How often have you experienced the dread when a near-perfect no-code solution stops working?Application sustainability is critical for developers, especially those with no/low-code technology solutions. One factor that can significantly compromise the sustainability of cloud service platforms is the absence of point-in-time production snapshots.If you've worked with no/low-code platforms, this is a huge problem that has a relatively simple remedy.Point-in-time production snapshots are simply an application's code and sometimes certain data that are frozen (in time) and made available for sustained production use. A snapshot provides an exact copy of an application's environment, including its dependencies, configuration, and data. This means developers can easily recreate an application's environment, even if the original environment has moved forward and changed significantly.Point-in-time production snapshots are essential for application sustainability. Without them, developers who
Amazon’s new AWS AppFabric offers a smart and seemingly free way to connect software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, but it may also be the ideal way to free customers from no-code integration platforms with high switching costs. If the switching cost moat evaporates, how will the no-code integration glue factories keep you as customers?No-code and low-code application builders who have unwittingly become glue-sniffing addicts of code-less integration face massive switching costs. Moving from Zapier to Make or custom integrations is a lot of work. AI removes the switching cost friction - soon, it won’t matter.If you can switch to an integration layer that is free (or near-free) by simply describing in your native language what the integration needs to do, would you stay with Make? Zapier? Whatever?
Hot off the heels of this week’s exciting API auth and documentation updates, I’m excited to show and tell you about a Raycast extension that uses the new OAuth and metadata endpoints. First - What’s Raycast? Raycast is an extendable alternative to Apple’s Spotlight. The new Airtable Raycast extension allows a user to browse the bases, tables, fields, and views they granted the application access to (a part of the Airtable OAuth flow). A GIF of the basic functionality is below and you can follow this link to the Raycast extension store to learn more and install the extension. The extension is open source at https://github.com/Airtable-Labs/raycast-extension and https://github.com/raycast/extensions/tree/main/extensions/airtable Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I think there’s a lot that could be improved and would love to hear your ideas too! Special thanks to @SeanKeenan and other teammates for their help! – And lastly, an obligatory legal disclaimer since this i
Hey everyone, I spent some time in the last couple weeks to upgrade my personal habit builder to include some latest features. Just learnt that the progress bar is supported natively. It looks so good! 🤩The habit builder includes:goal gallery: with goal templates, calculated progress (I'm so glad that progress bar is now supported as a native feature. This looks so good!) and status reporting all at glance. Built in automations to auto populate weekly log and reminding off track goals.current week: quick access to log progress, feelings and notes for goals.activity overview: list of goals and activities, with filter, sort, search and moreinsights: analytics on goals and deepdive into activitiesIt uses some of the more advanced Airtable features including formula, rollups, progress bar, interface, automation. The habit builder is particularly beneficial when your goal is to carry out a task daily and steadily advance over time. Check out https://plannerhq.gumroad.com/l/habitbuilde

Hi All. More bad news on the Pro to Teams transition. Normally on the Pro plan we had access to a color palette for single and multiple select that gave us 40 different colors. On the new bases we create today we are choked back down to just 10, telling me to upgrade if I want more colours. This despite the fact that all the pages advertising for "Teams" state that it should still be 40. (See attached screenshot). I've already watched my storage space cut in half and now the colors are reduced by 75 percent? What's going on?
(Updated this post to make the directions more clear and highlight a few caveats)The lack of folders inside workspaces has driven me a bit mad, as I have dozens of bases I'd like to group and organize my own way. This is my workaround using Google Drive. You'll end up with a synced table (preferably in a standalone base) that will function as an index of every base in your Airtable account, which you can group & sort however you please with the use of added fields, and from which you can click into any base. BEFORE YOU STARTYou and anyone that plan to use this index will need to be signed into a Google account and (obviously) an Airtable account from a web browser. The index can be viewed from the Airtable desktop app but will only open new bases in a web browser. (Annoying if you prefer the desktop app.)This workaround is best suited for those working solo or with a small team on non-Enterprise plans. Maintenance can be cumbersome if you're indexing bases across many workspac
Something sooooo wierd is happening to me that is driving me crazyI am trying to compare a date with today. Easy task aparently. (anyway working on dates is never easy to me)Look what is going on:Two date fields createdDate 1 is TODAYDate 2, the date of a free class at my schoolNow i created two testing formulasAnd testing 2. Just substituting Date 1 field by today() So both formulas are supposed to give the same output, but....OMG!!! no idea about what is happening! Any help please!
