I’m creating weekly schedule notice for volunteers. Would like to list out the day(s) the volunteer is signed up in a reminder email. E.g. "We have you on the schedule this week for; If (Monday) print “Monday” (pseudo code) If (Tuesday) print “Tuesday” etc. I have a view with this week’s volunteers names, email address, and checkbox columns for Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Friday. Questions: Is supported in SendGrid block? Is there an example someone could point me to for this? I’m new. All helpful feedback welcome.

Is it possible to set up a table within a base that would duplicate the primary field of another table and that would automatically edit in tandem with that field in the other table? For example: Say I am creating a database of countries. My first table is a list of all of those countries, populations, info about them, etc. Next I want to create an additional table that specifically focuses on proposals related to those countries. How can I assure that if I make an addition to my country name field on one table, it is also added to the other table? Thanks!

Since Airtable lacks the ability to limited permissions by table and does not allow linking of records between multiple bases, I need use API or Zapier to keep child bases in sync with our parent base. The Parent Base contains only two fields - Project Number & Project Name. I can easily use Zapier to detect new record in Parent Base and push those two fields into the child bases. But often the Project Name will be updated in the Parent Base. I need those updates to push to the child bases as well. One workaround I tried was to create a Last Modified Field linked to Project Name, create a view filtered by “in the last day” and use New Record in View as the trigger. That works for the 1st time a project is renamed in the last 24 hours. But if the project is renamed several times in the span of a few minutes, Zapier only recognizes the first change as “new”. Any way to do this via API or otherwise?

Hi All, VERY new here and new to the database world, enjoying AirTable and it NEARLY does everything i want… (im sure the bits it doesn’t do are more down to my incompetence than air tables inability) I have a question though. Employee time tracking for an engineering workshop - So i have a base, a list of machines, a list of employees and other relevant data. i have a start and an end time column but my problem is that there maybe say 20 different start and stop times for any 1 job. how do i track the operators time spent on 1 job without having 20 start and stop time fields ? I almost want a button he clicks that says “im on” then another saying “im off” then those hours are calculated per job, and… i can also see how many hours he has been booked to jobs per week… I have a feeling this is a very large ask! but any help or guidance would be greatly appriciated Cheers Steve

Hi. I have original db in airtable. And i want to copy it to other tables (in same project) several times and filter by category. like this But as i understand, this is available in same table to another (grid) view. (i need table, not view. becuz the reason i do this is i am making an app by Thunkable) Or if i just duplicate a table, then it will not update automatically. So please help me. Do i need a script block or something?

Hi guys, I’ve got a form with a single select option, that’s linking to another table. However when you click to add, it shows all of the fields for all of the records in the linked table. Is there any way to prevent seeing all of the fields during selection? It pulls every field from the linked table. Thanks for your help!

Trying to get cells in my base to display photos from Google Drive or Google Photos. When I select Google Drive as the location of the attachment, I get the page that connects me with my Google Accounts. I choose an account, I grant permissions, then we go back to the Airtable attachment selection, but the only option is the same as before “Connect to Google Drive”. I have no problems importing directly from my computer.

I’ve got a few questions that I’m having a hard time figuring out the best approach to solve or if it can be solved easily (very much not a JS person)… I want to create a record in a table based on conditions from the original table. The new record should copy information from the original table that are held as different field types. Something like this: Conditions for new record: If xTeam is in thisField, then create new record in otherTable Data to be copied: thisTable.launchDate = otherTable.liveDate thisTable.activityDescription = otherTable.description thisTable.launch = otherTable.launch --> (this is currently a lookup between the two tables where otherTable looks up thisTable) thisTable.activityOwner = otherTable.requestor --> (this is currently a lookup from a 3rd table) write otherTable.status as request Is this feasible in the scripting block? and are there any good examples/resources on the types of functions to write to execute this? Can you add a color legend to the Gantt view? Especially with multiple Gantts and color schemes, people keep asking what the colors mean and are struggling to remember. This has prevented the full collaborative potential of this block view. Currently Gantt ease of use is lacking between the color scheme and custom record IDs. I built a master base to keep track of stories across 4 other bases using the Sync block. It’s working as an MVP, but I don’t seem to have the ability to sync the “Collaborator” field from one base to another. Why is that? Any recommended approaches?

