I’d love to see an option that scoops out which items of a list are not in use (anymore) and enables me to delete all these options from the list in one click.I’d also like to be able to combine values in the single & multiple select fields. Especially when you have accidentally added a bunch of records and made a typo in the field, which will then have caused a new option to be created. Ideally I’d open up the Customize field type screen, select two or more values and hit a button ‘combine’.I’ve been using the collectorz.com programs to catalogue my books & dvds for years and they have this option available, it’s an option that I highly appreciate and would love to see here, too!

Is it possible to upload files in bulk? I tried to do that but it put them all into a single record. Also, is it possible to link a data field to a specific PAGE in a pdf? (We’re a small law firm and receive large pdf files with multiple documents combined. So we frequently will bookmark to a particular page in a large file.)

Maybe I’m missing a trick, but it would be really handy to be able to group fields/objects together in Page Designer so they can be moved as one block, either by using a marquee tool or holding down CTRL while selecting?

It would be great if you could do more with buttons in Interfaces. For example, link to a from (with URL parameters) from a button so the user has to enter some data before making the change. Alternatively just a prompt for them to enter data when clicking it!

I love the ability to display Single-select and Multi-select fields as either a list or dropdown in forms, as it provides a much better visual indication of the options and just a better UX for survey respondents. However, this cannot yet be done for Linked Record fields, which makes their usage awkward in surveys (the options aren’t as discoverable and for a survey question that allows multiple-selection, a user has to manually click the “+ Add” button each time and select their choices vs. being able to select from a list all at once). I’d love to be able to link/tie a subset of view configurations between views of a table together, so that I can save time/maintain flow when temporarily adjusting a certain configuration that I want consistent across similar views.This normally comes up for me while I am doing planning for my week or during product planning. I have two or more views that are either variations on the same view (e.g. four calendar views titled “this week”, “next two weeks”, “this month”, “next month”) or similar views (e.g. a monthly calendar, a timeline view, and a gantt chart). When planning, I might have certain filters or colors that I am cycling through. I don’t love that I have to monkey with the views as I go to get them consistent. It totally ruins my flow, especially when I am doing some planning with others. I know I can use the “copy another view’s configuration” feature, but it is still ruins flow and there are some parts I don’t actually want to copy.See some of my thoughts on additional re

Feature requestIt would be great if the expanded record view could be customised separately from the grid view. From a UX perspective, it doesn’t make sense to set the field view of the expanded single record to the field view of the entire table of records. The use case for the grid view is distinct from the expanded record view e.g. I want to see more columns of data in the grid view which may guide me to the record. Since the expanded record is effectively a form view, the layout and default fields should be further custom. I guess this is similar to what Stacker.app are doing but it would be good to have it native in Airtable.

First Airtable. is. awesome. I which I knew about it before to help organize my work. Something I feel is missing though is a more powerful approach to deal with string-based functions. For instance, it would be great to be able to use RegEx in the FIND or SUBSTITUTE functions. A use case, e.g., is the extraction of part of a URL to use it as a primary key. It would allow me to name automatically a bunch of website links I wanna store. I.e., there’s a REGEXEXTRACT function in Google Sheet, this is extremely useful for numerous of applications.

I’ve been investigating the barcode scanning field/tool for inventory/asset management and have determined that you cannot currently scan a chunk of individual items with unique barcodes back to back and then update their location in a ‘mass/bulk edit’ type of action. We sell relatively expensive musical instruments that all have unique serial numbers so keeping track of their location at any given time is very important (for example, on trial with a client, at a tradeshow, in shipping, in repair, in the showroom, etc). With additional fields and data set up in a base we can plan when that instrument might be available for any new buyers that would like to get in line to try that instrument (which happens daily). Since we travel with so many of the instruments at one time it is great to just point and scan (via a handheld scanner for desktop, or via the camera in the AirTable app) all the barcodes of the instruments coming back from a tradeshow and change the status/location to ‘showro

Being able to respond to Google doc comments directly from Gmail is a killer feature.Airtable should add this support as well. Either specifically for Gmail or via some more generic just respond to email feature (like Jira and I assume almost all project management tools support)

Continuing the discussion from Calendar View based on Lookup field dates: Now that Lookup fields work for Calendar Views, please extend this functionality to Kanban View. My use case… I have a base that covers our video content management and review process. Three key tables and fields are: Table of Videos: Title, Description, etc. Table of Reviews, including fields for when the last review was, a formula for when the next review is due, and who will do the review. Table of Account users, including fields for people’s name, their role in video content management, email address, and a Collaborator field type named Airtable user. (Most, but not all of the team will have Airtable accounts.) I’d like Kanban Views of Videos / Reviews stacked by the Lookup field which references a single Airtable user. Videos / Reviews kanbans would be stacked by each Airtable user assigned. Any Videos / Reviews assigned to team members who aren’t Airtable users would be listed in the Uncategorized stack.

In our Kanban board, we have a To Do column and I’m sorting records by Due Date 1 -> 9. The problem is, some records have pre-assigned due dates and others don’t (they’re added later). And records which don’t have a Due Date are actually sorted above the records that do have a Due Date, which is the opposite of what I would expect when using this sortation. Any record that doesn’t have a due date should be at the bottom of the list and not at the top. We want to see tasks that need to be completed immediately and they’re buried by the tasks/records that don’t have any dates right now.

I would like to be able to choose “Histogram” as a summary option for single select fields, in order to get a quick overview over survey answers.I run the same survey repeatedly in Airtable in order to track product performance (as part of a larger design research base), and I collect it all in one table. I group the answers by survey iterations, and I collapse the groups in order to get a quick overview of the performance over time. Unfortunately, I can’t get this overview for single select fields.I have to use a workaround for this right now. I would ask something like “How was the experience?” and offer answers like “Broken,” “Annoying,” “Smooth.” In order to get a Histogram of those answers, I have to duplicate the field, switch out the words for numbers (1, 2, 3), and then convert it to a number field. I am currently using a few chart apps that use bar charts. We are transitioning some of our dashboarding to Interfaces and the charting in interfaces does not give me the same options as the chart app (i.e. unstacking y-axis values when grouped together). Is there any plan to upgrade interfaces to include functional options for such a transtion?

With webclipper I can easily find a I want based on css class or other selector, but there’s no way to have it clipped and then formatted correctly in my airtable. My airtable has an item per webpage (exam questions to review) and the explanations often include small html tables (one or two columns just text) that I currently have to import as a screenshot. So this would probably require a new field type that can draw html tables, and a new dropdown option in webclipper along the lines of ‘html table by class.’

Hi. I think that it will be very useful to have a built-in search in shared views (grid as well as gallery view) available from mobile phones. Sharing database with lot of information without possibility to find specific data makes shared view useless in some way. And since using Airtable from a mobile is a daily routine, the ability to search the database seems to me to be a feature of first necessity. I know that it possible to use browser “find on a page”, but that not so obvious and requires two additional clicks.Also, search in shared base is not always working well. I have a lot of bases now that have a large number of tables, but in some cases some of these tables are synced tables that just provide “background” data that is processed in other native tables. It would be useful to have the ability to “group” these synced tables together into a menu that could be toggled (or even locked) leaving just the ones where processing actually takes place visible across the top. Similar to how you can now group views in the sidebar.
