Base Design

I’m planning to use a combination of baseID + recordID combined into a single string as a unique identifier that I want to share w/ end users to represent “ownership” of a document. Meaning, if they have the link, they can access the document. I want to ensure that these IDs are sufficiently random enough that this sharing model is sufficiently safe, and that attackers could not predict/guess future values by inspecting these values. Thoughts? Alternatives? Not sure if I can generate UUIDs, that would be another possible avenue I would trust for this particular use case.

I recently asked for help in this community and someone shared two example bases with me to try and help answer my question. I am now trying to delete them but I have no option to do so. How do I get rid of these bases?

Here’s what I’ve got: In Weekend Shift Tab when Status says Done then remove record from Weekend Shift Tab and place in the Done Tab like this: I’ve followed this tutorial: Airtable Automation - Move A Record To Another Table: No-Code Tutorial - YouTube I’ve made the automation work to pull the data in but: A) It doesn’t erase/hide the original data from the Weekend Shift tab. New Airtable user, I feel I am swiftly adapting to working in this environment. However, one issue I am having trouble visualizing is how to lay out a series of tables to meet this particular goal; any suggestions as to the most organized way to approach this are welcome. I have created a database to collect information about students focusing on social emotional support. In one tab, I am connecting to my students table from where I am importing all the data concerning my students. In one tab, I am collecting information about incidents where the student has been responsible of misbehaviors, harmer by someone else or witness of misbehaviors. Each entry is one incident. In one tab, I am collecting specific concerns requiring follow up, concern related to one specific students. In one tab, I am collecting notes about students (note related to a specific concern or incident bu simple.ibsrrvations by the counselors that could help o understand dynamic see pattern, and start a process of support if necessary. Hello all, my Friday afternoon brain just can’t get my head around this. I have a large database set up for our members and need to add new functionality to it. I have duplicated the base to try and nut it out. I need a column that is for ‘past groups’, of which people could have been in several. I then need another column that relates to current or non current member based on these groups. So Member 1 was in group 1, group 2, group 3 Member 2 was in group 2, group 3, group 4 Member 3 was in group 4 if group 1 ended 2016, group 2 ended 2020, group 3 ends 2022 and group 4 ends 2023 So the current member should only be showing yes if the member is in either group 3 or 4 I am not even sure if that makes sense. I need to set up a view for current members but don’t want to manually change each, I need a way to automate it based on the group they are in. Hi all, Hoping to get some ideas on the best way to structure my base to achieve the concept below. I work with property development projects, and use one row for each project (as in the first pic below). Some projects will have more than one dwelling built on it. Each dwelling on a site might have different characteristics (ie. number of bedrooms). Therefore also being able to separate each project into individual dwellings would also be helpful. I’ve set up this second pic manually to demonstrate the sort of thing I’m after, but I’m looking for a way of achieving this automatically. Is there a way to achieve this? I don’t mind if it’s all within one table, or kept in a second table. Any solutions are appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

I’ve been searching for a solution and it seems like a simple issue but I cannot get it resolved. I am desperately seeking some help! When I scan a UPC barcode, the 12 digits appear in my barcode field. I want my table to automatically populate in another field the product that is associated with that barcode. We use barcodes internally for inventory management so none of them are registered. So, essentially, I just want AirTable to know that X series of 12 digits is X product. I tried using automations as my solution but that doesn’t work because I can only have 50 automations in my Pro plan and I need this to work on thousands of products. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!

I have a table where my primary field is a URL. I have a similar table where the URL is not the primary field. When I click on the non-primary URL field in an unexpanded record, it turns blue and then a second click brings up the url in a new tab. When I click on the primary URL field in an unexpanded record, it turns blue. But then clicking on a it a second time expands the record and the mouse is positioned at the end of the url and the link is shown as regular text again. Clicking outside of the field turns it blue again and then I can click on it to bring up the url in a new tab. Is there any way to get the primary URL field to behave the same way as the non-primary field?

I manage a team as they each work on their own independent projects. I already have created a base to track their work but I am not confident it is the best way to go about it. I need the best way to show the progress they are making. Each project has an estimate of how many hours it would take to complete, broken down by task. This is the current setup: One base contains tables for each project A project has its own table that contains an outline of the multiple tasks required to complete the project. It is a very simple table where each task is in its own record. This is a pretty complicated framework/workflow question and I wouldn’t be surprised that it would make things pretty tricky. My company has a base with three tables used to track our clients. One for regular recertifications, one for interim recertifications, and one for new clients/moving clients. Clients that fail to meet the needs by the deadline to complete any one of the 3 tables uses have a single selection field where the staff person may mark the “Finalization” status as “Termination” with an accompanying date field with the sent date marking when the “Termination” letter was sent. Another team in my company handles the termination appeals and/or Termination “ends” (fully deleting a client’s record from the program. There are also several other Termination reasons that are processed that fall outside of the 3 tables in my base. Is there a way to mark a linked record field as mandatory? I have 3 tables like this: Client (which is made up of people who belong to Branches) Branch (which has people in it and has a link to the Company whose Branch it is) Company (which contains Branches) I want to ensure that if someone creates a new Client, they must assign them to a Branch, and that Branch must be assigned to a Company. Can this be done in the tables directly? Can this be done in an entry Form? Can this be done in an Interface? Thanks.

OK, I feel like an ‘Airtable Idiot’ for asking this, but I can not figure out how to use one table to populate the lists that are in each of the other tables in this base. I tried ‘Views’, but I can’t seem to get past the “Primary key” road block! I mean, HOW can I get to the 2nd and 3rd columns in that table??? And you can see the Table Structure base here. I have a table that each record has an effective date that contains data that changes weekly. Is it possible somehow to have the data tied to those records to be view as historical data? My first thought would to be copy the table and date it, but I’ll end with with mulitple tables dated weekly. Essentially what I’m trying to do when item prices change to see the current values and then be able to refence the price of the item in the past. Thanks

Hello, I am trying to set up an Airtable base for all of our company’s employees, along with a list of the software that they have given to them when they start. We want to monitor how we distribute our software licenses so we make sure there aren’t any “dead” licenses given to people who already departed the company. We already have Google Sheets filled with information for current employees and software, but we want to use Airtable’s automation to help us make that process easier to audit. This is my Kanban View for Production Workflow. Once a video is reached at the status uploaded, I want to moved to another Kanban view in the same table. How to do that? One table holds the main client info (name, birth date, email, phone, etc.) and I have other tables for the info that varies over time (weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, etc.) Is there a way to create a form where I can view/add data in all those other tables at once?

I community, I need your help. Actually i sell subscription plant. The customer choose 3 or 6 month. I create an automation on Airtable which duplicate the record (by month choose by the customer) and the automation associate product to delivery : for example : order 201821222 The customer choose 3 month, the automation duplicate : M1- 201821222 M2 - 201821222 M3 - 201821222 On these records, i have a column with the plants we have to send. My needs : i want to display on interface the plant send on the previous month. My employee could choose the plant depending on what has already been sent. In my base , I have contract end date column and status column which many values such as active, progress, inactive, done, started, not started yet. when status changed from only these active, progress, started to done contract date should fill-up automatically. Is this possible. If so, please help me.
