Sorry if this is a rudimentary ask: wondering if there is a way for me to record the date when a record enters a specific view? I can’t find a way to do it using Airtable automations, so maybe Zapier instead? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m setting up an automation for my team that will send an e-mail for our stakeholders based on a trigger. Right now we already have a few similar automations running, in which the action is the airtable native “Send E-mail”, and it sends an e-mail based off our team’s outlook inbox. Now I’ve noticed that airtable also has an integration with outlook that allows for an action “Send E-mail”. So I’ve been wondering: what’s the difference between sending an e-mail with airtable “send e-mail” and Outlook’s integration (considering that I’ll always use an outlook inbox)? Thanks!

I am using my base to manage inspections. I would like to create an automation that if a record was modified after my last inspection than I get an email sent etc. Both dates are part of one table. I am trying to use a condition if the record is on or after… My choices are only a static date but I don’t see how to use a dynamic option. Any workarounds?

I have started a Twilio account and have their Send SMS app API. I have also created an Automation with a trigger of once per hour and a view that only lists the items that are ready but not notified. I have the Send SMS App set to send a text to only the records in that view. I would like my automation to “call” the Send SMS App and mark all of those records as notified. Is that possible/practical?

Is it possible to send a weekly digest of all records created within that week? If so, how? I was playing around with the automation, but I really don’t see the trigger I am looking for. I am looking for FREE solutions, thanks!

Hi guys, I am looking how to capture the information from a record before it is going to be updated. Scenario: I have two columns 1) {Current location} 2) {Last time location}. Column {Current location} is 3 times per week updated by CSV import. I’m looking how to capture in {Last time location} the values from {Current location} before those are updated so by this to analyze difference between {Current location} and {Last time location}. Real case: Today {current location} is Monaco so {Last time, location} should become empty. Tomorrow {current location} is going to be Paris so {Last time, location} should became Monaco. I saw before on the forum that there is a solution for that and it was used to record Notes like: Column {Comments} and {Global comments} for each line. So the script was working like: When values as text are inserted in {Comments} - those are automatically moved in {Global comments} and merge {Comments} values

Hey so i’m quite new to Airtable (and love it so far!) Hoping someone can help! I want to check if a field has a certain value 24 hours after the created time then send an email if it is that value. I have a formula field with CREATED_TIME() And a Single Select field called “Message Status” with two options: Sent , Received If 24 hours after the created time the Message Status = Sent I want to send an email (to myself as a notification) Is there some kind of automation or script I can use for this?

I have an automation with multiple actions and it’s failing, presumably as action 2 needs to wait a little until action 1 has competed. Is that possible? Here is what I have: Trigger: on ticked checkbox Action 1: copying date and single-select fields to text fields with the same value/name Action 2: find records using the text fields in Action 1 Action 3: update records When I test the automation, it’s successful. When I split this autoamtion into two automations, it works fine. But when I have them sequencially in the same automation, with single trigger, Action 2 fails. It says the fieds in Find Records have invalid filters. I’m guessing the text fields in Action 1 are not yet filled before Action 2 has started to find records. Is that possible? Rgrds, Khuned

Hi, What I want to achieve is this: In Select field I select one of the available values - e.g. (Tom, Ben, John) Based on what I selected, it preloads a text template to another field (Description) E.g. I selected Tom, so it preloads premade text about tom in the description field. Also I want this field to be editable further if I wish to. How to do that? Thank you for your help!

First, here’s what I’m trying to do: I’m working on an inventory for my video game collection. I have some games that are collections of other games. For example, ‘Metal Slug Anthology’ is a collection of 7 different Metal Slug Games. I have a record for the anthology, and 7 other records for the games that it collects. I have one field to show which games the anthology collects, and another field to show which collection the games are a part of. So the anthology shows the 7 games it collects in the ‘Collects’ field, and the 7 games each show that they are collected in ‘Metal Slug Anthology’ in the ‘Collected In’ field. I have long-text field with many words ( I do not know exact number of words, but all of them separated by " "). Is there any possibility to split this field to different words? This script for automation. When the form is submitted with long-text field, the script will create as much records as words in long-text field. Thank you so much

Scripting within an automation, I’ve tried a couple of ways but I can’t get the console log to output across multiple lines. As a work around I can use a table, but it’s kind of annoying that it’s collapsed, and I just want a few lines of console to appear; Any suggestions?

Hey all. I am trying to use Airtable to manage farming schedules. I’m trying to figure out an automation that would create an entry in one of four other tables, whenever I update a status on a primary table. Specifically, I have a primary table with all the seeds I am using, and one of the field types is a single-select with labels [Seeded, Transplant, Finish, Harvest]. I also have several scheduling tables that correspond to each of those labels. The idea then, is that when I set a seed status to “Seeded”, an entry for that seed would be created in the Seeded table, and so on for the other tables. Would a REGEX_MATCH formula work for this? I have zero experience writing up complicated formulas.

I know ho to link some of cells collumns from one table to another and automate these two. But im not sure about this how to do that thibg I have database for my networking and different tables. Hi everyone, I have a pretty simple base and need some of the records to recur daily. Right now I just change the dates on all of them at the end of each day. Is there a simple way to turn a few records into recurring records in Airtable without having to use another tool (such as Zapier etc.)? I’ve seen some solutions but they all seem a bit complicated and I hope there is a new feature that I am not aware of that could make my life easier now :slightly_smiling_face: . I’ve got a flow into a google sheet with clean url, that I would match to same url into Airtable (but those may not be all clean.) In Google sheet my urls are without “/” at the end In Airtable 80% of urls are with " / " at the end, 20 % not. I’m planning to automatically send an email to our customers if the Paid checkbox is ticked, so my trigger event is when the column for the Paid checkbox is updated but I am worried if I accidentally untick the checkbox and customers will receive multiple emails. Is there a way that I could create a warning pop-up that will ask me “Are you sure you want to proceed?” Thanks!

I’ve encountered this problem a number of times now. I have many automations set up for various projects. Seemingly randomly, some of my automations will rapid fire 10-20 emails to the recipients. These “runs” are not shown in the “run log.” It only shows that automation running one time. However, the email recipients receive multiple emails of the same record. It’s a huge problem for us, as we are using these automations to run projects for our clients and I don’t want to spam their email inboxes. Anyone else have this happen to them? I have tried changes my trigger from a “matching conditions” to “entering a view” with a specific filter. No luck. Again, it doesn’t happen every time, only with certain records. At first, I thought maybe it was if the attachment file was too big, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Help please!

One of the bases we have created is to gather feedback from course participants. I have a form designed but the issue is that participants can submit feedback for one of a list of many facilitators. The hope was to be able to create an automation per facilitator so that their feedback can populate a Google Sheet row and then email them to let them know that they have received new feedback. We will definitely have in excess of the 25 automation limit though. The automation I created is intended to search for the specific facilitators name when the form is submitted and then populates their individual Google Sheet. Is there any way that I can create an automation that where I could combine and add in multiple facilitators? Would it work if I just added additional steps for Find Records with one each for each facilitator?
