Hello, I’d like to create an automation that adds to the existing contents of a multiple-select field in a set of records that meet certain conditions. So far, I only seem able to create an automation that replaces the contents of a multiple-select field. Can any one advise as to whether this is possible, and how? Thanks! Brooke

Hello, guys I have trouble with automation. When I use ‘Google Calendar: Create Event’ action, and ‘All Day Event’ option is checked, I see unexpected notification options in created calendar event, instead of All-day event notifications I see notifications for not All-day events. Hello all, having some issues with some automations I created and needing assistance! 1st Automation type is triggered by when a record matches conditions for the field “follow up date” is on or before tomorrow to send an email reminder as the action. The goal is to have the email reminder send on date to be sure followed up in timely manner. 2nd Automation type is also triggered by when a record matches conditions for when specific fields are not empty and assigned to a specific collaborator to send an email alert to that collaborator to follow up. Originally all of these worked fine, the tests ran successfully and we received the emails for a few weeks and now nothing is coming through. I am not sure if something was changed or if I need to start from scratch again. There have been no errors or alerts that something is wrong. Maybe I do not have the right conditions triggered or should be using a different type of automation? Any assistance is greatly apprecia

I’ll do my best to explain this as well as I can. I have a table with users and a table with invoices Depending on how many users are active (linked) on an invoicing record the price changes. In most scenario’s (99%) all users will need to be on an invoice. Currently, I have set up a form to create a new invoice (a new record in the invoicing table) that requires a manual select of all the users. Ideally (for now) I would like to automatically add all user in the user table to the record on the invoicing table (linked). I have been looking into the ‘update record’ automation but I can’t seem to find a way to auto-select linked records in there. Is there a way this can be done?

Hi! I have an interesting problem I’m trying to solve for. I have users who belong to groups and each group has a quarterly fee (can change). When the group owner creates a fee, I need to create a balance for each of the users in the group based on their percentage ownership. They’ll need to be able to pay the fee, then be marked as paid. My first thought was that the group owner could create the transaction and I could use automations to increase a balance tied to each user, but I couldn’t figure that part out. Any ideas? Hello, I’m new. I have one table that has all my tasks. With a field called “Task Status”. I have another table containing People With the fields of “First Name” and “Email”. Which is linked to My Task table, under the name field name of “Business Contact.” I’m trying to create automation when I make a task status change in my table. Airtable automatically sends an email to only the person who is assigned to, under “Business Contact”. So far no luck.

Hello @ll, I’m not a programmer and I’m a bit lost creating my first script. I would appreciate any tips or help: I have a table for product stock, with several fields but quantity is the most important. In another table, there is a link to this first table item’s name and I created a form to record in/out’s. How would be the script so when you fill the form with a +/- quantity it’s add/susbtracted to the first table quantity field? Thank you so much, Angel

Hi community - I have a really simple automation configured that when a form is submitted to the “Onboarding” table 2 records are created. 1 - A contact in the People table is created (works fine from form details only 1 record created) 2 - An Organization is created in the Organizations table. Hey guys, I’m trying to develop an app to keep track of employees schedule (entrance and exit hour). With that, build an application to show the employes that are working and absent. I have two tables: The table were I have the information of the employees. The table of attendance, in this table a field is link to table 1. My question is, can I make a formula that return TRUE if the worker is in table2 (which is filtered to only show the records that have the date of TODAY), and FALSE if it isn’t. Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read my comment. I’m using Airtable to create meetings between people. I have a database “members” with people information (mail, phone number) and another one “meetings” in which I have people meetings expectations. I’m trying to see how I can send an email to a person to propose a meeting with another one and if the person accepts, to send a google calendar invitation. Right now I’m thinking of this: Add a linked record to add a person record in a field in the “meetings” db and send an automated email to the person (I need the email person and the meetings expectations). If the person accepts the meeting, then I’ll use another record with a checkbox and then send a automated google calendar invitation with both people email addresses. It’s confusing for me if I’m processing the automation tools in the right way, what do you guys think? Thanks!

