Hi there, :wave: I’m hoping someone could help me out there with an automation issue. So here it is : I’m recruting people. So I manually create a new record in a TABLE A. This record contains several information : email, name, contact date… I’ve also created a “single select field” called “Document received ?”. The choice is between YES or NO. An Airtable form is sent to the candidate. It helps me gathering datas such as : ID Card, Licence driving, email, phone number, etc… Then, the form appears in a view : in a TABLE B. Here is the problem : When a new form is received in TABLE B, I want to automatically update the record that matches the name (or the email) of the candidate in TABLE A. So I want the field “Document received ?” to automatically turn “YES”. PS : I’ve created a “LINK TO” field in table A and

Because you can’t purchase more Automations on the Pro Plan in the event you run out (like integromat/zapier), what happens to your workflow? Is everything halted? Upgrading to enterprise would not be an option due to extreme price difference. For example - Say I have my automations set for my entire workflow working great, but I accidentally trigger an automation that uses a ton of unnecessary automations… oops… my fault and understand and wish I can buy more to pay for that mistake, but I can’t. Now I am out of automations and almost have an entire month left with zero automations :frowning: and all my workflows are stopped. I just want to find out the “what if” and hope never end up in that situation :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks.

Hello all, I am pretty new to using Airtable and have my first issue : I set an automation “when records matches conditions” → “Send Email”. I have the right table and the right conditions. What I would like to do : there is 4 records that are currently matching my condition (based on a due date to come in 45 days) but the email only sends the information on the first record and NOT the other 3. How can I do to make sure that my email includes the other 3 records ? Or at least, that 3 other emails get sent If I can’t put together the info on my 4 records. The idea would be to have a dynamic alert system when a record matches the due date to come in 45 days. I hope this is clear enough :slightly_smiling_face: Thx

Hi Everyone, I have a scenario I want to try and do without too many external services (Zapier/Integromat) I want an Automated Schedule to run, search for all records that have a Value in the “Prefered Hour” field that matches the hour the Automation is run, and then updates that record. i.e Schedule runs at 11:00, finds a record that has a value of 11:00 in the “Prefered Hour” filed and updates it. I have tried to use a Formula filed with Now() to extract the time so I can compare but, with mixed success. Any ideas?

I’m trying to use an automation to populate a table with values pulled from newly created records in another table. This seems like it should be the most basic function of automations using the “when a record is created” trigger and corresponding “create a new record” action. However, as best I can tell, because Airtable considers a record “created” BEFORE you begin populating it, it will successfully create a new row in the related table, but won’t actually fill it with any value (except the record ID). I can achieve the desired effect using the “When a record enters view” trigger, which confirms that there isn’t some data type error (and in fact I’ve created rudimentary two-column tables with only single line text to eliminate variables). However, this is a clumsy solution, especially as “when a record is created” is currently one of two possible triggers. Hey there, I’m working on a form where you can lookup resources in a linked table. Each resource has a name and URL associated with it. The goal is to send the names and links together in an email but… HERE’S WHERE I’M STUCK: I am only able to add the name—not the URL—to email automations. I currently have three single-select fields in the form (B)—which link to another table (A). This is because multi-select only produced the first field in the email automation. So, a user selects the resource by name in B, which links to A (Name A), and populates the field (Name B). A second field in B refers to Name B, looks up the link and populates Link B. It all works like butter in the table but… I can only select Name B in the automation.The fields for Link B are empty. Any advice or wisdom would be much appreciated.

Hello, I’m setting up my first Airtable Automation where I have two fields: Date and Status. If a Date field is on or more than 7 days old (for instance, if today is January 21, I would need it to pull from dates that are January 14 or older), I need the Status field to say “Old.” For dates that are within the past week, I need it to say “New.” When I set up the Automation, I get a failed test, with “Received invalid inputs” as the error message. I have a feeling it has something to do with my Record ID not matching up, but I don’t know what to do there and I’m having trouble finding documentation on it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I’m trying to use an automation with a script to create an datestamp that be overridden. This is being used for.a microgreen farm and there are times where we will enter new plantings hours after the actually planting and the records need to be back dated. Normally just the current datestamp will work but there must be the ability of override it. I will also be doing this with a number of other values from a linked table. Here is the code for the script. There are ~7k records and the execution time if 17-18 seconds which is not acceptable. Is there anything I can do to speed this up? Hi! I am using an airtable automation to move certain data from the record to a different table, then I would like to automatically delete the record in the original table. Can I take that last step using Automations? I couldn’t figure out how. Apologies if this is well documented, I couldn’t find it though! Thanks!

I’m using airtable to track candidates interviewing for jobs. When a candidate is ‘pending’ they are in one column. When they move to the ‘interview’ stage, I want to move them to a new column. Initially, I hoped to simply ‘drag and drop’ the record to a new field. Can’t figure out how to do it. So then I thought I’d make an automation to trigger this. I want to automate the following: “Alex Smith” is under the column “Pending”. He’s now been invited to an interview, so I type his name under the column “Interviewing”. When I type his name under “Interviewing”, I want this to trigger a delete of his name from the previous “pending” column. Is this possible? If so, HOW? Thanks!

