In Excel/GSheets you can automatically adjust the min width of columns by double-clicking the separator. It would be nice to do this in Airtable’s grids as well 😄

We cannot color by lookup fields. Even if “Allow linking to multiple records” is disabled on the Record Linker, the option to select Single Select Lookup fields is disabled in the record coloring menu. This makes no sense, and is a real hamper on operations that make use of Airtables Sync feature to integrate multiple bases with each other. I understand that the option is probably disabled because lookup fields are arrays, but there is absolutely no reason it should be disabled when the linker field is restricted to only allow the linking of one item. This is an oversight that forces users to spend a huge amount of time drafting custom color rulesets.

I love the fact that, in Grid View, you can manually re-order records, and sort by a variety of criteria. But it would also be nice if you could sort and manually re-order GROUPS of records, when displaying in groups.
Currently, the only option is an alphabetical sorting of groups. That just doesn’t work for our project management base, in which we commonly create views for a particular user, sorted by status (in progress, with client, on hold, etc) or by priority. It would be great to be able to put the most relevant groups at the top.

I manage one base with two interfaces for my company. One is the Team interface everyone has access to and the other is a Management interface where only management has access to. The Team interface undergoes the most evolution and it's nearly impossible for me to keep open record panels consistent across both interfaces. Frankly, I find it ridiculous you can't copy open record panels from another interface that shares the same base but that's another point entirely. Ideally, I would like consolidate both interfaces into the Team interface and the Management pages have a password protection feature that prompts you to fill in a password (one singular password specified in the interface editor - no need for separate user passwords) before permitting access to the page. The current system makes it difficult to scale and retain consistency across multiple interfaces and I feel like this would be a simple solution with a big impact on permissions.

PLEASE add the ability to use PDF export from page designer in automation! Or at least add the PDF as an attachment field in the record. The only way to get use out of the page designer is to manually download each record, would to use for creating static documentation of what a record looks like at a given time or send to client for review, etc.

Please add a signature field. Seriously… I could get rid of two different apps & move all my databases to Airtable if you could add a signature field.

(I’m trialing Kanban to see if it makes sense to [try to] get our person team to switch from Asana)
Because of each Kanban column is so thin, and the font for the title of the card is so large, only a few words from the record’s title fit in the card, and I often need to click on the card to understand what it is about. This is the case even after I significantly shortened the titles.
One possible solution would be to make the font size smaller, or customizable.
Another possible solution could be to make the width of columns customizable. Right now I have a board with 4 columns, and the right half of my screen is completely empty, which doesn’t make sense considering I can’t even read the short titles in full. If I could make columns wider, I’d be able to see the full text. However, this would only fix the problem for boards with few columns.
For boards with more columns, we’d still need another fix, like making text smaller or skinnier.

Currently because the kanban columns are very thin, AND the title for the cards are shown in a large font (relative to the width of the columns), most of my card titles are being truncated, even after considerable effort to make them shorter.
I’m new to AirTable and it looks very nice, it has potential to replace Asana for our team, but this one thing is rendering the Kanban view essentially useless for me.
Any ideas?

My entire team about 10 of us are very active on AT mobile. But the biggest problem is we have to go to our desktop to check blocks. Is there anyway I can access blocks on mobile?

I’m really underwhelmed by the lack of pivot table functionality, which are basic features in google sheets and excel:
Sorting (Can only sort by field used for rows, why not sort by other fields not shown?) Also mentioned here: Sort Pivot table by Column values
Exporting
Formatting
Mark-up
I’m sure there’s other stuff missing that I’m not running into yet.

I want to use the interface as a place to invite my clients to collaborate with me, right now the level of personalisation is ok but needs more. Let me show you an example to explain how amazing the improvement would be by allowing a banner image on top of the interface Look how nice the interface looks by adding just a header image :D!!! I really need this feature, willing to use it soon with my clients 🙂 there are others, such as, allowing more colours (or a personalised palette) within the buttons and number boxes. That would be awesome to make everything match to my branding colours. Also, at some point, if you allow to charge subscription to our clients to have access to the system on a monthly basis that would be AMAZING! that way I can rest in peace as I know all my clients will use the system and pay on a regular basis for it :)!
