Good day.The idea is this. Someone fills out a form, to request a certificate/license and by the end, they are automatically assigned a certificate #.I have two tables, one "Recipient" where the form exists, and another table that will have uploaded certificate numbers provided by someone else.I have the two tables linked so that when that record is generated by the form, it will automatically pull from the second table, the certificate table, a certificate number. As each form is received, a certificate number is applied, not generated, as they are 'hard' coded in the second table :). Does that make sense?
I have set up a slack message to kick off a workflow that requires manual input. The slack message has multiple buttons that once clicked check the appropriate field in the Airtable. The problem is that once one of those buttons are clicked, all of them disappear in the slack message. How do I make it so that once one button is clicked the "Updated in Airtable" message only shows for that button; allowing for the other buttons to be clicked?
Hello,I'm using Airtable Automations and want to create an IF condition based on the Outlook event creator. However, this section is locked, and I see a message saying "No valid nested option."How can I unlock it?
Hi, I am a complete beginner with Airtable. I am managing a pool of freelance artist and thouhgt that Airtable could be very useful. I would like to have a form for new artist to submit their skills and skill level for each skill, which then automatically populates in my Artist' list. I know how to create a form and collect various basic information, including skills. But, I don't know how I can let artist choose a skill level for each skill they have. Lets say the artist choose "Photohop, and Premiere". I would like for them to be able to choose their proficiency for each software or skill.I could simply create 3 versions of each skill and assign Expert, Mid, and Beginner. but that doesn't sound efficient, and I thought Airtable is about efficiency. So if you look at my screenshot, what I would think I would need, is a non-static field (look-up) that assigns a value inside the Artists card .Is this doable?
I have a calendar view and would like to send emails to the persons in one of the record’s fields. That is, if the value in the ‘Clerk’ field is Peter, I’d like to send an email to Peter. Additionally, I’d like to send emails 2 weeks prior to the event, 1 week prior to the event and then 2 days prior to the event. Is this possible?
HiThe Find Records action has a bug.I have an automation when a new record is created, use the 'Find Records' action to find a record in another table and link them together. Very straightforward and works. However if the new record created has empty fields for the conditions of the lookup, it returns ALL the records in the other table when it shouldn't return any records since an empty field does not equal to a non empty field. In the screenshots you can see that the record selected to test automation has an empty email and phone number field. But the Find Records actions returned all the records in the lookup table. This is a bug and not the first time it has been raised as mentioned in this community post:https://community.airtable.com/t5/automations/when-source-is-blank-automation-links-all-records-from-another/td-p/176602?utm_source=chatgpt.comBut the solution in that post doesn't work in my instance as I need to use the conditional actions for another process. This seems like a simple
hi everybody,I have an airtable actionable message in slack working... it gives me 2 buttons, which then correctly update a slack record. However, after I click a button in Slack, it always changes to then say "Processing..." This never changes... leaving our users unsure if the action actually ran (it did).I have tried with a new table in airtable. Not sure what else to try... Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to solve/troubleshoot?? Thank you
Hi everyone!Im using automations to send updates of records (a list of 5 at a time) to a slack channel... I have the data I want to showing up correctly, but I'm wondering if there is any way to customize the style/spacing of the output of the "List of Records" in the message block? For example, I want field names to be bolded, to have the field and data on the same line (instead of next line), and make a different separator than "-----------------------".The "List of Records" content option in the Messages block has no options to customize that I can see (screenshot)... Maybe there is another solution though? Wanted to ask!!
I am trying to build an automation that updates a record if the status dropdown = Offer Accepted. If Offer Accepted is selected from the dropdown, I want the automation to update a checkbox field (to no longer being checked).
