Hi, (TL;DR "it triggered on all new records, no matter if conditions are met, when they include formula field) I have following issue: table1 (near 1500 records) has button field “Confirm match”. when a key pressed, the record partly copied to table2 (by my script, ~500 records), linked to it’s “parent” in table1 table2 contains formula field “Control”, relying on some data including lookup from linked record in table1, result is “OK” or “_error” “_error” records supposed to be removed, from time to time. I can’t filter at this step, because sometimes “OK” record in table2 may become “_error” after table1 update. it’s usual process, and it worked as expected. Now I decided to automate cleanup for table2 and setup new automation “When record matches condition”, second step is Remove record, where Control contains “error” (by way, I was surprised that Remove action is not available, i did that by scripting) The problem is that trigger works on records, which supposed to be “OK”, while my
Hi there, Can someone help me please ? I set up an automated email to send a grid view every week in a list view. The email is well sent and received the first time, but afterwards it does not pick up the updates that I make in my grid. So if I bring a change to my grid, it is not reflected in the email that is sent out ! it has last week data… Would someone be able to help please ? Emmanuel
Hey, I am trying to import an excel questionare into airtable. Since the questionare is pretty long, i wanted to shrink it a bit. I was wondering if it’s possible to hide certain parts of the questionare until the condition in the previous field is set to a specific status. For example: a question in the questionare is answered with no and as a result, more of the questionare is revealed with more fields to fill in. Is that possible and if so, how?
Hello everyone, We have a pretty urgent/critical issue affecting our day-to-day operations, and I was wondering if any of you faced a similar issue before. We have a few automations that are copying some fields from one table to another. In our specific case - it’s attachments. Since today, we have started seeing very odd issues - when the file gets copied from one table to another (Via an automation), another Automation that has no name (see screenshot attached) delets the file attached. A few facts This is happening with attachment columns that are used in different automations (so it’s not specific automation related) I created new automation from scratch - same behavior I created new column fields (as if thinking maybe some other automation was added as a trigger for that field) - same behavior Manually adding files into the column (not via automation) is working fine. Other automations that copy text (not attachments) - working fine Before today - everything was working fine The
Hello. I’ve built an automation that is supposed to automatically send an email to people in a base (called ‘Tester panel’) once they’ve been in it for 365 days or more. The date they were added to the base is recorded in the ‘Date added’ field, which is automatically filled in by Airtable: To set the automation, I picked the ‘When record matches conditions’ trigger, and build it around the ‘Date added’ field in my base: I tested the automation with mock up records and it works fine. The problem is that when I actually switch it on, it doesn’t send the emails to the database. After a few experiments, I realised that it gets triggered when a new record is added to the base and matches the criteria, but it doesn’t get triggered by the existing records in the base that match the criteria. It seems like either the automation doesn’t work retroactively, or that there’s a problem with the old data in the Date Added field, but I’m not sure what that can be? I know I could create a view and
Hello everyone, I am building a CRM with 2 tables: customer table (name, email, total purchase) and order table (order id, customer name, customer email, purchase value) I want to implement an automation which triggers when new record on order table comes in and does action on customer table: If (customer exists in customer table): find that customer on customer ledger via email and update their total purchase as per the current order by adding to their total purchase If (customer does not exist in customer table): create new customer record saving customer name, email and their current order’s purchase value as total purchase. I tried building this in Airtable automation but it doesn’t allow if-else conditional in formulas How can I build this functionality? Please advise.
Hello, I would like to populate automatically my airtable calendar/grid. But I’m testing it’s failing because the inputs is invalid but I don’t know why. There are no explanations. Does anyone already faced this problem ? Thanks by advance.
I’ve just set up the Sendgrid integration so we can quickly bulk email our team of tutors. I can see there is an HTML option, but I don’t want to spend time writing the whole email in HTML as it’s time consuming and my coding skills are basic. I tried adding links in the email using markdown but it does not appear to work. Is it really the case that you cannot add links in these emails without styling the emails entirely in html? If so, this prevents the integration from being useful for saving time. One workaround I thought of is creating the links as fields, then inserting the fields in the email, but this would be somewhat of a pain.
Hello! I’m trying to create an automation on Zapier or Airtable: Table 1 View 1 : All my Candidate Onboarded Table 2 View 3 : Job description Published I’d like to create an automation when a job description is published (table 2), send an email to the candidate who matches with “Expertise 1” or “Expertise 2” or “Expertise 3” of the Job description (table 2) is the same as “Expertise 1”(main expertise) or “Expertise 2” or “Expertise 3” of the candidate (table 1). Thanks
Hello. If one of my automated actions is to update a number field, can I make it Calculate the update? IE (Current Field Value) minus (some other value) and put that newly calculated value in the field?
I have a formula that returns a url like the one below. I’m trying to send the URL to a Slack channel when a condition is met, however, Airtable doesnt give me the option to choose the URL string, it only gives me the option to insert the LENGTH. How can I simply get it to send the string? IF( SEARCH("NJOnlineGambling", {Website}), "https://www.njonlinegambling.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=easyaffiliatelinks#/", IF( SEARCH("PennBets", {Website}), "https://www.pennbets.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=easyaffiliatelinks#/", ) )
I have set up AT automations to create and edit AT records based on Outlook events. But I cannot figure out how to create one AT record for each instance of a meeting series; instead, the first instance of a meeting series creates one AT record and the rest of the instances are not created. Any help here is greatly appreciated! I also have a Zapier account if that’s a better tool.
