Hi, everyone! I need help in combining names from two Rollup fields with the result below:First Name Last name Formula Field (Result I want)Mary A. Mary AMary & John A & A Mary & John AMary & John A & B &n
Hey all! Im currently using the Project Management template airtable has provided to track our engineering projects. Id like to remain using this template as it has some functions built in to show progress of each project, and using the predefined fields they display nicely in Gantt view. This is done by linking records from the Tasks table (each record is a task). The template has a table for Projects, and a secondary table with all the Tasks. In our case, every engineering project has the exact same set of tasks, so it wouldn't make sense to keep adding redundant tasks over and over to the Tasks table in order to set up the differing deadlines. I would rather create a new table listing all the tasks for one project, and duplicate the said table and rename for other projects. The problem with this is that in the Projects table, I can only link to records from one other table, hence the connected formula fields can only show progress of one project. Im not sure how I
Is it possible to see revision history for changes to a View? I have a base that's shared with many people, and there's one collaborative view which is being changed with filters and sorts. I don't want to lock this view down, because some people do need to make updates. So I'm trying to track down who is tampering with the view setup. Is that possible to see?
Hello!I am working on an inventory project and have created a view that groups items by location (ie. bin 1, bin 2, bin 3). I would like to make QR codes for each bin that you can scan and view its contents. I was wondering if it's possible to generate links to specific groups within a view!
Problem formula: DATETIME_DIFF({Task Due}, TODAY(), 'hours') Short Version: It's currently 5pm Pacific. The Task Due is due tonight at 12:00am Pacific. DATETIME_DIFF reflects -24. Why is this hours calculation reflecting 24 hours instead of 7? Long Version:I have a field, DEADLINE DAY CALCULATION, that I want to reflect TODAY if Task Due is today, TOMORROW if Task Due is tomorrow, DAY OF WEEK if Task Due is after Tomorrow, and PAST DUE if Task Due is before today. Because Airtable functions in GMT and our team is in Pacific Time, using 'days' would change at 5pm our time to reflect that TODAY is PAST DUE. I cannot fix this by toggling on Time Zones in the Task Due field because we do not use times for due dates, and this toggle only works if times are not hidden. Last week I built a formula to offset the GMT change by 8 hours:IF({Deadline Day Calculation} <= "-17", "PAST DUE", IF({Deadline Day Calculatio
I created a rollup field for my leadership score column but it only is showing the sum of one of the projects (project A) and not the other (project C).
I have a set of Businesses on Table A and a Form that will create a new User for Table B. I want a User to search through the Businesses using an Interface, click on a button from a specific Business record, and then be able to fill out a form that will create a new User record on Table B that is linked to a Business on Table A. (Does that makes sense?)Is there a way to do this in one step? I see where I can "Go to external URL" to launch the New User form, but is there a way to simultaneously copy the Business record information as I launch the new User form? Is there a better way to think about this?Automations make the most sense because I can only select one button Action, but is there a way to launch a Form via Automations?
Hi, I have problem that synced table missing data. I have one Master base and second base where is synced data from Master base. Today I found that one specific record missing value from Master base (not sure right now If I have more records that are missing data, because I have almost 4k records and 20+tables in Airtable Master base and many many linked to another records fields 🙄I already created a bug ticket to support but no answer so far (time difference etc)Is anyone having the same issue with linked to another record field? I found that in January some users had the same problem. It is must be feature for our company because the data should end up on Wordpress eventually (like prices etc)picture in attachment
Hello everyone, In Germany, there is a regulation in the Occupational Health and Safety Act that states workers who work between 11 PM and 6 AM receive an additional allowance on their salary. This involves a complex formula, which even ChatGPT struggles with. Maybe there is someone here who is smarter than AI.My table includes a date field including time field named {Start} and a date field including time field named {End}. I want a formula that calculates the hours/minutes that fall within the period from 11 PM to 6 AM.Example: Max starts his shift at 8 PM and works until 4 AM. The formula should now calculate 5 hours. Can someone help me?
