Hello I want to be able to send the client a grid view of a script to a client, and I want him to approve it or not, as well as put comments, but without having to enter my entire base. It is possible?

I am a newbie to AirTable. I am trying to design on Asset inventory. I have the parent equipment table, an equipment_model table, a locations table, and an asset table. All categories of the equipment share a common set of attributes (like Make, model, serial number), at the same, some other equipment has completely different sets of attributes (like frequency-range, group/Ch, assigned_frequency, etc…). I would like to track all the attributes/fields by equipment categories. What would be the best way to design the inventory? Please, see screenshots of the equipment and equipment model table

I’m using Zapier to auto-number a project number field in an Airtable base. This happens each time I enter a new project in Airtable. It all works correctly EXCEPT that when I enter several new records quickly in Airtable, the project numbers returned from Zapier are not numbered in the same order that I entered the new records. For example: I enter new records A, B, C, D in Airtable in that order. Zapier should give them project numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 Oftentimes Zapier will number them out of order, such as 3, 1, 4, 2 or some other random sequence that’s not in the same order I entered the projects. The key here is that they must be numbered in the order I entered the projects. I don’t know if it’s an Airtable issue or Zapier, but any insight you have would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings all, I have a pretty basic table that I keep my Bourbon inventory. I have a table called “bottles purchased” and another called “current inventory”. They are basically the same tables right now, as I just duplicated my original table, Bottles Purchased. In my table, I have a checkmark field that I check if it’s currently in my collection. Obviously, I can filter the checkmark on and off. But how can I add a bottle in “bottles purchased” and it gets added to my “current inventory” table upon checking the checkbox? Is there a way to definitively define the sort order when linking to an existing record on a “Link to another record” field type? Let’s say we have “Table 1 (T1)” and “Table 2 (T2)”. On T2, I’ve created a linked record to T1. I’ve created a view on T1 with the appropriate sorting order (in this case, “date modified”). On T2, I’ve selected this view on the “Limit record selection to a view” setting. When I go to associate / start entering my query and filtering records from T2, it seems the order is not predictable, and certainly, not sorted by the “date modified” as I had defined in the T1 view. Any ideas how to maintain sort order from the T1’s view?

I have a multiple choice column. Many records have a particular tag. I can filter on another field to get a subset of those records. How can I remove that particular tag from all of those records

I’ve been using the URL field to display a link in every record, I click on these all the time on multiple devices. This never worked directly on the grid view in the iOS app, I always need to open the expanded view first to get to the link. Today I just learned about the Button field, and its description gave me a lot of hope I’d be able to trigger it with one click in the app, because it straight up looks like a button on the grid view. But it still just opens the expanded view of the record. Did anyone find a workaround for this? Is it reasonable to expect that this behaviour changes eventually?

Is there a way to only show certain hours for each day rather than all 24? Most of the calendar is blank space even though we have 6 events in a day. We are using this view for a programs calendar for virtual events that are mostly in the evenings.

Trying to think about the proper/organized way to do this. I currently have a personnel log of all employees on our project (we are a construction company so combo of salaried staff and hourly craft labor). This log has name/phone/email/job title/date hired/do they have an iPad issued (link from another table)/etc/etc. What we are having trouble keeping organized is safety training. In construction we have many different trainings, many safety related, that lots of different people may or may not need. The 3 sets of data we would want to link up are: The personnel log (these are the people that need training) The training schedule (when is a particular training next scheduled for) The training log (what training occurred, who took it) Basically we would have a table of past trainings that occurred, which would link to the personnel log and everyone who was in that class would be linked to the record of that class (and the certificates/sign in sheet would be attachments to that record).

Hello, Community! I am a newbie and am trying to figure out how to use Airtable for a sports team. My goal is to track attendance per week throughout the season. I’ve grasped that I should have a master table - the roster - and pull in data from linked tables - the daily attendance. I am stumped on how to set up the days/weeks/months in some sort of calendar or a list. If I need 6 days each week for 3 months and I need to know which athletes attended which days, how do I set that up? One table per month and list the dates? One table with every date? What’s the method of crediting an athlete for any of those days? How do I then pull all attendance data per athlete? Thank you!

Hi, I’m designing a Dashboard using various configurations of the Summary and Record List apps. To simplify navigation, it’d be a huge help if we could simply click a button that takes us to that specific View associated with either the summary of the Record List. Ideally, this would be something incorporated into the Dashboard’s natural layout, beside the settings or options of each app. But I understand that’s not exactly customizable. I would be even satisfied with a separate app that I’ve manually set to take you to the View in question, and just sits beside the Record List. Does something like this currently exist that I could incorporate?

