Hello Airtable Community! The November fall launch introduced a bounty of new features to work with! Here is a list of changes, big and small, that we introduced in November! You can click this link if you’d like to see a full-page version.

Hi all! I am excited to announce that Airtable recently rolled out powerful new features that let you sync data from outside sources and streamline even the most complex workflows. We’ve added sync integrations with Jira Server and Jira Data Center, Zendesk, Github Issues, Google Drive, and Box. What does this mean? Teams working on projects with multiple handoffs and interdependencies have better visibility into projects that will affect their work. Read on to learn more about syncing data from outside sources, and about what’s next in Airtable: automations that help you take actions at the right time and under the right conditions. Syncing data in Airtable Here’s a quick refresher on synchronizing data in Airtable. Syncing data, when it’s between two Airtable bases, essentially turns one base into the source of information and another into the destination base. Let’s say one team has generated a complete set of contacts for your company inside a base, and you don’t want other teams c

Hi all! We’ve got something special planned for the last Table Talk of the year. In this Year In Review episode, we’re going to be speaking with Andrew Ofstad, co-founder of Airtable. We’ll talk about the features we launched in 2021, the thought process behind those features (and the feedback received), and generally how these features fit into the broader vision for Airtable. You can submit your questions for Andrew in advance here. Note: Roadmap questions will not be addressed during this session, but we heard your feedback and want to share that we have plans early next year for an episode to properly highlight some of our plans for 2022. More details to come 🙂

We could not be more excited to announce a new weekly stream about all things Airtable on Youtube, which we have fondly named Table Talks. Each week you will have the opportunity to tune in live to ask all your Airtable questions about a specific topic and connect with like-minded creators. We would love to have you join us for our inaugural stream on Thursday, September 16 at 10 am PDT, where we will be chatting about the power of linked records. Here you can find all the details for the first 3 streams, submit questions in advance, or add the events to your calendar. If you’re able to join us live (or just catch the recordings), please don’t hesitate to share your feedback here after the event - we want these streams to be as valuable to the community as possible. Thank you for the support and we hope to see you online. Airtable Join our weekly livestream! - Airtable Explore the "Join our weekly livestream!" view on Airtable.

Views let you visualize a base’s data in unique ways, often leading to quick insights. This year, we’ve released a variety of features that we’re going to dig into below so that users can organize and curate their views (yes, personal views too!) however they’d like - so keep reading, and let us know your thoughts below! There are three view permission types: Collaborative views: This is the default view type for newly created views, unless you have a large base (more on that later). In this view, editors and up can edit the view configuration. Personal views: This view type, available on Pro and Enterprise plans, can only be customized by the view’s owner. This means only the owner can change the view’s grouping, field order, record coloring, and more. Locked views: Locked views are another premium feature for Pro and Enterprise users that prevent all collaborators from altering the view’s configuration until they’ve been unlocked by a collaborator with creator or owner permissions.

Hello everyone! We recently launched some exciting new additions to our formula field with three new regex (regular expression) functions: REGEX_MATCH(string, regex) REGEX_EXTRACT(string, regex) REGEX_REPLACE(string, regex, replacement) These functions can be used to match character combinations within text strings. For those interested, Airtable’s REGEX functions are implemented using the RE2 regular expression library. You can learn more about these functions in this article or check out some example use cases shared in the posts below.

We are excited to announce that as of today, advanced filters are available in Airtable! What are advanced filters? Advanced filters allow Airtable users to reflect both ‘AND’ and “OR” conditions in a single filter configuration. This provides more flexibility and customizability to filter the information in your views. You can get started with advanced filters today, we can’t wait to hear what you think! Related resources: Advanced filtering: combining AND & OR using conditional groups Table Talk Common questions: Where are advanced filters currently integrated within the Product? You can currently access advanced filtering in many areas where filtering is available within the product: View filtering Record coloring Condition form fields Conditional lookups / rollups /counts Mobile record filtering (gradual rollout over the next few weeks) What if I try adding a condition to a nested condition group and make a mistake? Is there a way to revert back to the original? You can ea

Hi everyone – I wanted to give you a heads up about some important database upgrades we’re making to improve Airtable’s reliability. Our services will be unavailable for about 20 minutes on Friday, October 15 at 10 p.m. PT, and we wanted to give you a heads up given the potential disruption to your operations. Here are the details, which can also be found here in our help center. We’re making important database upgrades to improve Airtable’s reliability. On Friday, October 15 at 10 p.m. PT, our services will be unavailable for about 20 minutes as we complete this important work. Although these upgrades will improve Airtable’s performance, speed, and ability to scale further in the future, we recognize that any downtime is disruptive to our customers. We’ve identified this timing based on historical usage patterns and the fact we’re able to avoid working hours for the vast majority of our users. While we believe this necessary maintenance will be complete in only a few minutes based on

Hi all - We are excited to share that today, we launched an updated Automations pane that includes some improvements that will help you be able to better utilize automations in your bases. Two major updates to share: We have moved the Automations tool from the right sidebar to a full-screen experience, so you can see both the triggers + the actions at the same time We are improving the icons and descriptions in product so it’s clear what each step is and how it’s all connected Additional resources: Support article: Automations overview We hope this makes your Automations experience even more powerful and we look forward to your feedback. This change is rolling out now and will be visible to all bases soon!

Hi everyone! We’re excited to offer an invitation to try one of our newest features - GitHub Issues External Source Sync and Automation Actions . From there, you can use all of Airtable’s core functionality to work with the data: views , filters, sorts, automations, and more. Furthermore, with GitHub Issues Automation Actions, you can set up new automations to create and update issues in GitHub. To sign up for the beta, fill out this quick form and click the link at the end. The feature should become available within a few minutes of clicking the link. If it doesn’t, try refreshing the page. A feature just launched today that will help you import entire Google Sheets as either a new base, or as tables within an existing base. This feature is similar to our recently launched Excel importer with much of the same functionality. You can learn more about importing your Sheets into Airtable in this support article. Let us know how it’s working for you and how we improve!

Happy Friday community! I wanted to let everyone know about a handy update to the 3 current email actions available in our Automations feature: Send an email Outlook email: Send email Gmail: Send email You can now preview an email that you are crafting, before testing any of these actions! This means no more multiple email tests before getting the formatting of the email the way you want it to look. Here’s an example using the “Gmail: Send email” action: This feature also allows you to more easily see which test record is being used by our system so you can let a collaborator or client know to disregard any test emails that are sent while you finalize your automation’s setup. Note that the “To”, “Subject”, and “Message” fields must be filled in for the “Preview email” button to become clickable. My workmate, Rose, will have another update later today, so keep an eye out! 👀

Happy Friday Community! Here at Airtable, we are always looking for new ways to unblock people, and help them find the answers they need to build to their heart’s content. With that in mind, we are happy to announce the release of a new Community category named: Featured Resources. The Featured Resources category contains collections of resources created by both Community users and Airtable. We believe this will help to organize and present answers to common questions, provide use case examples, and showcase awesome workflows. We have launched this category with a starting set of collections, but we will continually add to these existing collections, and soon plan to create new collections dedicated to other Airtable features. Each collection of featured resources is correlated to a specific product feature area for easy perusal. If you’d like to nominate a Community Post to an existing feature collection, or to one we don’t have yet, please submit it here!
