I am creating our first database (workspace) and I really need help to design things appropriately. The PRIMARY data we track relates to individual condominiums. The owners of those condominiums change periodically and we need to associate “current” and former" owners with each unit. We also need to track maintenance items for each of the units. I want to make certain that I set up “linked” records correctly if that’s the approach I need to take. Please help if you can. I have already spent an enormous amount of time setting up at workspace on our site called"Pelican Workspace."
Hi folks - I’m looking at building a survey / form where users need to pick from a rather large list of items. I have about 300 items that have a description of the item associated with it. I want my users to pick a from the large list which menu items are currently being offered at their respective locations: ie: Menu item name: Pineapple Cocktail Item description: This is a nice summer drink that contains, pineapples, liquor etc. Location offered at: 123 Main Street I am also looking to have the users pick their respective location to understand where they are offering this menu item. If there is any way someone can help out it would be appreciated! -Marc
I am trying to send emails to only selected entries in database and not a whole view. Can sendgrid do that?
I was asked to upgrade the actual my PRO plan because " Looks like one or more of your bases exceed the capacity allotted by your current plan (Pro)". When using Airtable I was checking the usage data and one moth ago, when I see I was reaching the maximum usage I delete almost 7 month of data existing inside the database and I notice that the overall space consumed have not changed at all. There is something I forgot to do or even I delete almost 70% of my data Airtable dont give more available space and I am forced to do an update?
I have a base set up for the families that we support through our feeding programme. There is a tab for individuals, giving details about each person, and a tab for families, where the info common to each family is held. On the families tab, I also have a “link to individuals” column, where the base automatically lists the names of all the individuals in the household. Using that list the base then calculates, still in the families tab, information like how many individuals are in a household, how many of those individuals are children, etc. As we are updating our database we have found that some individuals have left the household. I would ideally like to keep their information on record, rather than deleting them. So I have created a “active/inactive” single select column for each person, under the individuals tab. The question is, how can I configure my linked column on the families tab, such that it only picks up active individuals in each family? I hope that makes sense. I can pos
Can I create one form and have the answers go to multiple tables. For example can the address go to my Contact table, the answers to college/graduation questions go to my Education table, and favorite flavor ice cream (for example) go to my Success Stories table?
I know I can provide attachments for download when creating a Form, but is there a way for the user to submit an attachment to me when filling out the form?
Currently we have a tasks table with Currently Pending Tasks view and a view for Previously Completed tasks. These tasks are linked under a record in another table, but we only need the Currently Pending tasks to appear in the linked column. After the tasks are flipped to Completed, they are removed from the Currently Pending view and pop up in the Previously Completed View. Does anyone know how to get these tasks to auto remove after they’ve been removed from the Currently Pending view?
I’m constantly having to make quotes/estimates for new projects for my small business. I am a freelancer so just need something easy that works. At the moment I use a spreadsheet and calculate $day rate x number of days the task will take, then repeat that for each ‘line item’. Examples of line items would be ‘research’, ‘recording voiceovers’, etc. I would love to get started with a template or something but can’t find anything that seems applicable. Can anyone help me with this? I’d really appreciate it. Thanks
Super newbie question, but hoping someone can help! I have a table with about 15 fields. I would like two of these fields (full name and email) to be synced to a DIFFERENT table, so I can easily export to CSV these two fields ONLY for email newsletters. What is the easiest way to do this? Thank you!!
Hi, I’ve created a table that has a unique number for each Worker at each Site Visit working for each company. The unique number looks like this Wxxxx-SVxxx-Orgxxx. I then have a formula field that removes the Worker ID and leaves SVxxx-Orgxxx. I need to copy from that SV-Org field only the unique SV-Org numbers. I was trying to figure out a way to compare values across records, but I’m at wits end. Any ideas? Could I do this via script? Table A Table B
Hello, I’m looking to use autonumbering, but add the last 2 digits of the year based on date created. I’m currently using this to manually add “20-” to the beginning of each number. I’d like to automate it so it grabs the date created info. CONCATENATE(“20-”, REPT( ‘0’, 4-LEN( {autonumber}&’’ ) )& {autonumber}) I have a field called “Date job created”. How do I grab the info from that and plug it into the above formula? Thanks! Karen
Hi all, I’ve been using Airtable as an employee for the last few months but only recently have started building some tables on my own, and I’m running into a hurdle that I think either has an incredibly simple answer or just requires a different approach. After going through forums for hours, I figured posting might be the quickest way to find a solution. This will be a musician related database, and I have two tables - ‘Owners/Writers’ to keep records of artists: And ‘Songs’ to house the information for each song they might be a part of: As you can see, each song may have multiple writers. I want to create a column in the ‘Owners/Writers’ table that shows every song that each writer may be a part of; for instance, Ben Allen is a writer on both of the example songs, Song 1 and Song 2, and I’d like those records to be displayed in the ‘Owners/Writers’ table. The problem is when I create a linked record in the ‘Owners/Writers’ table to the ‘Songs’ table, it doesn’t automatically popula
Hi all, I’m running few food courts in parallel in our company. Each is in a different location. I want to create a process that will help me do the following: Create a menu for each day of the week (maybe even more than 1 menu per day as we have few meals) including the amount available for each item in the menu Allow users to order 1 item from the menu (per day, per meal) Allow the kitchen manager to review the orders Allow the kitchen worker to mark orders as delivered Later I would want to create some dashboard stats & inventory management. I would be happy to understand if there is a template that works best for me or how do I build this? Thanks, Shay
I have a base which relates artists and exhibitions. When I want to see all the exhibitions (over 50) in which an artist participated, I want to see them in chronological order. In the same way, when I want to see all the artists (more than 50) who participated in an exhibition, I want to see them in alphabetical order. For the time being, I can only see them in the order in which I entered the various records. Where can I learn more about this?
