Why isn’t it easy and intuitive to access elements from other tables.I could use a formula to show only elements of another table, that have certain attributes.For example, when I have a table Students, and I want to generate a new table young students, I could simply type:if(students.age<20, students, ””)How is something like this possible right now?Can it even be done since I really want to generate a table with elements that only fulfill certain criteria.I think it’s really annoying that you always need to use a lookup table where the relevant information of a connected table is pulled before you can use this information in a formula. It would be much better if Airtable would adapt the writing I used above, so all rows of a table can be accessed as members of the table name from outside. tablename.rowBy the way the formula field is really messy for a long, nested formula.

When I enter a string of numbers, the app confuses it for a phone number or some link. this made it impossible to delete the database or modify.

I have simple table with 3 integer field. One of the fields has a default value of 1. If I create the record using a browser, it works well. But if I create the same record in IOS 10.2.1, using either an iPhone or an iPad, the field fails to set to 1

Hi, I would love the ability to download (print) my page designed block invoice on iOS/Android. Now i can only download it via desktop which is not my preferred way since i want to manage my day-to-day work on my phone where i like to download my invoices.A download link to each record would be great.

Hi, I have a view in one of my bases with a date field called ‘Live Date’ and a filter that’s defined as ‘Where “Live Date” is “today”’. I would expect that each day I would open this view, the records in the view would reflect the day’s date. However, this is not the case - the records that stay in the view are those that were marked as ‘today’ on the day the filter was created. This makes it difficult to use Airtable for to-do management as you have to remember to clear the filter and remake it. It’s also challenging when the person using the database isn’t the one who made it and that person only has a read-only permission. This seems inconsistent with other filter behaviours - for example on when filtering on single selects records will move in and out of the base automatically.

Hi, When I create a form with an input of type “Link”, Instead of showing ALL possible records of the target table, It would be EXTREMELY useful to only display records from a specific view of the target table. For example I want my user to be able to link new records ONLY to records that are not already linked. This is a show stopper for me at the moment, because the target table has like 10000 records, while the set of acceptable link targets is only around 10 elements.

I’ve found that in the interest of keeping Data Fields hidden within specific views I am able to create a better overall work flow where by I choose the View related to the input/modification task being performed. That said, I need a way of passing that View identifier to Related Tables so that the expanded information provided is similarly “refined” to the task being performed. This may already be possible and I just cannot find the solution.

Hello,On desktop, when a view is locked, the chosen sort order can still by applied by tapping “Apply” (since Auto Sort is still not a thing).But on the iOS app at least (I haven’t tested Android), when a view is locked the “Apply” button is greyed out and cannot be chosen.Ideally, the sort order itself could not be changed, but the sort could still be applied. At the very least, it should work the same way on desktop and on mobile.Thank you!

Please include a way to add a subheading descriptor on surveys. Often survey questions are grouped in categories, which can help guide users filling out the survey. Text only subheadings is an easy add on that organizes all the information on a survey much better. Thank you!

Dearswhen I store Arabic data it is not stored correctly. the application does not recognize Arabic letters. is there a way to fix that?

It seems Airtable only supports dates that include a month and day, thus missing one key feature of ISO 8601 standard: the ability to use the same format for less precise dates, such as: 2018 2018-02 When I try entering these examples, Airtable automatically changes them to: 2018-01-01 2018-02-01 Supporting reduced-accuracy ISO-8601 dates would be nice. In the absence of this, users are forced to either enter incorrect data, or no data at all.

When turning off ‘Allow linking to multiple records’ on the to corresponding ‘linked fields’ in two tables it is still possible to link multiple records to one.This is because only the relationship is only restricted from the active table, so it is possible to do this:Which then creates multiple entries here:Ideally, you would be restricted from doing this.

Having used Airtable for years, I only just realised that the Airtable iOS app doesn’t use the native API when playing back an audio file. This means that audio won’t play in the background, nor can it be streamed via AirPlay. Will you consider using this API in the future? This came up, as I keep a database of audio excerpts, which I would like to play directly from Airtable when teaching in a classroom. I can connect to a projector and speakers through an AppleTV, so currently I have to temporarily copy out the audio files from Airtable to play them using this setup.