I did some digging around on the boards and it would seem having a "button" for merely copying text into the clipboard is pretty tough. I would however love to see this implemented in the functionality for the button field added under actions. See attached image to see where I mean. My specific use case is that I built a calculator for Day Trading, and I wrote a formula that generates my trades that I can just copy/paste into my trading platform. It would be really nice to be able to get my trades on my clipboard in a single click vs having to click-drag a part of the page on my interface, copy, and then paste. Basically for the action all you'd have to do is specify a field, and when the button is clicked its contents are copied onto the clipboard. Thanks!
Having a problem with printing from Page Designer from the Airtable app. We're using the workaround for >1 page documents, where we just make the page height 2x the height of our paper size and when we print, it splits into two pages. Except, when we use the Airtable desktop app (Mac or Win) the text somehow overlaps on itself (screenshot attached). This doesn't happen when using Chrome, but we use this constantly, so keeping an extra Chrome window is not ideal... And it just doesn't work as well with some other things we do, either.Anyone else run into this, and/or have a thought for a fix?
Hello,I have weird behavior when sending a webhook. For this project, I am working on a free airtable space. So I can't use scripts. This is a table in which I have large images. I want to reduce them (basically, go from 3-4 MB to 150 KB).I have a Make scenario which is fine except that it receives the duplicate webhook and therefore triggers twice. In Airtable, I have an automation that will copy a webhook into an attachment field to launch the webhookthe trigger: when the “Image” field is updatedthe webhook: a formula = WH Make & record ID Airtable & a timestamp of the modified las (without the timestamp, the WH is always identical and Airtable only triggers it the first time)When I modify the image, the autom airtable only fires once, but Make receives 2 webhooksAnyone have any idea why? (and a solution)
When making an Automation to email me when a form is submitted (as this apparently isn't an option built into the form anymore?) When I select the 'When a Form is submitted' Trigger Type, I can't find the form in the drop down...Any thoughts?
I have a table in a base, but I want to move this table to a different base. However, I am using it as a linked table in other tables' fields. Is it possible to move this table to another base and keep the linked record information on the other tables? Or it will break the links? Thanks in advance.
Hi there! I use a synched base to manage active studentsIf a student drops out of a course, they are labeled as ex-students, which lead to them being de-synced. They may return a few weeks before, taking another course. Marked as a student again, they are synced again. I realized that Airtable remembers the fields of this record in the synched table and automatically reruns teh automations, resulting in some failures. Can someone tell me how to avoid this airtable function!?I hope I have explained this properly. Sorry for my english! Thanks!David
Problem Explanation:I need help with sharing specific records in an Airtable interface with various teams that I work with, without exposing the underlying data. Here are the details:Objective: Share the interface and only specific records with the team but not the base, ensuring team members see only their team's records.Current Method: Using the interface share button to share the interface, not the base.Challenge: I do not want to add team members as collaborators to the base to filter records based on their email or collaborator column.Limitations: Creating separate interfaces for each team to share with is inefficient and not scalable, especially since team sizes vary from one to twenty members.Question:What is the best way to filter records for each team and its team members when they log into the interface, without allowing them access to the base?Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
We've been using Airtable for several years to track our Marketing & Design projects. We have a "Designer" field that is a dropdown menu of Airtable user names to pick from.I am now trying to mimic Airtable's Resource Allocation template to track team resources and team availability. However, I'm running into an issue since our system is based on the Designer filed pulling in Airtable user names, compared to the Resource Allocation template that uses a table of designer names (which would also include # hours a week worked, scheduled time off, etc)How do I create a "bridge" that will look at the Designer field (username drop down) and tie it to the same person's name in the new Designer table so in addition to tracking each person's weekly hours, time off, it also connects to all jobs assigned to them? Here's a video explanation of what I'm trying to accomplish.https://app.screencast.com/kmTOnXsEluj56?tab=Details&conversation=AyA1GmOhWWJyOvctR5LtRj
Hello, a colleague of mine has the option to “allow viewers to edit view” under the “share” button without adding them as a collaborator. My “share” button does not have that option. Thanks!
