this example, a single select field for "Executive") would stre

Interface - "pick elements" - searchable / sort

When creating an Interface, you can choose which fields to be addes from the start. The "pick elements" is not searchable, nor can you order the fields. Both would be very timesaving features.

So let me get this straight… everyone who uses Kanban view and actually sorts their records ends up seeing this same screen as the introduction to their view because AirTable won’t let people hide Uncategorized from view? Whose idea was that?

ARRAY_FIRST and ARRAY_LAST

I would like to use a ARRAY_FIRST() and a ARRAY_LAST() function, taking an array as argument, and resulting in the first (or the last) element of this array. For now, I have to ARRAY_JOIN(my_array, ",") first, and the look after the string before the first “,”… which is a little tricky and need 2 formulas. ARRAY_JOIN(my_array, ",") → my_joined_array (formula 1) IF(FIND(',', my_joined_array) = 0, my_joined_array, LEFT(my_joined_array, FIND(',', my_joined_array) - 1)) → the final value (formula 2) I would like to write ARRAY_FIRST(my_array) as an unique formula… Thanks, Rémi

Easy way to watch comments automatically for all

What is the proposed idea/solution?...Create a way to watch comments for multiple items / all items by selecting a box, and watch comments for all. Currently it is a very manual process and I waste a lot of time making sure I am receiving comment alerts for all records How does is solve the user problems?...I don't have to manually perform this task if there was a way to do this in bulkHow was this validated?...I am able to do this with other platforms but I cannot in Airtables Who is the target audience?...project managers, or gate keepers for info in a certain project base

Bulk Notification Turn Off

What is the proposed idea/solution?To be able to turn off notifications for all records within a database besides when you are @ mentionedHow does is solve the user problems?As an administrator I create 100's of records and and constantly bombarded with emails everytime there is a comment or change.How was this validated?This would make the program more user friendly as previous systems we have used such as Monday.com have this featureWho is the target audience?Everyone

Airtable has terrible inbox comment spam and no tools to fix it

This has been driving me crazy for years now. Airtable is incredible, and I use it for so many things, but it’s never been suitable for high-quality collaboration because the email/notification system is really feature poor.The way @mentions, collaborator fields, and instant notifications work, it’s a total inbox nightmare.I realise Automations are one way of changing how emails and notificaitons work, but they only add to the inbox pool, as you cannot disable or change notification settings on a base-by-base basis.What’s even more frustrating is how simple these would be to fix with a few base-wide settings.Disable ALL notifications except @mentionsDisable “Watching” on recordsDisable “Auto-Watching” when a collaborator is assigned to a recordAny variation of those would instantly fix these issues for a lot of threads I’ve seen with similar complaints. Someone called it a “boy who cries wolf” inbox situation.Another, probably more complicated fix, would be queueing email notifications

Airtable Hosted Tableau WDC

This feature request is for an Airtable hosted Tableau WDC (web data connector) for easy connection to Tableau from Tableau Desktop/Tableau Server. Another app that makes this dead simple is Wrike Connect Tableau and Wrike – Wrike Help Center Sample code written by a Tableau employee: Glitch :･ﾟ✧ Being able to easily connect Airtable to Tableau Server so that reports can be accessed by leadership in our org on Tableau Server is a top priority for us. Thanks!

Quick annotations tools for images

Hello 🙂When an image is added in a cell, the only thing we can do on it is to add comments, which is fine but not sufficient IMO. A great addition would be the ability to make quick drawings (crosses, lines, rectangles for example) on an image. That would help a lot here !Thanks,Regards.Nicolas Caplat

