I desire to reorder attachments from different table. Let’s assume We have .inc table like company A,B.etc. Besides, We also have financial statements table like A’s F/S 2021, A’s F/S 2020 A’s F/S 2019. etc. When I apply lookup, ideally attachments should keep their order following year. However, the attachments become messy like A’s F/S 2020, A’s F/S 2021, A’s F/S 2019. In that case, how can reorder it?
Newbee to automations here and would like to hear if I’m doing this right because it feels wrong :slightly_smiling_face: I added a couple of automations which change a status field based on conditions. So as “Action” I select “Update record”, select the table and record ID from the trigger. But then when I add the fields to be changed and I select the “Status” field (which is a Single Select field type), I just get an free type text field instead of a dropdown with the labels/options from that Status field. This seems to work fine as long as I type in the exact words/phrase used for the single select options, but if somewhere in the future someone changes the dropdown labels/options, this will then immediately break the automation without any kind of warning. (well it wouldn’t “break” the automation in the sense that it would still run, but the automation would just keep using the old label which could cause all kinds of unintended things). So… Is this indeed the way to create these
I have a table of tasks. Each task has a due date in a date field. I want to create a new formula field that looks at the due date and spits out: Upcoming Due Today Past Due Extra credit if the formula can spit out “Due Soon” when a task is 2 days away. How do I make this happen?
Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to tackle the issue when a end user clicks on “Download CSV”, I would like to lock/ block the user from downloading the attachments type column as the CSV file captures URL links of all the attachments from the table. Thanks!
Does anybody know why the plus shaped “Add New Record” button, only sometimes shows on a table? On some tables it is there: And on some pretty identical tables it is not: I thought it might be to do with sorting, grouping, table permission, width of table. But they all seem to vary leaving me feeling like it’s totally random. Does anyone know the anwser to this mystery? Thanks Matt
I feel like I must be missing something very simple, but I have a grid view with an Email Address column, and it is sorted by that column and only that column. For the most part it looks fine, but Email Address ‘psmith82…’ is sorting ahead of ‘psmith11…’. Anyone else noticed anything like this, or have any suggestions? Thanks!
We have an order management system that provides drivers their order delivery information in custom views. We have around 20,000 records in the Base now and unfortunately multiple drivers simply get a blank screen when they select their views. We’ve cut down the data set already and need to find a way to either get the app to work or to export views to something more reliable. Drivers are using their own iOS or Android devices. I don’t have the specs for each so I’m really hoping a “mobile” solution can work across multiple devices. Right now, not so much.
Hi all, I’m trying to use an automation to send a weekly summary of items that have deadlines in the next two weeks. I have a Trigger and a Record Lookup working beautifully, but the only option I have to choose a list of records formats them as an HTML list. This works OK for an email, but doesn’t work for a Slack message. Is there any option to reformat the list of records in a Markdown table, rather than HTML?
Hi, I’m wondering if the following would be possible with Airtable without creating an additional app to handle permissions. I’m needing to have one primary database that I can filter by a column like Name, then share that filtered view and have 2 of the fields be editable and synced to the base. As I understand it, any linked view is not editable; however, I could do a synced view and add 2 columns to the new table, but it wouldn’t update anything in the original base. Thanks, Keith
Hi all- I’m attempting to use airtable to create a schedule for a summer academic program. I really need a field for start time and end time of the class/workshop. I don’t mind having a separate field for each, but I’d like to be able to group by date and sort by time to get a daily schedule. I can’t figure out how to do without a field that allows time without date. Am I missing something, is there a workaround that accomplishes the same thing? Thanks!
Hi everyone, I am currently trying to move data from Excel into Airtable. As users have mentioned in previous posts, when I do this, the data copies over without the link. Right now, I’m not importing and instead just copying/pasting (importing messes things up with this file) from the Excel file into Airtable. How can I retain the links? Would this involve the ‘Button’ field? (The columns will be, for example, a list of recipe names where each name links to a different recipe) Thank you!
Has anyone added an IMDBpro API key to their base? I’m copying individual IMDBpro links but would love it is it would regularly populate my database with new information. Thanks! Jessica
I have a “Start Date” field and a “# Duration (days)” field and would like a formula that calculates the “Due Date” in work days. I tried this formula from a YouTube tutorial: IF(AND({Start Date},{Duration (days)}),WORKDAY({Start Date},{Duration (days)})) But if I enter 2/15/21 (a Monday), and add a Duration of 10 days, the formula shows 2/28/21 (a Sunday) which is not a work day. Is there something missing? Thanks, Kevin
My company uses Airtable to compile lists of resources or organizations in specific metro areas. We are interested then, in understanding how long it takes our team to extract each full record (10~20 fields per record). We’re hoping to get a better picture of knowing how long extractions (filling out the entire record of 10+ fields) take, and running analysis on which specific fields or tags are associated with longer times (harder to extract?) or shorter times. The Time Tracker App is somewhat useful, however I am wondering if there is a way to see how long each cell is being edited. So basically each cell has a distinct timer/counter attached to it, and then a field that reads the total time spent working on that specific record. Any thoughts?
