This seems to easy to not have been answered somewhere; I must be asking the wrong questions. If I send an automated email which includes a column for “Last Modified Date” my column is empty, even when there is a date on the actual table. What do I need to do to fix that? Assuming that’s just one of the quirks of Airtable, will a formula field repeating the data solve the problem? Thanks everyone.

I have an integer from Airtable going to Zapier to use as a filename for a PDF, but the file that comes back to Airtable is named “20201140719%EF%BB%BF.pdf” instead of “20201140719.pdf” It’s some kind of UTF-8 Byte Order Mark or something. I thought it might be a hidden character in the text field in Airtable, so I converted to an integer, but that didn’t fix it.

I am having trouble getting this automation to work. It’s almost there! I have a monthly task list, and after I complete the task for the month, I want it to re-appear with the new due date. Example: “Give dog her medicine on 10/1/2021”. Frequency = 30 days. Once task is complete, add new task for “Give dog her medicine on 11/1/2021”. I have everything working except the date. Can anyone help? I’ve recorded what I’m doing so you can see. It says “Could not convert string to date.” but I cannot get it to work. Thank you!

I have some formula column fields with the following syntax: column_1: checkbox type column_2: formula type with IF statement Everything is working as expect and I see as table results the desired emoticon if is checked or unchecked. The problem occurs when I add those records as grid in the Airtable email automations. I get empty grid values in the email where these formula column fields with the emoticons result don’t show anything. Can anyone help me out to understand why and how to fix this weird behaviour?

Hi So I’d like to create an automation that sends me a list of items off of my airtable but in a pre-formatted way. Currently, I can send an automated email but I have only two options which is list or grid. This is ok for displaying items but it’s not ideal. For context I’m recording coverage from media websites. I can collect this in a grid format but I want to display it in a much more intuitive way. i.e. the end result should be something like News Headline (News Source - xxx UVM’s) - Article Summary Is this something I can do directly in airtable or via a script?

Hello Everyone, I have tried watching some videos to no avail… I have a CRM base with many tables. One is [Leads] which I populate with as many different fields as possible to qualify the company. Since I take the time to populate many fields, I then dig into the company and decide if I want to pass them along to sales but I do not want to loose the history of companies I have researched. So I have a pass/fail check box field that is filtered so only the pass appear in that view. I have this table linked with [Sales] so they can enter into the linked field and simply “pull in” leads from the [Leads] table from the + POP Up window. What I would like to have happen is when the sales team brings that record into the [Sales] table it “disappears” from the [Leads] table so it is no longer available. Hello community, I’m currently migrating from Google Sheets and Glide to Airtable. Glide’s dynamic filters / automatic relations are missed and I’m struggling to recreate those in Airtable. :-/ Each row in my table represents an item ordered from a vendor, items may be part of an order of multiple items from multiple vendors. How can I automatically relate items within one order that are supplied by the same vendor. The purpose is to create a roll up per vendor, for example to send a single automated email to the vendor per order instead of each single item. In Glide I would simply have a formula field combining the OrderID and VendorID, which creates an automatic relation. How can I achieve similar functionality in Airtable? (I’m wondering if this can be down within Airtable or needs to outsourced to Integromat, Zapier…)

Hi, I have what I suspect is a common issue relating to sending Weekly digest emails using AT Automation. I have an automation that sends a weekly email with a list of this weeks sales.Unfortunately, sometimes the sales are 0 for that week but the email (final step) still sends. What is the best way to get around this? I have a few ideas but I’m sure there are probably better ways. Thanks Jason

Hi all, Is there an automation set up that can compare two tables? I have a list of records in one table (Main List) and a list of records in another table (Startup List) and would like to check if a record in the Startup List alreadt has an entry in the Main List; and if yes, then link the Main List record to the record in the Startup List. I have tried a few automations, but it keeps creating a new entry in the Main list instead of “finding” the entry in the Main List. (added bonus if I could then update the entry in the Main List with data from the Startup List IF there is an entry already.) Thank you !

Hello All, I have the following script that I use to create links between tables based on the “ID,” which is consistent between the two tables. Typically, I run this script manually every few days or so, but I have recently discovered the “Run a Script” automation, which would completely eliminate the need for manually clicking the “Run Script” button. However, the following script throws an error every time I test the automation (which is when a new record in the “Enrollment” table is created, the script is supposed to run). I’ve gathered that this is an issue with certain functions not being recognized in the automation, however I do not know how to fix this. When working with automations, how does one cancel edits? What if I don’t want to update an automation because I made a mistake? And when the pop-up asking about changes appears, is there a way to cancel and not apply updates? Thank you!

