The ability to sort/filter OR group automations would be EXTREMELY helpful. I can easily see us having hundreds of automations and I also don’t want to even track down that path unless I know I can organize them after the fact. I’d almost rather just create super complex formula’s and additional columns to provide the solution I need, even though I know this is the right way to do it.Example mock-ups below!Thanks for all that you guys do. In my database (Architecture), The information I need the most is within the summary of a Group Category, rather than each individual record. In this context, the limit of 3 levels of grouping falls short in dealing with all variants of my framework. This limitation ends up producing too many views with filters to isolate the information needed (way above 50 views).WISHED FEATURE: 5 Layered Group CategoryThis really would transform the processing power of my database.

I have 15 different views in a single table and will duplicate the table 4 more times. In each table I just need to change one filter and it would be amazing if I could do a search through the views for a specific setting and change 1 single value, instead of having to go through 45 views and manually change it.

Currently within a view if you delete a filter you then need to set the entire thing up again to get it back. It would be handy in many situations to be able to ‘pause’ a filter. This would allow a single view to hold various commonly used filters and you would be able to turn them off and on as you’d like, rather than having to set up entirely new views for each individual filter combination.

Airtable have a loooot of potential for public informations sharing but is currently missing its opportunity. I would not pay for 1000 users as commenters but I would like to let 1000 users to give me their feedback on some records from a base in my Pro Plan.An easy way to do it would be to set “Commenter users” the same way as “Real-Only users”, not considered within the billing.Benefit for a company : Be able to gather a lot of feedbacks on multiples assets & data from the publicBenefit for Airtable : More customers & visibility. I work for a very small non-profit, as in only two part-time employee and a board that is completely volunteer based. I am easily able to keep my bases under the record limit to stay on the free plan. For example, my largest base has under 400 records (limit is 1200 for a free plan). I really love AirTable, but there are so many “upgrades” (upgrades that really seem that they should be included in a base plan) that I can’t use since I’m on the free plan. There is no way that we can be a paying client. We operate on a very small annual budget. Can’t Airtable offer some minimal upgrades to non profits that are on the free plan? For example, I can’t even send an email confirmation to people that are filling out my form because I’m on a free plan. Yes, I could integrate with something like Zapier, but that is making it unnecessarily complicated to do something so simple. I wish there was an option for non-profits to get some of the pro upgrades, even if it meant lowering the record

I love the new Base Schema block. As a content strategist, it has some really great potential applications. The degree of control in the settings, however, is far too limited to be useful for complex bases—which is likely to be a major use case. Some controls I’d need to have to be able to put this to practical use (in order of priority): Select which tables within a base to map Choose to map all fields, or only non-hidden fields. Apply specific colors to connection types that persist, not just on rollover Apply specific line type (e.g. dashed, dotted, solid) to connection types that persist, not just on rollover Additionally, I’d love to see the following enhancements: Export to PDF or PNG (table stakes for any visualization, if you ask me) Bézier control over the line curves I so want to be able to make good use of this block, and will continue playing with it in more simple bases. It would be helping a lot to have a feature working the same way as the Page Designer but it would create an input page. Actually I know a lot of people who would buy Airtable system only to be able to use this kind of feature.The form view is not optimal and ofter have too much space between Item. Please consider adding the ability to change the standard icon next to each view. As well as create a group by view type option. For our use case having the ability to put our client’s logo next to the view that is filtered to their records would be so helpful for quick scan selection of the view we want to open. Also, we use views as processes that trigger integrated automation based on what view the record sits in. Being able to add some “stoplight” or process icons would be game-changing.

Hello, can we please request the ability to create an expandable section block within the long-text field type when formatting is turned ON? Why this is useful: If I have a long text that spans multiple lines, I want the ability to “minimize” it so I can create sections in my notes, some that are expandable.

I want to be able to configure certain views so that I can quickly type in a different filter condition. I.e. for a particular view, I want to be able to “pin” a filter input box so that it appears in the top menu without me having to click and open up the whole filter panel. Here’s a mockup: I want this because I have a few views where I regularly use the filter to isolate a specific record or set of records by typing in a deal number or company name. A feature like this would end up saving me a lot of clicks!

