Is it possible to create permission groups for users? Right now my company has a pro plan workspace that has a few bases that we do not want to share with the broader team. What the means is every time we hire a new employee, we have to individually add them to multiple bases since we can’t invite them to the entire workspace. Creating multiple workspaces isn’t an option since paid plans only apply per workspace. Ideally, base access would be set at the team/group level and users could be added to those teams/groups. How do other people at companies with growing teams manage this?
Is that possible to create a view that put together data from 2 different table like join tables in a select?
Is there a way to show a dotted line relationship in the org chart app?
I have a database of things, which all have measurements. Sometimes one item will share parts with another item. I was wondering if I could take the measurements from one item (which is a linked field) and populate the measurements fields in the variant item. Basically, when someone is filling out the form view and they select a record to reference (which is a linked record, as they can only add already created records from a dropdown), it will take the measurements from that linked record and add it to the record that is currently being created. Record one: Car Name 1 Car Body 1 Car Measurements 1 (separate fields for height, width, length) Record two: Car Name 2 Linked record to “Car Body 1” (because they have the same body) Measurements auto-populated from “Car Measurements 1” into the blank height, width, length fields.
Hi again, An issue I’m having is that when I go to a view shared via a private link that has already been grouped, one or all of the groups seem to be expanded by default even if I collapse them all in my workspace. Is there any rhyme or reason to this? Thanks, Blake
My next one seems trickier. I have a Sales data sheet with multiple lines of different data for the same products. A new line is created for any difference in sales variable (Annoyingly) for instance. lets say Line 1: Product 1, 10 sold, on Domain#1, for £5.99 Line 2: Product 1, 3 sold, on Domain#1, for £2.99 Line 3: Product 1, 5 sold, on Domain#2, for £5.99, with 10% discount Line 4: Product 2, 9 sold, on Domain#2, for £5.99, with 20% discount Line 4: Product 2, 3 sold, on Domain#1, for £9.99, with 10% discount Is there any way to create a single record for each product with all the variables?
Hi guys, I am having a challenge connecting my Google Sheets with Airtable. I have done a screen recording here for proper context. Thanks.
Hi all, One of the fields in my base is date/time, and I want a particular view to filter results to exclude anything created in the last hour (as an example) - what’s the best way to achieve this? For context, all records in my base start out as a particular lifecycle status, I’m trying to capture the ones that get stuck in the first status for more than an hour. This would give enough time for the records that move more slowly through the statuses to be moved on and not appear in my filtered view.
It appears that I’ve merged some records accidentally and lost data. Is there a way to undo this? I’m looking at the record history and don’t see the old information, unfortunately. In this screenshot, this record should have more than one hour of history. (Edited to remove identifying information)
I am setting up a project tracker base with multiple projects that utilize the same tasks. I have a Tasks table that links to projects table. I think I need to have a formula field for the Tasks primary field. If so, whats the formula? If not then what? Thank you community!
Nothing happening when I click on ‘Contact support’ (other links are ok)
I was looking at some of the third party apps in Marketplace and am a bit concerned about the apparent lack of support for privacy. When clicking to add any of the apps, there is a standard phrasing, which includes the name of the app: “Your use of the app is subject to [app provider]'s terms and conditions and privacy policy” Given that many of the apps don’t have a website (so the support link is to Airtable support), there is no privacy policy or terms and conditions. Even where there is a website (eg for miniExtensions) the privacy policy and terms and conditions on the website relate only to the website, and not the app. Are all of the 3rd party apps at our own risk, as it were? What checks do Airtable do on apps before they are added to the Marketplace? I’m thinking that this means my organisation won’t be able to use any non-Airtable provided apps…
I’m pretty sure that in the past there was an info icon next to the view name, which showed the view description when you hovered over it. That has gone. 2 days ago I had no way to view the description at all, unless I edited it. Today I can see the descriptin when I hover over the view name (info icon still gone), but the formatting is lost (no paragraph spacing) and it’s truncated: This isn’t great, as I was using the view description to provide summary instructions for users, to reminde them what they should be doing there. (And so they don’t need to refer to our documentation constantly.) Apologies if I’ve missed a ticket on this. I did search but couldn’t see anything.
