Hi all, I came across Airtable a few months ago and have been exploring this awesome tool since. I have been able to use Airtable to build some really handy tools for internal use in my business but I’m unsure how best I can leverage Airtable to build custom apps for my clients due to the lack of UI control. I spoke to an Airtable expert a few weeks back and he told me Airtable are releasing a front-end UI builder that offers more or less what third party apps like Stacker and Softr offers. I was told this is something Airtable are testing internally and will be launched to users in August. I have asked him for an update but haven’t heard back. Also heard the same thing in this podcast video, first 5 minutes. I have a whole bunch of clients and projects I’d bring over to Airtable in a flash if such a feature is released. Does anyone o

Hello All, Just starting out with forms and looking for tutorials. My very first issue is that someone setup a form for me, which had the right questions and Ive tried to create a new one by duplicating it and now responses from the two forms are showing up in both, without being able to separate their source. Can you please advise? Can you direct to a comprehensive source of information on AT? Thank you

I have many fields in a table. I try to have GET API call https://api.airtable.com/v0/appXXXX/TABLE?maxRecords=3&view=YYY But it seems that the hidden fields are also returned. How can i only return the fields which are visible? I dont want to overcomplicate things by having many fields.

I have a formula field that takes 2 datetime fields and creates a “week overview” with them. But value of [Day] 11:59pm in the End Date field seems to round the day up to the next day, which is misleading. I need to add a static logo image to several output documents. The block editor has the instruction: “Image URL Try typing { Field Name } to generate URLs using content from your base.” But nothing I do displays the image.

Earlier today I responded to a question from a new user here, explaining how she could hide a field on a locked view and keep the field hidden from non-creator users by making it visible only on a personal view configured by the creator. I then had to add that this is security theater (I think that’s the phrase we use these days) because in truth, any user with editor or commenter privileges can simply duplicate the locked view as a new personal view, which they can then configure to their heart’s content–including making visible the fields that the base creator wanted hidden. After posting my response, I began to feel uneasy, so I looked into this a little more deeply than I have before, and I’m a bit disappointed by what I’ve found. I’m praying someone here tells me that I didn’t look deep enough–that there are better answers to my concerns. I have noticed a change in the calendar view. Previously, the end date was adjusted according to the start date automatically. Somehow this does not happen anymore which results in multiple date conflicts. Exp: I want to change the date of the task from this week to next week. The task is scheduled for 1 hour. If I change the start it creates a conflict because now the end is before the start. If I change the end, the event lasts for 7 days now. Did anyone notice something similar?

Is it possible to create an automation that notifies/or record update when XXX days have passed since I created a particular record? I wish I could do this. (e.g. record update case) 1_created record & get the “created time” 2_2week passed from “created time” 3_some status automated change A from B

I’m struggling with the setup of a date field to be used in Airtable’s “Create records for multiple templates” script. The template table’s formula column has similar date formatting to the child table’s date column. Copying manually back and forth both works fine and the date is correctly recognized. The script fails with the below error. DATETIME_FORMAT doesn’t help, using it the formula field stops applying date formatting. j: Can't create records: invalid cell value for field 'Date'. Cell value has invalid format: <root>.0 must be a string, <root>.1 must be a string, <root>.2 must be an object at main on line 130 Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I had a question about scheduling a recurring event on Airtable. As seen in the screenshot below, the way our recurring event ‘SoB Boost’ is currently scheduled, the way each event shows up in the table (a row below and a column to the right of the previous event) creates a downward slope that takes up a lot of space. Is there another way to schedule these recurring events that won’t take up so much space, or is this the only way to do it?

Morning, Noon, Evening, There has been a bunch of chatter about a front-end interface to be released soon. I remember seeing this functionality sneak peaked on an Airtable survey they sent out about a month ago. I regret not screen capping. Any way, what would you all like to see from a front end interface? What tools have you used whose functionality would be well appropriated by Airtable? What does your magic 8 ball tell you about a drop date? What have you all heard about it in general? I’m hoping for some more advanced data validation and cascading drop down functionality. This type of stuff doesn’t lend itself nicely to the current spreadsheet model. All the best, Steve

I am an Airtable neophyte, using Integromat to watch for FTP updates and sending the csv file to Airtable to create a record. The Integromat log says the tasks of watching files, getting a file, and creating an Airtable record is complete, but the Airtable table does not update at all. Perhaps it is an issue with my Integromat setup – if so, profuse apologies. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Best regards.