I’m looking for an automation that can change a date field. Basically I want any dates before today to update to today’s date (in a date field). Trigger: if Status Due is before today Action: Update Status Due date to today’s date
We’re using Airtable as a CRM on my team. One use case is to send a notification to our team’s Slack channel when a record is updated. The automation looks for recently modified records in a table that stores check-in records (one record per call or outreach activity). The trouble is that we often get multiple notifications when one would have been just fine; the extras are just noise. Here’s what I mean: SLACK MESSAGE 1 [12:01 PM] Person A updated record B “lorem ipsum dolor sit amet” SLACK MESSAGE 2 [12:02 PM] Person A updated record B "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet qua." (All that changed here was a couple characters and a new word). Can the Airtable automation wait for 5-10 minutes before sending these update messages? Or, as a complementary solution, is there a way for the Slack notification to highlight only the parts of a record’s field that have changed? Here is our current configuration:
Dear airtable community, currently I’m using the “QR Code Maker” app in Airtable, which works great for me at this point. Now I want to take the next step and fully automate my process, by letting the app generate a qr code, without me manually having to confirm that procedure. As soon as a certain field is filled the qr code should be added to the chosen line. Since I couldn’t find this option straight in the app, I had a look into the automation category and noticed the custom script option. As far as I can assess this, I think that this is the best option. If there is another great solution to tackle my automated qr code creation, please be so kind and let me know, any help is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys, take care and stay safe! Kind regards, Karim :slightly_smiling_face:
Hi, I’m using a webhook to import data collected in SurveyCTO (mobile data collection platform) into Airtable. I’ve recently received error message “Rate limit exceeded”. I’ve tried deleting any inactive webhooks in my base and SurveyCTO but error persists. Anyone else experience this and what could be the cause? Much appreciated!
There are serious bugs/limitation in Automation formatting. First date formatting, in Europe we use DD/MM/YY unfortunately AUTOMATION disregard fields date formatting and put them always in ISO format: YYYY-MM-DD. Then numbers, I don’t know why but calculated number fields are never with the desired decimal. It could be cool to have an option for the numbers of digits we want to display or just keep the field formatting (ex. Decimal (1.000) if it’s calculated automation puts 15 digits after the comma (see image) and when not computed it just uses 2 digits even if 3 are selected! Thank you for fixing this.
Hello, I have about 5 tables containing different information but with one Column being consistent throughout the 5 tables (Let’s say Column A in all these tables are Name). How do I make it so that I only need to update the first table’s Column A and the other 4 will automatically reflect this update? For example, right now I have 40 items in Column A and would like to add 5 more without having to add it to all 5 tables manually. Pretty much like an importrange function in Excel. Thanks!
Hello, Any Zapier users out there? I am building a fairly simple automation bouncing data from one table to another within the same base and get this error message: With the following script I can get the field’s name: let field1 = base.getTable("Interest Topic Queue").getField("fldLXMiq8BuPkCJXJ"); output.inspect(field1); …and it is indeed on the table being written to - a single select field called “Source table.” As you can see in the picture, Zapier sees it is there. I’ve used this receiving field the same way in several other Zaps (essentially I am making a junction table to collate data from several other tables and I use the single select field to denote either the table name or if there was an update processed from the source.) Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi there, Each record in my airtable view represents a user and contains data on that user. I would like to send out a weekly email to each user in an airtable view to provide them updates. While trying to send these emails by automation I am only able to send a list of records containing info on all records in view. Instead I would like to just provide each user with their own information contained in their row of the view. For Example Hi {Name}, This is your weekly update on your wellness credits. {Company Name} has utilized {percent} of wellness credits since your last investment date {invesment_date}.
Sorry if this is a rudimentary ask: wondering if there is a way for me to record the date when a record enters a specific view? I can’t find a way to do it using Airtable automations, so maybe Zapier instead? Thank you!
Hi everyone! I’m setting up an automation for my team that will send an e-mail for our stakeholders based on a trigger. Right now we already have a few similar automations running, in which the action is the airtable native “Send E-mail”, and it sends an e-mail based off our team’s outlook inbox. Now I’ve noticed that airtable also has an integration with outlook that allows for an action “Send E-mail”. So I’ve been wondering: what’s the difference between sending an e-mail with airtable “send e-mail” and Outlook’s integration (considering that I’ll always use an outlook inbox)? Thanks!
I am using my base to manage inspections. I would like to create an automation that if a record was modified after my last inspection than I get an email sent etc. Both dates are part of one table. I am trying to use a condition if the record is on or after… My choices are only a static date but I don’t see how to use a dynamic option. Any workarounds?
I have started a Twilio account and have their Send SMS app API. I have also created an Automation with a trigger of once per hour and a view that only lists the items that are ready but not notified. I have the Send SMS App set to send a text to only the records in that view. I would like my automation to “call” the Send SMS App and mark all of those records as notified. Is that possible/practical?
Is it possible to send a weekly digest of all records created within that week? If so, how? I was playing around with the automation, but I really don’t see the trigger I am looking for. I am looking for FREE solutions, thanks!