I would like to know why there is no Simple Templates for the following examples for a beginner; Parts and location, Music or DVD collection. These are so basic to most people. It’s a big disappointment for me as a beginner. Like my electronics teacher said, when troubleshooting remember if it’s plugged in, Basic things. Garry
Having trouble locating a logical operator for “not equal to” and a way to reference a blank field This formula is references 2 fields; Start Date and Finish Date. The formula is intended to return the age in days of the task I am tracking. This should give me the amt of day between Start Date and Finish Date if Finish Date is not blank, else the amt of days between Start Date and Today IF({Finish Date} [has a date/isnt blank] ,DATETIME_DIFF({Start Date}, {Finish Date}),DATETIME_DIFF({Start Date}, TODAY())) What should I put here to make this formula work? What am I missing?
Here’s my use-case: I want to remove the first column with the indices because I think they would confuse my client, who wants a very simple report presentation.
Does anyone know how to export VCF files (Contact cards) from an app in Airtable to desktop?
I keep a table that shows how many hours I have available to work for clients each week. I am a freelancer who provides X number of hours support each week to around 10-15 clients. Each of my clients has their own column with their requested hours on the worksheet. I then use a formula column to calculate how many hours I have remaining so that I can build in new work. As I get busier, I am increasingly asking my associates to do some of the hours for me. I would like to find a way to show how many of the client’s requested hours are being worked by me and how many of the client’s requested hours are being worked by my associates. This will then help me to plan extra work where I know I have gaps because my associates are taking care of some of the hours. I hope that makes sense but here is a screenshot of my simple worksheet. Any suggestions of the best way to show what I’ve described would be wonderful. Thanks ever so much.
I am researching on how to integrate our application with airtable base as a database. Any links to the api/ integration docs/guides on this would be helpful.
Hi everyone, I would like to embed an Airtable view of our calendar to our internal knowledge managment site. However, I don’t know where to disable the email domain restrictions imposed by the enterprise account (“Your enterprise account has additional email domain restrictions enabled.”). Embedding the calendar works fine on our internal site, but it then requires everyone to first create an Airtable account with our email domain to be able to see the calendar entries. Not everyone reading that site has or even needs an Airtable account. Is it possible to disable these email domain restrictions somewhere? Or is that only possible as an admin?
So I have a wiki-like database where users can add information and request to edit information. I am currently working on a prefilled form and automation where they can edit the entries themselves. However, this table is kind of massive in the sense that there are a lot of columns and some of the information is a bit lengthy. Here is where my question comes in. Is there a limit to the length a prefilled form link can be? Or how many fields an automation can have? Also, my automation tests keep failing when a select field or other non-text field is present. It would be nice if the data could be added (appended) instead of overwritten, which would negate the need for such a huge prefilled form. I don’t think airtables update automation can do that though? P.S. I am on a free plan so apps and the like are a no-go.
Hi, I have added a fairly simple scripting block that accesses an endpoint on my application. The error when running this is below, but can’t for the life of me work out what this is referring to. Has anyone got any ideas? ERROR SyntaxError: Unexpected token C in JSON at position 0 at Unexpected token C in JSON at position 0 let token = await input.textAsync("Insert Token") let table = base.getTable("test"); let record = await input.recordAsync('Pick a record',table) let initialRaw = record.getCellValue("updatedcontent") let recordid = "60cf7b6133fed78cdae3ca48" let env = await input.buttonsAsync('Choose Environment', ['Test', 'Live']) var exampleRequest = { "items":[ {"ID":"1234", "name":"Mr Smith"}; var exampleRaw = JSON.stringify(exampleRequest) let raw = JSON.stringify(initialRaw) let url='' if (env=='live') { url= 'https://live.com/user/'+recordid } else { url='https://test.com/user/'+recordid } console.log(url) co
Let’s say I had 400 records and I create two grid views. Will that count as 800 records?
E.g., at least provide indentation so simple outlines can be created. Better yet, why not provide a full-feature RT editor? Should be simple implementation, no?
Is there a way to tell how many times a table/view has been seen? For instance, if we share the Airtable URL with external users, is there a way to tell if the link has been used, and how many views there have been?
