Hi all,Please advise if there is any way to share a part of my base to my worker to ‘edit’ information.For now, when i want to share i have two choices:Share the whole Base of any level i want (edit, comment, view)Share only a certain view that is not possible to comment or editI’m looking for any way to share one table or part of table (Filtered View) with an option to EDIT.Looking forward for any advise & tipsThanks in advance

I would dearly love it if the forms could be made to enter more than one record at a time. For instance I want to create several records, each relating to parts that are used to create a product. The parts already exist in a table, all I need to do is select them in a form. But having to submit the form for each entry is time-consuming and tedious. I’d like the opportunity to add rows/records (a little + sign after the field) in a form).

I have often incorporated many complicated automations in order to prevent employees from updating records to certain statuses without inputting certain required fields first.I wish there was a way that I can make a field editable dependent on conditions, such as if these other fields are not blank. Instead of creating an automation work around.For instance, I don’t want employees to mark a record as complete unless if they input the Field A and Field B. Right now I have an automation that goes on condition that if a record is marked complete and Field A and/or Field B is not completed, that it would revert to the previous status and send an email to the employee notifying them.However, I would like it so that that the employee literally cannot click and edit the Single Selection Field unless they completed the previous steps in the workflow I am attempting to generate.

In Excel, you can use the ROW() function to return the row number of the current cell. A feature like this in Airtable would be useful, as I have a list of events that I want to recalculate their date depending on the order that the user has the rows in. I can’t use the autonumber feature, because that doesn’t renumber when the user reorders the rows. There doesn’t appear to be any way to get Airtable to work out what the order of records is, and calculate a formula based on that.

When record comments would be available as a field in Automations, we could trigger automations on new comments. For custom notifications, record changes, update last modified date and copy of full record comments to a separate Long text field for those situations where the 6/12months retention is not enough.

Proposal This could be gracefully handled with the ability to enable the “public CDN” option, for any “Attachment” field. Also, the ability to specify into which field to store the URL might be useful, the goal being able to know the public url of the attachment (one that doesn’t change!). Attachments configured this way would be properly stored into a public CDN, designated for that use case. The public CDN feature would have its own pricing and limits based on the customer’s plan. Hi everyone, the title basically sais it all :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

It would be very useful if the mobile Airtable app would allow us to create a shortcut icon on our phone homescreen. That way, one tap would open a specific view in a particular base. Since I have created more than one base with several tables and numerous views, I currently need to concentrate when navigating to the required view, requiring four taps. Only a few of my views are meant for on-the-fly viewing/editing (on my iOS phone), so selectively creating shortcuts would be a very welcome feature.

When I import data for event registration, several of our data columns contain single select responses. Right now, I have to change each column’s field type from text to single select individually. When there are 30+ datasets to be changed, that takes a while! It would be lovely if I could select all of the columns that need to be changed, and set all their field types at once (in this case to single select).

We keep our final social media photos and videos (MP4) organized in AirTable. However, AirTable doesn’t show a thumbnail of the MP4 videos. It is hard to quickly tell which video is which. Please add video thumbnails in the attachment field.

Requesting to have better organization of items I put in the header component of Interface Designer as it currently is just stacking everything horizontally in left alignment.

Two of the major limitations of Airtable when creating a link from one table (“Table A”) to another table (“Table B”) is that:We can ONLY link to the primary field in the other table (“Table B”). To truly unleash massive amounts of power & flexibility & customizability in any database system, we need the ability to MANUALLY CHOOSE which field in “Table A” should be linked to which field in “Table B”.Linking is always done MANUALLY instead of AUTOMATICALLY. Unlike other database systems, Airtable doesn’t automatically scan for matching values in linked fields — a human must manually intervene by manually linking records.Obviously, these changes would graduate Airtable from the realm of “beginner-level database program” into a more “advanced-level database program”, but it would enable us to create all sorts of advanced database solutions that we can’t create now. It would also remove lots of migration headaches when importing/migrating data into Airtable from other advanced data

Requesting an actual field type for tasks.I’m working around this with the long text field by adding checkbox bullets but I can’t see how many complete vs incomplete tasks I have without expanding every single long text field.Trellos Checklists - I love trello’s checklists because you can do a single paste and trello will recognize and convert each item into its own checklist item.for example:this is my first taskthis is my second taskthis is my third taskhit “ENTER”automatically turns into:SmartSuite cannot recognize the multiple lines and split into multiple tasks yet but they still have a checklist field that shows a running total of completed vs incomplete tasks at a glance. Very cool feature.anyone else find value in the checklist field?

