Hello fellow consultants/experts, Dan from Openside here. If you’re like me, you love working with people building out workflows in Airtable. It truly is a remarkable product and has enabled companies to take their workflows to the next level. But, it’s not always easy and does take time. That’s where we (you and us as airtable experts) come in. Openside has been doing this for a while now, and believe we’ve learned a lot. We decided to open up our strategies and help more people get the help they need. We have a steady stream of customers coming in and want to make sure we can help them out. If you have any interest at all in what we are doing and interest in partnering with us in some capacity, check out this video and fill out a quick form to express interest: https://openside.com/join-experts nothing to commit to, just trying to broaden our network of amazing people we want to work with. Hope to hear from you!
I was thinking about how to add some functionality to a base and, for the base user, how they would trigger this. In most web apps functionality will be invoked by the click of a button - save edits, delete a record and so on - but this button functionality isn’t available in Airtable. But…Zapier provides a webhook component that can be invoked to kick off a Zap. I frequently use Zaps in my bases and they are mostly triggered by the standard Airtable triggers - new record or new record in a view. One downside to this, which this demo gets around, is that a record can only be triggered once (or once as a new record and once in a given view). By using webhooks to trigger the functionality, it can be executed an arbitrary number of times for any record. My demo for this is based on translating content from one language to another. I have some text in English and I want to translate each record of content into German: I set up a Zap that: triggers on-demand gets the EN content translates
I run a media company with many podcasts, blog posts, youtube videos and more. I’m looking at setting up Airtable to be my content calendar and tracking. I’ve used Google Sheets as my main “database” but have been playing with Airtable and can see the power of it. It would need to be able to track tasks to individuals and give deadlines. It would be complex and likely need to integrate with Zapier which I use a ton of. Let me know what more you need to know! Thanks, Ryan
Hi All! Last weekend I was involved in putting on the Consciousness Hacking Holiday Party. We were using [MUSE Headbands][(https://choosemuse.com/) for a meditation competition. The headbands measure brain activity and we competed for the highest scores of relaxation and focus. With over 60 competitors we used Airtable to manage the entire competition. Each volunteer recorded the score of the competitor and took a picture of them. All the results were sent to the big screen in a “Keep sorted” Gallery view with the winners at the top and if their score was over 500, colored Green. Here’s a fun chart of results: Questions? Comments? Ideas?

Hi Airtable Community! We’ve been using Airtable for a short time to help us manage customer quotes, customer enquiries and bill of materials for our jobs (home landscape contractor). We think Airtable can do this job for us, but I don’t have the time (or experience!) to build this properly. Looking for an Airtable consultant who would be interested in taking on this project, to take what we’ve got to the next level. Jen
Dear Airtable Community - We are a small antique print business interested in migrating our data to from a too large excel spreadsheet to airtable. Our goals are for all of our office staff to be able to collaborate within the same database, access it from anywhere, and economize our workflow. This could include potential integration with our current Miva Merchant online store database, and other options we have in mind. Essentially, we enter products one at a time, assigning various elements, categories, etc, then once a week upload these to the online store via a tab delimitated flat file upload. Each product is unique and will only be entered once, but some items are relate or very similar. We are also considering other database options. Kevin
Hi all, I’m not sure if this can be done at all but I’d like to work out a way to add timesheet entries to the appropriate month. I currently receive timesheets with a week commencing date and then hours for Monday through to Sunday. I have defined which month each day of the week falls into with a formula - see screenshot: I would now like to run a report that adds up all hours worked on any project and in any given month but I can only come up with a report that rolls up the totals in two columns which doesn’t help. What I’ve got: What I’d like to have: Not sure if I’m just looking at this from the wrong angle but I can’t figure out any way to make this work and would appreciate any help on this. Thanks a ton.

I’ve just added a new post to my blog Online Database Expert which shows how to use Integromat to create Barcodes from Airtable records and then post the resulting barcode (or QR Code) image back into the Airtable record. You can see all of the posts relevant to Airtable (including the Bar-code one) here: Database Expert Blog | Online Database Expert Visit our Blog where we review database and other cloud / online platforms and where you can comment. The site also include a members forum where you can ask database related questions and offer advice (including a specific section for Airtable users).

