Hi everyone! What I want is for several Airtable basis to ‘sync’ with specific worksheets in a single Google Sheet. I have been testing “When a record matches conditions”, “Append a new row to a spreadsheet” which theoretically should work. But I also need the record to get updated in real time in the Google Sheet, and be removed from there if it’s removed from Airtable. Or, if a column in the record is updated, I would like the Google Sheet to reflect that. That does not seem to be happening. Does anyone have any ideas of what I’m doing wrong?
There is forum category for Apps, Formulas etc… but Automations should have its own category.
Hello, when I create an automation to publish to twitter events with a specific date. This field appears like this on the tweet: 2020-09-30T15:45:00.000Z Instead of a more human-readable format. I want to get something like this: 30/09/2020 15:45? Thanks,
I have no idea where to start on a formula for this. :stuck_out_tongue: What I would like to accomplish is for Airtable to compare two start times and two end times and tell me which of them matches up. One start/end time would be for an event or concert, and the second would be for employee availability. I want to know if an employee has a start/end time that overlaps an events start/end time. If the two times match I would like Airtable to tell me which employees are available during that event or concert. I have two tables, one table is for the event and its information then other table is for keeping track of employees available time. Table 1: is for events and projects. It has a column that has a start time and end time. Table 2: is for employee availability. It also has a column for start time and end time as well. What formula should I start building out. Should I combine the tables together to make it easier? Any suggestions to get me headed in the right direction or if you k
Hey, I’m trying to add an attachment to my action email in response to a trigger. The attachment is PDF or PNG and is in an Attachment field. But every time I run a test, it gives me test error: Step failed. Failed to construct the value for “Attachments”. How do I get it to read the value? Your help is appreciated.
I’m surprised this isn’t an option. Is it for fool-proof reasons?
Hi, With the addition of automations in Airtable, I was wondering if it was possible to automatically click on a button each 1st of the month? I’ve seen the triggers “new record in view”, but not scheduled ones (for example: every day, every month, 1st day of the month, etc.) Do you know if that is possible? Thank you
Hi all, I’m loving the new Automations in Airtable, but getting stuck on what I think should be a pretty simple thing… I have a table that functions as an inbox for messages and attachments coming in via a Zapier integration from an email inbox. And I want to then use Automations to copy these incoming records to various tables where they’ll be processed - I have a growing variety of incoming message types so want to split out the handling of each type to a dedicated table. I can easily create new records and populate with much of the relevant data, but I cannot move an attachment(s) across to the new record in the second table. What’s the easiest way to achieve that? Thanks!
Not sure how to report a bug, however regardless of platform, when I go to click on an Automation flow I’ve built previously, the automation blinks and then its just a big blue box and I can’t see the edit screen for the flow. Ive experienced this 3 times now and it makes airtables unusable as this bug breaks standard functionality. Who do we need to ping and how can we get eyes on this by the developers? Please and thank you in advance
Hi, So I set up an automation and am receiving an error message that I can’t quite work out. The automation is “Create a record” and I am updating about 40 fields. The automation has run successfully many times. The ones that didn’t run were missing some fields, but so were automations that processed successfully. Anyone know how I can get more clarity on what specifically is happening?
Hi guys, I really need help with setting up the search formula for my specific case. We have an attendees email column in Airtable, which each cell will includes multi emails, e.g. email1, email2, email3. In the zap, I need to search certain email in this column, and find the right row, then read the other related info from the same row. I used the FIND("{{94825201__hidden_email}}",{AttendeeEmails}) in the search formula in Zap, which works, but it doesn’t apply to find the exact same email, e.g larose@test.com (let’s say email A), and rose@test.com (let’s say email B), when searching B, the system will find A. Then I changed the formula to FIND(", {{94825201__hidden_email}}",{AttendeeEmails}) , added ", " into, which can help to find e.g “, A”, but this doesn’t apply to the first email address, since there’s no ", " before it. Does anyone have any idea about this will be very appreciated! Another small question, does anyone have the idea to find the multi records/rows at the same
Hello, I have a date field for the start date of my employees and I would like to set up an automation that reminds me after 85 days that their three-month review is coming up. Can someone show me how to set the trigger accordingly?
