Hi all! pretty familiar with Airtable however having some issues figuring out best way to accomplish my goal: build an on call sheet for my maintenance team. ever week of the year a different tech is assigned to be “on call”. For example: 1st week of Jan: Darius 2nd week of Jan: Steve 3rd week of Jan: Al 4th week of Jan: Martin 1st week of Feb: Al 2nd week of Feb: steve 3rd week of Feb: Darius 4th week of Feb: Martin and so on and so forth for the entire year. Goal would be to have a base that i could easily sort/group by Tech AND month. Additionally, show a calendar view that could show each tech listed for each week. make sense? can Airtable accomplish this? thanks!
Is there a way to turn off when you click on an empty row that a new Row is automatically created? I want to just be able to click the + and I get a new row. I keep getting empty rows.
First of all I would like to say thank you for everyone contributing to the Airtable Community, I have been saved hundreds of time by the ideas and solutions posted here. Now, I would like to pose a problem I’ve been dealing with: I’m creating a data base to keep record of project ideas pitched by a team. I want to be able to prioritize ideas from people who have already suggested something before AND had their idea chosen for further development. I managed to indicate all people that already submitted an idea thanks to this: Can I find unique values and put them in a column? Now I would like to have a field indicating if that person has had an idea picked for developement before, but I’m stuck and can’t find a solution. I have an array with all the people who have submitted an idea before, now I need to know the status of these ideas. I believe the way to do this is create an array for each recurrent user with all values from the idea status column so I could verify if any status is ‘
I’m an old Oracle DBA. My first day using Airtable and I like it already. Here’s my issue. I’ve been building my base creating tables and demo data to test my design. When linking tables I included the fields that would provide context in helping me select the right record to link. Looking back, I should have included a few more link fields to give my grids/views better context as well. How can I add these now without dropping/recreating these links and all my data? Any help would be much appreciated. Mike P.
Greetings! I’ve looked everywhere, but can’t find a way to jump from one letter to another in a column. I’ve just started a large research project, and have 1,110 entries, based upon LAST NAME. It would be fantastic if I could easily jump from where I am in the table to the beginning of the letter a new entry begins with, since I need to check for duplicate entries (not simply based on the last name…it’s more complicated than that). I’m familiar with the search function, of course, but that takes FAR too much time. I can use the keyboard shortcuts to get to the top or bottom of the chart in a flash, but that doesn’t help me much when I have to look up and see what I have (if anything) for Molly Mergatroyd! Thanks in advance for any ideas you can offer!!
Hi, I have a long list of contractors with different work experience, skills, availability, preferences, etc… I’d like to create a form that a client can complete when sending in a new project request that will then provide a list of the most suitable contractors for said project. Has anyone got any ideas on how this could work either on Airtable or with API? Thanks in advance for your help!
I’ve added new question fields to my existing gravity form and I want to edit my Zapier zap and my Airtable base to show us the new fields/responses. Are there instructions on how to do this?
I am trying to set up my inventory to track shirts given to my employees. I can’t get the look up and/or roll up feature to work. Here’s what Im looking for… TYPE OF SHIRT | SIZE | QTY ORDERED | QTY ASSIGNED TO EMPLOYEE | CURRENT INVENTORY If I could get here I’d be set. I don’t know why i can’t get the look up feature to work or the rollup but please help!
I want to have one base that uses a same customer record in different ways. I have an “Intake” table that I’m hoping can auto populate my “Outreach” table for consumer outreach. So, what’s the easiest way to set it up so that these two tables will talk to each other? The records will be the same, so maybe I have to design the base with this in mind? If someone populates data into the Intake table, I’d like some of that data to auto-populate into the Outreach table.
I already receive submissions to my Airtable via a form, and would like to allow submitters to pick a date from a list of available dates from a calendar field. Once someone reserves or picks a date and submits the form, that date should be removed from the list of available dates. I would also like to allow people to reserve dates up to 3 weeks into the future. Calendly already supports this functionality (and in fact I have a Calendly for this purpose) but would prefer to be able to collect submissions from a single Airtable form. Is this possible?
How i design a base when i send data from kodular ,the new data is inserted at top …i mean 1 number row…any one can help me
Hi, I understand the idea of normalizing a database - and I see that I can create a column type for a drop down list. Why use a drop down list instead of a linked table? Is there a configuration/structural reason to do so, or is it just easier?
Hello I’ve a base to add questions, question can be text or image? How to make this field? Am using airtable as db for questions then use the api to sync with ios app
I have a table titled “BIO” where I’ve made records for each player on a football team. I also have a “REPORT CARD” table that includes a record for each player and a field for each player’s grade and a field for the players GPA dependent on their grades. This GPA is used as part of a disciplinary points system for the team. Points are stored in a separate “POINTS TRACKER” table. I’ve created a ZAP so that when a new record is added to the BIO table, a new record for that specific player is also added to the other tables. My problem is this: I used a linked field to connect the REPORT CARD and POINTS TRACKER tables. This allows me to pull that GPA score into the points tracker to be used to calculate a points system score for each player. However, when I add a new record, this linked field does not update the linkage for the new record. Any tips are appreciated!
