Here’s the use case: The XLM of a blog post has multiple elements. When importing this XLM to Airtable, you can’t have a multiple-select column with all the hashtags in it. You have the first hashtag by asking for /hashtags[1] but you can’t assign /hashtags[1] and /hashtags[2] to one field in your Airtable sheet. Cheers

Idea: Enable copy or export of pivot-tables in interfaces. This functionality already exists in the pivot-table extention in the data tab. But not in the interface tab. User problem: I need to use the data from the pivot table in another tool. Copying or exporting is not possible. Printing to PDF has its own issues. Validation: Scoured all over the internet for a fix and actually got nothing that would work. How does it solve it: It solves the user problem because its the easiest solution. Just allow me to copy my outcomes. Target audience: anyone that uses airtable but needs added functionality outside airtable. Enable copy or export pivot-tables in interfaces Extra information: Hi Guys, am working on a project were I use Airtable as database. I have an payd account. For cummunicating the outcomes of the project I use Flourish. The reason for this is because I need quite complex functionality for the graphs. Which airtable doesnt have and doesnt need to have. However, I cannot copy the Pivot table outcomes in the interface while keeping the table structure intact. Also, if i want to print the table to PDF and use OCR or Excel to extract the data to a structured table. I cannot always print the entire table, because the print-tool from airtable interface does not seem to understand that a pivot table can be bigger than 1 A4. The consequence is that it prints only partly, there is no option to scale. This functionality does exist in the pivot table extention in the data-section. However, the pivot table in the data tab misses some basic functionalities like aggregating.

When i’m using a lookup, conditionnal lookup or simply if there is a lot of attachements in a field. Its often horrible to download each one of them individually. It would be perfect to simply a button in the corner to “Download All” and then it could include everything in a .zip file.

Printing to PDF leaves the possibility of copying or opening in Word/Excel or using scripts to get all the data. Please add an option to disable “Print view”.

I’ve just been trying out the XML import block. It would be really useful for us, but you can’t currently import XML data into a field type which is “Link to another record”. You can do this with the CSV import block. It would be excellent if the XML import block supported this too.

Two product suggestions for the CSV Import Block: If our CSV file has a field in it that doesn’t already exist in our Airtable table, the CSV Import Block just completely ignores that CSV field. However, it would be great if the Import Block gave us the option to create new fields for any new fields that it finds in the CSV file. Please allow us to import fields into Long Text Fields, even if Rich Text Formatting is turned on. Currently, it’s a real bummer that the Import Block can’t import fields from a CSV file into a Long Text field, if the Rich Text Formatting option is turned on for the Long Text field. CSV files NEVER have any rich text formatting because they are simply plain text files, so I’m not sure why it would be a problem to simply import plain text into a field that has RTF enabled on it. As it stands now, the only way to import CSV files into a long text field is to turn OFF the RTF formatting option in Airtable — but then we lose all of the previous formatting that we had applied in that long text field. :frowning:

It would be really helpful if read-only viewers of public interface pages had the option of exporting grid-view content to a CSV (preferably matching their filtering and sorting). Currently (Feb 2025) the export to CSV option is only available to org members who are assigned to the interface and logged into Airtable. The option shouldn't be enabled by default, but we should have the choice to enable this if we want to. In our use case, we want external / public users — without Airtable access — to be able to view a simple price list and download it as a CSV.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Enable a staging/pre-prod environment for bases, and their associated interfaces and data. The solution should allow each base to be logically linked to a pre-prod base, with two-way syncing that is fired manually. Changes made in pre-prod should be easily pushed to prod, which would include adding/removing/editing: fields & attributes (e.g. name, formula, links, etc.) tables & attributes interfaces data (to allow for data staging and cleaning, especially for ETL/ELT purposes) data syncs should be optional, and provide the option to either completely overwrite or merge with existing data How does is solve the user problems? This allows users to make changes to either base structures, logic, or interfaces without affecting live / production data and interfaces. How was this validated? Staging and Prod environments are best practice in any development process. Who is the target audience? Everyone who values data integrity.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add more imported data from each email imported from Outlook via Automations. Specifically I'm missing "Conversation ID" that could be very useful to automatically group emails that are part of a longer conversation. If possible, also being able to get at least PDF attachments would be amazing. How does is solve the user problems? I have to rely on one or more services to get these features today (Power Automate (has more data from each email) to Google Sheets, then using automations to import from Google sheets. As you already have a Outlook integration, adding a few more data points should be easy. How was this validated? Other services provide much more data points for Outlook emails. Who is the target audience? People that use Outlook and Automations to import emails from their inbox to Airtable.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Being able to export a file to .xls/.xlsx How does is solve the user problems? This gives a great way to share a full project overview for people that may not have access to Airtable and will bring over formatting/pictures when/where necessary that .csv export does not. How was this validated? I used to use ClickUp and they had this feature available. Whichever "view" I was on, I was able to export to an xls file to allow editing by other team members that do not use airtable.
