Hi all! I’m developing a script that triggers when a new row is added to a table (it makes HTTP call to retrieve more data, and add to the missing columns). I’m currently using “When record is created” as a trigger, and it works well in cases where the entire row is added to the table at the same time through other automations, or copy-paste. My problem is with written inputs. So if a user writes the data manually, the script triggers too soon, before all the columns are filled in, thus with only partial inputs to my HTTP call. What’s the best way to overcome this? Intuitive I thought the trigger would work so that when a user is adding the row, it fires only when the focus goes away from the added row. Hi. I’ve been racking my brain for hours with something that was supposed to be simple. I have a tab called “customers” with my customers’ name and phone number. on this tab there are two columns that are the registration and name of the last barber who attended them. The calls are registered in the “Schedules” tab I would like that with each new appointment, the registration and name of the last barber who made the service to be changed. The common key between the two tables is the customer’s phone number. Can someone help me ?

Help please! I created a ‘Create Record’ automation with the following trigger: When a record matches conditions in table 1, it creates a record in table 4. (Works Fine) The problem is with the record it CREATES in table 4. It’s doing exactly what I want when it runs the test, but when I create a NEW record in table 1 that matches the conditions (triggering the action of creating the record in table 4), it’s filling in the field in table 4 with ONLY the first letter of the word(s) it’s supposed to be inserting. I cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong :weary: Any help is so appreciated!!!

Hi! I’m trying to set up an automation where when a new record is created in an “Events” table, a script runs that checks whether the event participants are already scheduled for other events at the same time. I know that both @Kamille_Parks and @Jeremy_Oglesby have created scripts that fulfill this requirement (great job by the way!), both of which can be used in the Scripts App, but since both of them require inputs and output tables/headings, they don’t play well with scripts in Automations. Has anyone adapted these scripts to work within an Automation? This would be an amazing feature to have, as it could run in the background whenever someone submits a form for a new event. I’m managing a conference registration process, and have a table of registrants gathered by a form which includes a formula field with names something like 02_SAT_COUNT that shows a 1 or 0 depending on whether the registrant selected a particular session in their registration form. This was created using a formula to see if a particular option was selected in a multiselect field, so it is not using linked records. What I need now is a way to send me an alert when the total number of registrations for a particular session reaches the maximum, so that I can remove that option from the registration form, thereby closing that workshop to further registrations. I have a separate table that lists all the sessions being offered, each using a unique code 02_SAT or 03_FRI that is similar to the one used in the name of my registration formula fields such as 02_SAT_COUNT. I want to make a tv database for ongoing tv shows. as an example “Loki” tv series it’s first season air will finish 14th july 2021. i added in my base. i want to change the select status to “Finish” if 14th july 2021 day come. is it possible?

form to insert record in view information in tab1 view A, will be carrier over to tab 1 view B (1B) ,(using filter to only have wanted info use airtable automation to create new record in tab 2 view A (2A) up to here no problem, all info will be carrier over but when need to update or change information but cant carrier over. -so i use automation trigger " update the from view 1B", tested no problem action update to 2A, but keep having the problem at here. test → record does not exists. -record id = airtable record id how to solve this problem intend is that using the form it will create a new row information. but when need to edit/update the row info on 1A, or 1B, it will sync over to 2A.

Hi Community, I have a table A, which has 3 fields. Field 1 is Name, Field 2 is Role, Field 3 is Skill-Level. Simulated data for Table A: John, Singer, High Michiel, Pianist, Medium Zule, Guitarist, High Table B has 3 fields. Field 1 is Name, Field 2 is Phone Number, Field 3 is Email Address. Simulated data: John, 12345, john@music.com Zule, 67891, zule@music.com Question: is there a way to ensure that when I add any new record in table A, only new records in table A with Skill-Level = High are automatically added to table B? Having combed through Airtable’s functions, I am sensing that this is not possible without using Zapier or Integromat or some JS code but I hope to avoid these options. Please advise, thank you!

Hi Friends Need some help with automations. I`ve created an automation (Nº1) where it creates a new event in GCAL. The problem is that I am also trying to create another automation (Nº2) where if I change in airtable the date and time of the event it will update the date/time in the GCal event created previously in automation Nº1. The issue is that it keeps me sending me failed Thanks

Is there an approved condition before launching contexts from Airtable to Softr or is there a way to have two tables linked so when the context at the first table is approved it can be automatically added to the second table? I couldn’t find any information online, will be grateful if you can help. Thank you!

Hi all, I think there’s a bug with the Automation tests. I’ve recently started using automation to send emails based on statuses. My understanding is that if the automation is set to OFF and I hit Test, it just verifies whether the email would send or not AND gives me a view of what the email content would look like. However, that didn’t happen today. I created a new automation called “Offer: Coach Match” and it was off. I had one row in my table “COACH MATCHES” that I was testing with and I made a few changes and tested both the trigger and the actions a few times. I wasn’t expecting the emails to fire so was surprised when I went into my Gmail inbox and saw: that I had received 2 emails showing the email had fired (I put myself on Bcc); and the user I was testing with had sent me an email saying “FYI - received 3 emails with the same info.”. I feel this is super simple and I’m just not seeing something. If someone could put me out of my misery, it would be much appreciated. I want to send slack notifications when someone fills out a form. One of the fields is long text and asks for detailed description. I wanted to only show a preview of that field in the message. I see the “trim” option there but I don’t know how to actually use it! It’s not doing what I assume it should do. I am selecting + > the field (Description) > Continue > trim (insert) and it doesn’t do anything. When I do the exact same with any of the other properties (length, upper case, lower case, etc) it does react the way I would expect. Hello, We have a problem regarding Airtable automations. The problem concerns the trigger Google Forms, trigger type “When response arrives”. It doesn’t seem to work for us when the spreadsheet is located in a shared drive. However, it works perfectly fine when the spreadsheet is located in a “personal” drive. What should we do to be able to have the spreadsheet in a shared drive? Or is this not possible?

Hey, I’m facing a specific issue in Airtable Automations: Background: I’ve created a automation to do the following: Trigger: Receipt of Webhook Action: Update a Record in Airtable. The trigger is working fine, however the action is continuously failing with the following error: “Received invalid inputs.”. I’ve taken the usual steps of: Re-test the Trigger and then re-try the Action Re-configure the fields to be updated in the Action Check the field types that need to be updated in the action. Does anyone have experience with what could be the issue here? (Screenshot attached)

do I have to get the pay version to get mobile push notification, I had try Monday, clickup, slack, etc, they all do push notification free. Any one confirm this before I decide not to use it. It is a simple solution, not sure why they make this so difficult. charles

I am trying to figure out how I could create an automation that would fill one cell with tags when the new record that I have made consists a certain word. For example I add a product type chair, it would add all the tags that I would use for chair. Is this possible to do in automation or should I try to think of a script? Thanks for the help!

Hello, My company procurement system runs on excel workbooks. One of the tedious tasks is generating a new PO req and filling out the vendor information. I have created a table of approved vendors in Airtable. I would like to add an Airtable button, which when clicked would trigger an automation / integration to populate the excel workbook with the information contained in the vendor record. Can a button be used in that way? Are there any suggestions for the integrations to populate excel? Thanks!

Hey everyone, We use quite a lot of automations, and sometimes it happens that someone can trigger a large number of automations by mistake. I really want to know if there is a way to stop that from happening. Eg. if thousands of automations are triggered together they just stop from triggering altogether till someone approves. Alternatively, only allow a given number of automations to run every hour and get a notification in case such a bursting event happens.