Many column data types has settings, but Linked records don’t have settings.May be Linked records could have some settings in order to Hide some records while linking.For example: I have two tables: Tasks and ProjectsNow, while linking a project to a new task, I always get list of all the projects, regardless they are completed or in Progress. This seems fine in beginning, but when I have more than 100 projects, it becomes pain. I don’t want to delete completed projects, and there is no way to archive them.So, in linked record settings, we could specify the linked records to choose a view from that table. That way we will get only specific records while linking.This would also help with shared forms, and end users could see only specific linked records.Thanks!

Giving dedicated real estate to notifications would send a clear signal that the platform is intended for collaboration. Each individual record has an ‘Activity’ sidebar which allows for viewing not only record history but also comments.Notifications are capturing the same thing, but are hidden in a drop-down. This makes them difficult to see do to the limited amount of items displayed and the badge count disappearing once the drop-down is clicked rather than when the notification is read.What I request is embedding a base-wide (or potentially table limited) activity view similar to that on each record summary. This would allow for glancing at table and base changes more easily and could also be a place for table/base related comments that don’t apply to specific records.

The Page Designer block has a fantastic feature that lets me display a “Link to another record” field and sort those records by a field inside those linked records. It even lets me choose what text to display so instead of only pulling the Primary Field, I can display any field I want. In that way. it almost seems like it behaves like a Lookup field, but it’s surprising how much more control it allows here.An example of my situation:I have a table of Dates. Each Date is linked to a Project.I have a table of Projects. In this table I have a “Link to another record” field that pulls in Dates that are linked to each Project.The problem:That’s all that the “Link to another record” field lets me do. I can’t sort or customize what text is displayed. I can use the “Batch Update” block to sort this field, but it sorts it by alphabetical order, a completely useless order when it comes to dates since it ends up sorting by the event’s Primary field, and not the date.I could rework the Dates table

When could we prefill linked record field in a form view? It could be really helpful to be able to prefill also linked record field with RECORD_ID() value for instance.

My request for improving the URL field is three-fold: Hyperlinks: ability to clean up links and hyperlink them with the text you want to appear. Custom Icons/Favicons: ability to add custom thumbnails/icons/favicons based on where the URL points (document file type, website, blog, folder, social media accounts, video, etc.). It would be cool to have a uniform library to choose from like when setting up a base, as well as include popular sites, brands, file types. Multiples: Allow for multiple URL’s in a single field (if I’m tracking my client’s important URLs, it would be nice to include more than one (website, file repository, lead forms, product page, social media accounts, etc.). Mainly these are for aesthetic purposes but it also improves/quickens visual identification. This would especially look good if being displayed in Gallery view, or if you add it to the Page Designer block.

Please give us an option to hide fields in the Expanded Record view based upon the hidden fields in the grid view.

Love Airtable,But the linked records always have same color (Blue).However, since Airtable allows to generated Dynamic colors for different records in a table. Same colors could be used in linked records. That would make it look awesome and so user friendly.So If I have a Team Table and I assign Color - Red to Team member named “Sendy”.Now wherever this Record is linked in another tables, the name “Sendy” renders as Red.Thanks!

It would be very useful, especially when setting up new columns, to be able to set local preferences local to the user not the developers. For example, I am based in the UK, my default currency symbol is a £ sign, and Local dates, an option on the Date field are not my local date format which is confusing and it therefore has to be changed on every single date column I set up to European.

It’s great that you can “send records” via email, but that feature loses a lot of its convenience, since you have to manually type in recipient email addresses, even if you’ve previously emailed them and even if they’re a collaborator in the base. It’s pretty silly that AT doesn’t have a contact list for sending messages from the app.

It seems like attachments that are uploaded are not very secure (because when the document is uploaded to the web, anyone who knows the URL can access and download the document). I understand that there is some security around the idea that it is unlikely someone could guess the correct URL, but it still worries me enough to not want to upload anything sensitive as an attachment. I would like it if the URL does not work unless a user who is authorized to collaborate on a specified Base is logged in on their browser.
