CSV downloads are available for the ‘List’ type of interface but not on lists within the dashboard type. It would be great to allow csv downloads from a list contained on dashboards.

What is the proposed idea/solution? The proposed idea is to allow users to upload a custom image to use as the icon for their Airtable bases. Currently, bases are represented by a generic icon, but with this feature, users could personalize their base icons with an image that is meaningful to their project or team. This would add a visual touch to the base navigation and make it easier for users to quickly identify specific bases. How does is solve the user problems? This feature would solve several user problems: Visual organization: With custom icons, users can visually differentiate between multiple bases, making it easier to navigate and find the base they need. Personalization: Users can choose an image that resonates with their project or team, making the Airtable experience more engaging and personalized. Branding: For companies or teams using Airtable, custom icons can help reinforce their brand identity within the platform. Reduced cognitive load: By providing a visual cue, custom icons can help reduce the cognitive load associated with navigating multiple bases, making it easier for users to focus on their work. How was this validated? While I don't have specific data or user research to cite, here are some possible ways to validate this idea: User feedback: Review Airtable's user forums, social media, or support requests to see if users have requested this feature or expressed frustration with the current generic icons. Competitor analysis: Research other project management or collaboration tools that offer custom icon features and assess their user adoption and satisfaction. User testing: Conduct usability testing or surveys to gauge user interest in custom icons and gather feedback on how they would use this feature. Internal feedback: Discuss the idea with Airtable's internal teams, such as sales, marketing, or customer success, to gather their input and insights on the potential value of this feature. Who is the target audience? Airtable user

What is the proposed idea/solution? On Interfaces, I would love for a user to be able to hover over an element and see the set of conditions/filters that are acting on the element. How does is solve the user problems? I often create dashboards that summarize data for my colleagues. My colleagues are not comfortable going into edit mode to see how an element was configured. Nonetheless, they may be interested in understanding what data a number element, for example, is drawing from. This would allow them to learn that without having to enter edit mode. How was this validated? Haven't validated it at scale, but I see this as a hurdle for my team regularly. The person who constructed the interface dashboard is the only one who really understands what the various elements mean Who is the target audience? Users of interfaces ...

What is the proposed idea/solution? Option to colour table tabs in classic grid view. How does is solve the user problems? As a database grows, there can be quite a lot of tables in a base. Mine has 25 tables that I use. It gets tedious looking for the right table. If there was an option to colour table tabs by topic, it would be much more intuitive to find the right table quickly. How was this validated? From experience - I often find myself searching for a table, especially when I'm working on a laptop screen (13-15'') and not all the tables are displayed at once. Who is the target audience? Anyone with more than 10 tables in a base.

What is the proposed idea/solution? When using Group Overview in Interface Timeline view, I want the option to only show the Group Overview bar as an intermittent bar that only appears over events, so that I can collapse all group swimlanes and still see where the activity is (and isn't) in each Group. Right now, it spans from the earliest event to the latest event, even if there are no active events in between. I attached a mockup. How does this solve the user problems? ... I use Timeline to plan projects, with each Group representing a team. With very complicated Timelines with lots of activity, this would allow me to collapse all groups/teams to create a more condensed, simplified view, but still see when certain Groups/Teams are active vs inactive. How was this validated? ... Don't know what this question means. Who is the target audience? Project Managers and project members who use the Timeline view.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Formula fields have recently gained the ability to be formatted as single selects and checkboxes. I propose that formula fields also have the ability to be formatted as users and rich text. How does is solve the user problems? User fields are very useful for filtering records in interfaces, especially for filtering on the "current user". However, currently, the filter only works on actual user fields, but sometimes the user should be a calculated value. For example, a record might have a different assignee, depending on the stage of the record. It would be useful to have a formula field calculate the current assignee so that the interface page can then show all of the records where the user is a current assignee. For rich text fields, I currently have a formula field that serves as a template to build paragraphs in markdown, combined with an automation that copies the formula result to a rich text field. If the formula field could be formatted directly as rich text, I would not need the helper rich text field or the automation. This would also reduce issues with determining when the automation needs to be re-triggered. How was this validated? Based on my experience with Airtable, I think these features would be useful. What is the proposed idea/solution? When presented with an SSO/SAML Error, in the UI, offer a re-direct or place a link to https://airtable.com/forgot as this may solve the issue. Presently, there is very little done to help remediate the issue on the users' side. ... How does this solve the user problems? Users may receive SSO/SAML errors even when Single Sign On is not-in-use. ... How was this validated? It worked for multiple users who had SSO/SIML errors when logging in in an org that did not utilize SSO. ... Who is the target audience? All users, as an issue that can fixed with a password reset is an issue that can fixed without escalating. ...

The old interface layout allowed you to have 2 colors to pick from for the background. The new interface is only light grey. It would be very helpful to be able to have several background colors to pick from to distinguish key areas. It would be nice to be able to adjust fonts, bold, italic, etc.
