Hi! Thanks for a great platform. I’m trying to send an automated email when a record is updated. When I put a single/multi select field in the email, it returns blank. It doesn’t happen with single text or dates and I wonder what’s the problem. Any assistance would be great!

I’m trying to figure out how to automate mostly what has been a highly manually process. I’ve been tasked with researching 100+ companies for a common set of data (e.g., revenue, headcount, company overview, location, headcount, etc., and have found it is literally just me googling company and usually populating information from google or at most clicking on a link or two + going to the company’s website. There has to be a better way but I’m so new to this tool and no code / low code solutions. Anyone willing to nudge me to some tools I might be able to use to save time?

Hi I have an automation of airtable email sending when a record enters a view. It suddenly went wrong this morning and sent again all the records. I checked the last modified date and time of those records and the records were not edited. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi - I am running a business where we rent machines to customers. Each record corresponds to a certain machine. We then have a “status” field with either rented or not-rented. For each machine, this field is then updated manually whenever the status of the machine changes (from “rented” to “not-rented” for example). What I want, is to know at the end of the month, how many days each machine was rented during that month. Would truly appreciate some help. Thanks.

I just created an automation to check for a due date coming up in the next month and send an email reminder. How often will an automation run? It’s triggered to look for a due date in the next month, but how often will that be checked? If a notification is sent that Andrea is due for a test in the next month, will this automation continue sending emails during the next month until I change my due date? Is there a way to run this manually for all of my existing data?

Hi there - I’ve built an automation that the first automation will update records to a table. That automatically pulls matching values from another table. I want to access the matching values for the second automation without needing to write a script to do what’s being done automatically. (or is this the only way)? Process: Get input values. (automation) Sort those and put sorted values into another field. (script) Look-up matching values for this set (just how my airtables are set-up) Run second script and provide an output based on the above three steps. I have tried doing a selectRecordsAsync after I’ve done the updaterecordsAsync but it still isn’t working – my values are undefined despite values being in the field. What’s the most efficient way to do this? Help!

I have a Scenes Table with records listing each scene (Scene Name) to be shot for a video (Video Title). Once the Scene Names are all listed they go to a Shots Table where shots for each scene are created. In the Shots Table each record is based on the Shot Number. I have a checkbox field (Shot?) that I check when that shot has been filmed. Filmed scenes get sent to an Archive View when that checkbox field is checked. What I’d like is an automation that checks my (Shot?) field in the Scenes Table when all shots for that scene have been checked in the Shots Table and entered the Archive view.

Hello Community! When sending a form, is there any way I can have users pick from a list, without necessarily looking at all the options? Maybe they can type until they see their name? But they can’t look at the other list of clients. Thanks!

Hi All I have a table that manages all projects in estimating each record has a “Received Date” field and a “Due Date” field these are manual field that each estimator has to fill out when when they receive a new project to bid on, and i have built some automation based on the due date. New here my problems, since this is a manual field, sometimes estimator might forget to fill in the due date field, and then any associated triggers won’t work, so i want to create an automation that if the Due date field is left blank, it should automatically be filled in with a due date of one week from when the record was created. i have tried to play around with the automation, but i couldn’t figure this one out how to generate a date of onw week from when the record was created… This is my Table Here is Part 1 of the Automation

Hi My automation behaves strange when using two trigger conditions. I created a very simple automation to demonstrate the bahavior. Trigger: When record matches condition When “Force sync” is True OR When “Time since last modified” > 600 Action: Run a script (using default code) Some explanation about the settings: “Force sync” is a checkbox field. I use it to force the automation to start “Time since last modified” is a formula field that calculates the time (in seconds) since the last modification of the record. The formula is IF(DATETIME_DIFF(NOW(),{Last modified time},‘seconds’)>1000000000,-10000,DATETIME_DIFF(NOW(),{Last modified time},‘seconds’)) The issue: The automation isn’t triggered when the “Force sync” is set to true. The cause? Apparently it has to do with the formula fiel

I have an automation trigger using “Record Matches Condition”. There are two trigger conditions separated by an OR. This triggers the automation but not for all records. If a record matched one condition and ran and then matches the second condition it will not run again. This is not my intuition about how an OR should work. The (sparse) documentation doesn’t seem to cover this situation clearly.