Hello Airtable Community! I just started to use the Automation feature and I’ve run into some challenges. I am NOT a developer and my Airtable base is used as a CRM for sales. What I am trying to accomplish is every time I update a specific field (Follow Up Date) within an individual record (trigger), I want to create a google calendar event for the specific date that I enter within the Follow Up Date field. As I attempted to put this automation together, I realized that the automation is doing what I asked it to do but not what I want it to do . I’ve learned that the information that I enter in the Follow Up Date is completely irrelevant because the trigger is fired on the event itself and not on the data within that field. That is my first issue. When the trigger fires, a google calendar event will be added based on the start date and end date that I select within the action and NOT by the date I have entered in the Follow Up Date field as my trigger. I am confident that what I wa

Hi all, I’ve almost finished our CRM, but I’m totaly stuck to have a rolling forecast. To simplify it as much as possible: I have an “OPORTUNITIES” table. Each record has a “VALUE in €”, a “CREATED DATE” and a “CLOSING DATE”. I would like, on a second table named “ROLLING”, where each record is a “DATE”, to cumulate all the ‘OPORTUNITIES’ records witch are open at a “DATE” (inbetween “CREATED DATE” and “CLOSING DATE”) in order to have the rollup of all “VALUES in €” per day. –> Having a rolling forcast of my oportunities within time. Thanks a lot
I set up an automation several days ago, which uses the “is before - today” condition to pick up any record which has a due date that has passed (along with a couple of other conditions), and then send a reminder email and update the “reminder last sent date”. However it appears the automation is only picking up records which have a due date yesterday, but nothing prior. Any suggestions on how to resolve this, or is it a known issue?
Hello ! First thing : great work on the Automations, it’s an amazing feature and I love seing the platform being improved every week ! I had a feature request : the “Send an Email” action allows you to use data from the Trigger Record to specify the mail recipient I’d like to be able to do the same with the “Send a Slack message” action, i.e., specify the channel with data from the Trigger Record. Right now I have to create one Automation per channel, which is cumbersome. Best,
The documentation page for RecordQueryResult says “…filtered to a useful subset of the records in the table.” I see that it’s possible to sort and specify which fields are returned but I can’t figure out how to actually filter on selectRecordsAsync. Being able to filter here would be awesome because then I won’t have to manually create views. (Or if it were possible to programmatically create Views I could create the ones I need when a new employee is onboarded.) Thanks!
Is there a way to choose which record gets referenced while setting up and testing an automation? I am setting up some email automations and I want to avoid emailing an actual customer during the testing and trial process. I have a sample customer and a record using the sample customer’s information created; but the record that is referenced for use in the actions section is an earlier record referencing a real customer. The record I want to use for all setup and testing purposes: The record that is being automatically referenced for all setup and testing purposes: I’m sure I could find a workaround by creating a blank new table or moving previous records around in some way, but it would be far easier to just select my sample customer’s record in my live table.
If a base has a date based Automation trigger to send an email, does that base need to be open and logged into in order for the action (i.e. email) to fire? I don’t necessarily plan on logging into Airtable everyday, but I’d like to receive the reminder emails when I don’t. Thanks.
Would it be possible for an automation to automatically flag a link as dead if possible? for example if a link returns a 404 would it be possible to embed code that detects that and flag it in the airtable?
Being able to push a new Contact record to HubSpot. Story: Automation: Connect column field in AirTable to HubSpot property. Create new contact record in AirTable. Check if existing contact exists (use email or name); if DNE create a new one, if Exists then populate missing fields. Let’s make it happen! AI
I love the idea to finally have Airtable have it’s own automation system. What I would wish for is to have a webhook to send to IFTTT, Zapier, or Integromat. I know there is a developer section, but because you have to painstakingly search a particular record by just format, it’s not possible. The closest there is, is by using Gmail to send a email. There is scripts, but I don’t think it supports sending a record to a URL (yet). I would love to see webhooks in the automations in the near future.
Hi everyone! I’ve used Airtable at my previous companies, but am now trying to find a few ways to automate the manual data entry I’m doing. Example: Our company uses Airtable forms for our customer onboardings. Once a form is submitted, I would like for one of my Bases in Airtable to automatically populate the form that was submitted. This way, I don’t need to manually add the form everytime one is submitted. Is this possible?
Hi I have tried different 4 different techniques to partly duplicate a record:- Automation record in view Checkbox triggers automation when record appears filtered view (checkbox true) Creates record populating two fields, a datefield from source record and the value of a lookup field (I’ve also tried getting the lookup value from a formula field instead of directly from the lookup field) as per @Jeremy_Oglesby suggestion in another post. Automation record matches true As above Integromat Webhook triggered by record in view pass record id to integromat webhook search table for record id create new record with date and lookup value Integromat Webhook triggered by record matches As above All of them are now taking 30 seconds to execute! I thought it would be pretty instant especially keeping the functionality all in airtable. I could understand the integromat round trip might take longer but if anything it’s actually faster but still slow! Any ideas why? Thanks Claire
