Hello Airtable community! I would like to have an easier work with my tabs and no to think or miss something in future when its go bigger and im thinking about linking my data. I know ho to link some of cells collumns from one table to another and automate these two. But im not sure about this how to do that thibg I have database for my networking and different tables. Examples: general contact customers pre-orders, potentional customers in every table i have “last contact” to track when we spoke last time to to follow up. I wanted to link up this “last contact” which is created in #1 general contact with #2 customers and #3 pre-orders. If i change last contact in #1 general so it switch on #2 or #3 (depends who im communicating with) and also wa

Hi everyone, I have a pretty simple base and need some of the records to recur daily. Right now I just change the dates on all of them at the end of each day. Is there a simple way to turn a few records into recurring records in Airtable without having to use another tool (such as Zapier etc.)? I’ve seen some solutions but they all seem a bit complicated and I hope there is a new feature that I am not aware of that could make my life easier now :slightly_smiling_face: . Hey there ! I’m struggling to automatically update some records that are in airtable bases. I’ve got a flow into a google sheet with clean url, that I would match to same url into Airtable (but those may not be all clean.) In Google sheet my urls are without “/” at the end In Airtable 80% of urls are with " / " at the end, 20 % not. Do you know how should I write my formula to search both case each time and update the record in question ? thank you in advance ! Will

I’m planning to automatically send an email to our customers if the Paid checkbox is ticked, so my trigger event is when the column for the Paid checkbox is updated but I am worried if I accidentally untick the checkbox and customers will receive multiple emails. Is there a way that I could create a warning pop-up that will ask me “Are you sure you want to proceed?” Thanks!

I’ve encountered this problem a number of times now. I have many automations set up for various projects. Seemingly randomly, some of my automations will rapid fire 10-20 emails to the recipients. These “runs” are not shown in the “run log.” It only shows that automation running one time. However, the email recipients receive multiple emails of the same record. It’s a huge problem for us, as we are using these automations to run projects for our clients and I don’t want to spam their email inboxes. Anyone else have this happen to them? I have tried changes my trigger from a “matching conditions” to “entering a view” with a specific filter. No luck. Again, it doesn’t happen every time, only with certain records. At first, I thought maybe it was if the attachment file was too big, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Help please!

One of the bases we have created is to gather feedback from course participants. I have a form designed but the issue is that participants can submit feedback for one of a list of many facilitators. The hope was to be able to create an automation per facilitator so that their feedback can populate a Google Sheet row and then email them to let them know that they have received new feedback. We will definitely have in excess of the 25 automation limit though. The automation I created is intended to search for the specific facilitators name when the form is submitted and then populates their individual Google Sheet. Is there any way that I can create an automation that where I could combine and add in multiple facilitators? Would it work if I just added additional steps for Find Records with one each for each facilitator? Hi all, I’m working on an automation : 2 tables : A and B Trigger : when an option is selected in a single select field in table A Running action : create a new record in Table B with all information of the record in table A => it works perfectly for all fields type except for one : attachement I’ve got pictures in an attachement field in table A, and I’d like this pictures to appear in an attachement field of the created record in table B but when I choose the attachement field in table B, i’m being asked to “choose a property” : I tried it all but I’m not getting my picture in table B. There doesn’t appear to be an action step in Airtable Automations that allows for finding records by a search criteria and creating the record if it doesn’t exist. This can be done with Zapier, but I would love to be able to accomplish automations requiring this to be done with Airtable Automations. Is there a workaround that would allow for this? Perhaps using a script?

This seems to easy to not have been answered somewhere; I must be asking the wrong questions. If I send an automated email which includes a column for “Last Modified Date” my column is empty, even when there is a date on the actual table. What do I need to do to fix that? Assuming that’s just one of the quirks of Airtable, will a formula field repeating the data solve the problem? Thanks everyone.

