I have a gallery view of event participants embedded on our web site. On the card view, one particular field is followed by a big extra space - see right after the 'City, State' field in the screenshot here:This extra space does not appear when you click on the card to see the record detail:The only difference in the data is that the 'City, State' field is a formula, combining two fields with a comma. But, I don't know why that would display an extra line in the gallery card. Any ideas?
Hi All!Been looking around for a solution to be able to select multiple dates on a form.Knowing that a date field can't support selecting multiple dates I've created a table that has all the dates within the calendar year as records and then am using a linked record field to allow them to be added to the form. The challenge is it's a dropdown that I can only select 1 at a time. I was testing to see if holding CMD or SHFT or OPT might unlock a multiple select ability on the dropdown but no go.For another workflow I created an interface page that allowed checking a box next to desired records and an automation to update a targeted record with the selected POST the form being submitted and creating the target record but that would be clunky for this workflow.Any other suggestions?
I have created a List view with Nested Levels enabled. The data displayed is good for the nested Field, but I need it to display the data in another area as well.Data. I have a Level build like this: Am creating a martial arts curriculum and need certain skills to show in the belts they are learned. So there are base skills and then "series" that those skills are used in. The base skill is learned in one belt, but put together in the "series" in the next belt. By using this nesting I can nicely get the "Series" to show the nested skills under it:But as you see in the last column, those nested values need also to be shown under the Yellow belt, but do not currently. Is there a simple way to get them to show: Thanks all, Blake
It appears that I am not the sole individual encountering this perplexing issue, as evidenced by numerous prior discussions on the matter. Our organization has been utilizing Airtable for a duration exceeding four years, and we are eager to transition to the Enterprise tier to accommodate our growing capacity needs. Regrettably, my efforts in submitting the contact form on multiple occasions—at least four thus far—have yielded no response.I find myself perplexed, as I would readily invest resources into resolving this predicament, should the opportunity arise.Has anyone among you managed to successfully navigate this transition, or does it seem that Airtable is consistently unresponsive to inquiries of this nature? Your shared experiences would be invaluable.
I am looking for an analytics solution for tracking link clicks and counting attachment downloads from embedded airtable views. Is there a good solution out there for this already? I’m having trouble finding a good resource for this. I have several solutions but they’re rather labor intensive and I’m hoping this can just happen automatically after initial setup. User clicks external link from embedded airtable record on website> +1 count in analytics for that link click. I am about to go test this, but does anyone know if you can use a google events to track link clicks in airtable?
Is there any way to set an automatic log out from Bases? If users are using a base and forget to log out even if they close airtable that persons bases are open to anyone who opens Airtable again on that machine. If there was a way to set an automatic full log out after a period of inactivity this would ensure base privacy. Alternatively could the administrator of the base have the ability to log all users out if necessary.
I have been tasked with automating attendance tracking provided Webex meeting attendance data (which can be downloaded as a CSV). I understand I'd need a common key in order for the data to mesh, but I am struggling to understand how to get Webex and Airtable to talk with each other and update the airtable automatically. Any advice on making Webex and Airtable talk to each other would be welcome.
We have a couple of public forms where we are collecting information from customers. (Registration for Ten Digit Long Code (10DLC) SMS/Text-Enabled Landline Telephone Numbers) Once they hit ‘Submit’ they no longer have access to the information. Often times they make mistakes or need to add updates. We would like to be able to generate a URL that we can email or text to the customer that would open the form with whatever is in that particular record (obviously protected by a GUID or something similar a-la shared google docs) Is it possible?
I’m using the from view for people to register for an upcoming round robin event! I’d like to lock submissions after we hit 12 responses. Is there a way or workaround to make this possible? If not, no worries. How can I “lock” it manually to prevent additional entries?
Hi everyone, I’m new to arrays and I think I’m missing something very obvious here but I thought I’d ask and see if someone could point it out to me. I have a base which has two relevant tables, Customer and Other Party. Each Customer could be related to one or more other parties and vice versa each Other Party could be related to one or more Customers. Each table uses the email address as the primary key. I’m trying to connect the two using data fed in from a Cognito form via Integromat. After the form submit trigger, I’ve got it iterating the customers, searching for the relevant Customer Record IDs and aggregating the Record IDs into a new array so the output is Array=Collection1(ID=rec…)/Collection2(ID=rec…). It’s correctly identifying the related customers and their Airtable record IDs, but the problem comes when I try to use that information when I’m creating the records on the Other Party table. There’s a field called “Linked Customer” and I’m trying to feed the multiple ide
Currently, the record level revision history shows with the oldest on top. That view also puts newer comments at the end/bottom. If I want to see something recent I have to scroll all the way to the bottom. Is there any way to reverse that so that comments and revision history shows with the most recent at the top?
Hi, I’m starting with Airtable and I think it’s excellent. I try to move all my work with Googlesheet to Airtable, but there is a functionality that I can not find and that I miss. It is the Autocrat complement. With this add-on I automatically generate, with each new record, a pdf file that is also automatically sent instantly by mail to an account extracted from the registry itself. It is necessary for me in my work, and I wonder if it is possible to do this with Airtable and some additional complement, or if on the contrary I should forget about it. Thanks, and excellent work!
We are a Civil Contracting company and just started using airtable for some simple data tracking. What we are trying to do is build a simple "app" that can house some forms for our drivers to fill out thru out the day, ie material load info and refueling info.I have built some forms that use a sharable link, it works but is cumbersome when there are several different forms for the drivers to use. I was hoping to figure out a way to either set permissions in airtable so the driver can only view and utilize the forms or have an "app" that hosts the forms in one spot. These are truck drivers and not all of them are tech friendly so I need to keep it as simple as possible.Thank you in advance for any ideas on how to tackle this issue.
