I love the new conditional fields in the AirTable Interface. But I was wondering if it is possible to have collapsable sections (or grouped) in expanded records, beyond conditional viewing. right now I use Buttons as "SHOW" or "HIDE" with the conditional viewing to mimic a collapsing section. But i am hoping that this can be made into a real feature

What is the proposed idea/solution? When using the "Group by" feature, Treat the group heading as a frozen row so that it follows the user down the page until the next 'group' heading takes over, or at least make this an option for users who would find it convenient. If there are subgroups How does is solve the user problems? It doesn't make the user try to recall what the 'group' category is if they are having to scan several records that fall within a single group. I love Airtable, but this is a nightmare for a person with ADHD. I sometimes have to scan back up the page multiple times to see what 'group' records fall under. ... How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? I think many folks would find this useful, but as a neurodivergent Airtable user who has loved being able to create systems with Airtable that *mostly* work for my brain, this one is a working memory nightmare.

This would be a very useful feature to prevent people from accidentally entering dates that have already passed, or to restrict to a certain period of time (e.g. no more than two weeks ahead). Additionally if you have a form with several date fields, you could have conditional restrictions on what date could be entered based on a previous date entered (e.g. a finish date would always have to be after a start date).

Some interfaces are made for data entry that requires copying a lot of items, and it would be absolutely helpful to have a little Copy to clipboard button instead of highlighting text and copying multiple times. This is especially helpful if: it's a link or an email—this feature will avoid accidentally clicking on them if done manually it's an editable field that usually requires copying than editing—this feature will avoid mistakenly editing the entry As my suggestion title implies, this is a toggle, allowing Interface designers to show or hide this option. It can also show up when hovered.

As a person who is red/green colorblind, it would be immensely helpful to hover over a specific color and see a label telling me what color I am looking at. I find it challenging to select the appropriate colors for single select, multi-select, and conditionally formatted records that make sense to my clients.
Another option would be to allow users to specify their own custom color using hex codes.
Thanks.

What is the proposed idea/solution? There is not currently an option to add a generic search bar to a custom interface page. The only option is to have different filter options How does is solve the user problems? It would give users the abilty to search multiple different fields without having to make sure they are typing matching text in the correct filter option How was this validated? User experience. The photo attatched shows the custom view that is being used, the reason I do not change it to the prefigured Kanaban view is because there is another view below it that I like having on the same page as the Kanaban view. Who is the target audience? Airtable users

I understand that Airtable is an incredibly complex application and making all of it meet WCAG standards for accessibility is a long/difficult process. As an educational institution, we are mostly limited by the SHARE and FORM options within Airtable. If there was a way to share gallery/table views and forms that were accessible it would quadruple our possible business use cases for Airtable. If we could post Airtable forms or shared views on our public websites it would significantly increase its usefulness. Without that, we can only use Airtable as a backend organizational tool for a small number of users. I realize there are workarounds for this with other applications but each application purchase includes an extensive budget, IT, and accessibility review, and adding additional tools just to make our outputs from Airtable accessible is a huge pain.

What is the proposed idea/solution? I suggest introducing a test/production environment feature in Airtable that applies to the data automations and interface sections of a base. This would allow users to create and test changes within a "test" version of a base, including data modifications and interface updates etc.. without impacting the live production environment. Once the changes have been fully tested and validated, users could publish these changes to the production environment, ensuring that the live base remains stable and unaffected during the testing phase. How does is solve the user problems? Comprehensive Risk Mitigation: It provides a safe environment for users to experiment with data, automations and interface changes, minimizing the risk of disrupting the live base. Increased Confidence in Updates: Users can test new workflows, interface layouts, formulas, scripts, and automations comprehensively in isolation, ensuring everything works correctly before pushing changes live. Streamlined Workflow: This would eliminate the need for cumbersome workarounds, such as duplicating bases for testing, and reduce confusion caused by multiple versions. It would also allow for seamless transitions from testing to production, improving overall efficiency. Who is the target audience? Power Users: Those who use Airtable for complex projects and need to test changes before going live. Teams and Organizations: Groups relying on Airtable for collaboration, requiring safe testing environments to avoid disruptions. Developers and Technical Users: Those building custom scripts or integrations who need a sandbox for experimentation. Project Managers: Responsible for maintaining base integrity, ensuring changes are vetted before deployment. Consultants: Professionals managing Airtable for clients, needing to demo changes safely before applying them to live bases Thank you Team Airtable !

Hi, Not sure if my previous post worked, but one of the comments from the team at work is that the grid views are messy when it's a whole page of 'pill' shapes, particularly when they're all different widths (based on the text length of each option). Is there the ability to: 1. Shade/colour the entire cell instead of just a pill shape? 2. If not, can the width of the pills be based on the width of the column instead of the text length, so they're clear and a consistent width regardless of the dropdown option selected? 3. And, can white be included as a pill colour so we can have drop-down fields that look like plain text? These would significantly help with clarity when reading grid views. Cheers, Andrew

What is the proposed idea/solution? Allow a one-click "expand all" or "collapse all" on the Interface's Record Review's Record list sidebar, allowing easier viewing of records without the need to manually collapse/expand them. How does it solve the user problems? Ease and efficiency of use instead of doing it manually. How was this validated? Normal data view can do it, so the interface should be able to do so as well. Who is the target audience? Interface users who use Record Review.
