Help! I have an automation set up that when a new record is created in one table, to create a list of ‘to-do’ items in another table. Both tasks are related by their matching ID’s. (It’s a monster of an automation, so I had to shrink it to fit! lol) The problem is that when a new record appears in the 1st table it ‘fires’ the automation, right? But most of the time it is ‘firing’ so fast that it misses the ID number in the 2nd table and JUST lists all of the ‘tasks’. What am I doing wrong here??? Thanks, DG

Hello all! I am working on a project where I am inputting data that we collect into one table based around different areas we collect from and how many days it took to collect data. In the other table, I have been manually updating the rate of collection. It is structured by: Column 1 - Date Data Collected (with some repeat dates as multiple collections happen in a single day sometimes), Column 2 - Single Selection Dropdown of the Area Collected From, and then another Column - Data Points Collected. With these columns, is it possible to update data in another table that has a list of all the offices in one column and their estimated rate of collection in another column based on new data input into the first table. I hope this makes sense and thank you for your help!

Hello Airtable community, I´m having a difficulty for finding how many times a specific category (that is in a multi-select field) appears in a table where I´m tracking specific “needs” mentioned in 1:1 interviews. How can I do? Part B of the question (once the other part is solved) One more thing. In the report I may have the same person more than one time and I don´t want to double count the needs, what do you recommend me to do for this?

I need an automation that, when there is a new record received in one table, to check a box with the matching ID in another table. THE BREAKDOWN: I have a (unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” in table1 that, when the balance = $0, sends out a “Cust Survey”. The ‘Survey’ is identified by the same (unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” number. WORKING PERFECTLY! I then have the “Survey Results” table, or table2. When a new set of ‘Survey Results’ are received in table2, we need to locate and match the “(unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” number in table1 and check the “Survey Received” checkbox in that table. All the sudden I can’t think of a flow for the automation!?! I do know that I can’t LINK the tables because there is nothing in table2 to link to… right? PLEASE HELP ME!!! DG :heart:

My base is used by salespeople to provide quotes for flights. Sometimes the same trip request is sent to multiple people on my team. I want to eliminate duplicate quotes. I need a way to notify a salesperson when 5 different fields are the same as a different record in the base. Any ideas? I would like to put this in a field so it can easily become an alert

I have deleted a base. Is there any way to restore it? If you have a solution, let me know how to do please. Thank you guys.

Hi, is there a way to see the last changes that were made to a task in Airtable? I’m looking for a way to keep track of changes developers are doing for tasks in the project scope during the day/week, currently, I can only see the last status of a task and the last updated by and last updated time or open tasks one by one but its too detailed. I already configured Slack notifications but it’s hard to track the changes per project/filter by user etc.

Hi, I’m wondering if there is any way to create a form view in such a way that submissions can be made (by anyone with the link), but so that the record wouldn’t go live in another shared view until each entry was approved by a Moderator (i.e. me!)? I can’t think of a simple way to implement this function, but wondering if anyone else has tried this approach and found a work around?

Hi Everyone, First time posting a question here :slightly_smiling_face: I have a grid with different jobs, and I’d like to create a form for people to apply to the jobs posted. I’d like to enable people who submit the form to choose a job title and company from a dropdown. I’d also like the enable them to upload their CV and cover letter, but without it affecting the fields in the grid (I don’t want the grid to include the files). Once submitted I’d like an automated email to be sent to the employers with all the details of the applicant (I’ll have the relevant email for each company in the grid, so I’ll have to pull this data in the automation). How would you approach this? Thanks! Arik

Once you have setup your settings in the Dedupe app, is there a way to just have it apply the same pattern to ALL the rest of the duplicates? If you have hundreds of duplicates, it’s imposible to do this one by one.

Pour la mise en forme, lorsqu’on sélectionne un champ pour modifier sa taille par exemple, c’est la valeur de la précédente sélection qui reste affichée. Je ne sais pas si je suis très clair, pas facile à expliquer : je sélectionne un champ qui est en “taille 13” pour le modifier en “taille 16” lors de la sélection du champ suivant pour effectuer la même opération, le champ s’affiche en “taille 16” alors qu’il est toujours en “taille 13” et c’est vraiment pénible… déjà que Page Designer n’est pas très ergonomic ça le rend carrément ingérable. Hello all, I am trying to track hours on equipment in my base and seem be having an issue getting the result I would like due to my lack of knowledge in formulas. I am going to break this down into sections. Where I get my data, I have integrated my Jotform with my base for inspection sheets on heavy equipment and have it assigned to fill a table called Inspections. everything in this section works perfect and i collect all the data from the forms. What I am trying to do. One of the columns I am trying to track is the Engine hours column which is located in the Inspection table. each piece of equipment in the inspection table can have multiple inspections a day. I am trying to track it in another table called Equipment Log which each piece of equipment is automated to link to its inspection record. I have tried using Rollup to Sum the total Engine Hours the unit has been inspected to have. the problem I am facing is the inspector only has to put the hours that are displayed on the mach

