I have a race that happens once a year. Most information gathered for registration like cell phone, address, email generally does not change frequently. But there are a three categories that define how the racer participated in that years event. Vehicle Type (Car, Truck, Motorcycle, UTV, Youth UTV or Youth Motorcycle) Class (Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4 or Class 5) Racer Type (Driver of Record, Additional Driver or Co-Driver/Navigator) For example: In 2017, Johnny Johnson has raced a Car // Class 1 // Driver of Record. In 2018, he raced a UTV // Class 4 // Driver of Record. In 2019, he raced a Motorcycle // Class 5 // Additional Driver. In 2020, he raced a Car // Class 1 // Additional Driver. Knowing there is only one Johnny Johnson that exists in the world, what is the best way to track this racer - year to year - so I can see what the three categories he was each year? My problem is a bit tough to explain, but I’ll try my best: I have a table with car allocations per people. Those change on a daily basis, so I have many records for each car, and many records for each person. The relevant fields are: Start date, car number, person ID, end date. Sometimes there could be months between start and end date, and sometimes there are days or even hours. What I’m looking for is an easy way to find for a specific date and a specific car - which person had it during that time. Sometimes I want it the other way around - for a specific date and specific person - which car he had during that time. At the moment what I’m doing is filtering by person ID or by car and looking for all the different allocations, manually checking to see where my date falls between start and end dates. Any idea for an easier way to do that? With Access for example I would create a query. I couldn’t find any easy way to do it within Airtable. Any ide

Hi, I want to achieve the following: I have manually entered lines (financial stock inventory). Each line having different colums (e.g. invest typ, notes, etc.) For each line, I have a Unique identifier entered (it is the ISIN number to identify the relevant stock information) I want now to add a column, where in each cell, a REST call to https://finnhub.io/ should be executed, getting and then displaying the corresponding value (e.g. year-to-date % change) for the ISIN number of this line entry. I am using a free account. I had a base used for a triathlon team. Only 2 people have owner/creator status. Everyone else is read only. The base was covering multiple years of data and it got to be too much. I created two more bases in the workspace so I have a 2019, 2020, and now a 2021. But sharing was originally only with the one that is now for 2020. I need all those people to have access to the entire workspace instead of just the one base. Is there a way I can do that without having to send a link to everyone? I’d really like to be able to just do it behind the scenes. Thanks for any help! Happy New Year!

Hi Airtable Community, I would really appreciate your help in guiding me towards a solution to my problem. I’m fairly new to Airtable and have a comfortable grasp with basic features and some advanced, but I came across and interesting use case and I can’t seem to figure it out. My table is focused managing non-identifiable healthcare information for a community based health services organization and we’ve been using Airtable to manage some basic information (about 15 data points in total). The particular case that I’m trying to solve goes like this: When “patient A” changes insurance carries (single select column), I track that as a date change (Last Modified Time column). Using this Last Modified Time column I can sort by most recent date and keep track of the latest changes for weekly reporting purposes. What I’m trying to accomplish is to have an additional column that will display the previous value of the “single select column” change.

I am using page designer to print my invoices but the dates for services are out of order. How do I get the dates in chronological order?

I’m sure there is a possibility but I cannot quite figure it out! I have many projects listed in one table, and as I add projects in the primary field, is there a way to have these duplicate into a separate table inside the primary field?

Noob, sorry in advance. (also used to excel which I’m sure makes it even worse) I created a column that takes a uniform date column (start date) and count column. Then a third column that has the following formula - DATETIME_FORMAT(DATEADD({Start Date},Count-1,‘DAYS’),‘MM/DD/YYYY’). It works well. BUT (there’s always a but) I’m not able to format it as a date, preventing me form being able to but it in a calendar. My question is: is this antiquated thinking? Did I do something backwards? Or is it a limitation of Airtable that likely is saving me from a bigger problem? And, would anyone have a fix or better solution than the one I laid out? Is there any way to speed up the deduping process? My goal is to see “customers” and their “purchases” since my last audit. Here’s my scenario: I have a table of “customers” that are linked to their “purchases” in another table At the end of every month, I receive an automated report of 6k+ users or “customers” that are “active.” I need to show only those customers and their purchases. I’ve tried to use the dedupe block but it seems time-consuming to merge over 6,000 records. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Kim

I want to be able to have someone put in two dates and have a list of dates that are holidays and then for a formula to tell me their is 1 or 2 or etc holidays between the two dates you picked. i cant figure it out.

I use sorting and filtering a lot but am not too happy with it. It feels quite manual. I use vim and keyboard shortcuts often so anything to do with the mouse annoys me. I feel like airtable would be amazing if it had some sort of launch controller to do many popular tasks, like sorting and filtering. The grid view on an iPad is unusable, since the “Task” column only shows about 15 characters and truncates the rest without the ability to expand the column width in the view. Are there any plans to address this?

I automatically have email communications imported into the client’s record by using a program called Gustermail. For a short time the company was out of business and I had to use Zapier to set up the automation. It really messed up my files and instead of adding the new emails into the designated email log section of the client record, it created a brand new record for each new email. I want to run Dupe, but it doesn’t allow me to add data from multiple records without over-riding the existing data. For example: Jane Doe and I emailed 6 times. So Jane Do has 6 records in my Client Base, each with a different email message in the Email Log section I created. When Dupe App finds Jane Doe’s records, it asks me to make one of the records primary, which works fine. But after that I can only choose one email log section to merge into the primary record and I have to delete all the other emails. Hi Experts, I am trying to create multiple child records from a parent record and came arcross an existing script in the forums and updated it to suit my needs. My aim is to ask user for the parent table, child table, link field and for each link field add the user inputted no of entries into the child table. Where I am stuck is that for each entry I want to add and increment the Date as entered by user. Hello, I’m trying to create a map that show every stadiums in a district. I installed, and configured the MAP, without worries. I created a column with the GPS coordinates of all the stadiums. The problem is that the map only shows half of the stadiums. All the GPS addresses are good, double checked, and in the same format. Anyone would know why map refuses to show half of the stadiums ? Greetings, I am using the Gannt app, would like to set up a project table in which the records build upon each other according to dependencies; e.g.: Start date of record 2 is based on end of record 1. End date of record 2 is based on start date + duration. Then start date of record 3 is based on end date of record 2, etc. I have succeeded in getting the end date for a single record to calculate based on start date + duration. However, I am stumped in trying to get the start date for the next record to react to end date from a previous record. My thought was to use my dependency column, but using a formula such as “WORKDAY({Name (from Dependency)}, {Duration}” gives me an error “Can’t save field because it causes a circular reference”. Is there an easy way to pull the data from a specific field in a related table? So far, it doesn’t seem so. Let’s say I want to use a dollar value from an assets table and use it in a another table to add the amount to another asset? Or say to look up an amount balance in an accounts table so when I purchase an item I can subtract that amount in a purchases table? Ideally the amounts would be calculated/updated in their original tables. It seems I can only access the name of the table in the related record. Thanks for any thoughts.

When one person had entered the data, the other person cannot see the information in the same colume on his own screen while collaboration is any solution ?

Hi! I have a table called “Initiatives” - each “Initiative” has a multi-select for 50 states. I would like to generate a new row in a table called “Tasks” for each state selected for an Initiative. Example: INITIATIVES TABLE Row 1: Initiative A | NY, NJ, PA TASKS TABLE Row 1: Initiative A - NY Row 2: Initiative B - NJ Row 3: Initiative C - PA Is this possible? I’ve tried using Automations but unfortunately I need to be able to do this for up to 50 states, and the limit of 25 Automations prevents that. Thanks in advance!