Is there a way to put edit-checks or validations on a field? I’d like to restrict the range of numeric values that can be input to a numeric field.
I’m doing a deep software selection and i’ll evaulated a lot of other software like airtable, and i have to say that Airtable is what i can say the best in class if we consider the 90% of the use cases our company needs. What it seems to lack, but i cannot realize it clearly (it seems to me so fool) that its not possible to do data validation. Let’s say a simply use case: I want my collegues to fill in the hours spent on various task (not in real time with the time track app, but simply at end of the day or of the week). In airtable is simple: new grid, i add a column TIME SPENT of type INTERVAL and i’m lost? i can i force to insert only an x number 0 < x < 8 ? i dont want to let them fill in a WRONG record and with automations try to send email, rewrite numbers or other thing: simply to forbid a wrong insert if it does not respect the restriction rule. I’m not sure it is not possible, but i’ve invested a lot of days of study and i only found workarounds. It looks very strange t
If I have fields in a table with specific types why doesn’t the form validate those types before submitting the data? There seems little point in specifying a field type of email if someone can enter whatever they like into the form. I realize that client-side form validation is non-trivial but there at least some native browser validations that could be implemented fairly easily.
Hey Community! Here’s my problem: I have users adding phone numbers to records. Problem is, the way the are inputting records doesn’t allow me to have Data validation. I need the number they input in a specific format, and I was hoping there might be a formula that could do this. Format we need: 1 (XXX) XXX-XXXX Inputs we might get (because users make mistakes) = 1 xxx xxx xxxx xxx xxx xxxx xxxxxxxxxx 1 (xxx) xxx xxxx (xxx) xxx xxxx What is important for us is there is the area code, aka, a “1” at the front of every number. I was thinking about creating a formula that adds a “1” at the start, but in the circumstances where a user does what we want, and adds a “1”, I don’t want to add it as it’d break it. Does anyone know how to put a formula together that’ll do this? PS, Bonus points if you can ensure it looks “pretty” by formatting it in this way: 1 (XXX) XXX-XXXX
Is there a way to enforce data validation on a field? For example, if I want to enforce users to enter a name under 20 characters or less, can I do that?
Hi guys,I'm creating a escape room form, so the group can select the room and time they want to play. There are 3 rooms (each one with 5 different times to play). When a group select the room/time (example: Room 1 - 20h) this room can't appear on the form anymore. How can I do that?I read in other message here to create a new table with all the possibilities (I already did that), and created a link to another record in the main table (which is used to create the form).I tested it but it didn't work.If anyone could help me, I appreciate it! Thanks
I have some equipment inspection checklists that I am trying to move from paper to Airtable, and I was wondering if there was a way that I could convert it into a fillable PDF and put it in an Airtable form. The employees fill out these checklists when they’re at worksites, and the office is out of their way, so the forms don’t get dropped off as soon as we’d like. What I am hoping to do is have the employees fill out the PDF in the form, then have the PDF saved to the base as an attachment so that we get the forms as soon as they’re finished, and it’s easier for everyone at the worksites. I already tried converting the checklists to Airtable forms, but there are just too many checkboxes that would each need their own field, and it would just end up being too inconvenient to fill out and sort through. I also tried using the attachment field in a form, but this would require the PDF to be filled out in a different app (or scanned), then saved, and then submitted through the form, which
there are so many options out there, but I have our employees work exclusively out of the Interface Designer. What is the best options out there (affordable or free) to generate letters at a click of a button?
Imagine you have set a rule that your kids are only allowed 2 cookies from the jar when they get home from school. They have access to the cookie jar (a particular table), but they can only have 2 cookies (2 records per day). When they try to take a 3rd cookie they will be blocked, and redirected to a different page. How would one do this with AirTable? We have tried doing it from the UI in Softr, but this requires us to update the UI when users in the kids group have taken 2 cookies, which is a little tricky to get right. It would be much better if this limit could be implemented on the server side, in AirTable, somehow.Any thoughts anyone, please?
Hey there, I'm stuck at this point and really hope some expert could help me out. As a language center, we collect payments from the students in phases. We have a "master" table including students' information, I then sync the view to another base for payment tracking. I really want to keep using that "synced view" for accounting purpose, because then I don't have to type in the whole list of names again. In another way, I want to keep the information consistent and save time from creating and updating many lists for different departments in the company. However, for the accounting base, I can't add rows below each student's name (as it is a synced view!) to track their different payments (divided into 4). I had to track those veritically (adding columns instead of rows) and this causes some inconveniences. I want to filter the Data by status, for example "Due soon" or "Overdue" and see the sum of the amount of money we expect to collect in the future, but the cur
Hi, for some reason, when I input numbers with two decimal places in my 'number' field, they automatically round up to 1 decimal place. How can I prevent this from happening? Thank you!
Hello folks!Total newb here!I have a base with 2 tables. Table 1 is orders that are placed by customers. Table 2 is a list of those products with a corresponding URL to the image.I'm trying to have the Cover Art field in Table 1 populate with the corresponding date from Cover Art URL in Table 2; based on the Product field in Table1 when the customer places the order.Basically when a customer places an order, I want the Cover Art field in Table 1 to pull the appropriate URL from Table 2, based on the Product field in Table 1. Does that sound utterly confusing?I've attached some screenshots in case it's helpful.I've been spinning around online trying to figure out how to accomplish something I believe is actually simple. With grace,JQ