Make it easy to add multiple linked records to a cell

It would be great to have a native solution to this problem.Let’s say I used the SendGrid block to email all Users in a certain grid view.Now I want to document that the email was sent out to them in a separate Emails table.Currently I have to manually add each emailed user to a linked Users field.Instead, it would be great to have a method of automatically adding multiple linked records to that linked cell.Here are two approaches to this:1. Add a new paste optionIf someone has a linked cell selected:And then pastes a few records, I should get the option to add them to that cell (as long as they include a valid primary field that matches existing records).For what it’s worth, all you need to do for this to work is replace newlines with commas2. Bulk add everyone from a given viewSimilar to how SendGrid can automatically send emails to everyone in a filtered view, allow the addition of multiple records at once.Right now, adding 20 people to a sent email is really complicated and frustra

Long Text Field

What is the proposed idea/solution?The long text field in airtable currently does not support addition of images and videos directly. A user has to use an embed code to do this which can become too technical for users without a coding experience. How does is solve the user problems?The long text field should support a format like this with all the controls, so that users can add images and tables.  How was this validated?Research on other tools that support this and also user feedback.Who is the target audience?Users withou tech or coding experience

See Who's Online (sharing)

After doing some searching in the community and on Google, I haven’t found if this has been requested yet (or is even available already). Is there a way to see who is online on your base currently. I can see my team doing things occasionally, but that’s only if I’m looking at specific table and happen to see a little icon/box highlighted. I’d love to see an icon in the upper right (or somewhere) of who is currently looking at a base.

Chart/Sparkline Element in Interface Record Layouts

What is the proposed idea/solution?Create a way for users to add a chart element to interface record layouts, similar to currently available elements for pages. This would be an especially helpful feature if the layout version was capable of displaying a record summary.For example: I have a table of people with fields for how much they've contributed in a year (one field per year). A chart in their record could display each of the values as a trendline. Values could easily be stored as linked records in a separate table if it makes grouping them together for summary easier.How does is solve the user problems?This feature would make summary data available at-a-glance on the record level, expanding upon Interfaces existing able to ease access to base and table-wide information.Who is the target audience?Any user relying on Airtable to store and review customer data, particularly those needing to review individual trends over time....

Alignment - or Fixed Sizing ability for Lists with Prefix showing in List in Interface

So I am creating a Daily list of activities/clients to as a prototype to show the client an idea for better workflowIn Edit modeIn Published mode - as you can see It would be really nice if I could adjust the width of the column for Account name so the Activity and Account Name are properly aligned instead of this.

Feature request - Photos taken within form to also save to device

I have around 150 field techs that upload completion reports to my Airtable base. the process needs to be clean and simple as a lot of the techs are subcontractors and just getting them to use my Airtable form can be a challenge.One issue I have is that photos captured within the form are not also stored on the device, unless they take the photo first, then open the form, and select the image from their phone gallery. This process is a little cumbersome.90% of the time there is no problem but occasionally the form must be failing on submission so the entries do not show up, and when I ask the techs to resubmit they don’t have a copy of the images on their phones. So I need to pay for them to return to site and get photos again.I’ve tried to get them to take photos first, then open the form… But it’s just not as user friendly to do this.Is it possible for photos captured within the form while using a smart phone, to also save to the users device?

Scientific Notation for Number Fields

I work with a lot of very big or very small numbers… representing numbers in scientific notation would really make life way easier. As I understand it, the only way to represent numbers are with integers or decimals (with customizable precision)… or percentages or currency formatting as different field types. Numbers in scientific notation could be stored in text fields, but formulas don’t work with them. I suppose I could use two fields with the decimal in one field and the exponent in another…but…come on…

Move a group of Interface elements as a group

What is the proposed idea/solution?When you have put multiple Interface elements in a "group", you should be able to move that "group" in 1 go. Now, you have to move 1 element at a time, which means you have to rebuild the group again. How does is solve the user problems?Time saver!Who is the target audience?Everyone building in Interface

Add ability to count unique entries of reference fields

What is the proposed idea/solution?Similar to how you can count unique entries of single option select fields in shareable view links, I'd also like to have this for the reference fields.  How does is solve the user problems?I'd like to count the unique values as well.How was this validated?Not sure I understand what this means.Who is the target audience?Users who look at the data on airtable views.
