Right now I am converting my PDF forms into JPGs in order to upload them and utilize them on Page Builder. I am then creating table links to different portions of the form and basically creating an airtable fill-able pdf. My reasoning for utilizing this instead of just doing the online pdf is because I have portions of documents that need to be filled out by clients and it is much more convenient to send them a link to a form than try and mark up every part I need them to type. This also allows me to capture their response into my database so that I can utilize their information elsewhere. A one and done deal, I can export (automatically) the responses to a csv and directly import them into my title block on the software I use. I think adding pdfs to the static section of the page builder would be great, especially if it scaled the page by the pdf size.

What is the proposed idea/solution? You can "hide identical fields", but not computed fields (which can't be merged). Let users choose to also hide the computed fields. How does is solve the user problems? It will be easier to have an overview of the records when those fields are hidden. Less scrolling

What is the proposed idea/solution? A better and more flexible way to export views as pdf. How does is solve the user problems? Now the pdf export for views is very limited. There is no logo options, row dimension settings,.... How was this validated? Who is the target audience? People at meetings, users who still need to print to do lists for collaboration ( i'm an architect and workers on the field need information printed on paper)

What is the proposed idea/solution? When importing data to a base from, for example a CSV, it would be extremely useful to be able to set static values on some columns. Eg: I'm importing bank statement data and I would like to manually set the bank account name in a column as I'm importing. Eg: I would like to give an ID to this import so I know all the rows which were imported. How does is solve the user problems? Saves time having to do it later and also possibly losing the How was this validated? In my brain. Who is the target audience? Everyone who imports data

I would love to be able to import a list with an extra field that I define during the CSV import or contact card import. For example, I’d like to import a contact group with the field “Group” being something I can label as “Pearl’s College Friends” on the fly, for the entire import file. Since VCF format doesn’t have this built in it should have an option to include a single line of text, or a checkbox, or whatever during import. For the CSV import I suppose I could manually edit the CSVs before import to say what I want, but it would be great to do this in realtime during import as well, as recreating a CSV is a multi step process. It would be nice to be able to flag some fields in the “Import blocks” as just containing static values that relate to that type of import, that don’t exist in the source data. For example, 10 fields may come dynamically from the source file, but one might just be a static value of the source system etc.

Hi - I am wondering if it’s possible to automatically get Airtable to pull documents into a database from a certain folder on my desktop. I have a Mac. Is Automator a possible way to do this? Any guidelines would be great. Thanks!

Sorry if this is a duplicate but couldn’t find it. Among the options when adding a new table, it would be great if there was Import from Table (from same or another base), so that we could have an exact duplicate, including formulas and stuff. For example: I have two bases and I want to combine them. I can duplicate each base and keep history and comments, but if I want to duplicate a table from one base into another, I am left with pasting (not good for many records/fields) or CSV importing. In both cases, I lose all comments and history and rework most (for pasting)/all (in case of csv) of the fields.

Hi, In Google Spreadsheets, using the Importdata function, I am able to have a sheet update constantly with new data from my database (via a Metabase link or a Heroku Dataclip link). I would like to be able to do the same in Airtable. The links used by Google Spreadsheets end with .csv but instead of a 1-time import of the table, it synchronizes. Is there any way to do that in Airtable yet? Thanks for your help

I don’t know if the good folks at Airtable have a formal way to gauge popular features for implementation in upcoming updates, but here’s my request. If you like it, please say so in the comments and maybe we can get Airtable’s attention on it. I have a list of emails from a survey with some other fields, and I want to export a selection of those emails to CSV. My selection criteria is based on a long text field which could contain anything. My selection criteria hence cannot be made into a filter. Simply put: I just want to select a bunch of rows arbitrarily, and export that selection to a CSV file. That’s it!