Hello again, a new puzzle for me.I have a summary report table that uses a view of records filtered by a particular month from another table for data. The summary table uses a linked field and I want to be able to select all the records in the linked view for the summary. Right now I have to individually select each record. This isn't bad if you have, say, 1 - 10 records. But sometimes I have over 100. That's a lot of clicking. Is there a way to select all the records available in the list that pops up to select from? Thanks, Scott
It is quite disappointing logging into the new interface today. Already it has caused inconvenience to its users and I hope users will get the option to choose the interface that works best for them. One major issue is the inability to sort workspaces in the order you want, which can make it challenging to find specific workspaces quickly, especially if you have many of them. Another issue is the inability to rearrange bases by dragging and dropping, which was a convenient feature that saved users time and effort. Furthermore, when you click on any workspace interface, accessing the home page is not as easy as it used to be. This can be frustrating for users who need to quickly navigate to the home page to access essential features and information.Lastly, some users may feel that the new interface looks outdated compared to the previous version. The visual aspect of an interface can be just as important as its functionality. A modern and visually appealing interface can make
Good morning everyone.I have two different databases because I organize two different companies and sell cars. Both have their own car stock but I would like to create a table with both stocks together (they have the same column format). The IDs of the two tables are AUTONUMBER but I could use the frame as the unique id.I currently did this:1) created a synchronized table from database B to database A2) created record creation automation from database sync table B to table A (works)3) when I try to create the record update automation it always gives me an error, I don't know what to put in the RECORD ID field because it only offers me the data from table B, not AI also tried with Zapier, Make, anyway...How can I solve it? I am going crazy!!
Hello All, I need help with a nested IF statement that references a formula date field. I'm not sure if this is causing my issues, but I can only get my formula to output two of the four values. In the formula below, "Expired" and "Missing" appear, but "Expired" is not accurate when I update the date. What I am trying to accomplish is:- If the date is past today, display 'Expired'.- If it is within six months of the due date, display 'Expiring'.- If it is greater than six months, display 'Active'.- If no date value is in the field, display 'Missing'.If anyone can let me know what I am doing wrong, I would appreciate it. IF( {H.I.P.S - Due Date} < TODAY(), 'Expired', IF( AND( {H.I.P.S - Due Date} >= TODAY(), {H.I.P.S - Due Date} <= DATEADD(TODAY(), 6, 'months') ), 'Expiring', IF( {H.I.P.S - Due Date} > DATEADD(TODAY(), 6, 'months'), 'Active', 'Missing' ) ) )
Hi my org does school lessons, we have lessons, teachers (who host the lesson), and our educators (who deliver the lesson). These are spread across 3 tables, with lessons having links to an educator and one or more teachers. I want to calculate the number of unique teachers an educator has reached. So I created a rollup field on the educator that uses COUNTA(ARRAYUNIQUE(values)) on the lesson's teachers. This works great if each lesson only has one teacher. But some lessons have multiple teachers, I tried a workaround using a lookup field and then a formula using ARRAYUNIQUE but that didn't work, as apparently the array formulas are just for rollup operations. Is there a workaround? Here's an airtable base demonstrating the problem: https://airtable.com/shrSGt3bifbnmwnLp
Hi all,Using Make, Airtable and an API, I built an automation that scrapes reviews of a cultural event from Google Maps. On Google, the date on which a user left a review is not given. Instead, Google provides us with a time period that matches the amount of time that elapsed since the user left his/her review (e.g. 'one year ago'). This type of data does not make it easy to sort reviews in a chronological order. Consequently, I went about transforming this type of data into dates. For this data conversion, I created intermediary fields – Time Unit Count, Time Unit Type and Search Date – that I then combine in a formula in the Date field. But I'm unsatisfied with 2 of those intermediary fields' formulas.1. Time Unit Type field: for this field, I used a series of nested IF statements because I didn't manage to use the SWITCH function properly in this use case. This gives me a long and not-very-clear formula.Would any of you guys have a more elegant solution to suggest?2. Time Unit Count
Hello Airtable Community,I have a relatively complex use case.I have a table in which projects are created, a table for tasks and a table for project phases. Then I have a template table with standard tasks and a template table with standard phases. I would now like both the standard phases and the standard tasks to be created by an automation when a button for a project is clicked.I have created two automations for this, one for the tasks and one for the phases. Everything works fine. Both the tasks and the phases are linked to the project. However, the tasks are not automatically linked to the phase. The aim is that, for example, when all tasks in phase 1 are completed, the phase is also completed.Thank you and best regards.Mirko
