I would like to notify a group of people of a certain change in my base. As my company grows that could scale to quite a lot of people. How many email addresses can I have in the BCC email field? 100? More? Thanks!

I am wondering how to define which single select item to choose and populate to the field when creating a new record with such a field?

Hi, I’m trying to send out an email when an action takes place but its failing at the first step (ie. inserting the email address). I suspect that the issue is because I’m pulling the email value in from another Base / Lookup field and it’s not correctly bringing the email over into the automation. Thanks for any help!

I am passing in the id of a linked record from a trigger, and I want to add to a multi select. How can I use push() or get the existing values of the field and add to them? Hi there, I’m trying to debug an issue with the Airtable automation, but don’t know how to re-test the trigger as the instructions indicate (see image below). Apparently Airtable cannot email non-collaborators on my current billing plan, but the email recipient is the owner of the base, so I guess it’s a level up of a collaborator. What’s could be wrong with this automation? I’ve tested with other email records and it worked perfectly. Can anybody help? Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

I am having trouble with an automation from one table to another in what seems like a straight forward process. The automation is working perfectly for all fields except one. The “problem” source field is a single select with the options “Baseline”, “Follow-Up”, and “No”. The automation includes pulling various fields, including this one, into another table. Here is the automation: Finally, the source table is set up as a single select as well. However, when I run the automation, everything pulls in correctly except for this field, which pulls jibberish “selDYGV9dF4xJSlWi” instead of the text from the original table, which should read “Baseline”. Hi there! I’m having a problem linking records via an Automation. I have use-case in which there is a “Jobs” table and a “Receipt Submissions” table. Within Airtable, you can link multiple Receipt Sumbissions to a Job. Staff have their own online (“shared”) view of the Jobs table with a filter to show the jobs they are personally assigned to - each row of the table being a separate Job. Staff can click on a link on each record to submit a receipt for expenses they have incurred while doing the job via a form off the Receipts Submissions table. This link passes the Record ID of the Job via the form’s URL to the Receipt Submission form, which prepopulates the Job Record ID. My automation has a step which updates the newly created Receipt Submission record by setting the value of “Jobs” with the passed through Job Record ID. This works perfectly if only one receipt is submitted for a job. If another receipt is submitted, the job is correclty linked, but the link is remov

Hi! I’m trying to use Airtable Automations and running into difficulty when trying to update multiple records at once. I’m not entirely sure where the bug is coming from. Here’s what I’m trying to do… Table A contains several records for unique items that I’ve sold. Table B generates invoices pulling multiple records from Table A. When appropriate, I’d like to click a checkbox field on Table B that says “Client Paid Invoice,” which will then update all the unique records in Table A that have been paid for. I created an automation that triggers when a new record is created in Table A. It then creates a new record in table B with a unique ID from value A, and 3 other fields. IT ONLY WORKS WHEN I RIGHT CLICK AND DUPLICATE A RECORD. Any other time I add a record, nothing happens. Same with UPDATE, I modify the record in Table A, but nothing updates in Table B despite choosing the columns to monitor. I’m also making sure the fields to copy over have values in them. I seriously think it’s a major bug, making the automations for me completely useless. I’ve contacted support 3 times but no response.

Hey there, I’m not sure if this would be possible, but is there a way to take information from airtable and use it to fill in forms on other sites? I’m trying to set up a service where I offer to submit things to a list of websites for people (instead of having them do it manually themselves). I’d like to take submissions from my website, using an airtable form. Then take that information and fill out forms on other websites to submit those users. Not sure if there is any type of airtable integration/script for this or if I would need to use a combination of a script+zapier to make this work.

Hello the Best Community Ever!! Could you help me on my issue, please. Seems to be easy, but I spent hours on it without finding convenient solution. I use Zappier to collect some Client payment information from Payment tool to my Airtable. All the data collected arrive in my “Table1”. I have another Table, called “Table2”, with all general comments on my Clients. My need, is to check the “email” from my new record created in Table1 with the Client data base in my table2 to see if the Client is already in my Table1 or not. If not, I would like to add in Table2 the new email from Table1 and if yes, do nothing. I try to create an automation with “new record created” + “Find records” +“create records”, but when I test it, it works… but when I run it, it fails at “Find records” step. I don’t know if the automation is the right tool… Could you help me, please? Thanks a lot for your help!!! Damien

Hello! I’ve created a simple way to track time with clients using two forms. Basically using their mobile phone: The agent will complete the ‘Start Time’ form to record their start time with a client. When they are done they will complete the ‘End Time’ form. This creates two records as shown: What I would like to automate is when the ‘End Time’ form is submitted I would like it to update the previous record with that end time. So it looks like this after the automation: I’ve tried multiple triggers with actions but I can’t figure it out. :woozy_face: I would be most grateful for any insights the Airtable Ninja’s could provide! :pray:

Kia ora! I’m setting up an automation that watches one table for new records, and updates records in a second table with the information from the first. The specific use case is clients being able to update their personal information. This is done via a form in the first table with a range of optional fields - with the aim being that clients can only fill out what needs updating and leave the rest. However, when updating records in the second table based on these entries in the first, any empty fields in a record in the first table wipes the data from those fields in the second. Is there a way to leave fields alone if the fields in the new record are empty?