Does anyone have any advice for how to create a filtered view of data I have that only keeps the oldest date of a “group” of records? I have a table where a product iD can show up multiple times but have different data for it depending on another unique field (a batch of the product). But, I need to have a view that only keeps the oldest batch. I have a date field attached to each batch. Any ideas?

I have designed a simple table for the dismissal in our school. On one tab I have “Today dismissal” On the second tab I have 25 inputs : each line has a homeroom name and an image attached to the homeroom. The second tab is also attached to the first one. I have then from tab one created a form where we can select the homeroom with a drop down menu. I have also a view that shows ONLY the new entries based on a simple criteria: the date (today). I am then sharing this view so the security guard a the school gate can see from his iPad set up to refresh every 5 seconds the homerooms ready for dismissal and call the parents in. What i would like to do: If i sleeve homeroom x today, homeroom x is not available anymore from the drop down menu just for today. So i can see in my drop down when all the 25 classes have already been selected. The following day, because it’s day+1, all the 25 homerooms are still available in the drop down menu. How can I do this?

I have a multiple choice single select question and each answer is a couple of sentences long so the end words are cut off. Is there any way to extend the character limits for options? If not, is there a suggested workaround so I can allow my clients to read the full description of the option? Thanks!

Good day everyone! I have data in a table that I want to download to Excel. I’m stumped on whether or not I can arrange it vertically (think excel pivot table outline form) upon downloading it. I would love for the downloaded presentation to be easy to read and I don’t know if that’s possible with Airtable. Any advice or recommendations? Thanks a bunch!

Hi there! I’ve set up the following formula in an effort to show either the data that is entered into the ‘Invoice Contact Overwrite’ field, or if that is blank, then to show whatever is in the ‘Company’ field. IF({Invoice Contact Overwrite}!=BLANK(),{Invoice Contact Overwrite},Company) This formula has been applied to a field called ‘Invoice Contact’, that’s where I want the result to show. In this case, the formula is only showing data that has been entered into the ‘Invoice Contact Overwrite’ field and for anything that doesn’t have any data, it is showing as blank, rather than adding the Company name. Am I missing something? We use a variation of this formula to create a ‘Final Fee’ by showing whatever is in our ‘OS Fee’ field, but if our ‘Fee Overwrite’ field has data entered, then the ‘Final Fee’ is updated to whatever is reflected in the ‘Fee Overwrite’ field. Hello, I’m new at scripting and have, I think, a basic question if someone can please help me. I want automate the creation of pre-filled fields with the script app. I’ve been able to run that successfully for basic ‘text strings’. But now I’m trying to add data to a field that is formatted with ‘duration format’ and I haven’t been able to make it work. Hi, I have created a table with fields as Name, Phone Number, Address, etc. And have added data into it. The requirement is I want to create an generic edit form for this table to update the data in it, In this Edit form I’ll be having a text box that takes in Phone number as input and as soon as I enter Phone number .Using the Phone number I added it has to query through the table and find the record having same phone number and fill the edit form with the data of the record that was found. Ex: Now here as soon as I enter phone number, the fields Name and address should fill with the record data that was found with the phone number entered. Is there any way to do this?

I want to change a date field to a create date in a base that already has records in the base. When I do that, all the dates in that field get converted to today’s date. Is there a workaround to have today’s date added to a field when a new record is created without modifying the existing dates in the field?

Hi there, I have given “comment” access to a base to a number of people and pay for that a few hundred euro a month (the base is on a Plus plan). My impression is that most commentators are inactive - meaning I am spending money for nothing. Where can I see that date of last activity per collaborator? Thank you Ursula

Hi Everyone. I am a teacher and just started using Airtable to create a music curriculum for my students and then want to use the forms view to track student grades and assessment. I have created all my tables and finally created a form view for my assessment grading. When I go to select the assessment I am going to be giving (“Level 1 - Bronze”) I want to be able to see more information about that particular assessment. For example, I want it to also include what book its in as well as the page number and exercise number (all information I have in listed in the table - I can see it when creating the form but then I add lookup fields on the form and they say that they are read only and don’t show up on the form). Basically, I want to be able to select the assessment but see more identifiable info on that assessment when I select it to make sure I a selecting the right one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
