We’re still in the testing phase with airtable so we’re new to the tool. Question: how can you/do you filter (or search) on a number field? I’d like to filter for greater than or less than, or for numbers within a range, but the only filter options I see have no relationship to numbers and search doesn’t seem to work on a range. Use case: creating a mailing list for businesses of a certain size, or within a size range.

Hello, We run a marketing agency, and are on-boarding several clients every week. The issue we encounter is to keep track of the post on-boarding phase. Is there a way to have Airtable automatically create a task say 30 days after a certain trigger event? For example, when a customer moves from on-boarding phase to “complete” phase, schedule a follow call in 30 days. Essentially, it’s [date when moved to deal stage] + 30 = task date. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am building a cultivation tracker for my relationships with grantmakers. Unlike a grants tracker, this is not going to track when we receive grants specifically, it’s going to track my cultivation efforts which are mostly relationship and communications based. I built a base design to show the org, contacts, most recent activity etc. but I’m having trouble with assigning activities and showing that they are done. Essentially, I have a table that shows me all of the organizations with fields for their contacts and most recent activities linked to other tables. But I also have a To Do table I want to link to it that will automatically move the task to the “recent activities” table once it’s marked completed. Is this possible? I’m also open to color changes as a solution, having all activities in one table and having them show up differently on the organizational overview table when they are complete etc. I just don’t want to have to manually copy and past over complete

Hi there We want to have a fixed list of Customers in a single table. That’s easy. On other tables (and ideally on bases) we want to have a single (or multiple) select that uses only the names from that master customer table. I can’t figure out how to do that, and I’ve gone down the rabbit hole with linked lookups, but I don’t think that’s is either. How can we have a fixed list of vales that are available as a Select in a new field but are sources from another table? Thanks! -j

Hey all, I am a completely newbie to Airtable as of today and so far I’m hooked! This has been a great way for me to organize my info in relation to my blog! The thing I can’t quite seem to get the hang of, however, is linking. I’ve read all the articles and watched some videos, but I can’t seem to figure out how to make it do what I want it. I have a tab for all my current blog topics with categories and notes on each. Then I have a second sheet for blog post ideas. On each idea, I have some notes and tasks I’d like to do. So when I’m getting ready to add a new blog post into my blog posts lists, I’d like to be able to choose a topic from my ideas list and have it populate the information that was on that topic in the other sheet into my blog list without manually typing out all the info again. (did that make any sense?) I am very lost and getting a little frustrated so any help would be appreciated. (I have attached some screenshots for reference)

Is there a way to capture info (metadata) about each table and each field? Just a short description of what purpose the table/field serves, or special notes like how to use/what not to do - that sort of thing.

Is there a way to translate this base? I would love to see if it is a template I could use for inspiration.

I created our company workflow process by using the Workflow Process & Procedures base with 3 tables (Processes, process stages, process tasks) Now with the Actual Company Base - (PM me if you are interested in helping me finalize this stress :slightly_smiling_face: ) Do you combine both bases? How can I combine, do I need to combine, the information together for the flow process to work? It just seems like I am creating multiple un-necessary tables that are used for background details that cause a distraction or waste space in 1 base.

Okay. This is something I know I can do in something like Ninox, so I’m wondering if its possible in Airtable. Basically I want to be able to have a “Dashboard/Settings” table, where a user can select options that will filter things in another table. I’m working on a cross stitch database, which individuals would use. It will track things like inventory, projects, shopping lists etc. The simplest use case of the settings table would be to say, have an option that is “Show discontinued threads?” with a checkbox. If they check the box, then the thread inventory table will show discontinued threads. If unchecked, they will be hidden. Is it possible? I can live without this feature since I’ll probably create the database in Ninox as well, but would be nice if I could :slightly_smiling_face: .

Hi! I am hoping to take records I have in 1 table of my base and expand upon them in detail while retaining the organization of the groupings I used when first creating the records. So essentially I want to pass through data that was already written to a record rather than needing to do a pretty hefty data-matching effort to translate into a new table. Because of the fluid nature of what I am trying to organize I am working to create a series of ways to slice the same information that is too big for just 1 table to handle. Parsing it into tables before rolling it into the “master table” has been effective but I’m starting to get tripped up at this point in the development / curation process. I have a single select field with Yes/No options. Instead of soft Blue/Green I would like Bright Green and Bright Red plus different icons that are more obvious. I have a PRO account but this is my first attempt at this. Do I have do use a Block to accomplish this? If so which one?