I have 2 tables setupThe first one has a single select field with animals names followed but a long text field which should be related to that animal. The second table has the name of the animals in a field followed but a long text field with some information.I would like an automation that triggers every time a new record is added to the first table and that updates the long text field on that table with the information from the second table for that specific animal. The thing is that the update should only be made when the single select field from the first table is set to NO. When the choice is YES it doesn't need to fill the long text field from the first table.I know how to do it creating different automation for each field but I wonder if I can do that for all fields with just one automation. Thanks for the help 🙂
I have an Airtable automation that finds a list of records and then send a Slack message that includes this list. When I send via email I get the option to include grid or list, but when I use Slack the only option is list...which I really don't like the look of.I found some older threads on here asking about this but it seems like there's no good solution. Someone mentioned forwarding the grid message from email to Slack, but I don't like how it shows up in Slack so not an option for me.Any other ideas on workarounds?

Hello, I am using Airtable for a long time integrating with N8N.I have one issue.I am using Airtable for store data. This data have to be processed in specific time.Client can set process time in airtable process_time column.I want to make trigger at that time and process date in N8N.Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do for a consistent system?
I am attempting to use a form to update a record in the existing table. So an account executive fills out a form with the new terms and rate amounts for 2025 2026 and 2027I tried coping a workflow shared by a community member (https://community.airtable.com/t5/other-questions/updating-existing-records-problem/td-p/187594) where they made a new table from the form and then updated the old table but that isn't working for me. I think it was from Consultant @ The Time Saving CoBefore that I was bypassing the second table and that did not work either. Does anyone have a workflow similar to what I'm looking for they could share a screen shot of:Here is how far I got: Thanks!
Owner asked for a place to view all marketing assets. Mainly graphics at the moment. I added fields for ratings and feedback notes. Is it possible to display assets in my interface while also allowing him to adjust ratings and add notes? Otherwise it seems creating and giving him access to a gallery view is the best approach to gather his feedback.
Hi Everyone.I am trying to create a two way sync with automations and running into a few issues. Here is the overall scenario:Table 1 is named "Jobs". It has a long text field called "Job Notes". Table 2 is named "Action Items" and it also has a long text field named "Job Notes". I want the following to happen: Whenever someone updates the "Job Notes" in either the "Jobs" table OR the "Action Items" table I want it to be synced both ways so no matter if what table you are working on, the notes are the same within a moment of changing either side. I did the following that seemed to work until we tested it in real time and the dual syncing at the same time was creating alot of issues for my team who use these two tables. As they corrected typos / etc. it would erase some of the last parts of their sentences due to the syncing overiding eachother (at least that's how I undertood what was happening). On the Action Items table I made a linked field to the Jobs table primary field
I'm trying to solve two interrelated questions, but first a prologue:Current Setup:I have built a project portal on softr using airtable as the data source.Presently each project has 18 tasks all added to the project by an automationMy project members are split into two groups (admin & client)I have a project field that identifies the project "primary contact" in the even there is more than one project member on the client side.Automation currently assigns the first 10 tasks to the primary contact upon creation of the project recordA different automation adds the remaining 8 tasks to the project as unassignedThe unassigned tasks are a mixture of tasks to be assigned to the client at a later stage and the admin. The admin tasks were not getting assigned in advance because I had not figured out a good way to do this but a recent suggestion from @Mike_AutomaticN will remedy that 😉Task status options are presently: To do, in progress, Done, Skipped/NAMy fir
I have a table called Task template, which contains a 18 records of all the tasks I want assigned to a project. I have been using a simple automation that runs in airtable when a new project record is detected. The automation finds all the tasks in the template table then loops through the resulting list and creates new tasks in the task table matching each of the template tasks. This all works fine. This evening I added a step to set a field in each newly created task to be the assignee based on a field in the project table that initiated the automation. This works too... but sets ALL 18 tasks with the same assignee, and this is not what I want. Each task has a field called "system task ID" which is a text field containing value 001 - 018. The intent was to make these tasks referenceable in the softr platform I am using with this data. The challenge I need to figure out is how can I set the automation to set the assignee ONLY on newly created tasks with a system id of 001 - 010?Bel
A coworker accidentally hit the unsubscribe button on an automated email. How can we get her re-subscribed? We looked at the notification settings on her account, and they are both checked. She still receives no alerts from the automations I set up. Please help!
