Interface Designer

Hi all,I would like to share interfaces with my clients without having them to register and most importantly answer the initial onboarding questionnaires from Airtable.It discourages them from accessing the platform and viewing my interfaces.Is there a way to view and potentially edit without having to set up an account and answer the onboarding questionnaire?Any advice would be welcome 🙂Thank you! 

Hi, does anyone know why when you create certian interface views following the initial wizard, you cant then add new elements. You only seem to be able to do this if you build an interface from a blank canvass.

Previously there is information on the related linked record similar to what we see in the base. But now the information is no longer there. 

Hi Everyone, I have a table called 'projects' that has a field called 'schools' . I want to be able to display the number of unique schools in this field using the Number element in Interfaces. I can count the record easy enough but the records in the project table may contact multiple instances of the schools so I'd like to display a count of how many unique records there are.Hope that makes sense   Jason

Hello all -I am trying to figure out if there is a way to "deep link" to a specific interface form. I have a list-type interface page that lists Notes. (https://airtable.com/appXXXXXX/pagYYYYYYYY) It has an action button "Add New Note." Clicking that pops up a modal New Note form, but the URL in the browser does not change. However if I click on a record, that record has a unique URL. (https://airtable.com/appXXXX?detail=YYYYYYYYYYY) The question: Is there a URL, or a way to construct one, that will give me the List page with the New Note overlay?

Hello,Let's say I have a table for employees and have an Interface Gallery.  In the Gallery I am showing a headshot, name and title.  When someone clicks on the card it open up a Sidesheet with hometown, state and work history.  When I am looking at the Gallery view with all the cards (ie no Sidesheet shown) and do a search, the results are only showing cards where the search term is visible on the card.  In other words, the search is not searching the entire record, only what is shown.So, if I was searching for any employee named "Bob" then it works returning all the employees with "bob" in there name.  But if I search for "Maine" to find out how many employees are from Maine, then it does not work. Additionally, is there a wildcard available in the search? If I type in "Ma" then I would want anyone with a state of Alabama, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, or Oklahoma to be returned.Thanks!Ken

HiI have descriptions filled out on some of my fields in the base. However, it seems like without base editor access, users cannot see the descriptions icon on the interface. Is there a way for viewers without base access can see the descriptions?I'd like users to see the descriptions icon on the interface like below,but users are not able to see the descriptions icon without base editor access. Is there a way to work around giving base editor access? Thanks!

We're having an issue with analysing some data/ representing it in charts in Interface designer.We have survey data and one of the questions is a multi-select field. When you try to represent the answers as a pie chart/ percentage, you get strange answers, 41 out of 45 people picked a particular answer (as one of their options) but the pie chart says it is 9.5% rather than 91% of people who gave this choice if that makes sense. I guess it's calculating it as a percentage out of all the options ticked by everyone rather than out of the responses... I can see the data better as a bar chart but this just gives the number of responses, not the percent choosing that option if that makes sense.I can figure out the answers using count/ roll-up fields in a totals table if needed but this feels quite a complex solution, does anyone have a better idea of how to get the answers we need? Ideally in one chart rather than lots of individual percentage calculations but maybe that's just not possible

I am looking to purchase a digital kiosk for Airtable apps that runs on Android 7.1. Can someone tell me if interfaces run on Android 7.1. I've recently learned that interfaces do not run on an iPad so just checking.

Hi everyone,Whenever I use the search function on interfaces pages with a view layout (list, grid, kanban, etc.) I tend to get errors such as this one. It's almost certainly correlated to the underlying table size (and the number of records displayed on the interface), but I'm surprised that the issue occurs on a relatively small table (~400 records). Has anyone faced a similar situation? 

Is there still no way to create a new option in a select field in an Entry Form?Or a workaround?

I tried using interface designer and it is a very cool feature. One thing I would suggest to have is a sharing the interface like a view. For example, I would like to share particular interface in read only mode and do not want the user to be able to go and see all contents of the base. Currently, if I give read-only permissions the user can go and see all tables in the base.

Hi all,I have written an extension that links a project to various records in another table and, as a prototype, it works fine by using a specific project.Now, to roll the feature out, I need to pass the project name over to the script from an interface, so the steps are performed on that specific project. The obvious way would be to use a button and an automation. However, I can not find a way to connect the extension to the interface.Can someone point me in the right direction?Thanks you!

Very basic question: Some of the pages automatically display their title at the top and I cannot edit or remove it. Looks like this:Interface name / Page nameHowever, some of my pages don't display carry this title and I need to add it manually.For the sake of consistency, I would like all pages to show the title. Is that possible, and how?Many thanks!

Hi there!Does anyone know of a way to copy the form layout from the New Project option to the record templates forms? I have A LOT of templates and do not want to have to build them all manually to match the New Project layout. Or is this a thing in the works?Thanks

Hello,Here is a picture of my interface. I have a filter element which is linked to the list element. I would like the filter element to apply to the linked option when creating a new record in the list element so that the user can select/filter which options they want to add as a new record in the list element.  For example, I want the list of materials to be filtered by the supplier in the filter element so that when creating the new record in the list element, only the options for a single supplier (specified in the filter element) are shown. Although there are finite options and I could create a separate interface for each option (the supplier in the filter element), I would like to avoid doing so and having a more dynamic (1 page) interface).I need to attach/sync these linked record permissions to the filter element i.e. the user needs to be able to control the linked record permissions through the filter element.Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 

Hello,I've got a problem when using the search function on interfaces, the text will change as I'm typing or miss letters, almost like a text autocorrect. It's very frustrating. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem or is there a work around?Thanks,Andy

Please could number formatting options be implemented? At minimum, I would expect to be able to set decimal places and use of thousands comma. Even better would be to add currency symbols.

Hi all; I am currently in the process of designing an AirBNB-like booking system for a company that leases multiple rental units. I have designed an interface where potential tenants can review the units they can choose from, however I'm running into a snag when it comes to being able to allow them to select their desired move-in and move-out dates (interfaces won't allow for filtering by date fields, apparently) to result in showing them properties that would be available during those times. I have read about using scripting to make this happen but have not been able to develop a script/formula combination that works, and the company doesn't want the responsibility of having to approve booking requests based on a manual check of whether or not that unit is available. Does anyone have guidance on how I can accomplish this? At this point I don't even know where to start as far as experimenting or testing to see what the best option would be, and most of the solutions I've foun

Hey guys,I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for moving elements around more smoothly? At the moment when I try to move record elements in grids they rearrange everything in ways I wasn't intending.For example: I have a section on my interface for Important Links that are pulled from different fields that I want to lay out in a particular way. And when moving them into positions from this : To attempting to get all the elements aligned it does this:Does anyone now of a way to maybe lock locations of elements or grid or something to just make moving things around smoother? 

In my data I have a column that is a button. This button opens the page designer ext. to the record it lives on.When I bring that button-field onto the interface, the button is grayed out and not clickable.  (See below. It should be a bright orange color and clickable.) Does anyone know why? Is there anything I can do?
