I am trying to create a hierarchy within one table. The Gantt-view is only getting me halfway there through the predecessors and successors. Unfortunately, the most vital part is missing. When I select multiple predecessors they don’t show up as having one successor. It is only displayed that the successor has multiple predecessors. I know I could fix this with automation but I thought this should be a basic feature. Database wise I prefer Airtable over Notion but Notion has this figured out already. When I select that I want to link to the same table it gives me the option for syncing in both ways. This means I have two columns within one table which update each other. This would be a gamechanger for Airtable!

Hi - As a one person marketing team I use Airtable as my master of record for collateral, etc. The sales team has asked for a central repository for materials. a perfectly valid request and I’d like to use Airtable for this as I don’t want to have to populate yet another tool. So, I thought using a gallery view would be a nice approach and, indeed it is a nice visual layout. It’s a shame that I can’t group the gallery by category, only sort and filter seem to be available. My biggest concern is when a gallery card is clicked, it opens a popup that displays all the fields in the table. Since I use the table for tracking, posting, usage, etc there are a lot of fields, and the vast majority they shouldn’t or it wouldn’t make sense for them to see. All I want them to see when they click on a card is - document title, direct URL and download the file. How can I accomplish this? We have a base with many tables and one table is over 100k records. We’re on a paid plan. Today we can’t even add records to tables with only 2100 records. Is anyone else experience ridiculous slowness? Our people can’t work. Trying to determine if it’s wide spread or us.

Hi I understand about giving collaborators “permissions” but the “lowest permission” I can assign a collaborator is a “read only”. How do I configure it so that some collaborators cannot see certain view or fields? In other words only admins and editors can see certain information. Some of the information we have is extremely sensitive and I don’t want this being in the wider domain.

I am building a form that links to another table. I need to search the contents of the table to add the record. The default behavior of a field linked to another table only allows the user to search the records by the information in the first column. But in my linked table the first column is only the last name. I want the user to be able to search other columns, like the first name, county, etc. Is it possible to set a form up so that searching for records in another table searches multiple fields? Hi, I get a date in a field, using Rollup and Max (value). Now I would like to know the number of day from now, usinv DATETIME_DIFF First column is the rollup with max value. Seem to work since I have a summary MaxDate. Second colum is formula Today, and third is the calculation of the difference between two column before. Formula of column Today Formula of column Calculation Why do I got such an important result, instead of 0 for instance for 12/05/2021 Any idea ? Thank you

I have an issue with data prefilling into my form-view from my gallery view. See below. I have a set of products where I’d like user to be able to shortlist and then go stright into a form where the selected products from gallery views is prefilled in the form as their selections. Kinda like a shopping cart? I checked the scripting api in bubble and it seems we cannot use localstorage or any of the client side caching options. So any other ways to do this? Right now, I can just prefil one product at a time with the request a sample button. Also - while I am here, is there a way to get a nice view of the multi select choice when in the form view? I can only see the below layout when using my form with a logged in user and not as an anonymous web user.

Hello! I’m fairly new to using Airtable but right now I am creating an application where I pull data from a table I created and populate React components with that data. It’s a pretty simple integration and has been pretty straight forward for the most part but the only thing I am struggling with at the moment is pulling an image I stored in a table. I know Airtable has the “Attachment” datatype which is what I’ve been using but it’s been causing me runtime errors every time I try to pull the image for each record. Is there a better way to store and fetch images using Airtable? Is it better to use a third party alternative?

Hey there. So, I have a base with a table of inventory of devices that includes their IP address. On that table, I already made a button column that where you click on it and it takes you to that device using the protocol best suited for it (VNC, HTTPS, SSH, etc…) based on the device’s type. (The formula was quite scary). These devices are link to another table that lists all the rooms. What I am hoping I can do is consolidate all these buttons to the room in a way that you can simply look at the room and connect to the intended device. I tried to do this via a lookup/rollup on the rooms table, but that got hinky cause I sometimes have two of the same type of device in a room so lookups and rollups return more than one IP. Any suggestions or thoughts? Need more info? P.S. - I wish button labels could be generated with a formula too.

