What is the proposed idea/solution? Change the macOS desktop app icon to be a rounded square. The current icon looks out of place among other macOS app icons. How does is solve the user problems? It improves the appearance of the Airtable icon in users' docks and launchpad. The icon could be replaced with the iOS app icon, which is a rounded square.   How was this validated? Loving the new interface templates and designer. Been working on transferring all my old ones to the new setup so they can work on mobile, which is excellent! For my desktop users, we've been used to using [ctrl + f] in a grid view to have that little "pop-up" to find records.  Now with the new search bar, we have to click on the bar to start typing. I’d love to see an option that scoops out which items of a list are not in use (anymore) and enables me to delete all these options from the list in one click. I’d also like to be able to combine values in the single & multiple select fields. Especially when you have accidentally added a bunch of records and made a typo in the field, which will then have caused a new option to be created. Ideally I’d open up the Customize field type screen, select two or more values and hit a button ‘combine’. I’ve been using the collectorz.com programs to catalogue my books & dvds for years and they have this option available, it’s an option that I highly appreciate and would love to see here, too! ... Airtable interfaces have totally changed the way we are able to work with our data. Working in the actual bases is becoming more and more an admisitrative task, designing and creating the data architecture as well as all processes working in the background (scripts, automations, extensions). A new type of interface experience This calls for a completely new powerful approach to how interfaces are organised and accessed. We would like end users to sign into their Airtable account and see something like a landing page of our company (workspace). There they are shown the interfaces they can access (permissions). Interfaces from all bases in that workspace. This landing page should have design features, so I can create this experience. A new type of user level? This also could call for a completely new category of users. People who exclusively work with data through interfaces and no longer have any contact with the base in the background. This user level could be divided into two groups: People being able to work with data: create new records, edit data, etc. People only viewing data New pricing modell? With this a whole new pricing modell could be considered. I'd like the ability to open up a details side-page for a record by clicking a button in an interface page. For my use case, I have team members providing feedback via a "form", which is just a page layout with multiple editable fields. Occasionally, some peeps have wanted to see additional details to provide context to their feedback. These details come via a rollup from connected records in another table, and the delivery was very cumbersome, especially when there were many connected records involved. This often disrupted the original layout of the page, so I solved by creating a new interface page dedicated to hosting these details. Currently users can get there via a button to the 2nd page's URL. I think a slightly more elegant solution would be for the button to open up a record details side page, and allow me to display the rollup field there. This would let some of my team see the additional details if they wanted to, without disrupting the page layout, and without taking them away from the page. ... View more

Hi there: Part of how I use Airtable is as a CRM, and I am setting up a table that my staff can use to track customer interactions. We are interacting with hundreds of customers, and it’s very useful to be able to know which staff member was involved in previous communications with a customer. Just like there is a “created time” field type, it would be great to have a “created by” field type.