I have an integer from Airtable going to Zapier to use as a filename for a PDF, but the file that comes back to Airtable is named “20201140719%EF%BB%BF.pdf” instead of “20201140719.pdf” It’s some kind of UTF-8 Byte Order Mark or something. I thought it might be a hidden character in the text field in Airtable, so I converted to an integer, but that didn’t fix it.

I am having trouble getting this automation to work. It’s almost there! I have a monthly task list, and after I complete the task for the month, I want it to re-appear with the new due date. Example: “Give dog her medicine on 10/1/2021”. Frequency = 30 days. Once task is complete, add new task for “Give dog her medicine on 11/1/2021”. I have everything working except the date. Can anyone help? I’ve recorded what I’m doing so you can see. It says “Could not convert string to date.” but I cannot get it to work. Thank you!

I have some formula column fields with the following syntax: column_1: checkbox type column_2: formula type with IF statement Everything is working as expect and I see as table results the desired emoticon if is checked or unchecked. The problem occurs when I add those records as grid in the Airtable email automations. I get empty grid values in the email where these formula column fields with the emoticons result don’t show anything. Can anyone help me out to understand why and how to fix this weird behaviour?

Hi So I’d like to create an automation that sends me a list of items off of my airtable but in a pre-formatted way. Currently, I can send an automated email but I have only two options which is list or grid. This is ok for displaying items but it’s not ideal. For context I’m recording coverage from media websites. I can collect this in a grid format but I want to display it in a much more intuitive way. i.e. the end result should be something like News Headline (News Source - xxx UVM’s) - Article Summary Is this something I can do directly in airtable or via a script?

Hello Everyone, I have tried watching some videos to no avail… I have a CRM base with many tables. One is [Leads] which I populate with as many different fields as possible to qualify the company. Since I take the time to populate many fields, I then dig into the company and decide if I want to pass them along to sales but I do not want to loose the history of companies I have researched. So I have a pass/fail check box field that is filtered so only the pass appear in that view. I have this table linked with [Sales] so they can enter into the linked field and simply “pull in” leads from the [Leads] table from the + POP Up window. What I would like to have happen is when the sales team brings that record into the [Sales] table it “disappears” from the [Leads] table so it is no longer available. Hello community, I’m currently migrating from Google Sheets and Glide to Airtable. Glide’s dynamic filters / automatic relations are missed and I’m struggling to recreate those in Airtable. :-/ Each row in my table represents an item ordered from a vendor, items may be part of an order of multiple items from multiple vendors. How can I automatically relate items within one order that are supplied by the same vendor. The purpose is to create a roll up per vendor, for example to send a single automated email to the vendor per order instead of each single item. In Glide I would simply have a formula field combining the OrderID and VendorID, which creates an automatic relation. How can I achieve similar functionality in Airtable? (I’m wondering if this can be down within Airtable or needs to outsourced to Integromat, Zapier…)

Hi, I have what I suspect is a common issue relating to sending Weekly digest emails using AT Automation. I have an automation that sends a weekly email with a list of this weeks sales.Unfortunately, sometimes the sales are 0 for that week but the email (final step) still sends. What is the best way to get around this? I have a few ideas but I’m sure there are probably better ways. Thanks Jason

Hi all, Is there an automation set up that can compare two tables? I have a list of records in one table (Main List) and a list of records in another table (Startup List) and would like to check if a record in the Startup List alreadt has an entry in the Main List; and if yes, then link the Main List record to the record in the Startup List. I have tried a few automations, but it keeps creating a new entry in the Main list instead of “finding” the entry in the Main List. (added bonus if I could then update the entry in the Main List with data from the Startup List IF there is an entry already.) Thank you !

Hello All, I have the following script that I use to create links between tables based on the “ID,” which is consistent between the two tables. Typically, I run this script manually every few days or so, but I have recently discovered the “Run a Script” automation, which would completely eliminate the need for manually clicking the “Run Script” button. However, the following script throws an error every time I test the automation (which is when a new record in the “Enrollment” table is created, the script is supposed to run). I’ve gathered that this is an issue with certain functions not being recognized in the automation, however I do not know how to fix this.
