Recently, we created a custom Vue.js web app for a national retail chain to use for internal management walks. Here are some of the features we included: Two fields (store number, date) act as a kind of key and after they are entered, the form fetches existing records that match those keys. If no record exists, it creates a record. Dropzone.js for uploading pictures and integrating with the camera on a phone/tablet. Star ratings fields. Email a read only view of the record using a field. Simple navigation I don’t want to share the link to the forms on here, but there has to be other companies interested in custom airtable forms and views for their business. I use airtable mostly as a product database + putting purchase orders to my vendor overseas. Each vendor uses their own weird excel cataloging system (Everyone in China does this), so I use airtable instead to send my own unique database of products in PDF format I don’t want to bother letting them know what my airtable system is and want to keep things simple This is how I control document workflows for letting my vendor overseas changes on my end: Make the relational database schema with all the items in there Add quantities to those items Create a specific view for those product items (Product SKU, Description, Image, and Quantity) Print it out using CutePDF printer (makes the adobe PDF) run OCR recognition on the PDF too Modify in AdobeAcrobat if needed Send file to vendor Whenever I have to revise the PO to resend back out to the vendor (e.g. quantity numbers change, or I have to revise my order to reflect the current container number I am putting my products through) I do the

We are new to Airtable and need some help getting some of the features working (particularly linking tables and also hopefully setting up a search and replace feature). We are using Airtable to track hundreds of photos in a very large documentary project (7 hours of video). This project is for a private foundation. The database will include tables of current photos (that are in the current version of the film) and tables of the new photos (we are replacing many of the current photos and also tracking copyright info). We want to be able to search new photos, find the one we want, and insert the new one into a record of the current photos which are in another table (most of the current photos will be replaced). Also helpful would be some general advise on better search criteria and categories and help to set up linking, lookup, and a way to insert photo from one table to the another. Hello! this is my first post on this airtable forum. Its only been a few days since I’ve used this software, but I am finding so many applications I can use from this program. I’ve only touched the surface of what I can do so far though One important thing for me, at least, is taking revision logs of things I change overtime when I build my database schemas / naming conventions I tend to add many notes describing each column of data I am using. The https://www.airtable.com/universe interface is awesome, its left sidebar allows you to view different parts of your base without switching between tables and views. How to make a sidebar like this one for my own base? Essentially it is a two-part iframe HTML page but I just wonder if someone has done a more complete and secure template that could be implemented without advanced HTML knowledge.

The original Destiny Search Project was formed in 2007 after the disappearance and search for missing Destiny Norton in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is the Job Search database that I extended to include: applications, companies, positions, contacts and activities. I recently found a new job using this database. The main areas I would like to improve, but don’t see a way to do so yet in Airtable: 1) Auto-populate a position when I get a hit on an application, 2) auto-select and/or auto populate the company when I select a position or contact, 3) restrict the list of linked rows to just the rows that are a match for that company / position. Hello! I am creating my company’s first-ever master content calendar for marketing & comms. This is probably a fairly simple job. I just can’t seem to find the right base to use, and I don’t have the resources internally to delegate this task to someone on my (small but mighty) team to take care of. I am a part-time social dance teacher and also work as an IT support person in two private companies working in dance teaching business. Some months ago I got a task from my boss - to build an application for scoring, to be used in a dance competition. The competition in question is a peculiar one: you see, in a normal dance competition, there are fixed couples dancing, and nominated judges give the scores. All existing scoring apps are build around this hypothesis. Ours was different however: it was based on peer review, ie. every leader danced with every follower and the dancers gave scores for each other. No existing application bends to this peculiar case, so I needed to build one from scratch. I also needed to make my application an online one, so at first I thought about SQLite + PHP. My organization is currently visualizing Airtable data in Tableau by connecting our Airtable API to Google Sheets (using Blockspring) and then connecting Tableau to Google Sheets. This is working, but since no more than 100 records can be fetched from Airtable at a time, I have to break tables into several smaller tables through filtered views. Is anyone able to assist with fetching more than 100 records? Thanks! Allie

Airtable has worked so well on student side of the school I work for, that I’m making a major leap into using it for our marketing activities. Which activities? All of them: Project Management Publishing Calendar Partner CRM Vendor Contacts Media Hit Database Collateral Management Campaign Results Swipe File and Event Planning It makes sense for all of this to be in one database, not spread across a half dozen applications. There are products that attempt to do this, but they cost $$$ a month and often trade functionality for usability.

I would be interested to know whether there is a possibility to synchronize between two versions of a base. My use-case is as follows: I would like to have a stable RELASE version of a base to which users have access through the API (with a defined API key). At the same time I would like to have the possibility to modify/extend a copy of that RELEASE version (let’s call it WORKING_COPY) and once this copy has reached a certain status it shall again be used as the new RELEASE version with the unchanged API key. I found it easy to duplicate a base in order to e.g. work on that duplicate as the WORKING_COPY but I don’t see a possibility to bring back those changes to the originating base (with the defined API key). Is there a way of achieving this or are there alternate solutions for my use case? Thank you, Stefan

If you run a Wordpress website and you want to be able to easily pull data from Airtable into Wordpress, this is for you. Airfields is a Wordpress plugin I’ve built that allows data from Airtable to be accessed using Wordpress’ get_post_meta and get_post_custom functions. There is also a shortcode you can use in the post editor that will output the value of whatever Airtable field you specify. The way it works is that in the Airfields admin settings you will provide (App ID, API Key and) the name of an Airtable table and a field from that table in which either the post slug or the post ID will be stored. Then, any posts that match will have its custom data populated from the fields of the corresponding record from Airtable. This works with pages, posts, and any custom post type and can be used to display any field type Airtable supports. This should be considered a beta. I was playing around with rollups today and couldn’t quite get or to work like I thought it should. Even worse I couldn’t find examples of how others are using it. An examples, real or made up? Thanks!

I write knitting patterns, they had to be tested - if everything is correct or not. So I have tests - for every pattern. I collect data as volunteers, yarn used, if finished, etc. I have testers - because some people joins to more tests. I want to keep their email address here, know in which tests they knitted and how. So I would like to rate them - did the finish in time, sent the survey back, etc. I don’t see, how I should connect all this data together. How it works now: I have a Google doc, one table for all tests, with the data mentioned before. And I have an other table: rows are testers and columns are the tests, I give a “note” for them.