Hello Community! I am having trouble with Automations. I have my trigger (When a new record is created). When selecting my Action (send an email), I select all the fields I want to display on the email, but when I test it, it’s only gathering certain fields, others are left blank. Do I need to use a formula to select the fields? Or ow do I choose between < >name, < >length, or < > ID? I don’t know the difference between these 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I’m trying to make an automation that could send out T&C contracts to a set of people in my table. I managed to send out the T&C forms using a basic Airtable automation, but is there a way where it could change the status of a record after someone declined or accepted the form? Maybe with Integromat and Webhook? Thanks in advance!

I’m trying to use an automation to look for a record in one table to update a record on another table. I’ve created a form that I’d like my team to use to update students testing status (Yes/No) I tried to set up the automation with a Trigger on a new record created on the Test Update table I’d like to use the student name on this new record from the Test Update table and look up their info on a separate table to update their Test Status. It looks very easy to set up but I must be missing something obvious because I can’t get this to work. The trigger appears to be working, but in the update step, I get an “invalid input” error. Attached screenshots of how I set this up and the error info.

I followed Provonosts tutorial on setting up a scheduler in AirTable but hit a roadblock. It looks like the actions available allow you to run a script but do not include running an App Block like Twilio. I have a view set up that I want to send a text to anyone in that view every day at 10:00. Is this possible? If it can’t be done directly, Is a possible workaround to create a script that runs the Twilio Block? If so, I have no experience in writing the needed script so any help would be appreciated.

new to the program and I’m trying to trigger an automation to run 30 days prior to a date (birthday) in order to send a postcard. I’ve set the to trigger when “record matches condition” and the condition to birthday (date field) is one month from today. It will only trigger when the year matches 2021 (one month from today) Do I have to strip out the year from the birthday field in order for it to trigger?

With the help of another Airtable member, I created a 3 table base: Projects, Tasks, and Subtasks. When a record is created in the Projects table, the automation populates 8 different tasks on the Projects table and in the Tasks table, and up to 5 or 6 different Subtasks on the Tasks table and Subtasks table. Each Task in the Task table also automatically links to the Project just created. I’m having trouble automating a link to the Project on the Subtasks table because I had to create a separate automation for each Task and Subtask (too many Tasks and Subtasks for 1 automation). Therefore, simply linking back to record is not an option. I tried adding an action on the first automation (When a record is created in Projects) that linked the Project column in the Subtasks table to the Project table. That did not work - because that automation came before all the Tasks and Subtasks were populated, it doesn’t connect with any Task or Subtask. Attached are screenshot

New Airtable-r here. I am trying to build out a new base with a few tables within it. The goal is to create an automation where based on the update of status, a new record will be created in the respective table. I’ve set up the automation trigger as “when record enters a view” and created a filtered view for each status selection. The Action is set as “create record” and set to the appropriate table with fields selected. All the tests are running successfully, but the records aren’t populating in the tables. HELP! What am I doing wrong here?

Hi! I’m fairly new to Airtable, and I have a question about the automations. I’m building a form with a multiple-select field. I want to send the user an email IF they select two choices or more. As far as I can see, this isn’t a valid trigger in the automations window. Help is appreciated!

Hi everybody, I’m using a form view for each of my tables that end up creating somewhat of a customer support request. A customer would fill out this form, we’d then turn that record into a JIRA ticket. Because there are no automations that currently work with JIRA Server as well as they would with JIRA Cloud, I’d like to run a scripting block that checks all fields that are not empty and append the field name and it’s content to a Long Text field on the record. Example: “What you like to do X(FieldName): Yes (Content of field)” The Long Text field would allow me to just copy and paste all non empty fields and their content into a JIRA ticket’s description manually. Would like to know if this is possible or if I should look into something else?

I’m using a trigger where a record created in a table (a “campaign”) updates a field for 5 records (“pages”) in another table. This works. Now I want to link those 5 records to the new campaign record. I’m not sure of the syntax to use when separating the links. Either Airtable makes a whole new page record with all 5 page names concatenated (spaces), or only takes the first page name (paragraph break). I tried this with record IDs and same deal. The help text suggests this is possible (“Choose record(s) to link to, by entering record IDs or names.”), so I might be missing something obvious!