Hello! I want to sync an Airtable view to Google Calendar. The initial sync works fine but any updates thereafter do not show up in Google Calendar. Has anyone found a solution? I saw a thread on this from 2018-2019 but wondering if there is a solution by now. My client has a Squarespace website and we are looking for a solution to embed a searchable resource database on this public site. Visitors to the website would be able to filter by topic, keyword, etc. Will Airtable do this? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to set-up base for tracking some financial information. Can someone help me with how to do this (I might be missing something obvious or it may be can’t be done :D). I will try to simplify it so it’s clearer. I have two fields A & B and Status. Everything that I will explain happens in same record. I will use column B to write amount to be paid. When someone change status to Paid, I would like to input value from B into A, after which I would reset the status and “empty” field B. Then I would enter new value for B and when status is again changed to Paid, I need it to add new value of B to previous value of A (basically B=B+A). I need this process to repeat multiple times (every time someone enter new value for B and change status to Paid). I hope this is clear enough so you can understand. If something is unclear, I will try to explain it in more details.

I’ve searched and found somewhat similar solutions, but none (that I’ve found) seem to hit the head of the nail for what I am seeking to accomplish. I have a Budget table with records representing each month. One of the fields is “Projected Income”. For each cell in that field, I am seeking to show the corresponding month’s Projected Income from another Table called “Projected Income”. In the Projected Income Table, I have configured it so I have records representing the month, and currency fields representing the client monthly payment. (I have also configured it so I have records representing the client & fields representing the month - I’ll remove the records/fields I don’t need.) So, I am looking to insert the totals of the projected client payments for each specific month into the Budget table’s record cell for that month in the “projected Income” field. I also have a “Projection” formula in the “Projected Income” table that sums the values of those fields, so in effect that

Hello All, I am using the autofill feature to create re-curring items. Currently, for a calender I’m trying to create recuring items that occur every Monday. Since airtable cannot handle recurring for one line item, i’m trying to build this using the autofill feature. But, there is a small hiccup. Scenario: I have a class on Monday night from 5pm-6pm. So, I create two records. RECORD 1: Start Date field - Oct. 7th 5pm End Date Field Oct. 7th 6pm. RECORD 2: Start Date field - Oct. 14th 5pm End Date Field Oct. 14th 6pm. Now, I select all four fields and use autofill to drag them down. It gets the dates right and will copy every Monday till the end of time. But, it also subtracts one hour from the times…so RECORD 3, RECORD 4, etc all go from 4pm to 5pm, instead of the proper time 5pm - 6pm…why does it subtract an hour, how do i prevent it changing the time? Hey guys, Looking for a automated way to ‘expire’ or move a record from one ‘active’ table to another ‘achieved’ table in the same base. The current column that I want to do the check on is a date column in the format (currently dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm). I basically want to move anything that has passed a certain date to a different table. Both tables have the same columns

I’m wondering if this is possible at present. My use example is thus: I’m currently organizing the civil parishes of Scotland by county, and therefore linking a table of hundreds of parishes to their home county in a separate table. Aberdeenshire has eighty-six different parishes and I’d like these to show up in both table view and form view alphabetically. I know I can reorder them by dragging each item around, but it would be far more efficient to have them automatically reorder by alphabetization. Is reordering a long list of linked items expressly a manual process? Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have!

Hi! I am trying to do the following: from a Webflow form, allow the user to select certain products. When finished, go and look for those products in my Airtable base and export a .pdf that contains their full-length descriptions. These descriptions exist in a .pdf format that have graphics, diagrams, etc. I am guessing the best way to go about this is through an HTML export but I’ve never done it before. Any ideas on how to approach it? I was thinking on using Zapier for the triggers. Thanks a lot!

Hi there, I would like to give a background to this question. I run my own recruitment agency/staffing business so I have a large number of resume/cv documents. When I am given a job vacancy to work on for a client (e.g. they are looking for C# Developer with SQL experience and power BI) I would use my current Recruitment ATS application to search within my database of CV’s and it would bring up matching candidates by searching for keywords WITHIN each document (Its vital that I can pick up keywords within the document and NOT just the title) for instance I might run a boolean search like this… c# AND sql AND (power-bi OR “power bi” OR powerbi) AND (developer OR programmer OR “software engineer”) and it would then show me all of the resumes that fit these criteria. So my question is are you aware of any app within Airtable that could provide this function for me please? Any response/suggestions are greatly appreciated! Many thanks and warmest regards Tom
