Imagine you have set a rule that your kids are only allowed 2 cookies from the jar when they get home from school. They have access to the cookie jar (a particular table), but they can only have 2 cookies (2 records per day). When they try to take a 3rd cookie they will be blocked, and redirected to a different page.How would one do this with AirTable? We have tried doing it from the UI in Softr, but this requires us to update the UI when users in the kids group have taken 2 cookies, which is a little tricky to get right. It would be much better if this limit could be implemented on the server side, in AirTable, somehow.Any thoughts anyone, please?

I have master blocks of code in my code table.in another table - main table -I wish to get data from a field in the code table by specifying it’s rec ID. I will then combine this code with other data from the main table. I can do this with a linked table but it requires that the user must remember to select a record every time a new record is added in the main table and since there is no default for linked record, I cannot find a way of using linked records.i was hoping to create a formula that did this get(field.codeTable(recID))I could put the actual field data from the record in code table directly into a formula but then every time my code is updated rather than update the code table code I have to remember to do this elsewhere.any help much appreciated, perhaps a script?

Hello,I am building a project management tool and want to send daily messages to the users on late tasks, upcoming etc...to do so, I have created my automation as follow: The idea is to run automation everyday, look for all users from a table 'participants', and for each one of them search for late tasks assigned to them. Generate an email and send it to each recipient. (I don't want to generate 1 email per late task.... too many messages)This works great as is, except that if there is nothing late in the queue for a user, he will still get an email with an empty table...anybody has a solution to add a condition on this automation?thanks!

Hey there, I'm stuck at this point and really hope some expert could help me out. As a language center, we collect payments from the students in phases. We have a "master" table including students' information, I then sync the view to another base for payment tracking. I really want to keep using that "synced view" for accounting purpose, because then I don't have to type in the whole list of names again. In another way, I want to keep the information consistent and save time from creating and updating many lists for different departments in the company. However, for the accounting base, I can't add rows below each student's name (as it is a synced view!) to track their different payments (divided  into 4). I had to track those veritically (adding columns instead of rows) and this causes some inconveniences. I want to filter the Data by status, for example "Due soon" or "Overdue" and see the sum of the amount of money we expect  to collect in the fu

I have a table of worklist items that are assigned to users. I want to create an automation that once triggered will execute the "find records" and would go through the distinct list of users that have open tasks.  Open tasks I can do with a filter, but how do I work it out such that if Joe has 3 tasks, the action only executes once for Joe?I tried the group but it didn't seem to do the trick (unless I'm doing it incorrectly). I could just do it all in a script, but I'd rather use the no-code tools to drive the automation. Thanks.

I am trying to create a project tracker with a task list and start dates and end dates for each task that are calculated automatically based on a dependent (linked) task and its associated dates. My problem is how to create the first row because no matter what formulas I build for the various date columns, I end up with a circular reference error. I'm expect this is possible in Airtable but I haven't figured out how to do it.I have tried adding a Manual Date column and a Calculated Date Column and then using this function for the start date of each taskIF({Previous Task},{Calculated Start Date},{Manual Start Date})But it still gives me a circular error reference.

Hi! So, I tried an automation to send an email to some designated people from a list on Table 2 when a record enters a view on Table 1. The users are coming from a linked record from T1 to T2, but when I configured the automation, the system apparently didn't read the emails are emails so, so it failed to send anything. Am I missing something on how to do it?  Background: All of the users are Airtable users but they don't have access to the email accounts linked to those emails.

Hi, for some reason, when I input numbers with two decimal places in my 'number' field, they automatically round up to 1 decimal place. How can I prevent this from happening? Thank you!

Hi,I'm in the unfortunate situation that I seem to have an automation bug that creates unwanted changes to some records, but not all.Since I cannot on my own find out which automation causes this (mailed support regarding this), I wanted to at least identify all instances. The symptom is I end up having two different contact information for the record. Unfortunately there are no identical fields to make an easy IF (!=) between, only parts of the fields are the same (basically a name, with different stuff before and after).In Sheets/Excel this would be a VLOOKUP case, and in the automations there is 'CONTAINS' that could be used. But how could I build a formula that takes one column (in full, I was able to SUBSTITUTE it down to the exact string) and find records where the other column contains the search string?TIA,Björn

There is a table of CASES with a bunch of fields and then another table called CASE ACTIVITY which has scheduled activities for each CASE, so the tables are linked by CASEID which is the primary field on CASES.That all works fine. Hi guys. I have a workspace through which we manage our business, an academy. I have just two users, one for the owners and creators, and another for the teachers. Our problem is that we need the teachers to access to some bases and some interfaces of the main data base, but no to all the administration and managers info, and till now i havent found a way to restrain the access just to the bases and interfaces that they need. Is there anyway to manage the permissions or block access through passwords???? Thanks a lot for your time. 