Would love the capability to reorganize opened records. SmartSuite came out with this functionality and it is very clean and user friendly.They also have sections which would help to default collapse certain sections that I don’t need to see such as my calculations running in the background that are only used to for formulas and automations being run. SmartSuite’s sections structure is clean and a good example of what would work well.

I built a base to track my medicine but need a time field type to improve it. Any chance that could be developed? You probably want to build in standard time where user can designate their time zone and what is known as military time.

A.I’d like to have the ability to display the result of a formula onto a form, just like it does when I’m in the Grid view, without needing to add extensions.Use case :My form is some version of a shopping list , the user filling the form can see the total on the screenB.An alternate approach would be the ability to assign Numerical values to a Text string and then, give me the function to just add values chosen in a field or fields and then display the result on the form, as explained above.(so I don’t have to figure out the formula!)But if A were the easier option of the two, please consider it!

I want to be able to show off the photos of my records. There’s too many interface elements. Would be nice to be able to reorder linked records and have a specific list. In my case I have a list of videos (kinda like a playlist).I imagine also you could type in the index that you want for a particular item. Maybe there’s also a button to unset the ordered list.

Please add the information icon in the view name to only show the tooltip pop-up or toast, whatever it is called, that charcoal background info window showing the decription, this should only show when I however over the information icon. There should be information icon in the view “tab” the same way as it is on the table tabs and the popup goes on only when I hower over the icon and not show every time I hower over the name of the view, I don’t need to see it every couple of seconds whenever I switch the views.Same goes for the View configuration menu tab on the top left. The information icon is there but it always shows whenever however over the entire button.Here is what I mean:

Would love to see a feature where we can choose between vertical or horizontal headers.This helps squeeze more text into the headers while looking at all the data.

Would be neat to be able to easily input a url for an API and have the response automatically generate an Airtable table. Then I want to manually (or ideally semi automatically) link rows in my other tables to this API data so I can then do other formulas and rollups.Whenever data changes in the API endpoint, then it automatically updates my dependent columns.

A very useful feature to have would be the ability to “drill-down” another level when working with Look-Up fields.We use AirTable to manage our company E-mail accounts and Distribution Lists (Distribution Lists are email addresses that contain members and distribute messages to all who are assigned to it, i.e. info@company.com can go to John, Mary, and Paul). Here is the basic set-up between 3 tables:Table PEOPLE contains a list of all employees, and links to EMAIL which contains all email addresses (including distribution lists)Table EMAIL links to DIST LISTSDIST LISTS contains a lookup field to list the names of people on each distribution list.I am running into this problem: because a distribution list’s members can contain OTHER distribution lists, I cannot get a comprehensive list of all members wherever this happens (which is often). It would be incredibly nice to have a calendar feed in interfaces that will allow you to incorperate different feeds from multiple tables.This is super important when trying to do any kind of schedule management with AT - like social media posting. I want to have my scheduling and be able to break down the data / performance on the back end. Can’t do that with Google Calendar.I know there is an extension that does this, but I’m already paying for AT pro. I shouldn’t need to pay for someone else’s extension to have a basic feature like this. Anything scheduling / time related feels woefully neglected or behind some sort of paywall.Thanks for your time and attention, AT is always getting better. It’s why I’ve stuck around. I was so excited when i saw the announcement that airtable would be integrating with adobe XD because adobe+airtable is such a great fit. But i would LOVE to be able to use my Airtable base – preferably a specific view – as a data source for creating variable data designs in illustrator. As seen here, https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/data-driven-graphics-templates-variables.html this features makes creating customized variable designs so easy, but currently you would need to export the data as a csv. A direct connection, would be, amazing.