I am looking for someone that can set up reports, with buttons to choose which fields show up on the report and export the selected information to a nicely designed (with our logo) spreadsheet or PDF.
…but I will. :grinning: I just got a new Badge for viewing posts for 365 consecutive days! Pretty impressive, I’d say. It seems that I am the only one, at this time. I thought I would share this. Mary K
I just wanted to show (perhaps showoff  ) one of our latest projects with Airtable. Using multiple Airtable tables our marketing client manages their projects, clients and incoming reports. They require their contractors to upload reports which we are using an AT form (soon to be custom form as client needs extra requirements) to input the data. Each of the customers are using a generated token based on the AT record ID which is part of their link to access the site ie. mysite.com/wo55eiruWERsdhf234 as security isn’t a primary objective they just don’t want “browsers” being able to have public access. These links can be sent out using the Airtable email block, these links are easily regenerated in AT and deactivated using a checkbox as well. Each client gets their unique link and once they connect can only see the projects they are assigned to in Airtable on a custom home page. The site provides an nice view of the data in chronological order and images retrieved from
I have 3 Tables in a base named “Bhakta Class Tracker”. Where I will prepare the class schedule for these devotees either monthly or quarterly. DevoteeList Topics Schedule It is not like outside regular colleges or universities. We are from Hare Krishna Temple. So it is a NGO and devotees keep joining at any time of the calendar. Not like certain period of time only they have to join. So I can’t fix the schedule for the entire year. It will change dynamically. So this schedule will be a mixer of new and old devotees. So for a particular day if I chose one topic and the speaker then I want to know the devotees who are idle. That I am able to achieve through integromat tool. But after finding out the devotees who are idle, I want to find out the topic which is common to all these devoees and that topic no one has attended. Since I have the list of topics for each devotees who have attended and not attended, so I asked for intersection of these topics so that i can come to know the topi
Hi there - I’m interested in hiring a developer to help me implement a custom airtable function for our employee training event calendar on Airtable. We use one airtable registration form for all of our events and ask the registrant to select the specific training they are interested in and then submit the form. What I’d like to have happen then is the user (who filled out the form) is immediately sent an email with a outlook calendar invite file attached to it with the specific details (title, location, description, etc.) of the event they selected on the form. Anyone believe this is doable? Let’s chat!
Still a novice to AirTable so forgive my ignorance. I need to accomplish two things: Create a Gantt chart with multiple blocks per person so I can track when they are busy and when they are not. Right now I have created a task list and assigned multiple tasks to my team. But when I make a gantt chart (based on start and end dates of the tasks), it only shows them occupied for the first task. Example: John is assigned 2 tasks, one starting in July ending in September, another starting in October. But only the July task shows up on the gantt. What is the appropriate time function to use so that I can track utilization by time instead of just using a simple function that compares number of tasks assigned vs capacity. I want each individual working on one task at a time, but I am assigning them tasks that have timelines that do not overlap.
First, I am not trying to reinvent the baby. I am looking for a person or persons that has already developed something similar to either or both of the systems I describe; as such would hope to quickly adapted/adopted and implement in the next few weeks. System 1 - marketing project management System 2 - event participation management System 1 We have an in-house marketing department and are managing over 200 “projects” with multiple action items in various stagings of completion on any given day. Some of these are associated with our annual brand campaign but many are not. I created an excel workbook that outlines project scenarios. CAMPAIGNS would be created by the marketing manager only and then PROJECTS would be tethered to a campaign and could be created by anyone with login access. Project item CLASSIFICATION is limited but include: Advertising Collateral Event Planning PR Presentation Social Swag Wearables Web/App I envision the WORK REQUEST process starts down this path. A per
Want to switch our small entertainment company from a Trello/Word/Outlook combo to Airtable, but do not have the time to learn and then design it. Would like to hire someone who could help me design and execute. Please contact me if you think you could help us create this. Thanks in advance. Gwenn
Develop a simple Web app with which would add a new inventory item. It would then save the item to Airtable, as well as to Shopify. Eliminate the dependency on Zapier, and it gives you more control over the entry of new items. For example, specify what fields are required and enforce any additional business rules that you might have in mind. Additionally, the Web app could be extended to support updating inventory items as well. So if you were to change an item in some way, you’d do it through the Web app, and those changes would be applied to the corresponding records in both Airtable and Shopify. The Web app will also be designed to support Shopify’s “meta” fields, so we would be able to implement the “dimensions” field - and any other fields that Shopify doesn’t support “out of the box," as well. basically “sync” data between airtable and shopify. shopify site is already developed with metafields in place. this syncing pertains to inventory records only and the fields are somewhat
I am working with a Wordpress dev. team that is building a site that will require integration with the Airtable API. We are looking for someone who has experience in this integration and can consult on a gig basis. There is potential to grow the work into setting up the front end bases in Airtable should we proceed. LMK - Scott
Team split between Europe and Asia need an Airtable developer/consultant to assist with numerous queries - recurring tasks/transactions, zap integrations, review of table structure, how best to implement various non-supported financial functions (FV / PMT excel functions) from excel into air table via Zap. Some graphical questions but mainly dev/API integration. Time zone of developer pretty irrelevant. Immediate start. tom.hall@paxholdingsltd.com