I am very excited about this new Public Interface option and want to share an interface with a client through an embedded code in an outside website. But I am having trouble because I have an Interface with Linked Records and when I select one of the linked records I get a spinning circle in the field box for the linked record. I am assuming this is a viewing permissions issue because I have no trouble seeing the linked record when I am working inside Airtable. The linked record is connected to the "Contact Table" and that is also has shared public permissions in the Interface. What else can I do to make these linked records also viewable?

I would like to be able to select data from a list of choices on softr. However, by linking the dropdown option to a linked data column on airtable, the data of another user also appears and I would like to avoid it. So I tried to use dynamic filters, but it does not work.  AS

Hello folks!Total newb here!I have a base with 2 tables. Table 1 is orders that are placed by customers. Table 2 is a list of those products with a corresponding URL to the image.I'm trying to have the Cover Art field in Table 1 populate with the corresponding date from Cover Art URL in Table 2; based on the Product field in Table1 when the customer places the order.Basically when a customer places an order, I want the Cover Art field in Table 1 to pull the appropriate URL from Table 2, based on the Product field in Table 1.  Does that sound utterly confusing?I've attached some screenshots in case it's helpful.I've been spinning around online trying to figure out how to accomplish something I believe is actually simple.With grace,JQ

New to all of this. No coding background; small business owner. I am trying to create a rudimentary inventory system with Airtable. I can't figure out how to get a formula to "count" the number of array entries in a linked record field, and return back a simple integer value. For example, in the photo attached, the "Reserved" field should return the value of "2," since there are two entries in the linked record field. Any ideas? Hi there, I have 4 tables that are linked - they are as followed: Table 1) People who fills in the form Table 2) Companies (105) Table 3) Research Areas (17) Table 4) Questions (5) I want to create forms that match one company, in one research area, with one question - like; Company 1-105 + Area 1-17 + Question 1-5 - where these variables change, so each form is sent to a person who fills in the form with a specific combination. One person, one combination. So I select the combination (best if it’s automated) and the form only makes it possible to answer the question with predefined options. So the first fields are pre-filled by me - hope it makes sense. I’m new to Airtable. Best, Eva

Hi, is there a way to have a field prefilled in a form AND hide the field at the same time? IMO it should be standard option since most of the time when you prefill a field for users, you don’t want them to even see the field and have the ability to mess with it.

I have been reading for hours through the help forum and documentation, but ARRAYSLICE doesn't want to work for me.I want to achieve the following: Show me the first value of an array. My formula is: ARRAYSLICE(verticals_from_contact, 1, 1) but it doesn't show me the first value of the array. Instead, the field shows me the whole array. If I change it to: ARRAYSLICE(verticals_from_contact, 2, 2) nothing is shown anymore.  I tried the formula on lookup fields, linked records, and multi-select fields, and nothing worked (see image). Does anyone have an idea what's wrong?

We are trying to setup a notification when a new file is uploaded to a record in a specific table. We have created a new Slack channel to receive these notifications. When connecting with Slack, only a subset of our team’s Slack channels appear. The new channel we just created doesn’t show up. Is this integration working currently? What are we missing? We’ve logged in/out of each app several times and retried but no luck. The new channel never appears.

A few of us have been using the Free plan.  I created a workspace. My colleague created a workspace. We added a few other colleagues.Got to a point where it made sense for us to upgrade so one of us purchased the Team plan, for a total of 8 users. So now all of my colleagues are part of my paid plan.After upgrading, I can confirm that I have 8 licensed users. When I log in, the workspace that I created now shows as being part of the 'team' plan, but our other two workspaces still show as 'free'. Why? Those workspaces were created by one of my colleagues that I just upgraded to the Team plan.The pricing is whacked, and having to upgrade my subscription (again) to the higher plan which is more than DOUBLE what I just paid, just to get the admin console, is ridiculous.I also find it very difficult to get in touch with anyone at Airtable. I’m not sure if this would be a script, but I have a table full of URLs and I want to query the ‘page title’ for that URL and return it to populate in another field ‘Page title’. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so what script I should run? Thanks

Hello.Very new to Airtable. I am a designer working with a marketer for an events org. We are using Aritable to manage all our projects. I need a unique number for all the projects and am wondering if it's possible to auto number across multiple tables in a base, as that is how she is going to organize (tab for brochures, tab for print ads, etc.)I also would like an alpha prefix because we will have another base for another events org that we work on simultaneously.Ideally, I would like to have all projects in both bases just be auto assigned a unique number, but I don't know if that is possible either.Thanks for any help!
