We use our base to store information on our jobs for our company (including billing & payroll data) and would be nice to either remove the “Duplicate record” option or be able to choose specific fields to duplicate. The “Duplicate record” option would be EXTREMELY useful to us if i can control the information duplicated, otherwise it can be a nightmare.
Couple things I am afraid of:
One of our admin choosing to duplicate an old record similar to a new record, but not editing the necessary information, therefore over billing our client and over paying our employee.
One of our admin choosing to duplicate an old record similar new record, however that would trigger various unwanted ZAP’s dependent on state of the record.
Thanks.

It would be time-saving to be able to do a simple ascending/descending sort based on the file names within an attachment field.
It could be a setting accessible by the “Customize field type” window with 3 options. “Drag and Drop”, “A→Z”, “Z→A”
Note: The “Drag and Drop” option could be the default which keeps the original upload order, or the latest manual drag and drop reordering.
Who would like to have this feature?

Currently if you have a linked record field in a table, the New record creation window for the linked record defaults to the first view in that respective table.
With the option of ‘limit record selection to view’, the default view of the first view in the table doesn’t change. Am I incorrect for believing this specific record creation window should change to the view that the record selection is limited to?
My current work around is having an otherwise useless view that is only viewable by me as the first view in the linked table, so the users of my base aren’t confused by 47 irrelevant fields.
Change my mind. 🙂

With several use cases I have realized that managing records would be much easier if you could change linked fields by drag and drop between groups of fields but it doesn’t work like it does when records are grouped by input field types. One example: One table with a list of production orders and another one with linked production runs. When production orders are grouped by production runs it would be most convenient to move production orders to another production run by drag and drop instead of changing links individually for each record.

The Last modified time is a game changer and exceptionally useful. I was wondering if there are any plans (or is there any way just now) to obtain the name of the collaborator who was last to update a record. I fully appreciate with API integrations on the increase and updates coming from more than just the airtable front end itself, but I’d really like to be able to determine who last updated a record in airtable if possible… thanks

I would like to mark the time of year that something happens in the natural world so that it would appear on a calendar, every year. In Google Calendar, this is just a date field that is marked as “every year” but it could also just be a date field with no year. Another thing that would be handy for scientific applications would be the availability of the Julian Date as a date field. (I guess I can do that as a simple formula calculation though.) Thanks,

I have a rollup field on our Customer Tracker that concatenates the project stage for each of the projects associated with a single customer. I want to filter on projects that are post-implementation to flag CSM’s to update Customer health information. Currently, I can only filter on one entry, and when I had others into the filter, it filters out everything. Thanks

Being able to easily add different time periods for a record. I have a table to manage my tasks, and I need to work on some tasks in more than one occasion. There is no elegant solution for this. I think it is also necessary to be able to add these periods from a calendar view.

It is great that we are able to restrict the selection of a Linked Field based on view. What I really need is to be able to restrict the selection based on a kind of dynamic view. Here’s an example. I have Clients, Tasks and Expenses table. In the expenses table, I select a linked Client. I then select a linked Task. When I click to select the task, I am shown all tasks for all clients. I’d like to restrict the view so that I only see tasks related to the selected client. Is this possible? I think it would probably require having parameters in views and then the ability to set that parameter based on the value of a field or formula.

I have created a database to keep track of educational programs and I am finding that it would be very helpful if the time in a date-time field could be a range. For example: August 20, 2019 4:30 - 6:00pm. Right now, I get around that by doing the following, but then I have to fill in two separate fields and it would be great to have it in one.
