Hi, I was facing a problem when I tried to open the record link send by Airtable Automation to my email. The link does not bring me to the record in my mobile apps but it just stay on the home page of airtable in my mobile apps. Is it I’m the only one facing this issue?

Hi all - I set up an automation to add data from one sheet (Phil/Jennie check-in) into another (Tasks) automatically. When I test the automation out, it works, and the data is copied over, but when I let it run on its own, it delivers blank records. Has anybody run into a problem like this? Thanks!

Hey, I want to send mails with the Gmail Automation. But the problem is that the formatting is getting lost as soon as the mail is sent. How can I prevent the formatting from getting lost?

Hello! I’m trying to see if there is a way to send a grid view of a record automatically when a form is submitted. I can send all the relevant data using automations and send email, but the format of that email isn’t working for us. We’d much prefer the grid view that gets emailed when you right click on a record in grid view and select “send record.” But I can figure out how to automate that! Please help! Cheers, Nathan

Hi, I’d like to rebound on a question by @Javier_Growth_Lab which has not been solved and the topic closed. I have set an automation to send a mail to my base collaborators. It works for all of them but one, The email is correct and is associated to my collaborator’s account. I did not set any address restrictions and he otherwise can perfectly interact with and edit the base. So I am a bit lost, I’ve tried the automations step by step and it works for other users, but for that one collaborator, the run fail message reports that I can’t email non-collaborators - but he is indeed a collaborator. I have created two automations yesterday that were functioning perfectly. Even though I haven’t changed anything, today they were not working despite several attempts. I have deleted them and tried recreating them with the same triggers and for the same tables but nothing happens! I have successfully run the tests and turned the automations on, I’m not sure why the triggers are not working? I basically need: Every time a record is created in the table ‘‘bookings’’, the same record to be created in the tables ‘‘allocations’’ and ‘‘invoices’’. Thank you in advance!

Are there any automations where I can get the timezone output in a column (EST,PST,MST,CST) based on another column (city input)?

I have a handful of automations that run when a cell is changed (i.e. calculate a commission based on a commission table). It is extremely slow, sometimes up to 10 seconds to display the output in the result field. It seems that while typing the initial number in the first field, it instantly beings to run calculations in the automation. If someone types values in very quickly in multiple rows, it seems it can’t keep up, and we get some rows that don’t save correctly. AS if it’s calculating on every number they type in, regardless of whether they’re finished (tab to next row). For example, I type in Field 1) 100, 1000, 2000 (in three separate) rows to calculate a commission of 10, 100 or 200 in Field 2) in the corresponding row. Row 1 may show $100 in Row 1, but it calculates commission base on only $10 (missing the last zero). Row 2 may work, but row 3 may calculate 20 in Field 2 instead of $200. I’m trying to use Airtable Automations to an update to a single select field that I use for status on my records. I cannot see a way to tell my automation to change the value in this field to one of the pre-defined possible values for my status field, so I tell it to just use the name of one of my values. The Automation then creates an entirely new status for my single select filed, with that name, so I wind up with a duplicate value in my single select field, and the record status is set to that duplicate value with an identical name, rather than to my desired value. This means that my downstream automations triggered from that desired status do not fire, because the record is set to some new status which is completely separate, even though it has the same name. How can I make my automation update the single select field value to one of my predefined possible values?

Perhaps I am just completely missing something but I have been attempting to set up an automated outlook email to send certain notifications to some of our customers. Most of the formatting I have been able to find in the link provided in the automation on Airtable’s markdown syntax. The only thing I am struggling with is line breaks. The documentation states that “Every line break will be treated as a hard line break”. When I test out the email by sending it to myself, I notice, that everything, regardless of how many line breaks I manually put in to the preview, comes out with only a single line break. From the Transaction Type: Order >Item ID field I would like to add this ID # to the Transaction Type: Shipping label >Item ID And pretty much do the same thing by updating the Transaction ID fields that are empty in the Shipping Label and Other Fee row, with the Transaction ID# that is in the Order Row.

Due to the current lack of granular access for field locking, I am looking for a way to access data in a field BEFORE it is updated, to compare the original value with the newly entered value - to lock out changes. The goal is to block modification to values based on the current date (lock out “old” records). What I’m doing now is saving the original data into an extra field in that table upon initial entry, then if that record is updated (using a view limiting records to prior dates), calling a script that checks the date, and if it’s before the current date, compares the original field’s value to the new field’s entered value in the DB, and then resets the new value back to the stored original value. It’s cumbersome and slow, but it does work. If there was an easier method to either “lock” a field based on a date, or to access previously-stored data for a field (i.e. history), then it would take fewer steps.

Hey Airtable community, I am worried about something, i have an automation system, that send an email to a contact when i upload an attachment (invoice) to a record. It works juste great but i did a lot of test, and i reached the limit of automations. It’s not a big deal so i have sent the mails with the invoice by hand. I’ve looked into the automation and it looks like that. Problem is im worried that the next month when the automation countdown will return back to 0, it will resend the mail from the previous month. Does anybody knows if it can do that ? I don’t want my clients to receive and old invoice randomly… Thanks :winking_face:

I’m trying to create an Automation which triggers when a new record is created (Trigger:When a Record is Created), and I want to use a date field from that record as the search criteria to find another record in another table (Action: Find Records). However it looks like the only dynamic content I can use as search criteria is Record ID. Is there any way around this using Automations? Or do I need to learn how to script… :slightly_smiling_face:

(Marked red in the picture) If it’s value is “Vinos” then launch a webhook. How would you do it? I can get the record id, launch the webhook, but I’m not able of checking the value of the field. I’m trying to create a waitlist automation, where it’ll send an email to a person when the date they want is available. I have a form view set up, and a table where all the submissions go. Within the same base is a table where reservations are, I want to create an automation that looks up the dates in the waitlist table and if any of those dates are free, it will email the person connected to that record. Seems like it should be easy, but I’m not seeing it that way. Does anyone have any insights?

A issue is we could not post message to MS teams channel with Automations. Currently we are trying to use Automation of message posting to MS Teams. Currently we connected to teams API with company system admin account, and every user account could show teams Group, but Channel could not be shown in dropdown list to be selected. Can you please advise the reason why channel list could not be shown, and how to show channel list with any further actions. Thank you for your kind advice!!

I have created an automation to send an email using Outlook. The pre-test is green on all triggers. However email does not arrive, nor is in the the junk folder, clutter folder, or spam folder. Newbie here … could really use some help.

Is there a way to rename a step in automation or to give it a pseudonym? This would be very handy for future editing. You could see what each block does, or is supposed to do and save you time from opening it and looking into what it does. It can still hold its original name, but can it have a label or something, saying finds record from such and such or calculates the average… Cheers

Hi, I’ve set up a “send email” automation for a form, but when I try to switch it on it says “complete automation configuration to deploy”. Problem is I don’t see another actions needed or possible. What to do? Thanks for any assistance

I would like to notify a group of people of a certain change in my base. As my company grows that could scale to quite a lot of people. How many email addresses can I have in the BCC email field? 100? More? Thanks!

I am wondering how to define which single select item to choose and populate to the field when creating a new record with such a field?
