It’d be fantastic to duplicate a URL column and then be able to set it to Bit.ly, or whatever. ESPECIALLY, if it tapped into Dropbox’s API to create http://db.tt links.

now that parsing url’s is easy with airtable how to make them shorter. would be nice to have a tinyurl.com api integration so you could automatically shorten long parsed urls. especially as they display only full length in the mobile app.

What is the proposed idea/solution?Our interfaces are growing ever more complex, longer and more difficult to handle.Two things that would make life much easier:Being able to create sections (visual containers) that can be collappsed and unfolded.Conditional visibility of these sections and individual fields (like in forms)How does is solve the user problems?This would help us to only show the fields and sections needed for specific cases or situations based on conditions that we can define, similar to conditional fields in forms.

I often scroll through the list of 'What should each record be called?' and am left a little flummoxed by the inability to select a custom 'name' for records. For instance, 'Template' doesn't exist, though I often have a table dedicated to Templates. 'Prompt' is another one, which I often use to store AI prompts.I imagine it's a bit of a slog putting together that massive list of potential record naming conventions, so if possible, could you let us create our own record 'names' for records in a table?As an extension, could we have variable record names which are defined by a single select field? This one's a bit more unlikely for you guys to implement, but I often reuse tables that have the same structure for multiple types of records (ie. Quotes and Invoices, or Time Blocks and Shifts). Anyways thanks so much 🙏

What is the proposed idea/solution?The Duration field now supports days in addition to hours and minutes. However, the formatting options for the Formula field, when the output is formatted as a date, do not accommodate this change. As a result, I cannot use DATETIME_DIFF() to calculate a duration of many days without resorting to the same steps required before the Duration field supported days.How does it solve the user problems?By allowing the Duration field to support days, users can more easily track and calculate longer periods of time directly within the field. What is the proposed idea/solution?We currently have an interface in Airtable for our inventory management base using the Record Review type interface. It would be really nice to have an indicator of the number of pending records next to the page name. We have multiple pages in the interface of the Record Review type, some include: Orders Out, Shipment In, Returns from Customers, Returns to Suppliers.How does is solve the user problems?The main advantage this would have is to provide an overview of how many orders, product receivals or returns are pending, so that the users don't have to go through each interface page to check if records are pending processing. It's a small feature request but would be very helpful to anybody involved in managing inventory and orders.

I notice the way that Slack notifications are formatted changes, based on the order in which data is entered into Airtable. I’d like my slack notifications to have a consistent format. Can you please implement two changes to the Slack notifications options: Add an optional delay (say 15 minutes) - to ensure all data has been entered before the notification is fired Allow the fields in the notification to be selected and ordered by the user

Hi! When I share a calendar view (fed by 5 fields) via a private link, the result on the suscription ONLY displays the FIRST date filed… Is this a bug or am I missing something here? How can I share this view showing ALL the fields used? Thanks!

Seems that almost all of my fields in almost all of my tables have more text in the column titles then they do in the records.

We should ideally be given the choice to have a second link field populated when using links to records in same table. For instance I would need a children field to be automatically populated when parents are added (and vice-versa). All workarounds suggested by support team (via automations or via a secondary relationship table) have limitations.

What is the proposed idea/solution?Delete View should have a "do you really want to do this" warning, and/or ability to recover when deleted. How does is solve the user problems?Would have prevented user from accidentally deleting a view when they meant to select Print View, or would have enabled them to recover the view when it was deleted accidentally. How was this validated?I tested delete view recovery, including CTRL-Z, and Airtable reports nothing to Undo. Who is the target audience?Und Users

To whom it may concern,It would be useful to have an Expand All and Collapse All navigation for List Views.This would be helpful as a visualization tool, especially when List View is used for Project Schedule and is standard functionality with other Project Schedule tools. Regards,Jason Knighten

This would enable ability to highlight/bring attention to specific comments in long text fields. This should be functional in both Data and Interface layers. 

What is the proposed idea/solution?Make the date the attatchment file was uploaded visible....How does is solve the user problems?When you have more than one attatchment you can easily see which is the most recent one...How was this validated?...Who is the target audience?Everyone using attatchments?

Currently, when creating a table, users are prompted with the "What should each record be called?" dropdown menu.  There are many options available but not one for every use case out there.  It would be nice if when the user selected "other" they got a chance to type in exactly what they want the records in the base to be called or if Airtable got rid of the drop down altogether and made it a freetext field by default.  

What is the proposed idea/solution?Display a character counter over the limit assigned to a question in a form.How does it solve the user problems?Whoever is filling the form can know there is a character limit before they start typing their answer and this helps them manage their content better. Also, they will be able to adjust their answer without leaving the page to use a character counter in some other tool. (like Google Docs)How was this validated?An external contact called us for help resolving the error message they were receiving about exceeding the character count in a form we created, so we asked them to type their answers in a Google Docs file and guided them on how to access the character count there. They couldn't complete the form without the use of an external character counter.Who is the target audience?Anyone, whether internal or external, who will need to fill out a form designed and shared by Airtable users.

A have a complex base, running many automation and connection with external sources. In case of huge mistake, I would like to restore a snapshot and overwriting the current base in order to keep working all my automations fine.In Airtable, copies are currently restored on a new base. In the case of people like me, who run a lot of automations and work with the rest API, it is not a very useful alternative.