Hi there We have an enterprise account so access to all features. I use airtable for our medical database and to be able to consolidate information we have tables with a lot of IF formulas. Some of these tables are relatively slow. If I was to create sync’d versions of these tables to embed into our internal website that we use to view most of the data, would this have a speed advantage of displaying the data (while accepting an update lag) or does the sync, sync the formulas rather than the values and therefore there would be no advantage. How do you use a Button to open documents from an Attach field? We have a table with many records, one of the fields is an Attach where we attach documents, sometimes multiple documents to one record. We were using a URL field to put the Dropbox link to the documents - however, this only allows one document/URL per record, so we would link the parent folder rather than the document in the case there was multiple documents. It is much nicer UI to be able to attach multiple documents to the record (using Attachment field). But I would like a Button beside the Attach field, that the user can click and it opens the attached documents in their browser, each document on it’s own tab. Does anyone know how to set this up in the Button? Thank you in advance :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello AT colleagues. I am new to AT. I have a Parent records table and a Child records table. What I’d like to do is described below: • I can select/pick a record in the parent table with the Record Picker Script (from Airtable Script Block). • I would like then, use the selected record, to automatically open a View in the Child table, to display Child records associated to the Parent record selected. Please let me know how can I do this. I can go to the Child table desired View with a Button and URL for the View, but I’d like to do this from the same Script that is picking the Parent record. Or , other similar automated way: Pick Parent record, then view Child records. Thansk for your help.

Hey Guys, I am using the Map app to map addresses. When I click on the points on the map, specific addresses show up, as that is the field that was used for geocoding and mapping. Is there a way to change what appears when a user clicks on the specific points on my map? Thank you in advance for any insight!

Hi all — I have a table with 1000+ TV shows and movies that I’m exporting in A-Z order so they can be laid out in Indesign. We’ll call this Table 1. But I also want to create lists with those shows following a simple hierarchy: Grouping (Drama, Comedy, Reality, etc.) List (Cop Dramas, Med Dramas, Intense Dramas, etc.) Show #1 … 2. Show #2 etc. To accomplish this I created Table 2, and used Link fields to tie the shows in Table 1 to the lists in Table 2. Everything went great for a while. To build a list in Table 2, I would assign a show in Table 1 to a list in Table 2, then duplicate the line and link it to a different show. Hi, In the base I am working with we have entries representing individual sessions that are held in different timezones. I understand that the sync between Airtable and Google calendar sends over the times in GMT, so I am looking for a way to use a formula to convert the time of the session (for ex: 9:00 SGT) into GMT without having to manually convert it every time we make a new entry. So, when someone from my team adds in a new session they can add it in as the time it is actually held, ex: 9:00 - 11:00 CEST, and it will convert with the formula in the date + time column to GMT. Can someone please help me with this? The main timezones we use are PST, EST/EDT, CET/CEST, SGT, but we use other timezones as well. Thank you!

Hi there, I’m using the add lookup fields function by selecting multiple fields to add to new table (see picture 1) In the new table, the colums are named with the text … (from “lookup view”) automatically behind the column name. (see picture 2) Is it possible to not show that text? So only the colomn name is shown, as in the lookup view. I use the function a lot, but it is very time consuming to manually delete it. Would love to hear, thanks.

The URL to attachment script has stopped working for me completely. It seemingly add files from URLs at first, but then, a few seconds later, deletes all attachments. This alarmingly also happens when I use automations to add attachments from URLs Both of these methods have worked perfectly fine all other times I’ve needed it.

Hi all, I am on the pro plan and have a table which has some record restrictions, in my particular case, everybody can create records but only a few users can delete them. I need to share this with other people, and would like them to be able to edit the table, but I don’t expect them to be on a pro plan, nor do I want to pay for that. If I add them to the base as collaborators, would they have these restrictions? Note that the tables are less than 1,200 in size, so they should’nt be restricted by that on their free plans.

Is there a reason way the long text field height is defaulting to 78px instead of auto??? This makes the kanban card HUGE. I don’t understand why this can’t be fixed:

I have 25-40 Base’s to build and I need them connected to a ‘master’ base. Internally, our engineers create a table that is a “key”. This key is used both as a Master of unique records and a key for joining all tables. e.g. House# |Issue# | Invoice #…when a new house# is added as a record in the Master table, it would proliferate to all of the other Base’s since House# is a major node for us.

Hello! I am trying to figure out how to apply a unique ID when entering a form so you can see where it was clicked from. I have a store where each row in Airtable posts a new object for sale. I want the ‘purchase item’ button to lead to a form where they can fill in all their information but I can’t figure out how to assign some sort of unique ID so that I can correlate the item they want to buy to the information they put into the form. Is anything like this achievable or is there any advice? Thanks so much for anything and everything!
