I’m just needing a hand with the Automation Scripting Syntax - I can push it to Console.Log, but just struggling to pull/assign the input values to variables. I’m trying to get local time date stamping into fields, really struggling to get my head around the timezones, when I think I’ve got the problem solved, it’s not. So I figure that if I pull the time of when the script actually executes, surely that will reflect the correct date.

I created a formula column (B) so that it contains a different kind of checklist for each record, depending on the value in another column (A). For example, in column B, each record has either of these two checklists x y z or red blue green Because I want the checklists to appear in rich text format, so that I can easily select a checkbox, I duplicated the formula column (B) to create a new column (dupB) that is long text with rich text enabled. Is there a way to automatically make the checklists in dupB show up as richtext so that I can make selections using a checkmark? I could do this manually but I’d have too many rec

As the subject says, what’s the best way to test client facing automations in my live database? In order to add an automation (that I’ve tested in a dummy database), I’m required to test my automation in my live environment, but I’m VERY concerned I’ll send the test to a client. The automation sends an email to my clients matching the conditions. How can I test this safely while also adding the automation to my live environment?

Hi Everyone, I have 3 tables: Table A - Empty Master table intended to capture all records in Table B and C. Full name, email, and linked fields for Table B and C. Table B - first event. Full names and emails Table C - second event. Full names and emails Objective: When new records and emails are added to Table B and Table C, link and update the emails to Table A (and eventually more tables that require the exact same automation). Because Table C has some people that were in Table B, and some now people, the email updating is required, to either overwrite an email in Table A that came from Table B, or add a new one altogether if the record doesn’t yet exist in Table A. Hi there, I want to update date field by adding some days to it with formula DATEADD when status changed on another field. New value for the field where I want to update like this: DATEADD({ValidDate}, {DaysToAdd}, ‘days’) But when I click to Run Test then always appears test failed message: Test failed: Received invalid inputs. I want to hit an API much like the currency conversion example. However, the example updates all the records in one go. Instead, I would like to fetch the API result for just the one record that was either created or updated. The record ID is available in the input, so that should work fine. But what about the table name? I happen to be partitioning this data into multiple tables (each with the exact same schema). The table ID or name doesn’t appear to be available from the trigger/input. And every example I’ve seen hard-codes the table name in the script. Since the automation is triggered on a record which exists within a table, I believe a reference to the table should be available, but I can’t seem to find it. Is there any way to get the name or ID of the table within which the record was created or updated?

Hi team, I am trying to get webhooks for receive notification on create, update or delete records in airtable table. But not able to get more information. I have below questions regarding webhooks. Are webhooks available in airtable on table operations(create data, update data, delete data etc) If webhooks are available then its free or not? Hello, I have an embedded database of products and each product has a button and form to ask for more details. It’s using and sends an email to a specific account manager and cc to the client. it works well but customers can ask about one product each time. How to select multiple products and ask for them? Each product might have a different account manager - email. How can i achieve that?

Hello - For the past few weeks, my Automation emails are being received with a square placeholder in place where the grid should be (see screenshot). The new Preview feature displays the email correctly, but what I receive is different. Just checking if anyone else has this issue, and how you fixed it. Hi! I am wondering if a slack notification can tag a specific person it is assigned to them. I.e. I want the slack automation that I’ve set up to tag <@WMLBVULSJ> when Assigned To field is “Ashley”, or tag a different account when Assigned To field is their name. Hi all, I am new to the community and hope my English will allow you understand my question: I am using airtable to do invoices. I have a table for the header (customer choice, project choice, etc.) and a table for the details of the invoie, ie all the lines. Each line is linked to the invoice by the invoice number. Sometimes my team do long and not easy invoices (in the construction industry), and on return the client just wants some modifications. I am trying to do a script that duplicates the header and lines, so that I can keep my invoice history. I can’t use the built in “Create records” action to create the duplicate “line” records, since the number of lines linked to any particular header can vary. My problem is that when I duplicate the header (with an automation “create record” with trigger on the record I want to duplicate), the linked field is also duplicated but the lines themselves are not duplicated. Hi, I built an automation that uses the “when sheets row is created” trigger. Until about 9:30 am today (8/4), the automation was working as intended without prompting from a human. However, now the automation does not automatically trigger when a new row is created with the same format that was working previously. I’ve tested each individual step including the trigger which, when tested, returns the values of the newest row. I’m pretty sure that the issue is that the trigger is not checking the assigned sheet automatically, though I am not 100% sure. Does anybody have ideas for something to fix the issue? Any help would be very appreciated.

I’m a little bit lost on this one and hoping for some help from the community. I’ve been using this automation without issue for months, but recently something changed and now it’s throwing me an error. (I’m guessing something updated on Airtables end). I have an automation which runs whenever a customers record is updated (which includes a rollup field of their orders). I then run a script to take the customers linked order records and sort them, so that newest orders show at the top. Up until this point, everything is working as expected, and the output of the script is a sorted list of the linked record ‘names’ (which in this case are Order ID’s, like 12345). The next step, ‘Update a record’ is where I’m now getting the error everytime this automation runs. It should (as before) take the output of the script and update the linked ‘Orders’ field in the customer record that changed, triggering the automation. That’s all it does, not changing any other fields.

Hey everyone! Today we had an issue where a few of our automations started failing due to all of our “Link to _” fields breaking. We have been using these fields as a main link between tables, and they have all started failing with the same error: Field “_ ID” cannot accept the provided value: Cannot modify a computed field. Does anybody have any idea what might have happened? This all started happening around 1:30pm EDT today, and it is not just one table, but at least 4 or 5 tables. Any insight into what might have happened would be very much appreciated. It is a very big workflow issue for our company as this drives a lot of what we work on a daily basis. Thank you!

Hi! Do you know if there is a limit for automate Slack or Email messages?

I’ve set up automations where I receive an email everytime a new record enters a base. They were working totally fine but for some reason I stopped receiving emails. I checked my spam and nothing. I tried changing the email address and it seems to be working for a different email address but not for my normal work email. Any idea on how I can resolve this?

I have a webhook that is meant to create new records on a table. Some records have new values for a singleSelect type field. I tried to create a function (code bellow) to provision new options but it fails with “Error: Cannot update field config from scripting automation”. Without the field my await table.updateRecordAsync also fails if I pass text to this singleSelect field.