Hi everyone, New user to Airtable finding the Airtable instructions and self-directed, online resources too advanced to understand. Is there anyone willing to spend a few minutes on a VOIP call to answer some questions about setting up linked tables? Thanks so much … John
Hi, I’d like to create a line chart to track financial goals for the month and year. Can this be done through an AT block/app? For example, let’s say I start the month at $0 and by the end of the month my goal is to reach $5000. The chart will create a single straight line to show this “trajectory”… Then, each day I enter my income and expenses (which feeds into a field representing “balance”, the chart then shows me if I’m on track… See the image below for reference. Can this be done inside Airtable? If so, how? Thanks in advance for any help.
I couldn’t find much documentation for createRecordAsync for Scripts. I kept getting an error like "Error: Field “College” cannot accept the provided value. I passed in "College": "University of Washington", for a Linked Record Field and "Undergrad Graduation": "2021", for a Single Select, both caused errors. What are the correct ways to pass non-text variables to create records?
Hi there, I would love your help with making an IF THEN formula. I am importing my expenses from Mint. There are two columns: Amount: $ Transaction Type: Credit or Debit The amounts are all positive, and the “Credit” or “Debit” lets you know whether the number should be considered a positive or a negative number. I would like to have the following statement turned into a formula: In a new column called “True Amount” : If Transaction Type is Debit, Multiply Amount by -1 Therefore, if I spent $100 and earned $50 the numbers would look like this -$100 $50 and sum to $50 Now they look like: $100 $50 and sum to $150 which makes no sense THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Hey everyone, To manage a safe workplace in a studio, individuals receive a tracker each day to measure their interactions. The end goal is to assess anyone who has qualified as having “close contact” with another person. These trackers measure interaction events per the above image. How do I total up multiple records to provide a summary of a device and display it in a concise format? Yes, I can group by day, by unit, and then filter and sort the data, but the QTY of records I get at the end of a day is quite large, and this will end up being slow and messy. I am really after a quick 40,000’ view summarising any individual that exceeds a total duration of 15minutes of contact… Ideally, I get the totaled summary of the device and put it in a chart, but I’m struggling with getting a quick summary or rollup of the totals at this point. Open to any suggestions from all the airtable gurus out there! I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Hi Everyone! I’m looking for some help using the page designer app. I have it set up to generate 900+ reports which are linked to the main table using a button field. My report length is not consistent. Some of the reports will only be one page while others will be over 10 pages. Does anyone know of a way to set up the page length to vary as a function of the table length? Right now I have page designer set to a custom length of 10 pages but this will cause extra blank pages to be at the end of each of the shorter reports. I could manually go through and print to pdf to remove the extra pages, but with the number of reports I am generating, this would be a very time consuming process. Any ideas would be appreciated!
We are currently creating a base for potential new partnerships. Wishin the base I have 2 separate forms for Stage 1 and Stage 2. How do I link the forms so an applicants stage 2 application doesn’t create a new field but attaches to their current record? I don’t want them to see what other applicants are in the process.
I am being billed for a collaborator who I added, but whose account does not show up in the edit collaborators dialog, which instead shows the message: “This workspace also has 1 base collaborator not represented above.” So I have no way to disable, delete or otherwise lower my monthly bill, even though the collaborator account is no longer in use, or needs to be changed to a different persons. Any suggestions?
Hi all I am brand new to airtable. I watched some videos and read some. I need to hear from experts if I can use airtable for my project. Here’s what I want to do: Search from a website for a specific entry in the database I dont want the user to see any entries before he searches If the search turns up something, then the option to only view/download the data in Pdf And if its a paying member, the ability to ADD a line of history to the record. Please note, not change the current data but add some more lines to the table. If search turns up nothing, then the user must be able to create an entry(or line) in the table which can then be later updated/added history by other users. All users must have access to all the data but only be able to see what they searched for All approved users must be able to add to the history Hope you can help or point me in the right direction Thanks a mil
Hello, I would like to know how to connect Facebook Ads to Airtable. The goal is to have a table on Airtable containing updated Facebook Ads data. My priority is to have a column that lists all the expenses (spent budget) which is automatically updated on the basis of Facebook Ads data. Thank you in advance Esteban
I’ve shared a table view via the “share view” feature, and when it’s viewed on an ipad it automatically shows in a gallery view. How do I get it to view on an ipad in a grid view? Thanks!