The new "Record Review" interface layout is very useful and simple to use, but on fullscreen mode components does not expand to occupy all available screen space. It´s also not possible to change "grid" or "timeline" components height.
HelloI imported a excel doc where I prioritize items based on a 1-4 scale for sorting. I also use "Z" to sort items to the bottom that no longer need a priority. After I imported to airtable, its only letting me sort my priority column "First - Last" or "Last - First" which I am not familiar with. So i changed the "z" items to "999" thinking airtable might only recognize numbers. Didn't help. The "1" priority is still not sorting to the top.In short, I get that airtable wont sort as if it was a spreadsheet but i need to know how to label my prioities so they sort.Right now, I am using 1 - Ultra High2 - High3 - Medium4 - Low999 - Unavailable or ScreenedHelp?
Hello AT FamilyTable: Properties (is our base table with all of our info)Table: Mortgagehas all mortgage info pertaining to each property in Properties TableThe main statuses in this table is "Yes, No, Refinancing"Note: some properties in this table have had two mortgages, which means to two lenders at one point, which means two status, "Yes and No"Table: InsuranceI need ONLY the lenders from the "Yes" status in the Mortgage Table to be looked up in this tableThe problem I'm having is it's pulling the both lenders with "Yes and No" status.How do I make it only pull the Yes lenders?When I filter to show ONLY Yes, it doesn't show anything because the property may have a Yes and No status.
Hello Airtable communityI've been diligently working on a time-tracking solution in Airtable for a nonprofit organization. Inspired by a YouTube video from Dan Lehman, I aimed to craft a system where volunteers could easily log their hours during a program. The base setup was straightforward, but I've hit a roadblock when integrating custom buttons within the Airtable Interface.Base Setup:Table: "Time Logs".Fields: Volunteer full name, VITA site (with options: El pueblo and Quincie), Certifications (with options: Basica and Advanced), Time In, Time Out, and Duration.Functionality:I implemented two button fields:"Start Time Tracking": Populates the "Time In" field with the current time."End Time Tracking": Populates the "Time Out" field and calculates the duration.Both buttons are linked to custom scripts to automate the time-tracking process.Issue: Transitioning to the Airtable Interface to provide a streamlined experience, I've found a challenge. I added a List element to display reco

The "revision history" of records is great, but it has its limitations. If you're using the free version of Airtable for example, you only get 2 weeks' worth of revision history. It also logs absolutely every change made to a record by anyone, which can become difficult to sift through if your base is complicated and has multiple collabators.As a workaround for this, I've started using automations to log particular changes I want to monitor, by simply using the NOW() function as a datestamp that's pasted into a long text field each time the actions I want to log are taken. The automation takes the contents of the {Change log} field and copies it back into itself each time along with the new datestamp and notes of actions taken. So what you're left with is a running tally of certain actions within each field.Another advantage of this is that, because the change log is actually a field within a base, which the revision history is not, you can display it in an inte
Is there an easy way (like a shortcut) to navigate to the first column of the current row in a grid view?
Hi, Airtable community! I'm developing a custom solution for a small gynecology clinic in Barcelona but I don't understand very well Airtable's pricing. Hope you can help me out!In terms of users and permissions, I’ll need 5 editors and 6 commenters. I think it is covered in the free plan but If I want to upgrade to the plus plan to benefit from more records per table, how much I’ll need to pay?Let’s say I have a module called Patients where I have records about their personal info, visits, clinical history, etc. I’d like that user called receptionists to be able to record and modify patients' info but not able to change/modify module configuration. In that case, which plan I’ll need?Any help will be appreciated!
