Hello Airtable Community! My name is Akshar Patel (AP) and I am a Delivery Consultant here at Airtable. We are thrilled to announce a powerful new feature that will revolutionize the way you manage and import data into your Airtable bases: CSV Import in Interfaces. What is CSV Import in Interfaces? With this new feature, end users can seamlessly upload CSV files directly through the interface, making it easier than ever to add data to your Airtable base. Say goodbye to manual data entry and hello to efficiency! We’ve heard from customers that supporting the ability to import CSVs in Interfaces can help unlock use cases like data entry for marketing teams, inventory management, and project planning. Interfaces can be a great fit for teams where not everyone needs access to the full underlying data, and with this launch, teams can still add in a lot of data without having to give data access to everyone. Key Configuration Options: Field Customization:
It’s here! You can now configure form fields so that they display or hide based on the submitter’s responses in previous fields. Here’s how to use it in the form builder: Underneath the field title/description, turn ON the toggle switch labeled “Show field only when conditions are met.” Choose another field and the value or condition it should meet. Like with filters, you can add as many conditions as you’d like to a field. And here’s some useful tips: You can chain together multiple conditional form fields in a sequence—i.e., use one conditional form field as the condition for another form field You can make conditional form fields required! When a conditional form field is set as required, it is hidden by default until its condition is met. Once its condition is met, the form will still require it to be filled for submission. More information can be found in the conditional form fields support article.
Today we're excited to release three new features that will greatly improve Project Management workflows in Airtable. These include a new gantt layout option, date dependencies which work across views and a better way to preview utilization when assigning tasks. 1. Gantt in interfacesIf you ever wondered why we needed two separate views for timeline and gantt, so did we. Gantt is now a layout option within timeline view. This means you can now view and manage dependent tasks within interfaces or anywhere else you have a timeline view, by selecting gantt in the new layout toggle. 2. Date dependency configurationPowering the new gantt option in timeline is the ability to configure date dependencies which work across all of your views and interfaces. So if you connect two tasks in a timeline view but then edit the dates elsewhere, the dates will reschedule accordingly regardless. This is particularly powerful if you are working with the same data in multiple views fo

Hello! My name is Sarah and I’m a software engineer at Airtable focused on helping new users get up and running with Airtable. I’m excited to jump into the community and share that today we’ve launched the ability to close form submissions! This will allow you to stop accepting form responses and show a friendly message to your users instead of the form. Previously, you would have had to unshare the form and users would see a generic page unavailable message. Here is a link to our updated support documentation related to this functionality. We hope you’re as excited about this as we are! 🎊
Hi Airtable Community, Today, we’re announcing new capabilities that unlock a new level of scale and sophistication for the workflows you build on Airtable. With today’s launch, Airtable is taking a massive step forward in becoming your digital operations platform for the AI era. You’ve shown us that there is a gap in the market: On one hand, project management, collaboration, and SaaS point solutions are often quickly adopted by teams, but don’t scale up to solve cross-functional business processes. These tools have bolted on AI features that are limiting and inflexible. On the other hand, there’s the heavyweight approach of building your own custom internal apps from scratch. While this route allows greater control, you’re bottlenecked by technical teams who have a laundry list of requests from the business. With AI, this path is just too slow and disconnected from real business impact. Airtable offers a different way. The people closest to the process – all of yo

Hello everybody! :tada: I’m Sean, an engineer here at Airtable, and I’m excited to share a small (but hopefully mighty 🤞 ) change we made recently to grid view. Have you ever had a lot of fields in a view, and had difficulty finding the field? Well now searching (with CMD-F / CTRL-F) will highlight fields as well as cells: Zooming into the exciting part: You might also notice that we added summary information at the bottom. The number of cells found (in case you relied on how many “matches” were found previously), as well as how many matching records and fields there are!
Hello, I’m Rosalind and I’m a Product Marketing Manager at Airtable. I’m excited to share a small but often-requested new feature with you today: the ability to output the result of formula fields as a set of single-select options! Formula fields already allow you to output their results as plain strings, numbers, and dates, and now we’re adding the ability to output results as a set of predefined single-select options. Single-select options are more visually pleasing than plain strings and clearly illustrate that a field has one value within a defined set of possible values. We’ve heard from many Airtable builders who have used Automations to achieve the same result by copying formula results into single-select fields – hopefully, those Automations can now be retired! To try out the new feature: Open an Airtable base and navigate to the Data tab Create a new Formula field (or click on the column header of an existing formula field you want to change, then click ‘Edit field’) Write

Hello Airtable Community, We're back with some little big timeline view improvements to make it easier to plan and manage capacity across projects. Here's a high-level summary of the improvements we've made: 1. Re-designed summary bar ☘️ We made the summary bar fully responsive, so values will be visible in most cases. When they're cut off you can now easily mouse over them to see the full value. We also improved the display of holidays and time off which now show as 'PTO' or whatever custom label you prefer. 2. Drill into tasks & projects 🔎 You can now group by person first and tasks / projects second, allowing you to get a high level picture of your team’s utilization and then drill down into the specific work each person is assigned to. 3. Assign tasks to multiple people 👨‍👨‍👦 It’s pretty common that work is split between multiple people. The resource field now accepts linking to multiple records, which means you can assi

Hello, Airtable community! I'm Johari, a software engineer here at Airtable. I'm excited to share some enhancements to Interfaces that will give you more control and flexibility when collaborating with your team.New Linked Record Creation/Deletion in Various ElementsThe first enhancement allows collaborators to create and delete new linked records directly within List, Grid, Calendar, Kanban, and Timeline elements. This feature simplifies the process of adding and deleting related records. Gone are the days of the lock icon and complex workarounds to create/delete linked records in interfaces. Now, you can swiftly and seamlessly accomplish this within your current layout. To access this functionality, you will need to enable the Inline Creation/Deletion setting mentioned below. Settings Separation: Inline Creation/Deletion and Inline EditingThe second improvement gives you more granular control over your layouts. We've separated the settings that enable inline creation/deletion of