It would be great if I could use a column value other than the unique identifier as the display value for the gantt block. That would be much better as a single line text

We have used smartsheet for our Program management and has been asked to look at airtable as some of the other teams have been using it. will appreciate insight from users who have used both airtable and smartsheet, some questions How good is airtable for work collaboration - so that extended team can collaborate at all project phases ? Gantt chart and dependency - have read negative reviews? how this can be accomplished by airtable? Parent - child relationships - smartsheet does that very nicely for Program - Project - milestone - activity level zooming tracking & reporting, can it be done by airtable? executive level dashboards - can you give read only access to executives? If we do reach a decision to use airtable, can smartsheet information be imported in airtable without loosing ( conditional formatting, formulas etc.) Thanks, P

I’m creating an RFQ form where customers will state what type of product they want, the desired quantity, and any special instructions. Is there a way to create a chart in the form where the first column is the product name, the 2nd column is the quantity, the 3rd column is the unit, the 4th column is the deadline, and the 5th column is special instructions. The chart needs to have multiple rows in case they order several products. How can I do this? Thanks!

Hello, I’ve created two forms in the same workplace, but the submissions are all being combined into one grid. Is there a way to create a separate grid for each form’s entries?

I am checking in to see if I am right with this one: When a person is assigned read only access to a base, they can see everything, but they are unable to apply any filtering or sorting of any given view. However, if a private link is provided via a url, then even without access to airtable a person can apply filtering and sorting. Is this correct? Because if so, It seems slightly odd.

Hi all! I’m creating an airtable, but I have a user that I need to be able to see just one view, but not the whole table, for privacy reasons. I also do NOT want that view to be viewable to the public (by a link). Is this possible?

We are currently looking to collect a wide array of data on individual subjects at several data collection stations. Because of this, we have taken a single table, and have built several distinct forms off of it in order to split the data collection between different computers. For instance, on a single football player, one station may record height and weight, while another station records position and running speed. However, when we try to do this, despite having the same primary field, we have multiple records for each sample, looking something like this: Individual…Height…Weight…Position…Speed (sec) John_______6’_____200 Peter______6’2_____210 Andrew____6’4_____220 John_____________________QB________4.75 Peter_____________________WR_______4.69 Andrew___________________RB________4.20 Despite the fact that the sample in the primary field the same individual, using two forms to fill in data is causing a repeat of the individual’s entry. I have a field of dates that are in text form (for purposes of a Zapier automation - Zapier is unable to put entries into Airtable “Date/Time” fields. If I am wrong, please let me know). It is in MM/DD/YYYY format. When we sort the field by A-Z, the MM/DD section sorts properly, but when it gets to YYYY, it is sorting “2020” before “2019”. Why is that, and is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Hello! New Airtable user here, and I apologize if I’m being one of those people who are asking something very elementary. In reality, I’m just looking to see if what I’m trying to do is even possible. I have a base that has been set up with different tabs/tables. To keep things simple, one of them is marked AGENTS (with columns marked Agent, City, Phone Number, etc), the next is marked EVENTS (with columns marked Agent, Event Type, Length, etc) and another marked MEDIA (with columns marked as Site, Agent, Type of Media). I know how to make each table into a form which can be filled out by an “Agent”, so it feeds directly into that table. But is there a way to create a master form which fills into areas of each of these different tables? I hope that makes sense. Basically, we want to provide a form for our agents to fill in, and have it feed into a variety of tables under certain headings. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hi! Is there a keyboard shortcut to expand a linked record? Or has anyone found a different way of solving this? When interacting with mouse, clicking to expand the linked record is dangerously close to the X to remove the linked record… Thank you! Freddie

I have a form that populates a current base. Part of the form functionality asks the customer which of our locations they are contacting us about. Currently it all feeds to one base, which I group into separate segments by location. But I would prefer if each location had its own individual grid within the base. Is this possible?
