What is the proposed idea/solution?When importing data to a base from, for example a CSV, it would be extremely useful to be able to set static values on some columns.Eg: I'm importing bank statement data and I would like to manually set the bank account name in a column as I'm importing. Eg: I would like to give an ID to this import so I know all the rows which were imported. How does is solve the user problems?Saves time having to do it later and also possibly losing the How was this validated?In my brain. Who is the target audience?Everyone who imports data

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add two of the same options that are available in the view dropdowns from the side menu of views to the TOP menu view dropdown when in a view. Particularly the 'Add/Remove from favorite view' and the 'Move to section' options. ...How does is solve the user problems? It seems like design consistence and eases user experience to also be able to make these modifications from that top view dropdown rather than having to scroll through the side menu views to do so...How was this validated?...Who is the target audience?All Airtable users who are trying to save time when organizing their views ...

What is the proposed idea/solution?Frustratingly there's still no Max_Date() or Min_Date() function to use within formula fields. What is the proposed idea/solution?The current Interface Designer is great, but it can be a bit difficult to make every field we need visible organize on a blank page that fits our needs. It would be great if there were widgets that allow for the collapsing of a group of fields or organizing them into clickable pages.  How does is solve the user problems?Make it easier to demonstrate steps and phases to projects.  Instead of having every stage laid out on one part. Clicking right or left or collapsing and uncollapsing parts of the record can show different applicable fields.How was this validated?Simply that if one "page" is not completed per guidance set by the creator, one cannot move on to the next phase.  or just organizing field attributes in a box that will allow for page creation.Who is the target audience?Companies that use AirTable to create work flows for employees

I love using Single & Multiple Select Fields when designing my bases. This option helps keep the data consistent and saves data entry time. My list of possible options usually is long in these fields and I am struggling to edit them in the space provided in the pop-up window. I am particular about the way I sort them. Sometime alphabetically doesn't do the trick and I need to manual drag and drop them in order. However, I am finding this very hard to do bc the window size of the Single & Multiple Field Editor is so small... I can basically only see 2-3 lines at a time. Also, sometimes I want to see the whole list at one time so I can make evaluations on the content within each list and what needs to be edited or removed. I looked to find a way to expand the Single & Multiple Field Editor, but the feedback that I received through the AT Community was the only way to do this was through the Kanban view or possibly a 3rd Party extension.  Would it be possible fo

When choosing a linked record in the linked record field, the records in the “list of records to choose from” often appear in an unpredictable order. This can be difficult & frustrating.We really need our list of record choices to be in a predictable sort order, either based on:(a) The record order of the FIRST VIEW of the linked table (when we’ve turned OFF the “limit record selection” view).or(b) The record order of the SELECTED VIEW (when we’ve turned ON the “limit record selection” view).Having our “list of record choices” appearing in an unpredictable order makes it very difficult to work efficiently with Airtable.Now you might be thinking — wait a second, this feature works for me!Well, yes, it SOMETIMES works, but much of the time it DOESN’T work:If your records on the linked view are grouped & sorted, Airtable ignores the grouping but respects the sorting. I’m having the same problem as this post Group by date rather than datetime - #3 by Jason_CarlinGrouping by date with time creates a new group for each time for the same day not for just the day, I tried creating a new formula column with just the date and grouping it but having it grouped by a formula removes the option to ad cell to the group and cannot paste several cells either

Considering this tool is all about automation, I'm surprised there's no way to move filters between tables. It would be very handy to have an option to transfer/export/migrate filters from one table to another easily. Especially useful when using sync tables and you need the same filters set up etc. Otherwise this just creates a lot of additional manual work on top of everything else that can be automated.Edit: I would also add to this idea the option to transfer/sync the views as well, otherwise that can be another lot of manual work to recreate if there's lots of complex views on a table

What is the proposed idea/solution?...Add either an ellipsis or a small triangle at the corner of a cell that contains additional data that cannot be seen readily, most obviously in the case of a Long Text field when viewing in Grid view at a short row height.How does is solve the user problems?...Users might not be aware that important additional content might be present in a cell, especially if row height is short. A simple visual indicator would distinguish between cells where the content is self-evident, versus cells that must be clicked on to see additional content.How was this validated?...I don't know.Who is the target audience?...All users.