Hi Im trying to Compress multiple fields with one script, I tried searching for a solution but I haven't came across to anything.I was able to find one but i'm only able to compress one field but not multiple fields // Modify these to your own values.let tinyPngApiKey = 'xxxxxxxxxx';let airtableAttachmentSource = 'Instructor Sample Artwork #1';let airtableAttachmentDestination = 'Optimized Artwork 1';let airtableColumnToLog = 'Optimized Artwork 1';// Don't change these unless you know what you're doing.let table = base.getTable(cursor.activeTableId);let view = table.getView(cursor.activeViewId);let queryResult = await view.selectRecordsAsync();for (let record of queryResult.records) {let recordAttachmentUrl = record.getCellValue(airtableAttachmentSource)[0]['url'];console.log('Compressing ' + record.getCellValue(airtableColumnToLog)) let request = await remoteFetchAsync('https://api.tinify.com/shrink', {body: JSON.stringify({'source': {'url': recordAttachmentUrl}}),headers: {
Using Airtable and Zapier, I am trying to link uploaded photos in an email.For example, we are using Airtable as our backend system and once a job is complete we upload photos of the completed job, is there a way to link this attachment field to use in an outbound email?I assumed I could use this link in the Zapier / Email automation: However this link doesn't work: Any help would be appreciated. Currently we have sent the files from AirTable to Google Drive and using the shared link from there, however Google Drive uploads all of AirTables attachments in a zip folder so it shares it as a zip.
Hi everyone,I made a Trip Planner for tracking some of my trips a while ago. It helps keeping my trip and activities organized. I figured I would share this basic base version in case anyone would want a trip planner starter. Feel free to copy and update the base in any form.I also has a more comprehensive version allows me to do more thorough planning, reviewing and budgeting etc, since l love traveling a lot! It also comes with interfaces, which looks nice and handy. It's available here (https://plannerhq.gumroad.com/l/tripplanner) with more information 😁If you got any questions, reply or emailing me!Thanks!
You can now query Airtable with GraphQL! At StepZen we’ve built tools to create a GraphQL API out of an existing REST API (or database). This way you can take the REST API from Airtable and transform it into GraphQL. There are two ways to get a GraphQL API for Airtable, either with code or without writing any code. Without code: Visit StepZen GraphQL Studio and insert your API Key, Base id and Table name. With code: Install CLI (npm i -g stepzen) Run command to import a REST API stepzen import curl "https://api.airtable.com/v0/BASE_ID/TABLE" -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" Run stepzen start and the CLI will return the endpoint you can use to query Airtable with GraphQL. I want to display the task to fix bugs and other tasks in kanban views for easily tracking and unite all the tasks: x-axis will be the type of our tasks, and y-axis will be the status of each tasks. However, it seems like Kanban view doesn't allow to setup with multi-selection so could you guys give me an idea to set up them on Kanban or Interface/Gantt chart to display all the tasks?
I have been working on an Airtable integration called TaskRobin to save emails to Airtable.With features such as saving email meta data such as sender, timestamp, attachments and more, you can easily create a fully automated email ticketing system based on your emails.If you regularly receive emails that are tasks and need to be acted on, then this is for you.So here's how:Connect your Airtable with TaskRobin with 3 simple stepsSetup auto-forward rules or manually forward your email tasks to TaskRobin's robot inbox. TaskRobin will automatically save all the email data to your AirtableManage and update the email tasks in Airtable. That's it!The best part is that you can integrate TaskRobin into existing tables you may have and customise the email meta data to be saved.TaskRobin can also create a contacts table that will automatically create and update contacts found in your saved emails for you. All email records are linked to the contacts records too!We ar