I also want this email to contain an attachment that is always the same (PDF file), that is not in my airtable. I cannot find any easy solution. Does someone have one ? Thank you Franck

Hey guys! I was working on syncing Calendly with Airtable through Google Calendar to create a new event in my view. I realized I needed to include a company name for easier tagging so I went back into Calendly and added a company name in the questionnaire. I filled it out as a test and want to retrigger the data so I could add that field to the automation. Similar to how in Zapier you can find new records to test with. Is this possible? I tried creating a new automation to find the new data with included the company name but it pulled the same old record. Thanks!

Hi. I’d like to create a custom action and allow other bases to use it. Can I do that by building an app, or do I need to talk to the dev team?

I’ve created an automation that works great in two of my bases. I just replicated in a third base and it won’t work. It gives the error “Updating the record failed due to insufficient permissions.” I can’t find any differences in the automation at all. I’m completely baffled. Any idea what insufficient permissions means?

My automation’s status is “off” in the list, but when I edit the automation, the button is toggled “on” and I can’t change it or delete the automation (because it says it is on). It’s the same in browser or on desktop. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I’m new to airtable and could really need some help. I’m trying to automate a flow where an email is send to a client every time a new attachment is added to an existing record. For that purpose i’m using the build-in automation feature. The trigger I’m using is “When a record is updated”, View “Grid view”, and Fields “Attachment”. The action i’m using is the Gmail: send email. All this works fine. My problem is that is sends the email twice when I upload a new attachment? I have tried the same setup with Slack, and also here is triggers the actions twice. What am I doing wrong? Any help is much a

For work I would have to automate our airtable, we use it to log projects and each project has a different supervisor. Now i would have to automate the system to send automatic emails whenever something changes in the “row” of that specific supervisor. I tried this via the conditions trigger with: WHEN supervisor is X OR … basically every “column” So that when something is updated for their project that specific person gets an email. However, this does not seem to work? As it only gives an update when only 1 field changes and not when for example 3 fields get updated accross multiple projects or even just 1? How can I fix this? I have just discovered that the automation for when “record enters a view” will only trigger the first time that it enters into that particular view, for both AT’s new automations and Zapier. Bit of a nightmare tbh! Is this the same for the automation triggered when a “field matches a condition.” My particular use case is for example using the kanban to monitor a workflow whereby a card may need to re-enter into a particular single select status (eg. imagine there was a status of ‘pending’ and I wanted to the re-trigger an automation to notify the right individuals each time it entered that status via slack) I cannot even find a workaround using the automation for “any field updates” and a last modified field. I’m looking to import and categorize my amazon purchases. I have all of my purchases in a spreadsheet that I downloaded from Amazon (after I requested it). It lists each item by ASIN (a unique ID# for each product) but it does not include the category (e.g., Home and Kitchen, vs. Baby vs. Food, etc). I can search by ASIN on a third party website (https://amazon-asin.com/) and it will give me the category. Does anyone know how to write a script that can go to a webpage and retrieve the category text? I’m not good with writing code so curious if this is possible. And if so, can someone assist me or point me in the right direction? Thanks so much

Hello everyone, It may sounds stupid but I have an issue to sync cancelled events (Calendly) to my Tickets Table (Airtable) via Zapier. Basically, when someone cancels their attendance on Calendly, I don’t know how to change their status from ‘Booked’ to ‘Cancelled’ on Airtable via Zapier. I am using Calendly for my ticketing/attendance management. I have different kinds of recurring events, with different times/dates, with different users booking/cancelling their ticket. On Airtable my ticket table has a single select column called ‘Status’ so I would know when someone has booked or cancelled their attendance. The problem is I don’t know how to make Zapier updates the status column automatically from Calendly when it’s a cancellation (I know how to create a record when someone books though).

Hello, i have this error message, when my automations try to create google calendar meeting from record. Cell has “date” value All test pass. The only way to sync is duplicate existing record… and it’s working.
