Feature request It would be great if the expanded record view could be customised separately from the grid view. From a UX perspective, it doesn’t make sense to set the field view of the expanded single record to the field view of the entire table of records. The use case for the grid view is distinct from the expanded record view e.g. I want to see more columns of data in the grid view which may guide me to the record. Since the expanded record is effectively a form view, the layout and default fields should be further custom. I guess this is similar to what Stacker.app are doing but it would be good to have it native in Airtable.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add a Feature so you can change the background color of cells and whole colums manually or based on condition matching. How does is solve the user problems? Design of Tables and List Views will get more clean and easier to use / navigate. Also Users can color cells based on their content (like positive=green, negative=red, ...) How was this validated? It's basic visual Design theories. Who is the target audience? Nearly everyone, at least every user who needs to navigate through big airtable bases & list views.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Increase the functionality of the new form builder so that when the form is submitted the user is redirected to another URL. How does is solve the user problems? We use this on our new website to redirect the user to a form submitted page so that we can track conversations in Google Analytics. How was this validated? Greater control over where a user is directed post form submission. Who is the target audience? Web dev's and website users.

Good morning, I did an accessibility test of a form that I built through AirTable and found the following issues that I would like to suggest that you repair. I would like to create a similar form that will be available to the public through our website, but until the accessibility improves, I will not be able to do so. Checkbox box and other input field borders need stronger color contrast. Linked text need stronger color contrast. Markers indicating the Required status of questions do not have strong enough color contrast. Checkbox field needs a label in order for screen reader users to know what “clickable” means. Single Line Text fields should really have programmatically identified labels for screen reader users. Perhaps the title/question as worded in the form could be used as the label. For mulit-select option with the list format, it would be nice if the checkboxes were programmed to be announced as checkboxes to screen reader users. Also, if these options were truly in a list format, a screen reader user should be able to hear “List with [ # ] list items,” before entering the list. For the single-select option with the list format, it would be nice if the radio buttons were programmed to be announced as radio buttons to screen reader users. Also, if these options were truly in a list format, a screen reader user should be able to hear “List with [ # ] list items,” before entering the list. I would like to request that the form design be double checked to make sure it does not cause a keyboard trap when a screenreader/keyboard users tabs through a page in which the form is embedded. In my quick test, it appeared to me that it does cause a keyboard trap prior to submitting a response. Once a response is submitted, the Add another response button is not accessible to the screenreader/keyboard user, but the user is no longer trapped in the iFrame. When required fields are not filled out, the error message does not have strong enough color contrast. Fields that require a URL allow submissions of non-URL content. I think that adding an error message that appears when the submission does not include http:// is good usability, if not accessibility. The Submit button and " Never submit passwords through Airtable forms. Report abuse." message at the bottom of the form, does not have strong enough color contrast. I did not see where the Report Abuse link was included in the Tab order.

We use Airtable as a CRM and event management. These uses have been accomplished using separate bases but there’s been a growing desire for this process to be streamlined with an emphasis on leveraging the data already in the CRM. Ultimately, what I’m suggesting is Lookup Fields displayed on a Form View once a Link to Another Record Field is populated.
Here’s a use case: CRM has a Table containing contacts with contact information (phone number, email address, etc.) and a Table for an event’s participants. The participant table has a Form View. The first field/question on the form is a Link to Another Record Field where the registrant selects their name. The next field/question would be a Lookup field displaying the phone number found on the linked record. The next field/question would ask if the phone number was still correct. The next field/question could be a question conditionally visible if the phone number was incorrect. We’d then repeat the process for the other data displayed by the Lookup fields.

We would love for there to be a way to customize the calendar view in a way that would allow us, for example, to track events (records) that are occurring simultaneously across various locations (dropdown field). Kind of like how you can see various Google Calendars side-by-side (which was the workaround we used this year via Zapier). A more specific breakdown of what we're looking to do is as follows: - The ability to create sections within the calendar view based on a dropdown field within the Table. Since we're hosting events across various venues throughout the day, it's vital that we see every event side-by-side, split up by venue to ensure there's no overlap. - When choosing to add other date fields to pull from, it'd be great to be able to customize what information goes into those additional date fields instead of AirTable just expanding the main record. Example: Each event (record) has an introduction, Q&A, and turnaround time. If there was a way to have the calendar show those different start/end times separately, and if we could choose what areas from that record are highlighted, that would be ideal.

Not having this capability caused us to leave Airtable last year when looking to use it for planning, tracking, & communicating our go-to-market (GTM) projects. We are now giving it another try and having success for OKR management and want to again attempt using it for providing visibility into our GTMs. The calendar view need to enable us to see monthly, 2 months, quarterly, and annual views (at a minimum 2 and 3 months at time). This is critical for GTM planning & communications. It would enable us, as well as key stakeholders across the company to get a comprehensive view of upcoming launches and those identified for further out in the year. Without this capability, we may not be able to use this for planning, tracking, and communicating GTM projects. And no, the Timeline view does not meet this need very well… and if it did, it would also need to include the ability to publish the timeline view.

I paid for the pro version specifically for this feature and the fact that it wastes my prospects time by saying “you will be redirected in a few seconds to xyz url” makes this feature almost redundant because I don’t want people dropping off before they’re tagged on the next page with my facebook/google tracking pixels so I will have to use another software like typeform or jotform just because of this…

I really need for Kanban to work with a multiselect field the way Timeline works. The ability to group/lane by each option in the multiselect field. Then if there is more than one selection then the card appears in each lane of the selections. I would think that in the split scenario, if a card is selected with options A and B ... then if you grab a card to move it from option A to Option C, it would result in Option B and option C now. If you needed to add a 3rd selection, then you would go into expanded view to edit the selections. We are using this as a todo/workload board. Anything under a team/persons name indicates it's in progress, and we can see what they are working on and when each are due. In some cases we have a task that needs more than one person working on it, but do not want to create new projects for these scenarios.