Hi All, Im not sure if this has been asked before. I tried searching for it but could not find a solution. So here it goes. Im trying to do a simple recurring monthly subscription record. For Example: John is billed every 13th of the month. On his record there is a checkbox, bill date and next bill date. The next billdate is a formula that adds 30 days from the bill date. I have created a view called Monthly. When John makes a payment, the check box will be checked and it will appear on the monthly view. I wanted to uncheck this boc 7 days before the next bill date and how do I update the next bill date so it would add 30 days everytime? Any suggestions?

Hi there, I have a field that shows the date a proposal is sent to a potential client, and I have another field that shows what action needs to be taken as a single select. The idea is that the actionable will show “in progress” in green after the proposal is sent, but once two weeks go by past the date the proposal is sent, I want it to change to “call client”, essentially triggering a follow up action if we haven’t got a signed contract yet. Is there a way to do this? I set up a trigger: when record matches conditions (14 days past date and actionable is in progress) And then when I try to set up the action to update record I can’t seem to select the trigger - it wants me to pick a specific record. But I want this to happen for any record that is past due

Hi All, Am creating automation wherein the user does the following steps 1)fills the form 2)trigger should be created to send mail 3)Once the mail is approved a confirmation required from the mail Yes/No :heavy_check_mark: or :x: 4)based on the above action the next trigger for the creation of a record should trigger. Also for the following mail has been Approved or replied to by :heavy_check_mark: (Approval status field) then the record is entered in the database. Clueless as to how to proceed further. I come from a MS Access database background - albeit its been 20 years… anyway - I thought Airtable - being a relational database - was just the ticket and went ahead and set up 3 tables: faculty (demographics), Textbook Publishers, and the actual textbook requests (made by the faculty). Some request 1 set of a single book, others request multiple books for various grade levels. Once I got my tables set up, and linked the relevant fields, I couldn’t figure out how to create a single form that would allow a faculty member to - a: add their demographic info if not already in, or select from the one’s already entered b: add a publisher contact information, or, select from publishers already entered and c: provide about 8 specific details about a given textbook (including copyright, ISBN#, title, hardcover/paperback/digital etc.) I wound up putting links to each form so if they check the dropdown and the info from the other tables isn’t there

Hi there, I have a simple short text field that I want to monitor for changes. Basically the user inputs a OneDrive Folder Name and I send data to an integromat webhook containing that folder name so that integromat can look up the folder ID and send it back to airtable. However, I am experiencing strange behaviour: When I update the field and type in for example “PWC”, the automation already triggers when I enter “P” but i haven’t fnished entering. Hi, I’m having trouble figuring out how to create a path in Zapier that is true if the “Find Record” action actually finds a record, and false if it doesn’t find a record. Correct me if i’m wrong, but there doesn’t seem the be a “Found record” filter for the paths, Any idea? Example: Trigger Find Record in Airtable based on Trigger Path A) If any record found —> 4. “Action 1” Path B) If no record found —> 4. “Action 2” Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hi, Im trying to trigger am automatic email to go out to contacts once I select it in the fields. The first half of the setup texts fine, but then the second half (the actual email) keeps giving me an error message- see image. My email says it is set up, both in Airtable and in gmail. In this case - specifically - automation. Automation, as we all know, is an up and coming aspect of many Airtable solutions. However, if you have the urgency or need to automate quickly, you probably have the cart in front of the horse; perhaps way out in front of the horse.

Hi there, I run a company that sells an dleases equipment to B2B clients. I have a process where I use a form to input the client info, and their requirements. I also have an app (page designer) that formats the info into a nice looking one page quote. Right now I have to: Fill in the form Go into the app Save the app as a pdf Open my email account Compose an email and attach the quote Is there an automation I could do that- As soon as I finish the form, it generates an email including the page designed pdf as an attachment? Hi all- We are looking for a way to build a template for our client to send them a monthly “Progress Report” in a dashboard fashion. I’m looking to have the data populate from our spreadsheet into the airtable template. Has anyone done this before? Also, if this is possible, once this is built-in Airtable is it shareable to our client if they don’t have an Airtable account? How does this work so they can get the data?
