Base Design

I would like to have one column where its listed projects with different types, examples…roofing, solar, construction but on that tab I would like to list the ones that apply to that specific account. In having multiple selections I would like them to be individually linked to different tabs that I have created for each project. It only allows me to link one thing per column? I can’t have multiples tags in one category to open different links?

Is there a way for employees to record their hours for a particular project/job through a link or webpage?

I’m trying to build out a base that helps me understand the cost of owning a car taking into account loans, gas, depreciation, and so on. Does anyone have any leads on how I might start?

Hi everyone - maybe this is simple and I am just not getting it, but I could use a little advice. Table 1 - has name/email address/other data related to user engagement in a learning platform Table 2 - Workday pull that shows their business unit, ID, location, etc What I am looking to do is take data from Table 2 and link it to a user in Table 1 so it shows their engagement with the platform as well as their business unit information so I can then filter and look at which business unit is the most engaged. Both tables have an email field, so I figured that would be the easiest to match, but for the life of me I cannot get it to match up. Can AirTable auto-match across sheets and load up the data, or do I have to pull the record manually by doing a Link on the email field, typing in each persons email address, and a lookup on the other fields? I am trying to figure out how to add an opening page/view for one of my bases that gives people quick instructions on how to use it. I saw the feature on the Black Lives Matter resources Base (which was amazing by the way). Hope to use it myself. Thanks for the help (in advance). Doc

Hey all, new to AirTable! So, I’ve setup a table which uses an Autonumber field in conjunction with formulas in two other fields to create an ID which will increment a base number (say, 10000 in this case) by the row number so whenever I create a new row, these two fields values will go 10001, 10002, etc… So, it’s all working great, but when I delete the test rows, the autonumber doesn’t reset back to 1. I had to delete the field and re-create it to make it work - is there a better way?

Hi everyone, Hope you’re having brilliant weeks. I’m trying to make a step challenge that I’ll be running for free. I’ve been able to split the results into teams but I’d like to create a league table based upon averages throughout the six weeks. I know how to do this in Excel but I can’t work out how to do it in Airtable. Does anyone have any ideas? This particular base is on a free account so don’t have access to any blocks. I just discovered the Airtable Download Windows, which we can download Airtame as a Windows App What is the Benefits? will it work faster? Or anything else?

Good Morning Community! I feel that somewhere in the Airtable world there is a solution to this problem, but I cannot for the life of me find it. I need to be able to enter a new client, and have a set of recurring tasks (things we have to do with each client) automatically generate in what I’m assuming will be separate linked table. For example: I enter Joe Smith as a new record. Airtable automatically (through formulas, linked records, linked tables, etc.) creates a record for Joe Smith - Schedule Installation, Joe Smith - Create Template, Joe Smith - Print Template, etc. I really need to be able to at least CHECK OFF each of these items separately, if not actually schedule them (more advanced I know). Does anyone understand at least what I’m trying to do? ANY help is much appreciated. …

I am trying to figure out a way to star/highlight/flag certain rows in the Airtable so they stand out from the rest. I want to be able to show its importance as my company goes through the site together and we want to jump to the important topics. Any idea of how we can do this??? We have the free version so let me know any ideas you may have!

As I understand Airtable a field is equal to columns and the rows are equal to records. So, from that perspective here is my situation and question. I have created an Airtable to help my daughter keep track of her classes from multiple schools and programs as she works toward her nursing degree. So, we will be using and updating it for the next few years. Each class is its own record (or row). Once a class is complete, I would love to be able to lock that row so we don’t accidentally change something. I’m thinking linked information would be updated unless those linked items were locked. I would like to secure the choices/changes we have made to each record after the class is complete since we can’t change those class results in the past. If using Kanban, it would be nice that the classes that are marked complete they would be locked to the completed semester. So, I think my question is, “Can I lock individual records?”

Hi I have a calendar with schedule activities (English, spanish) which are repeated on tuesdays and fridays This activities are repeated but they are in different hours (fridays 11 00 and tuesdays 16 00) How would you do to add it to the calendar? Thanks in advance

I have 3 tables in my database. Table 1 EVENTS. Table 2 SOURCES. Table 3 RESEARCH. Tables 1 and 2 are linked by the source number in Table 2. If I link the source number to findings on Table 3, will I cause a problem? I am clearly a newbie and appreciate any support. Thank you.

Hi, I have a table of records of students’ test scores. Each time a student takes a test, a new record is created. So, John may have taken 15 tests but Mary may have taken 16. I have not figured out how I can keep a running total of tests taken. I would be grateful if anyone can suggest a way to do this. Thank you:)

Hi! I have a DB for my mouse colony. Each entry has the mouse tag, room location (there are 2 rooms) and cage location within each room. Each cage can host up to 5 mice. However, cage location overlap and need the room number to be identified. I am trying to link/lookup the main table to another table in which each record represents a cage location and has the following fields: -cage location -number of mice in room 1 -list of tags of mice in room 1 -number of mice in room 2 -list of tags of mice in room 2 I started by linking the cage location but when I add a field to lookup back from the main table to list the tags filtered by room location, I get no results… Any advice? Hi, I am still an Airtable newbie. We are trying to set up a database of families receiving food from our NGO. I have one table set up for the families (with information like their address, intake records, etc), and one for the records of each individual (with information like birthdate, school reports, gender, etc). I have managed to get column showing the number of individuals in each family (on the family table) and one showing which individuals are children (on the individuals table). Is there a way to get a column on the family table that gives the number of children (under 18s) in each family? (something like a combination of a count and formula field).

Is it possible to do a conditional rollup where it looks for just records this month rather than in the last 30 days? Or do I have to set up the formula with after July 1 and before July 31?

I just made a table that I likely won’t need until next year at tax time. Can I hide it until then so it doesn’t get to confusing?

I am new here. I want to use a zapier intergration that stores info from web page form, using a web hook, into a database here. One filed will be a number between 1 - 5. One represents one star whee five represents five stars. Next, I want to pull the data from this database and display it on a web page but have the numbers 1-5 appear as stars. My question is it possible to make the stars appear using a database here. Anyone know of articles to read or a template? Thanks in advance!

I have a base with three tables. Each table is a log of different types of incidents that occur at our company. All tables are indexed using the date time the incident occurred, and also includes other accompanying data like staff involved, etc. The accompanying data for the three different incident types is different, otherwise I would put them in a single table. What I would like to do is generate a chart that shows how many of each incident occurred each month. I have found out how to generate this chart for one of the incident types using a block, but the block only allows me to pull data from a single table. I’ve tried creating a fourth table to capture all of the summarized data and then build a chart block there, but I’m stuck trying to find the most efficient way to link all of the data. If I create year and month columns in my summary table, is there a way to automatically link to all of the records in other tables with matching year and month, or is linking i