What is the proposed idea/solution?At times, there comes a need to solve View Form and Silo'd base limitations by "chaining" two forms together (both from different Bases) with a redirect from the first form to the second. This is overly useful when data resides in two separate bases, but needs to be collected from both and placed into the final form of Base B. Useful for situations where Base Sync is not desirable (such as the Base Sync inflating the record numbers in the sync'd base to unacceptable numbers). Thankfully, by using the View Form re-direct, Form A can then load Form B. When Form B is finished, a script Automation can return the Form A record (from Base A)  and update the newly created Form B record (that resides in Base B). But... the redirect message that prompts the user to wait whilst between forms is confusing, the wait is annoying.TLDR; I'd like to see an option to remove the View Form redirect wait and message, and allow a more seamless user experience up

What is the proposed idea/solution?Add a customization to Date Columns that allows users to choose what part of the date they want displayed. For instance, having "April" or just "2022" could benefit the Pivot Table app.  ...How does is solve the user problems?It would eliminate needing a formula column and an automation to produce these results. ...How was this validated?...Who is the target audience?...Users that want to analyze their data with a pivot table. 

I'd like to request the ability to choose a solid color (or even a gradient would be awesome!) as a form header instead of only being able to upload an image. Not hugely crucial, but I don't want to have to export a bar of color as an image to be able to have a solid color behind the form and logo.

My automations would be much easier to maintain if, instead of duplicating an automation for each possible trigger, I could have an action in another automation that triggered it.For example, I would like to send a certain email any time a button is pressed, and also under certain conditions if a form is submitted.Instead of having two identical automations with different triggers, I'd like to have:one automation based on the button press that sends the email (and does nothing else), anda form-triggered automation with a couple actions (unrelated to the email) and a conditional action that triggers the button-press automation to send the email. 

Simple Idea, I want to change a record in Interface via a button. My goal is to create a calendar with each month being a button. Clicking on that button would change the information on the dashboard just like a record picker. 

Hi all!  I think adding formatting options (bulleted/numbered lists, adding links onto text) and message reactions into the messaging of the activity panel would really enhance its use and overall functionality.How does is solve the user problems?Our company utilizes the activity panel a lot to provide feedback/notes for updates/etc. With longer messages, text in this panel gets hard to consume because there's no easy way to format with more structure and separate out action items. Also, when you just need to know that someone has seen your message in the activity panel, the only way to know they've seen it is for them to respond and @ you, which can then clog up the panel with unnecessary messages.Who is the target audience?Larger collaborative businesses, where lots of conversation needs to happen on records outside of the permanent fields

Is it possible to enter a date field with time enabled, but only have the time portion of it be visible? I need the date for calculations, but it will be self evident to the user so doesn’t need to be visible. Thanks!

Ability to have a default value for single select - would be perfect for forms filled by applicants in our HR process.

Hey everyone. Im trying to find an easy way to send all my tables to firebase or the real time database.I’d like to use the data from the tables to feed information into several different web apps.

What is the proposed idea/solution?Currently the timeline view allows the timeframe visible to be at the day level, and includes hourly granularity at this level.  It would be helpful to have hourly granularity on the timeline view, also when viewing a week, 2 week or month timeframe.  For example, we built a guest management and reservation system for our client. But in order to display the reservations in a single line by cabin on the week, 2 week or month timeframe on the timeline view we have to have the end date be one short day of the actual departure.  The alternative is to use the actual departure date, which is also the arrival date of the incoming reservation.  If we use the actual departure date, the reservations are forced onto two lines because they overlap at the day level. If we could have hourly granularity at the week, two week and monthly level, they would not overlap because checkout time is at 11am on the day of departure and time of arrival is 4

Hey folks, thanks for a great product. Simple request: Can you please incorporate the ability to create colored and/or highlighted fields? I’d like to call out certain rows within sheets. With the inferior, last generation sheets programs (shameless sucking up) I’d always used colors for this purpose. I realize I could use a column for this, but its a waste of a column in my mind, especially if you are trying to avoid scrolling left to right. Thanks for consideration.

What is the proposed idea/solution?...the gantt chart has a great feature to split multiple values (for a multi select field) into individual groups (see pic).  This allows items with multiple selections to show under each one without creating combination groupings (which aren't useful to me).  Unfortunately, this same feature doesn't exists for lists, resulting in those combination groups (which doesn't help me).  It would be great if the same feature was available for simple listsHow does is solve the user problems?...groups all items under a single group and does not create combination groupings.  Items with more than 1 selection show multiple times on the display under each group.   How was this validated?...Who is the target audience?...

I think it would be huge to have a field type that is a checklist that has defaults you can set. This would be a huge win for Airtable to add. 

It seems that if I want to use a custom format for my Date field, I need to create a Formula field and use DATE_FORMAT(). Would it be preferable in most cases to offer a 'Custom' option in the 'Date format' menu in a Date field's settings? (see attachment) This would then show a text field where one could input the same formatting string one would give DATE_FORMAT(). That way I would not need to create a 'proxy' field to display the date as I prefer.
