Hello all. I am hoping to organize my backpacking gear with AirTable. Weight is an important attribute of each item. What’s the best way to add a field for weight? Ideally, I would like to set up the field so it could calculate both lbs and oz. So 18 oz would recalculate to 1 lb 2 oz. Is that possible, or should I just keep things simple and record everything in ounces? Thanks for your help.

Hey I have the utilization setup, I am able to see daily utilization of each user in the timeline view as shown in the image below. How can I get more out of these daily utilization percentages ? Things I would like to get 1. User Average weekly utilization for the current week 2. User average utilization from a specific date to current date3. Average of utilization of all the users

Typically, A to D, A to C, or A to B happens, at which point I don't need an email automated. Hello,I have set up a zapier automation that, when an email in my gmail gets a particular label, will create a record in Airtable. Zapier will pass along the "to" email address(es) into one of the fields.  If there are multiple recipients on the email, the info is passed along as email1@test.com,email2@test.com with a comma separating the addresses. Here is my issue -- is there any way for me to set up an Airtable automation that will read those as two separate emails and then link this record with two contact records I have in Airtable?  I can make the Airtable automation work if the email was sent to a single recipient, but it cannot seem to recognize the comma as a separator in order to match/link multiple email addresses with multiple contacts.Thanks for any suggestionsAlex

Hello!I am trying to build something that I don't know how to build, and I think that this community can help!I need to set up an overview of a high school advisory curriculum where I can see several grade levels at once (overview) and then units within each grade level. Then I need to be able to see how those units articulate vertically. For example, we have a digital citizenship unit in each grade level, so I need to see where it exists in the yearlong calendar (scope & sequence) for each grade level (horizontally) so that the person who is delivering that unit is not in 4 places at once. I also need to see that one topic vertically (the details for grade 9, grade 10, etc.) so that I can see how it progresses over the years and make sure we are building on what they did the previous year.Would love to be able to chat with someone to work through this idea - just to get started with set up!   I have a view set up, and I would prefer not to display the primary field in it. I wanted to inquire if there is any way to hide this field within the view. Alternatively, if there are any other methods or workarounds to achieve the same outcome.

HelloI am trying to create some asset management system, and having a play with Airtable to see if i can get the functionality we need I have a table of ToolsI have another table with Field Work, with a start and end date. they are linked together with a link field where people can select which tools will be going on that job. I need to make sure there is some way of flagging a conflict if a tool is assigned to a record on the same dates.this flagging can be either a notification/flag, or refusal to assign tool, i dont mind as long as the users can see that their is a tool conflictCan anyone help with a way to automate this? or a different way to go about it?Many thanks!Kate

I'm trying to migrate some data I have in Google Sheets, to Airtable.I have a table, which is full of reservations/bookings. Each booking has a checkin and checkout date, and is allocated to a property. A booking also has a Status.I would like for each row (booking) to also have a field, Next Booking Reference. In Google Sheets, I had a formula which could find the Booking Reference, for the next booking after this one. I've created this shared view to serve as an example:https://airtable.com/appV8ivwvEiMnsmNf/shrUwgmVMY4O41Ki0In this example, Booking 1 (Karl), the Next Booking Reference would be Booking 9 (George).  The conditions for this are:Booking has the closest greater checkin date to current record's checkin.Booking is not cancelled OR blackBooking has the same property as current record.

I am looking into the possibility to migrate a Google Sheets solution, to Airtable.  One piece of functionality I was doing in Google Sheets was the below. I have a list of bookings. Each booking has a 'ValueAmount', and PaidOnI have an export of BankTransactions. This has information about Date, Description & Total of each transactionI want to be able to locate the BankTransaction automatically, for each paid booking. How this can be found is by taking the PaidOn, and giving it a time window of 7 days, and looking for a transaction matching the exact Value amount. As a condition this would be like: Booking.MatchingBankTransaction = (where Transaction.Value = Booking.ValueAmount and Transaction.TransactionDate >= Booking.PaidOn and Transaction.TransactionDate <= Booking.PaidOn + 7 days.The reason for the 7 days, is because the bank can show transactions later. Using the FILTER function in Google