Thank you in advance!!! So we are a very small charity and we are trying to track our COVID response in Airtable rather than the millions (only a slight exaggeration) of spreadsheets that we currently have. I think I know how to do that part which is exciting, where I am really really struggling though is the basic CRM side to stick all of our membership in. Our problem is that our membership form (currently on google forms and sheets) is the family data and then multiple child details on each membership form. I have worked out how to make a form for the membership details but where I am struggling is pulling up a report of the number of children if I use the link data tab I can pull through child number 1 but not the details of the other children - am I missing a trick? We have over 10,000 children registered and I need to be able to pull a report on the number of siblings, the number of children in total, how many are disabled and then be able to break it down into the types of d
I would like to be able to automatically import contacts with the status “closed-won” into a sales tracking table. Example: I have a travel agency, so when a prospect goes into “closed-won” status, I have to do a different follow-up (hotel reservations, excursions, etc). I’d like the contact to be automatically transferred to the customer follow-up file when it is in the prospect file. I’m a novice on the platform, thank you very much for your help. Beautiful day. Alexia
I have two tables that have information that is needed to create formulas to auto calculate gaps. For example, I have one table set up grouped by Month and Coach and has columns that are in currency format. They have revenue amounts and other count numbers. I have another table that is created to calculate the gap between the numbers in the first table and the newly entered numbers from Coach inputs in a form within that second table. So somehow I need to get the information that is sorted by Month and Coach into the second table to create formulas to calculate with the new information that will come from the form. Thank you in advance!
I’m not really sure how to ask this or if this is in the correct category, so please bear with me. I have entries grouped by Name. Within each name, I want them grouped by Type. However, I want those types sorted based on a percentage. Is there a way to accomplish this? Currently, when I make a group, it sorts the groups alphabetically. Then, within the groups, it sorts based on the percentage. But I want the actual groups sorted by a different value, not just within the groups. Is this achievable?
We are an architectural and general contracting firm who is trying to set up an CRM base design using the different ‘Divisions’ (Electrical, Site, Roofing, Doors, etc.) used in building and construction. There are about 31 or so of them that we use and we would like to organize our Airtable so that each subcontractor is below the correct header (a roofer under roofing). CSI Standards What is the best way to set that up?
Hi, I’ve got 2 tables that have duplicative information. Table 1 has a list of Waitlist Users and Table 2 has a list of users that have completed a survey. The reason I have 2 tables like this is because they’re source data (1 table has data coming in from our website form submission system and 1 table has data coming in from the survey tracking system). Both tables have an email column which can be used to connect the 2 tables. I’d like to get the data from both tables together. It can either be with a new table (table 3) or by adding the missing information to one of 2 tables I already have. How would I go about doing this?
This may be outright impossible based on how Airtable is designed to be purely dynamic however, I would love to know if anyone has any solutions. Here’s the Problem: I am using Airtable as a Series Bible for my Fantasy Book series. It is a massive world with many plots and subplots, characters, themes etc. As I am writing the scenes and beats, I’m noticing Airtable is not persistent with the sorting of its records. In other words, I set up a series of scenes, then I filter and sort. When I remove the filter and sort, the scenes are no longer in the order they were created. This is maddening, effectively removing the usefulness of Airtable due to it resorting all records. Furthermore, I am aware of ‘Autonumbering’, however this isn’t much use when you decide to re-organize scenes or add a scene in between two existing scenes. The numbering immediately becomes irrelevant. How can I maintain the order of my scenes and still use sorting, but rest knowing it will be restored to the default
Hi All, I am looking for an Airtable expert who can help me better design an airtable base to use for monthly and quarterly activity updates. Some of the data is qualitative and other data is quantitative. Here is a link to what I created, but it is clunky Airtable Airtable: Organize anything you can imagine Airtable works like a spreadsheet but gives you the power of a database to organize anything. Sign up for free. Ideally, I’d want to see activity progress for quant. deliverables; a spot to link to the actual outputs; reminders/notifications; something where you don’t need to scroll so far to see all of the details; … the list goes on, but this is to give you an idea of what I’d like to do. Thank you for time. Heather Finn, Operations Director Knowledge SUCCESS, JHCCP heather.finn@jhu.edu
Hello Airtable Community, I have a large base of recipes, each with a unique ID. I would like to be able to do a bulk search for several IDs at once, but I have not been able to find a way to do this. Is this even possible in Airtable, or do I need to search for each ID individually? Thank you! Leslie
@david_shannon this is in response to your thread - Inventory/merchandise help. I am following up with a new thread because the other thread seems to have been closed. I would love to better understand your use-case. Are you looking for a tab to keep the source of truth for the inventory and be updated every day?
Hey there, I have a power pivot excel that I update daily with our internal data. I’d like to be able to update the power pivot and have Airtable create a new record for the new data added from the power pivot. Is this possible? Would I need to create an automation using a tool like Zapier? Rachael