Hi all, This is my first time posting, hope the formatting of this is okay. I’m trying to create an automation where when a cell is filled in with a link to an action plan, an email with that action plan is sent to a contractor, whose contact information is connected by a look up field to another table. The layout I currently have in Table 1: A1 is the Link to Contractor Record in Table 2. B1 is the Trigger cell, in this Case a cell containing a URL to the action plan. The goal is that when cell B1 is filled in, the contractor in A1 is notified. The contractor’s information is already inputted way ahead of time, the only information needed is the URL that is entered into 1B. The contractor is not a collaborator, which I saw could be problematic on the plus plan, but I have the Pro plan so I should be able to send outside emails. I tested this by setting up an automation purely within that other table and it worked fine.

Kia ora! I’m trying to set up an automation so that when a record is created in one table, it updates a record in a second. Both tables are in the same base. Here’s the update step of the automation: Both tables have a name field, and entries in the first table (which is being watched for new records) will have names that match records in the second table. I think what I’m missing is what to put in the record id field of the update step - I’ve put the name field from the trigger but am getting an invalid inputs error message. Any thoughts? I know something like this is possible with a third party automation app, but I’m keen to keep it all in one place if possible! Edit: figured it out! I was missing a find records step.

Hi there! I’ve got a database which is presenting the same data but in different localisations. Everything is going well except for one aspect. The single select columns won’t transfer data in the same was a the multi-select (or any other data type I use). You can see in this picture, where I have got multi-select data transfer to work fine despite the selection IDs being different However, when trying to do something similar with single select, it will always add a new item. I have no idea how to sort this, and it’s really annoying (I have 24,000 cells to maintain, so I need this process to be automated) The picture below is an example (I only told it to use one cell so I didn’t have to clean up 16 columns) Does anyone have any ideas how

I’m trying to create an automation trigger when a record is not created at 5pm on the day of the field “Due Date” (so that nobody gets offended if they plan on turning in their work by 4:59pm). Is there a way to do this without external integration (Zapier and the like)? Additionally, how do I adjust the time zone so that it’s reflecting 5pm US Pacific Time? Thanks, Peggy

I’m trying to set 2 different automations - one to trigger an email to team members every time a new task/record is created and also one that triggers an email to the assignee when the task is coming due. I have tried several different automations to accomplish this, with limited success. Initially, the test runs successfully, but once I turn it on and add new records to test, nothing happens. I’ve tried “when a record enters a view” with a filter of a due date, and only future dates and it initially works, but when I add test records, I get nothing?? The same is true for the automation I’ve tried for new records. I would also like to have an email triggered if a due date and/or assigned person is changed at any point in time within an existing record. No success here either after initial tests. It’s telling me something about my workspace reaching the limit of automation runs??? Will it reset February 1st and retro send any that failed for this reason?

Hi There. I was looking at the Airtable Automations. I can how to automate a record to update however is there a way to update on certain conditional logic? I have two bases. One for Projects and one for Tasks. Once all tasks associated with a project are marked as complete I want the Project Status to automatically mark as completed as well. Any ideas around the best way to tackle this. When I setup the initial automation as soon as it found one task as complete the project was marked as complete even if other tasks were still with the status in progress.

Hi everyone, I’m new to Airtable, and I’ve been doing a lot of research on this issue to try and solve my problem, but I’m not finding anything clear to me that answers it directly. I have a table set up with a list of people. Associated with each person is a Last Completed Job status essentially equating to “New” dates and “Old” dates. I have a view set up with filters to only pull the “Old” statuses. I would like to receive a daily email that shows me every individual on this view. I’ve explored Airtable Automations and I’ve explored using Zapier’s Digest solution. The Zapier option gets me the closest, but I’ve only ever been able to pull one record at a time, even though the New Record In View in Airtable testing triggers reveal, for instance, four records. Everything else just pulls the one. I’m sure it has to do with how I’m setting this up, but I just needed a bit of help. Using this:

We have created an automation that is triggers when someone creates a new record by entering it through the form. Every test we’ve run has been successful so we recently switched the email address to be the correct end locations. Upon switching only the to: email and keeping everything the same, the automation is still not running. (I’ve saved, updated, re-tested) and we are still not getting the email to actually fire off. Has anyone encountered anything similar? Thanks!

This seems like a basic ask and I’m sorry to bother people with something this basic but I can’t accomplish this with my limited experience with Airtable. Tables Vendor List - one particular field (TCODE) is a number (2 digit integer) that corresponds to a county in Calif. Counties - 2 fields TCODE and TDESC which is string with the county name ie “Los Angeles” Use Case Import a spreadsheet of Vendors and their addresses which include the TCODE value Somehow (linked tables?) somewhere (same table new field, new table?) add the county name from the Counties Table TDESC field. My outcome so far… I can link the tables with the TCODE field. That column now show the highlighted TCODE. It also creates new entries in Counties table (not good). I can add a lookup field in “Vendor List” and point to “TDESC” in Counties table but nothing is populated until I manually add the record from Counties to the linked field in

Automation with set a trigger on a specific scheduled time is awesome and most of us are waiting for it. It’s still in Alpha but now we can sure that it’s will be fully-added in the near future. Another thing is Action with search records it’s an awesome feature to have while playing with automation and Scripts. This is also in Alpha. Thanks.