This seems so simple. What am my missing? AUTOMATION TRIGGER When a record matches conditions When “Publish Date” is not empty (this test runs successfully) ACTION (see screenshot) When I enter a publish date I’d like the Status field to update from READY TO UPLOAD to PUBLISHED. The test runs successfully but the record does not update to PUBLISHED. I noticed if I enter a single select option in the automation that DOES NOT exist it will add that to the dropdown list of options but still won’t actually update the record with the new choice. So obviously I’m not entering something right for it to actually change the status option. Or maybe that’s not possible based on my looking around for an answer. If it isn’t possible, could I accomplish this with Integromat? And if yes, could

I’m creating an automation with the “send an email” action (through Gmail). But I can’t seem to get a certain field in the email. Are the types of fields restricted? Only SIngle line text are possible? I don’t see any values when selecting the field after clicking the blue and white plus-sign to add values in from the triggering record. Hi, I was wondering, if it is possible to automatic update status field. I got a base with a cell call “support” and another cell call “due date”, and i want that the status cell updates according with these conditions: When “support” is fill update status to complete When “support” is not fill update status as in progress. When the “due date” is reach and the “support” cell is blank mark as incomplete. Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to create an automation involving attachments. When the attachment gets uploaded into the one table (Incidents and in Incident Report/Doc… column), it will appear in another table (Tenants and in Incidents column) Trigger: When record matches conditions Table: Incidents Condition: Incident Report/Doc is not empty Test Run: Successful Action: Update Record Table: Tenants Record ID: (this is where I’m stumped). I choose Name as that is the common field between the two tables. Field: Incidents I have linked the fields together but it adds additional steps so I am hoping to eliminate that aspect.

Hi! Thanks for a great platform. I’m trying to send an automated email when a record is updated. When I put a single/multi select field in the email, it returns blank. It doesn’t happen with single text or dates and I wonder what’s the problem. Any assistance would be great!

I’m trying to figure out how to automate mostly what has been a highly manually process. I’ve been tasked with researching 100+ companies for a common set of data (e.g., revenue, headcount, company overview, location, headcount, etc., and have found it is literally just me googling company and usually populating information from google or at most clicking on a link or two + going to the company’s website. There has to be a better way but I’m so new to this tool and no code / low code solutions. Anyone willing to nudge me to some tools I might be able to use to save time?

Hi I have an automation of airtable email sending when a record enters a view. It suddenly went wrong this morning and sent again all the records. I checked the last modified date and time of those records and the records were not edited. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi - I am running a business where we rent machines to customers. Each record corresponds to a certain machine. We then have a “status” field with either rented or not-rented. For each machine, this field is then updated manually whenever the status of the machine changes (from “rented” to “not-rented” for example). What I want, is to know at the end of the month, how many days each machine was rented during that month. Would truly appreciate some help. Thanks.

I just created an automation to check for a due date coming up in the next month and send an email reminder. How often will an automation run? It’s triggered to look for a due date in the next month, but how often will that be checked? If a notification is sent that Andrea is due for a test in the next month, will this automation continue sending emails during the next month until I change my due date? Is there a way to run this manually for all of my existing data?

Hi there - I’ve built an automation that the first automation will update records to a table. That automatically pulls matching values from another table. I want to access the matching values for the second automation without needing to write a script to do what’s being done automatically. (or is this the only way)? Process: Get input values. (automation) Sort those and put sorted values into another field. (script) Look-up matching values for this set (just how my airtables are set-up) Run second script and provide an output based on the above three steps. I have tried doing a selectRecordsAsync after I’ve done the updaterecordsAsync but it still isn’t working – my values are undefined despite values being in the field. What’s the most efficient way to do this? Help!

I have a Scenes Table with records listing each scene (Scene Name) to be shot for a video (Video Title). Once the Scene Names are all listed they go to a Shots Table where shots for each scene are created. In the Shots Table each record is based on the Shot Number. I have a checkbox field (Shot?) that I check when that shot has been filmed. Filmed scenes get sent to an Archive View when that checkbox field is checked. What I’d like is an automation that checks my (Shot?) field in the Scenes Table when all shots for that scene have been checked in the Shots Table and entered the Archive view.

Hello Community! When sending a form, is there any way I can have users pick from a list, without necessarily looking at all the options? Maybe they can type until they see their name? But they can’t look at the other list of clients. Thanks!

Hi All I have a table that manages all projects in estimating each record has a “Received Date” field and a “Due Date” field these are manual field that each estimator has to fill out when when they receive a new project to bid on, and i have built some automation based on the due date. New here my problems, since this is a manual field, sometimes estimator might forget to fill in the due date field, and then any associated triggers won’t work, so i want to create an automation that if the Due date field is left blank, it should automatically be filled in with a due date of one week from when the record was created. i have tried to play around with the automation, but i couldn’t figure this one out how to generate a date of onw week from when the record was created… This is my Table Here is Part 1 of the Automation