My team has a task that is shared by all employees in the team. We set up a rotating schedule so that we know who has responsibility for the task on any given day. Is it possible to set something like this up in Airtable?

I need to create a UI where the user enters a name, clicks on a submit button, and then gets a list of results for that name. My users, mostly 60 years and up need something real simple. I get that this can be done with Filters but i need a UI that is a LOT simpler than what Airtable Filters has. Is this at all doable?

I have a file that I receive from my customer that I want to import then set up for my team to use. The issue is that the table comes in organization that does not work well in the airtable environment. Hi there, I’m using tags in a table to create groups for records e.g. ‘homepage’ , ‘landingpage’ ‘checkout’ . In a one to many relationships. So, for instance, I have a table that has Observations | Tags record 1 | Homepage record 2 | Homepage record 3 | Landing page Then in another table I’m seeing Insight | Observations | tags Name | record1, record, 2 | Homepage, Homepage What I want is it to do Insight | Observations | tags Name | record1, record, 2 | Homepage When I do a lookup on the tags on a separate table. What I see is a record with the same tag repeated several times as it is linked to several other records. How can I make it only display an associated tag once rather than for every instance?

Hi. I arranget items on grid by hand in the order i want them to be. Now i want to get this order as a formula, or get it programmably by some kind of api. But api seems to return items from view always in the same order, no matter what changes in arrangement is made in view. Is there any way to get current order of records in view?

Hi there, sorry probably a very basic question but I have a linked field and trying to figure out if data from a linked field should be replicated from one table to another. Please see attached. In the table ‘Writer Job Submissions’ I linked an ‘article’ to a ‘writer’, however in the table ‘Articles’ The writer does not appear. Should it? and if not is there a way I can get it to? I’ve been having a great time learning to use Airtable, and imagine I am just beginning to touch on its usefulness. So glad to see an active community of knowledgeable users who are willing to help others learn. We are using airtable to manage weekly vegetable orders on a farm. I have three tables, one with customer information, one with items on offer, and one for order entry, and various order sorting and packing. The things I need this base to accomplish are: Customer management Order management Item management Things to note: We complete all orders weekly. There are no holdovers from one week to the next. We harvest to order, so we need to know how many of each item to harvest based on orders. It is working well with one exception. In order to calculate item totals, I have a link to the orders table that populates with all order records which contain each item. I then use a count field to count those records to know how

I would like to have multiple forms feed one table. I would also need to know for each record, what was the form used to get that info. Is that possible? ex: my table is about social content. I can either myself create a record with the info and specify myself what content type it is. But for some content type (ex: promoting something from an external partner), I might need to send a form to someone so that they fill it for me with some info. I would then need the “content type” cell to automatically populate to “external promotion”.

I’m fairly new to Airtable, so thank you for the help. I want users to be able to sort information based on a geographical region. The geographic region is comprised of postcodes. My table #1 only has postcode entries, and I have another table #2 that defines which postcode is assigned to which region. Can i get my table #1 with postcodes to autofill region based on the information in table #2

Hello all, I’ve gone from knowing nothing about Airtable to feeling I have a grasp of the main principles. I am building an ever more complicated database that has moved into the daunting complexities of off shore financing. Upto now I have around 10 tables that handle People, Business names, addresses etc. Till recently I thought a (2 way) linked relationship between people and businesses (in different tables) would work well but now I need the same 2 way link between different businesses. At the moment I have one table for all businesses and knowing the exponential growth in data Im not sure how best to move forward and still maintain the 2 way link philosophy. I thought to start adding more tables to create a hierarchy of businesses but that seems too much. I also thought about trying to use lookups but can’t figure out how that would work. In our airtable we have an employee tab and each employee can have multiple state licenses or memberships they belong to. Someone set up our employees to as duplicates for each state but the employee should be just one entry and the multiple licenses under that one entry. Can someone give some advice on the best way to accomplish this? Should it be a data entry field for each license? See attached.

I have a companies table and a contacts table. For each company, I would like to identify their Technical Contact and Business Contact in 2 fields. I have linked fields from the Companies table to the Contacts table, but there are also 2 backlink fields in the Contacts table which I think will confuse my users. Is there a cleaner way of doing this so there aren’t 2 Company fields in the Contacts table?