I am using airtable with softr for a client portal, and I and trying to configure and automation to send and an email to the portal admin alerting them that a user has logged in for the first time. I have a "users" table in airtable which maps to the "users" table in softr. I have last modified turned "on" in air table. Softr maintains it's own "last seen" field which I have mapped into a matching date field in air table. The basic logic is that the "last seen" field is empty until a user logs in. So I would think that I would just need to trigger when the "last seen" is part of the "last modified" history? But this alone would result in an email going out every time the last seen field changes which would be every time the user logs in.I only care about the FIRST time, so I would need a way to check if the "last seen" field was previously empty, then compare it to the current field contents. I just do not understand where I would get the "previous" value from?I am open to doing t
I have a form where users will enter product details, among those details is the "Field Date", I am trying to set up automation so that when they submit a form and enter a new record, it takes the "Field Date" and subtracts 11 days from it and then enters the new date into the "Feedback Due" column for that product.I have a TRIGGER set to recognize when the "Field Date" is not empty. My ACTION is set to Update Record, then in the "Feedback Due" I am trying to use DATEADD({Field Date}, -11, 'days') to calculate the new date.I just get "Field "Feedback Due" cannot accept the provided value: Could not convert string to date."Both columns are set to the same date format. I am new to airtable and would appreciate any help anyone can provide to get me going in the right direction.
Hi All, I'm new on using Airtable Automations and have been trying to sync content with a Google Spreadsheets file.Once using the "When record update" trigger type, I've observed that each "enter" command made by the user when typing on a specific cell/field in Airtable creates a new row in the GSheet tab.My question is: how to assure that the GSheets will reflect and store only the final status, i.e., the most up-to-date content in Airtable?Rks in advance for your thoughts!
Hey there - What I'm Trying to Accomplish:I'm building an Airtable automation that extracts email addresses from multiple fields in my Contacts table and creates individual records in a Master Email List table. Each email should be stored as a separate record, along with the corresponding Contact Name and an "Email Type" field (Primary, Partner, Referral, or Connection). This will allow me to export clean, deduplicated email data into HubSpot for email campaigns. My Setup:Table: Contacts (source table)Fields:Contact NameFirst NameLast NameEmail (Primary Email)Partner EmailReferral EmailConnection EmailTable: Master Email List (destination table)Fields:EmailContact NameEmail Type (Primary, Partner, Referral, Connection)Automation Steps (Attempted):1️⃣ Trigger: "When a Record Matches Conditions"If any of the email fields (Primary, Partner, Referral, or Connection) is not empty, trigger the automation.2️⃣ Find Records Action:Find all records in Contacts where
Hi All,I'm migrating from Smartsheet to Airtable for Project Management and one thing that I am struggling with, that we rely heavily on for project management, is date / task dependencies. Setting this up in Smartsheet is easy and intuitive, requiring no formulas.Desired workflow:I want to set the Start Date, the Duration and task Dependency so that, if the Duration or Date(s) of a task change, the downstream tasks, as denoted in the Dependency field, will auto-magically update. I have reviewed this video several times and it makes sense and seems easy, but when I configure my fields following the instructions in the video, it does not work as expected.Set up:Table has a Duration, Start Date, End Date and Dependency fields.Dependencies are enabled and set up like the following:The table looks like the following:Expectation:In the Table image above, I would expect that, since the 'Get PB' task is dependent on the 'Get Bread' task, Start Date for 'Get PB' will begin on 12/28/
Hello. I am a dog trainer with multiple board and train dogs that stay with me for various programs I offer. I teach the dogs in phases, and would like to keep track of where each dog is in their progress. Can I have an automation where if a record is marked as "done", the notes field is updated with new text with the next steps? The dogs are always in different places in training, and my brain feels so torn trying to mentally keep up with who has mastered what skill. I just want a way to visually see things as well as help hold me accountable to follow steps without skipping any, as the dogs start to blur together and sometimes I go too fast/slow (I'm on limited time, the dogs need to be ready in 2, 3, or 4 weeks depending on program!)
