We’ve seen great things come from the community forum and we want your help make better budgeting tools in Airtable. If you’ve got a great idea, please share it with us! Here’s what you need to know: Show us a great way to use Airtable to create a budget (or anti-budget). You don’t have to be an Airtable expert. Check out this template and guide for a helpful starting point. For extra credit: we’d love to see bases that use linked records, formulas, and/or the web clipper block. I have an idea for a large system to track all of our department’s interactions with the outside world, and while we have some pretty good internal resources for executing, I would like someones assistance in designing the overall system and helping with some of the implementation.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the airtable team. As an educator, looking ahead to school closure, you have saved the day! My students in 2nd grade are already able to use it by themselves. Hi, I’m trying to generate an automated email that lists all due dates in a content calendar that are today or overdue. I’m using Integromat because it has a time feature you can trigger at certain time intervals. Zapier seems to only trigger when there is change to a table. I’ve been able to pull bundles out of airtable using the Airtable module. I’ve been able to pass those through a filter, to select those bundles with today’s due date that haven’t been marked submitted. I’ve been able to use the Table Agregator module to recombine the bundles into a single table. However, I’m struggling with having the gmail function spit out that Table in a way that makes sense. Does anyone have a template for doing something similar to this that they can share? If not, are there any good tutorials about getting data from a Table and then expressing it in meaningful form in an email? If no one has any answers, are there any contractors that I can hire to show me how to do this and work with

Hi. We are an insurance agency (located in Chicago) with a pricing tool built in Airtable - we want to provide third-parties with a REST API to call the Airtable API and return the correct price. However, we need the response data to omit certain fields. AWS’s API gateway offers this as a feature and it all seems very possible based on my tinkering. We are open to other solutions - we use Google firebase for our current web services. The API would need to be able to pass through Airtable’s API token along with 6 data fields. Airtable would provide all of the data required for the response. We are looking for a developer to contract for this project, but any ideas or advice are also appreciated.

Hello! I’m looking for someone to help me set up some things in Airtable. I work for the science department in a public school district. Here are some things that I’d like to be able to do: • Products – see all grades where a product is used • Enter prices for products at all vendors, find a unit price, and be able to easily do a price comparison to find the most inexpensive vendor • Get teachers a list of everything that they’ll need at each grade level (main kit) – we’ll be doing an elementary cleanout and I want to be able to say DON’T get rid of these things • Give teachers a refill list for them to do inventory – how much do you have already of these things? Ideally, I’d love to have this be a form in Airtable to collect the data • Be able to pull the information from each teacher’s form to see total numbers needed to order; also, separate by cheapest vendor and end up with a list for each vendor and what I need to order. I love sharing tips to help others learn more about Airtable, and the idea for this YouTube channel has been brewing in my mind for a while now. Even though I’m scrambling to prepare for our cross-country move in a few weeks, I wanted to make this quick tease about the channel: Subscribe now so that you’ll be ready when the “real” stuff starts going up, which will probably be some time in December if things go according to plan.

This is not a show; rather mostly a tell. It’s my experience (which is extremely limited given that the Script Block feature is still a newborn) that for every hour spent developing a block, plan on an equal or greater time implementing the completed block into your solution. There are many reasons this is the case including but not limited to these points: Hard-coded table and/or field references Success-biased data that create testing blind-spots Lack of anticipation concerning the block used in “the wild” Inadequate testing cycles at scale I’m often asked - Hey Bill, can you whip me up a script to do that? My problem is so simple, I’ll bet it will take you a few minutes to bang this out! Um, sure? I guess? Hi all, just thought I’d share an insight I had about working with lists. Recently, I had a project where we needed to take an email address from a customer-submitted form and check whether the email is from a list of known domains. I could have used an OR() statement, but that would have created a very lengthy formula, because I had to first separate out the domain from the rest of the email, using this formula: LOWER(MID(TRIM({Email}),FIND("@",TRIM({Email}))+1,999)) Thus, if I have to compare that to 5 different domains using an OR() statement, I’d have to repeat that formula snippet 5 times, and that’s not very DRY, is it? What I realized was that instead, I could use a SWITCH() statement. Since a SWITCH() statement allows you to optionally include a final parameter in case none of the cases listed matches the initial text, you can use it as a sort of hack to go through long lists (similar to how, in Excel, you could use a MATCH() statement). Hello, My name is Ben Bills. I am a public educator for 9-1-1. I educate the community about the appropriate use of 9-1-1. Most of my work is conducted in elementary schools. What I am looking to do is create an airtable that allows me to track what schools we have visited, what program was taught, and create a dashboard that shows our reach rate. It would be even better if it could generate reminder emails to schools prior to our visit and automatically send a survey after our visit. Many future clients often ask me: Should I automate this process? And if so, where do I start? This is not uncommon thinking; we’re over-saturated with tasks and our resources are stretched beyond reason. Of course, the answer is always - yes - automated it all if possible. And while we like the sound of this, the more difficult question to answer is the cost-benefit of automation. Until you can look at a task (or ideally, a collection of dependent tasks) and put a value of making it entirely disappear from your involvement, automation should not be undertaken. My advice is to segment processes with a diagram and then apply some basic metrics concerning effort. Once you see the bigger picture and the effort each step in your processes require, then you can ask if it makes sense to automate that segment of your process. Some processes (when diagrammed) become obvious candidates for automation, but a comprehensive process diagram allows you to also classify process segments as more ben