Thanks in advance for the help . I am new to Airtables have been using Zoho creator for years. What I want should be simple I just need some pointers and example would be really great . Basically I will have a list of task . The list will get longer each day .Each time I invite a collaborator or person to the list they will have the same steps to complete as the others… I was planning on using link for each person instead of sending invite . When a collaborator or person completes a task it is removed from their view , sorted to bottom whatever. I only want each person to see the task they have left not everyone elses task. Currently I have 450 people to give this task list
Hi All! I’m currently importing records in the morning, and would like to set up an automation to mark each one for deletion 18 hours later. Two questions: Is it possible to delete the records automatically (using automations), just inside of Airtable? If no, I can use Integromat to do the deletion. However, how would I mark each record for deletion once it’s entered into the base? Thanks in advance for helping out this Airtable noob!
Hi All. I’m so beyond frustrated with this, I think this is my last resort before leaving Airtable - a website I adore- when it works. I can’t find help on this anywhere. In the Social Media Planning + Design base, there are two Platforms or groups: Facebook and Instagram. I would like to SIMPLY ADD other social media platforms but I can’t for the life of me figure out how. I’m just trying to copy the bleeping things. Copy! I can’t copy them. I’ve spent way too much time doing this. Does anyone on Earth know how? Many thanks in advance. Yours Frazzled, Katie
I’ve seen Airtable databases that have a little picture/ icon next to the name label for their table. How can I do this myself? Thanks!
Why won’t A URL field with complete accurate Airtable Support Article address operate as expected? “Cannot find” message pops up. Same URL on Excel sheet works fine… What gives? Ronald Hufham
Why would one of my tables not have the ability to move/reorder records? There are no drag handles on the left side of the records.
Hello, With a large base with a lot of fields I’m trying to set-up a solution for: ---> 1) consulting my data not with a grid but with a kind of form Any Idea for adding a control to go through the records ? ---> 2) as well with the same kind of view I would like to add or to update some data / records. Any idea to build that kind of form view ? Many Thanks for your help, Best, Ben.
I need to allow visitors to a website to share a podcast track in an audio library which I have created in Airtable, to Facebook or Twitter. The track is a record in the table in the base.
I am looking for suggestions on how to compute the cost of an assembly configured by a customer through a form. I think I want to create a junction table based on the form responses but have not found a way to do this. Linked records seem to be only selectable through manual entry and initial exploration using Zapier indicates that it will only create a single row/record and not enter all the line items of the assembly. I am new to Zapier and have not played with multi-step Zaps yet, but our assemblies are typically 50+ items, so if each line item required a step, that doesn’t seem very efficient - and potentially also cannot create a linked value. Here is a simplified version of the form that the customer would fill out: https://airtable.com/shrozrqaixJldxVK4 Here is the Form Data table with some example data filled in: Here is the Items table: Here is the Assemblies table that I have created manually and would like to create automatically based on new form data: I would ideally
I am new to Airtable but have spent time using Access, etc. I am creating a Project Tracker that identified Tasks per Project. I then want to capture the costs associated with some of the Tasks. Example… Project: Renovate Entryway Task(s): Remove Existing Flooring Install New LVP Flooring Underlayment 500 Square Feet $0.45/Square Foot $225.00 Luxury Vinyl Plank ABC 500 Square Feet $1.65/Square Foot $825.00 Paint Area I have created the Project Tracker Base, Project Table, Task Table and Materials Table. I can expand the the Project to see the Tasks. I can also expand the Task to see the Materials. How do I setup the views to see the information as I have illustrated above? Thanks
