Current situation is as follows: user signs up through a (Airtable) form on our website and enters a table and gets a record ID. In the onboarding process that follows we would like to allow our users to change/add data to their specific records in our tables. Can anyone please help us figuring out how we can automate this process? Currently we have to manually add the asked information in the right table. Thank you!

I am trying to create a survey. And the survey has 4 options for each question A B C D. For A its 1, B is 2, C is 3, and D is 4. Each is summed for a total across all the fields in a record giving a total for each record. What I want to do now is count the number of As, Bs, Cs and Ds across the record and I can’t seem to do that ;-( Should be something like sum if Field 1 = 1 and Filed 2 = 1 and Field 3 =1 … And then another with Sum if Field 1 = 2 and Filed 2 = 2 and Field 3 =2 … And so on for each record so I get the total number of A, B, C and D. But I cant seem to do that does anyone have any idea how I can do this? Thanks in advance

Hello, i want to see only those strings which have collaborator’s comments in “Activity”. Another option is to restrict adding comments to “Activity” for collaborators. Is it possible to do using an airtable functional or any of apps?

Hey Everyone: I have a table that houses 260 records. Each record represents 1 Song. I have a rollup in that table that has every date I have practiced that song in my set lists. Set lists are individual records that track each show and adds the song in the position played. I want to take that list of songs and the date rollups and create a new table that has all the songs listed one by one by date played. I know moving forward I can do this by automation as the records are created, but how do I do it for everything in the past?

I have some PDF files in an Attachment field. I need to generate URL links to the airtable preview of these attachments. I know it can be done (the URL links appear with as dl(dot)airtable(dot)com/.attachments/). How do I generate these URL’s

I would like to have a gantt on the report I run using Page designer. At the moment I am taking a screenshot of a gantt view and uploading the image as an attachment. Is there a better way? This seems unnecessarily cumbersome.

When I export values from a table I get three weird characters at the start of only the first line which contains the field names. My first line looks like this Member,Forename,Middle Names,Surname,DOB,Address 1,Address 2,Town,County,Postcode,Home Phone,Mobile Phone,ICE Contact,ICE Number,Email Address,Occupation,Qualifications,Interests,Disabilities Is this a bug?

I’ve been sharing my form for a while with no trouble, but after making a small change today it won’t share anymore. Generating a link, previewing or pressing “Open Form” all lead to a blank browser tab. Any tips would be very appreciated :slightly_smiling_face:

Does any know if Airtable tracks failed Logins by a user and locks their account if a maximum number is reached? And do they lock the account and sent any type of email or notification to the user for them to know that someone might be trying to access their account. I am trying to understand what happens if someone tries to access our companies data if they figure out one of our users email address. Thank you

I have a small farm and use Airtable to track the animals. I have a table for their basic info (name, dob, etc), one for weights (used every time we weight them), one for any treatment(s) they get, and one to track breedings. I’d like to be able to have a view where I can pull up an animal by name, then see all the other associated records regarding it from the other tables. If I pull up animal “Bob,” I’d like to then see his weights and treatments in the same view (by most recent). I’ve tried searching these forums and the web to see if it’s possible, but have come up empty. This view would normally be used from a mobile device.

AirTable on my iPhone 8 lags a ton. My coworker shares the same bases, but his app opens and loads normally on his iPhone XR. I have tried reinstalling the mobile app, but I have not resolved this issue for a month.

I’m hoping someone might be able to help me understand if Airtable can be used effectively for file storage and organization instead of Dropbox. The reason for using Airtable is because I want to be able to tag, filter, link and otherwise organize files in a way that I believe can’t be done with Dropbox. My specific use is real estate data, so for example, I’d like to be able to organize PDF files (e.g., market reports), each of which would have its own record/row by different variables that can be dictated by the field/column (e.g., City or State) and also link those files to other records (e.g., a contact or a property related to the record). It doesn’t seem like this is an intended use with Airtable, particularly given the 20GB limit for a Pro user, but Dropbox (which I currently use) and its competitors don’t seem to offer the same dynamic ability to organize files, so I’m hoping to figure this out with Airtable (or find out the best alternative).

Hi all, I’m using Zapier to send survey responses from Alchemer to Airtable. To help with filtering in Airtable, I match each survey question type to the corresponding field/column type in Airtable; so a likert scale (or other radio button question) is mapped to a single-select field, a checkbox question is mapped to a multi-select field/column, and open-text questions are mapped to single/long text field/column types. My survey makes heavy use of ‘Other - write in’ fields, especially in the context of multi-select (checkbox) questions. Commas are often included in these write-in fields, either by survey respondents or by Alchemer in how it formats data. However, either Airtable or Zapier (I’m not sure how to tell which) appears to be seeing the commas and using them to break apart individual responses into smaller pieces that then get entered into Airtable incorrectly. I’ve created a line chart with records group by year, but the output is showing extra X-axis values that don’t exist. For example, my data has years 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, but the x axis of the chart is adding interim values of 2017.5 between 2017 and 2018, 2018.5 between 2018 and 2019, etc. How can I suppress this output? It looks very unprofessional.

When using two numerical fields to generate a scatter plot, the y-axis label does not appear unless “Aggregate” is selected. This means that in order to show the label, you have to select “Group by…” and choose a unique field (because you don’t want things to be grouped) and then select Aggregate, which results in the y-axis label being prepended with an aggregation method (Sum, Min, Max, or Mean), which is not an accurate portrayal of the data that is being charted. The label should simply show up without any aggregation and just contain the name of the field.

Hi, Here is what I would like to do: I have one table (T1) where when I fill a certain field which is linked to another table (T2), I would like it to make a one time copy of certain fields to T1. So I would think that it would somehow have to look up in T2 which record I am referring to and choose the fields accordingly. Thank you in advanced for your input.

In the “What’s New” section of the AirTable support site, the ability to add Salesforce as an external source is listed. When I go to add that however, it isn’t visible. Anyone else failing to see Salesforce as an option for external sync? If it’s coming down the pipeline, was there an ETA given?

Hello. I need to do the following: if I have two columns that I display with and link to a new table. When I choose a record from the column 1, I would like to be able to choose from the column 2 the ones that correspond to it according to the previous selection. For example, if I choose in the “Area” column, “Industrial Activity”, from the Topic column I choose only the three that correspond to it. As shown in the picture Than you!

Hi all, (just learning Airtable) I’m creating a submission form for a client and we’re expecting a large amount of submissions (1,000+). At some point we are planning on narrowing down the options and presenting those selects to the client… as of now I have a “Status” column where we can tag that record with a specific color and filter it afterwards where they only see the reds or the yellows. I was planning on having a link sent to the client where they’d see the back end (the chart, form, and gallery), but ideally I’d prefer to have a separate space, for the lack of a better word, where the client can only see those selects and not turn off the filter and see the other 700+ options. Any advice on how to make that happen? Just trying to figure out an efficient way to show the client the records/submissions that we culled down. Thanks!

I have embedded a view into a web page in “card” format, and I’m hoping there is a way to edit the card. It will only show 4 columns in each card - I’d love to show more. Also, my first field is “long text” - I’d love to be able to show more of that long text. Possible? Thanks!