Hi there, I use Airtable as a CRM and as such, I have to write notes in the sidebar (datestamped but non-searchable and can’t be pulled into another cell) or in a Long Text field (no formatting, no timestamps) What I’d like to be able to do is two things - Create individual notes entries, date stamped, editable (including the date and time entered), filterable (user, order etc) and searchable. Ability to pull in notes from all related fields into a single notes field (for example collect all notes from contacts that work at the same company).

There are a few requests for new functions to be added to the ones available to Formulas.I think it would be even better if user-defined functions can be made available to Formulas. They can be defined in a Scripting Block of the Base.Perhaps someday there can be a “eco system” of libraries of user-defined functions that can be shared among users.

It should be easy to send a confirmation to the submitter of a form. This should be a basic option. PLEASE.

It is cool that Airtable allows comments in any long text field, however that being the case, I’d like to suggest that any long text field should, at least optionally, be able to show the comments icon if someone has commented. Otherwise it’s possible for comments to be hidden. IOW what I assume many a project manager would do is scan through the first column and open those with comments to see the discussion. But if the comments are in a different long text field, there is no way to even know to click. Thanks for considering.

I am looking to add a column, “Comments”, where my users can add their comments to any row without worrying about overwriting existing comments. For example, Alice can attach a comment to a row and Bob can reply that comment on the same row without deleting Alice’s comment. How can I replicate such functionalities in Airtable?

Hi. I am new to Airtable, and am just starting to set my team up on it. So far, the biggest issue I have is this: my team mainly works away from computers. We are not constantly looking at our bases. While using Airtable as a mobile task/project management tool, it is impossible to know 1)if someone has completed a task, 2) if a task is overdue, 3)if a task’s status has been updated. It would be immensely helpful if someone who is “watching” a task could opt to be notified for any of these changes. Additionally, I think Airtable would benefit from creating more robust push notifications when someone is added as a collaborator or is mentioned in a row. For example: “You have been added as a collaborator in ‘To Do’ - Create invoice for new order - Due 07/07/17.” This notification can actually have an option to “Set a reminder.” That way the person responsible for the task can actually remember to do it (assuming that he or she can’t get to it right that very moment). We have “Description” texts for fields and views.They are displayed as tooltips for fields, and as a commentary in the views list. I suggest to add such “Description” field for each of the views settings: Hidden fields Filters Grouping Sorting Coloring Even sharing, why not.

It’s cool that you can manually click and drag to reorder records. But what if you want to temporarily apply an automatic sort, and then go back to your manual sorting? As far as I can tell, you would need two separate views to do this–and if you ever accidentally applied sorting to the manually sorted view, you would lose your manual sorting forever.Using two separate views isn’t ideal for me because I already have a lot of views and for my needs this would effectively double that already large number of views. And the risk of permanently losing my sorting makes it not really seem worth it.What I propose is some sort of ordenal sorting field… Essentially it would be the same as the numbers that currently appear on the far left in grid view, except that if you applied an automatic sort, those numbers would stay with the same record. I use Long Text for subtasks. It is important for me to be able to easily and quickly change the priority of these subtasks by reordering them. For example, if I had the list: Task 1 Task 2 Task 3 If my cursor was blinking on “Task 2”, I want to be able to press something like “Cmd + ↑” and it would switch the order of Task 1 and Task 2, like so: Task 2 Task 1 Task 3

I think it’s insane that there’s no way to group your bases within a workspace. It’s just a big ol’ base dump that grows more unwieldy by the day. All I want is to organize these by folders. Has someone figured this out yet??

Unless I’m missing something, there doesn’t seem to be a way to modify forms beyond adding or removing fields. It would be great if we could make even basic HTML/CSS changes (background colour, alignment etc), add labels or at least be able to lay things out differently. As a working example, I’d love to create a form for the first stage of a finance application. Part of this would require a table which would be filled out something like this: Credit Card | $50 /month repayment | $3,000 balance Personal Loan | $240 /month repayment | $15,000 balance There are a minimum of 5 rows in this table that users must complete. With the current form restrictions that means adding 10 questions which is a LOT of scrolling and makes it feel very cumbersome: If you have a credit card, what is the current balance? $3,000 If you have a credit card, what is the minimum monthly repayment? $50 And so on.
