It’s great to be able to “Limit record selection to a view” when selecting a Linked Record, however, this means that the number of views gets out of hand quickly. It also means creating views that you will never look at (as they are only needed for filtering Linked Record options).I would prefer the ability to filter linked records by conditions instead. This would add flexibility and prevent the creation of unnecessary views. Bonus points if you could filter based on data from both the current record, and the Linked Record. For example, show if {Current record field} contains_______ and {Linked Record field} contains _________.

Airtable has the useful feature of tracking the field names in formulas.Thus when we change the name of a field it’s automatically changed in formulas.When we create a formula field containing a URL to the pre-filled form we must type the name of a field that we want to pre-fill in a formula:"https://airtable.com/shr123456?prefill_My+field=" & {Another field}If we rename the field but forget to change the formula we will end up with the old field name in the URL and the pre-filling won’t work.The improvement I’d like to request is to add a new formula for getting the field name as a string by its reference. When we have it we can use it in the formula field:"https://airtable.com/shr123456?prefill_" & ENCODE_URL_COMPONENT(FIELD_NAME({My field})) & "=" & {Another field}and the field name in the URL will be updated each time when we rename the field.

Simply the ability to set a default on fields other than numeric On a date, the obvious is Today On a string, just set a default value

Hi!I wanted to suggest having default values for fields in some kind of Table settings. For instance, currency. We almost exclusively use Norwegian crowns (NOK/kr), but they always default to USD/$.Same for the date fields which we always need to change to European.

When opening a single select, the first option is the blank cell.As this is the usually the least useful option when you open the select dropdown it just takes up valuable space.see image …Can the blank option be moved to last please ?Thanks!

I just want a Kanban view without editing option in one of the tables.I have created a base with two tables - 1. Tasks, 2. Sub-tasks. When I complete all my Sub-tasks, the status in the main task automatically updates. In main task, I have 3 statuses - 1. Not yet Started, 2. In progress, 3. Completed. This statuses are formula based. I want to view this statuses in Kanban View and it is a view which I would never edit but it would update on its own based on the formula.If there is any available solution for this purpose, I open for it.

I’d love to see a new data type that takes the URL of an image file and renders the image rather than just displaying the URL as a link. I would think that this would save you some storage space as well by letting us link to hosted files rather than pulling them in as attachments.

Hi, It would make my life so much simpler if we could write functions to pre-fill default values for fields. At the moment, I have many columns in pairs, one column with a computed “default” value, and the other with an editable value. (When the values are equal, I make the computed field display “…”) It works but it makes my rows really long! -Donald

I am loving the base I’ve made for productivity and planning. One of the prioritization models I like using is an Eisenhower matrix; it has quadrants (aka 4 boxes within a square) that group tasks/projects into Urgent/Important, Urgent/Note Important, Not Urgent/Important, and Not Urgent/Not Important.I have created a field with these values and currently use a grid view to group by this field. But what I would love to do is visualize it in the intended format - a quadrant.I have seen it done in another application.

If would be great to be able to copy single select & multi-select list options from base or table to another. Within the same base, I know that I should use the linking function. In some cases I do, but most of the time, I want the ability to color each option for a visual reference so I end up using single or multi-select over again with the same options.

We are doing software for a dude ranch and it uses the timeline view with colors to show the status of reservation records. It would be really nice if we could add a “texture” to these records to identify them based on a second characteristic. For example, all records that are “deposit paid” are blue, but that means all records are blue for a long time. It would be nice if I could add stripes on top of the blue to see all the records that are part of the group, for instance.

How do you remove the Airtable logo (bottom left) when you embed an Airtable view on a website? Is this removable on the paid plans for Airtable? If not, I think it should be an option

ContextWe’re putting together an order form for our clients. The various components of that order are listed in other tables. So they use linked record fields to select which components they need for the order.ProblemBecause linked records only display the primary field, clients aren’t able to see the image of the component they’re choosing. As a workaround, we’re using helper text and shared links so they can at least see a catalogue of their options alongside the form. But representative thumbnails directly in the form would be preferred.Current state of order form:Catalogue example:

Suggestion: Allow filtering on date fields “occurred in the past” or “occurs in the future” - to allow view of overdue or pending things without creating some other field.

My clients are very unpleased by this new “mandatory” feature in forms. Why mandatory?

Add role-based viewing permissions for tables, views, and fields.We already have permission editing ability for tables and fields in regard to who can edit or delete. It would be great to also have a permission of who can view the field or table.Additionally, I think it is just as important to extend all of the same permissions to views as well.

On the iOS app there’s a yellow plus sign at the bottom of the table view that allows you to easily add a new record to the table despite not being scrolled to the bottom of the table. I would like to be able to add a new record on the desktop version without having to scroll down to the bottom of a (sometimes very large) table. I have a people / contacts table with ~1600 records and in order to add a new record, I currently have to scroll to the very bottom. Filters could help this issue by filtering records so that only a subset of the table’s records are shown which would make the table appear smaller, but I’ve run into another issue when I add a new record to a filtered table: usually the new record is filtered immediately because the filter is based on the record containing a certain value, which the new record doesn’t have. Being able to have columns populate a default value on new records would really help this situation. But I’d love to be able to add a new record with a button

Hi, it would be nice to have the ability to save a snapshot with comments or the ability to name the snapshot. It would also be nice to have the ability to automate a weekly snapshot or a daily snapshot. I am not sure where to post a feature request.This helps to go back to a snapshot if we messed up something, and looking at the name of the snapshot will help us identify it

I need to add a linked record to several hundred rows, without deleting the existing linked records. When I try to paste the new record into the rows, it deletes everything that’s already in that cell and replaces it with only the pasted record. Doing this by hand would obviously not be time effective. Please tell me this is a feature and I’m just not seeing how to do it! Deleting a linked record from multiple rows would also be helpful!

This is a big one but I’d love to see a checkbox list field. I can then ditch Trello!

Love AIrtable… However… A partly helpful solution to column width difficulties (cell data being cut off if too wide for column width) could be to allow font size to be changed - Universally across the entire grid view. Could we also have left, middle and right justification of cell text please. My integer number fields are right justified when the next field which has a text field is left justified, so the contents crowd together. Looks untidy. Layout is important right, to make it look really professional

We use the main table (authors) and we have a linked field to another table (books).If we don’t have an appropriate option (book) in the table we can create a new record of the book from the field in the author table. But, strangely and surprisingly, when we try to do the same thing through form, it is not possible. There is no option for creating a record in form mode (the plus “+” sign doesn’t exist).This feature with control in permission for that (not in all fields you want to allow that kind of adding) is very important for our work. When colors are used to highlight records based on conditions it’s often hard to remember what each color means. It is especially hard when the users work with multiple bases where the same colors are used for different conditions.It would be great to have a description per color configuration in each view and display it by hovering over the color label.