Hi!I have a date field and a formula field (today MINUS date field) and another formula field that countdown (3 MINUS subtraction between today and date field) - I included photo of these fields. This is because the customs allows only 3 days for import the product. So I want an alert (countdown from when the customs contacted me that the product is at the customs).Now I want to add another date field (let's call it date field #2).I want automation (or formula field) that when I enter date in date field #2, formula field stops the countdown. Is it possible to do that with automation or another formula field? Hi all,Very new to Airtable, needing some help setting up a template.I've attached a screenshot for reference.I am wanting to use Airtable to keep an RFI (request for information) log which can be shared with my clients on a "base" by "base" basis. I will be the only Creator (for the foreseeable future) and will make my clients Editors so they can input their responses into fields left unlocked to Editors. The view layout will be the Grid view.I plan on creating a base per project and inside the base having the 1st column as the RFI question for the client (as a multi-line text box), the second as a selection of either "Outstanding" or "Resolved" (per row / RFI). Both these 1st 2x columns will only be able to be edited by myself as the Creator. Hi, I am trying to find a workaround for an issue I have with an AT automation that is triggered by a webhook. I am using 2 system webhooks (I can't control when they trigger) from ActiveCampaign. One is for 'deal created' which I am using as the trigger to create an airtable record. The second is 'deal updated' which I am using to update the airtable record (the aim is to keep the deal stage in the AirTable up to date). I am getting automation errors in AirTable because the deal updated webhook also fires in the same minute as the deal created webhook fires which means that the AT 'deal updated' automation runs an error with the update record upon most new deals. I am planning a workaround and wonder is it possible to restrict the conditions in the AirTable (deal updated) automation to end if an additional condition (field value in the webhook body) to the webhook trigger is not in place, or proceed if that data poin

I'm wondering if there's a way to allow users configure fields from within an interface? e.g., my use case is that a certain user needs to be able to adjust Kanban columns on the fly by changing available values in a single-select field. They could do this easily in a regular Kanban view in the base, but is it possible to do this somehow in an interface?

I am running an entire business out of an Airtable base. I want to change a primary field from a text field to a formula field. However, if any IDs were also to change, it would be devastating for my automations managed by Zapier. I was hoping someone here could help with the answer before I move forward with the change. Hi All! For the Gantt Chart view, does anyone know if there's a way to have airtable automatically adjust all dependent task start dates when the predecessor task is moved up (backward in time)?  I see that airtable automatically pushes out all dependent tasks automatically (this is great) but if a task duration is shortened or end date is moved back, all of the dependent tasks stay exactly where they are. Is there a setting I need to turn on to enable automatic date adjustments in both directions?  This seems like a very basic feature for Gantt charts and doesn't quite make sense to have it only for updates in one direction but not the other! Jack

I have a database of students in various "home rooms" each assigned a teacher.  I can easily create a view that shows the students in that homeroom that I can send to the teachers, however, there is one more record in another table that is linked to the teacher that shows their budget of what they can spend each month and how much they get for each class.  How can I send them a "dashboard" that has the records of their students, AND the one record for each teacher that has their budget? Thanks,Jeff

Hi, I am using an attachment field and looking to upload the attachments from my google drive. I was able to connect my google drive however it is only letting me choose attachments from ‘My Drive.’ I am looking to choose the attachments from ‘Shared Drives’ as it is a team folder. Does anyone know if and how this is possible? Thanks in advance.

hello!i'm trying to send emails via the outlook automation. everything works like a charm, apart from the emails not arriving at all. so it doesn't work at all 😞 unless the receipient of the mail is an address with the same domain as the one i am sending from, that seems to work. but if i try to send to a gmail address, i simply never receive the email. does anyone have any idea why this might be? very sad.

Apparently when a dash aka minus sign is used as the first character of a text field, a single quote is inserted in CSV export. There's no need for this and it confusing when you expect a normal CSV export behaviour.Can you please list the extra character insertions you do beyond what the CSV format requires?EDIT: it's inconsistent even. Sometimes it inserts a single quote (that isn't there in the data) and sometimes it doesn't. Even two rows below each other.% grep -o '..\- C[^ ]\+' exported.csv,"- Choice"'- ChoiceAfter experimentation, we found that a single quote is inserted at the start of the value if:- The value starts with a dash- The value contains an opening round bracket (aka parenthesis)This sounds like a bug rather then a feature to me.