Hi there, Does anyone have experience with the Google Search API? Because the Airtable-internal search in the database can’t do fuzzy searches - in other words : Airtables search does only find exactly written keywords. Pretty old school, so the integration of the Google Search API would be a great solution. Thanks for your support Florian

I’ve recently been trying Notion, hoping it would solve some of my issues with files, spreadsheets, documents, projects that are spread across multiple platforms (including Airtable) in my digital universe, by trying to collect them all in a single “dashboard” or “launchpad” where I have access to everything from a single place. While initially falling in love with it, there’s just a few things that are limiting and therefore I want to continue using Airtable for the time being. However there is one thing that Notion does really well, and that’s the cross platform design. I recently bought an iPad for an upcoming project where I’ll be using the iPad as a shared device for team members to access the database and other shared tools, and one of the strongest selling points for me diving into Notion was how well it works on the iPad. I have come across airtable as a resource to potentially solve a problem for a project. I am building a wedding car hire website so I want to be able to list all the available vehicles (probably in a gallery view) that can then be filtered so as an example A convertible red car in Nottinghamshire (Type Colour location) Once the list is filtered the client can then tick a checkbox on the cars of interest which would then form the enquiry form where they input wedding date contact details etc. is this possible and what are the steps to do so Thanks

I’d like to add a BCC that’s dynamic (based on a collaborator field in the base) and a way to add the Attachments in the Attachments columns to my email. I have a large number of properties in a table (~3000) and am using the Map App to display their locations. When I open the app, I get a very long delay (as it plots each property?). A display top right of the map shows me how many remaining, with the spinning progress wheel. Even when I restrict my app to a filter view with only 100 or so properties it takes quite a while (2 or 3 min). Am I using this wrong? I guess it’s pretty handy displaying only a handfull of locations but how would I use it that way? Also, we’d like to download Street View images and save in Airtable. Possible? I’m guessing this is request and response only. Filter your selected properties into a view, open the app, see what you need. Click Street View if you want, but save nothing? Does anyone in the community have insights into how else to use this app?

I’m working on a new personnel base and I’m having trouble wrapping my head around how to execute a link I’d like to see. Here’s the scenario: I have 1 table of Staff. They are numbered based on the order I would like to hire them to work an event. So, if I need 5 people at an event, the staff numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be called in for the event. If I only need 2 people for the next event, it will still be staff #1 and 2. I have another table of Events. Here I put in the number of staff I need, and I would really like to build a way for it to auto pull and link the appropriate staff members. Any ideas?!

Hi friends! I just noticed the “Date” field automatically sets to Month/Day/Year. As a Canadian, this is super confusing lol. Is there a way to set it to Day/Month/Year, or even better, Year/Month/Day? Thanks!

Here is the use case scenario (I LOVE SYNC btw) I have a bunch of micro tables which I use as lists across the Company for different departments bases States Countries Month Number/Name 01-Jan Industry names I don’t care to track back to the micro table who is using them as they are there to cut down misspellings, and keep continuity for how some fields need to be presented. Is there a setting I am not understanding how to make it where the origin table that was shared to sync does not contain all the different entries across multiple tables and multiple bases. The reason I am doing it this way is in Excel I am able to point to one location for a list feature - it is the master list I only need to update and all the spreadsheets that use this list get the new information to be able to utilize. Hi all, I am hiring a staff member to work with my in my small business. I have a recruitment agency and naturally my database is so valuable to me. I would love to know if there is a way I can stop a collaborator from being able to download the data in my base? What is to stop a person from taking my database (either by copying and pasting or downloading) and starting their own recruitment business in the same, very specialised industry. No harsh comments please — I know I need to trust my future staff and sure I will eventually but in the meantime I also need to protect my intellectual property. Hey there! So, a bit of an interesting request. I’m looking for a way to do a “auto number/autofill style” Date field. I’m usually working at a lot of odd hours and my days really exist from 10 AM - 10 AM in a given 24 hour cycle. With that, the general view filtering methods of view based on “current day” don’t really work well for me- I’ve found some loop holes- but nothing perfect. Given that I also would like to track time/duration data from a lot of my tasks via day/date tagging, I figure its just useful to kill two birds with one stone and tag a pre-set date instead. A caveat being, is that i have tasks going out months in advance, and it would be great to have a way to simply create a pre-filled new record with a descending date based on the previous one. I’m still plugging away but havent come across anything to obvious yet! Thanks!
