A capability that could be extremely relevant for many use cases (i.e., CRM, Project Management, and others) would be the record ID reference in enriched long-text. Golden does this in a very elegant way (see: https://golden.com/wiki/Microsoft-6GKP), where the description of Microsoft is then linked to another record with structured data. I imagine a functionality in enriched text that allows you to mention in text for a different record in the same (or different) airtable base. A clear example is a reference call where you mention that during this reference call, the name of a different company popped up. So the text reads something like: "During the call with a prospective client, the name of record_id:xyx came up. Additionally, record_id:zzy was highly recommended. ". In this case, the record_id:xyx also tracks information on when it was mentioned independently. As well as record_id:zzy both linking to the same reference.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Extend the date dependencies feature from only coverind 'date' to also cover 'hours' and 'minutes' How does is solve the user problems? I want to build an agenda for a conference. The records are my sessions (e.g. Keynote 1). Now I wanted to use the date dependency feature to update the whole schedule if I let's say change the duration of Keynote 1. Who is the target audience? Basically anyone who want to build a schedule or running order.

We're trying to use Airtable forms to track customer leads for conversion/remarketing ad campaigns, but confirming a form submission is very difficult. We currently redirect to a confirmation page on our site that fires conversion tracking tags, but because the redirect delay is so long we're worried prospects will close the page before they activate those tags. When building a form, we'd love options to: Set the redirect delay time (including the option for no delay) Customize the redirect page text/design (so it can show a message that's more engaging than just the redirect URL)

Our team really needs the ability to group fields together and visually display those groups, similar to adding an extra header row in Excel (example below). Benefits: Enhanced Visual Clarity: This feature will provide an improved visual understanding of the relationship between different fields, eliminating the need for users to check each field's description separately. Improved Organization: This feature will allow users to categorize and group related fields together, enhancing the data's structure and making it easier to navigate and understand. Personalization: By allowing users to change the color and title of the group, the feature adds a layer of personalization, making the data representation more intuitive and user-specific. Use Case Examples: Project Management: In a project management base, fields can be grouped together based on different project stages, team responsibilities, etc., enhancing the understanding of project flow and status. CRM: In a CRM base, fields can be grouped by customer details, interaction history, deal status, etc., providing a better overview of customer relationships. HR Management: In an HR base, fields can be grouped into "Applicant Details" and "Interview Status", making it easier to track the recruitment process. Event Planning: In an event planning base, fields can be grouped by event details, participant information, logistics, etc., enhancing the event management process. This feature, with its focus on improving visual understanding and data organization, aligns with Airtable's commitment to making data management more intuitive and user-friendly. Requirements Ability to create groups of related fields. Ability to assign individual fields to these groups. Ability to distinguish each group visually in both List and Grid views. Ability to display the name of the group in a master header above the respective grouped fields. Ability to personalize the appearance of these groups. Ability to change the color of a group. Ability to change the title of a group.

There should be a place to submit, access and maintain verified databases that are useful across specific industries. For example, a base with all the current Members of U.S. Congress with fields like Name, State, District (etc); or a base with all Airports with their time zone, city and state. Or a list of every country or state with abbreviations, etc. I think it would be a welcome addition to the community.

According to the feature documentation for Record Templates, there is a default behavior by field type when applying a template to an existing record, as follows: Empty non-array type fields are filled according to the template's configuration Array-type fields are always appended to and deduplicated Non-empty, non-array type fields are ignored Computed field types cannot be directly modified by templates I suggest allowing these behaviors to be modified per template, through a similar screen as relative date settings can be. As an example, Single Select fields fall in the 'non-empty, non-array' category, but I often need to change one of these fields (e.g. Status) along with other changes to the target record. Assuming the categories must stay the same, the following options would be very helpful: Empty, Non-Array: Ignore or Overwrite Array: Ignore, Overwrite or Append Non-Empty, Non-Array: Ignore or Overwrite

What is the proposed idea/solution? To add a configuration to the List and Grid elements on Interfaces that allows us to transpose the data in the source table. This enables us to present financial data in conventional way where Months, Quarters or Years are column headers in the interface presentation while the data is tied together in rows in the database (for calculations etc). How does is solve the user problems? It extends the usability of Interfaces to enable conventional financial table views. How was this validated? This transposed view is the industry norm when viewing financial data for months / quarters / years. Who is the target audience? Interface users, specifically those that want to include financial overview as part of their interface dashboards.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Create an option for users to repeat tasks (eg Weekly) that they create in timeline view. Toggl Plan has this feature. How does is solve the user problems? Booking users to projects with just one date range (Start to End) will inevitably cause problems if adjustments need to be made. By creating the ability to repeat a weekly date range, changes can be made to individual parts of the overall date range. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? Users of the timeline that focus on booking team members on projects, for long time planning and short term adjustments.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Enable a staging/pre-prod environment for bases, and their associated interfaces and data. The solution should allow each base to be logically linked to a pre-prod base, with two-way syncing that is fired manually. Changes made in pre-prod should be easily pushed to prod, which would include adding/removing/editing: fields & attributes (e.g. name, formula, links, etc.) tables & attributes interfaces data (to allow for data staging and cleaning, especially for ETL/ELT purposes) data syncs should be optional, and provide the option to either completely overwrite or merge with existing data How does is solve the user problems? This allows users to make changes to either base structures, logic, or interfaces without affecting live / production data and interfaces. How was this validated? Staging and Prod environments are best practice in any development process. Who is the target audience? Everyone who values data integrity.
